Really cool :D
Felt like movement and collisions were bugged. Good idea though.
Good concept and prototype, but nothing more. I liked the charge sound, disliked the fact that birds once they start chasing you are impossible to evade. Could be nice with more gameplay mechanics that involve actual skill.
The start got me a bit psyched just to find out it's more of an application than a game. Well made, the intro was nailed too.
Cool concept, however it's 21mB in size D:
"In the end, Potato came to a realization..."
Good puzzle, good mood, well made :D
True that. Don't expect too much feedback :/
Getting a "not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous" on chrome. It's a false positive, the game works fine.
I love the tune, the game is cool but the controls are a bit sketchy.
Really great piece! I love the rpg feel, graphics and audio blend really well. However the game suffers from having no checkpoints. Definitely one of the better submissions.
A bit glitchy, but interesting idea.
The theme was missed, however I'm glad I played this!
Nice and colorful. I wish there was something that "threatened" the number of bodies acquired, like a dark hole kind a thing. Would work for some trippy colorful game.
I claimed revenge. Fun little platformer :D
Good concept, however there's not much to do that really affects the gameplay.
Quite good and fun overall, it blends really nicely.
17 people already voted while the game is not even playable...
Good but expected take on the theme. Voxels are nice, everything runs smooth. Enemies take too long to be killed though.
Cool entry overall.
Loved the mechanics! Puzzles were a bit based on trial and error, but it didn't hurt the gameplay. Really fun jam game :)
Completed on unfair mode. A really good ride, although a bit too short. One of the best games of the jam.
Amazing ride!
Really cool! I especially like the RPG setting :D
Cool concept. It loaded for me perfectly in under 3 seconds. It's also pretty fun but since so many people opted for space games I'll deduct some theme points.
Beautiful art!
Got to 40,000ish and died. Fun, but when a player dies you should show the score.
Got to 40,000ish and died. Fun, but when a player dies you should show the score. Pixel art was cool too.
This is good and polished. It shows that you're well rounded as a duo. I would rate it even higher but there's an abundance of space games already flying around.
Thanks. I understand the game can be really difficult. I personally completed every level before releasing it. Obviously programming and heavy-testing the game myself I grew accustomed to the mechanics, but that also means everyone else is capable of beating the game as well :D
I enjoyed this one so much! Thanks based pixel gods.
Good but spent most time on randomly roaming spamming spacebar. There is a bug where you jump outside of the level
http://i.imgur.com/ioySsnQ.png
Good conceptual material, enemies or hazards would help.
Yep, link broken...
Pretty good, doesn't have any major cons.
Very neat concept. The characters don't interact a lot, you basically complete every character's own set of puzzles in a level.
It's new and innovative. Love both the music and art.
Wow. I enjoyed this so much. Best submission I played yet! The bike riding and combat was ridiculously fun, you really made this challenging and fun to the max :D
Very cool, polished gameplay. Feels pretty complete!
Looks great but becomes quite repetitive.
Yeah those bears are creepy as hell. Overall pretty nice and fun for a while. Beat the big bear boss before closing.
I'm glad our game wasn't the only stealth game in the submissions!
Looks really cool, I dig the idea, as someone else mentioned the UI could definitely see improvement, other than that and a little bit sketchy graphics this is a very well rounded submission :)
that redneck voice *chuckles*
humor would definitely be it's strong point, the dynamic control index at the beginning of the game is just not convenient.
Quite cool, cool play on the monster theme with the energy drink.
Glitchy, needs a proper tutorial I think D:
The monster model made me chuckle tho :D
Challenging and well made all-round.
Veeeeery creative, I enjoyed it, especially the humor and the general idea behind the theme. Awesome entry :D
Looks great, but I guess it's mostly due to builtin Unity shaders. The gameplay was good, however it's in need of a proper tutorial or readme for people to fully enjoy :)
Fun after 2 minutes of being really annoyed and clueless.
The gibberish english! Humor +10!!
Played until bugged out, then lost interest.
Well made, glitchy jump motion was also very neat in the end. The hits that lower the health need to be much more visible. How did the monster acquire arms before the sword?
Bit plain since you can't die, kills the challenge part of the game. Pathfinding and mechanics were ok.
This felt sooo nostalgic, it's amazing! Played the game with my sister, high grades all around from the both of us! :D
Holy crap this is polished! The motion and feel is perfect for a detective game. If it followed the theme better this would get straight 5s all across the board from me :)
Bit hard for the eyes o.o
Very nice choice of palette for the pixel art :)
Controls a bit sketchy.
Cool concept, I got to a million before closing the tab. I usually dislike when people create space games for every LD theme, but this was an exception that was really fun for a while.
That light going through walls is not appreciated =P
The enemies just bummed my castle day 1 even after the hypnosis D:
Looks and feels awesome, there's not much gameplay but the great tune and cool graphics left me playing for around 15 minutes just searching around. Well made. I would've rated audio highly, but for some reason you disabled it D:
I liked playing as the "peaceful mosnter" :P
Very cool, I was hoping there would be more stealth games since I opted for one myself D:
Kinda lackish, I liked the programmer graphics in this one :D
Bit too clunky on the technical side, the controls are clunky on the keyboard but it shows promise!
Too crazy, I like it D:
Breath of fresh air in seas of topdowns and platformers this time around :D
Very polished for the short development timeframe!
Strong art game, very sick for the limited timeframe! o.o
The feedback is appreciated!
@SoulGame:
Most of the time the winning condition is just baiting someone near the object you're hiding behind, then biting without moving and making sound. If you try sneaking behind targets the dark won't help much since you're making too much noise.
I added a youtube video showing a bit of gameplay and how the biting works. Obviously you'll miss the bite first few times, but it gets very easy once you get a hang of it :)
Proper ragdolls would've made this game really really fun! I scored 650 :)
Effects made this very pleasing :)
Very well put together, 5 in mood :D
Started to become very difficult after a while but I enjoyed it for 10 minutes or so.
For my previous comment I don't want you to take it the wrong way, I rate this game high 4s and 5s across almost every aspect, I just realized with the positive feedback you got you would actually benefit more if I pointed out what I thought was negative.
To clarify, the game is focused on rhythm, which I find lackluster in this sort of theme. I said it was cheap because only the last level has anything to do with being a monster, sure you could say it was the drummers adventure of becoming one but I just think it was lackluster and some other setting would easily net this 5s :)
Very well made, got to wave 11 before finally giving up.
The dialogue and the low movement speed got the best of me. I didn't stick for long, but I appreciate the pixel art.
Too clunky and doesn't focus on gameplay properly. Incoherent art style hurts my eyes.
Not much to do, but impressive development values!
Controls are a bit shaky, other than that quite an entry! :D
Nice tribute game :D
Interesting take on the theme featuring simple but fitting graphics.
The art is just ugh, mixing great pixel art with programmer graphics like that makes me cry. Aside of that I liked the simple mechanics.
Pretty simple, I like the premise.
Very funny and enjoyable, even thought it's a bit simple on the gameplay.
Very simple and fun, overall a pretty good entry, well done!
Lacks in the gameplay department.
A bit too imbalanced gameplay values. Ships start spawning a bit too much and the damage received from them is too marginal for a mistake to really feel as one. It's not satisfying enough to level up and wreck ships like I hoped, but it's decent.
Very good for the ratings, I've played through the whole thing even though it looks much more suited for the female public. The part where you mentioned the club was "bitchin'" got a kick out of me :)
I watched the youtube video at 200% speed just to follow the narrative. I did like the narrative but failed to see the challenge in this game. It was hanging on the monitor on the left and when I did take a glance the narrative was fine but nothing was really going on. The perverted things in the books are worth it tho, high humor rating from me.
Unfinished and a bit lacking in all departments. I see you worked on the mechanics much and it's sad you didn't have enough time to polish this up :/
Rawr >:3
This had a dungeons and dragons feel to it, especially the d20 hitting randomness.
I wanted to test it and give feedback, but I was stuck on the menu screen with nothing to do. Also your upload seems a bit wonky as you need to put the Monster_Run.exe outside its folder for it to work properly.
Played this a bit with my sister, she liked it but I wasn't satisfied. The dungeon master is a bit overpowered like you said haha. Even for a Jam I'd go against the asset store, it's a cool project but goes nowhere near what can be accomplished in 72 hours.
The main character's face makes me giggle like a schoolgirl x)
The wolf sprite is very funny, especially when facing the perspective camera x)
More gameplay aside of just simple movement is very necessary to keep this fun.
Athmospheric and cool, but is hard even early in the level.
Well done, good game about a good show ;)
A simple puzzle, not much innovation but very good development value!
Cool enough for the time you had considering you switched the game.
Very nice, everything is smooth except for the main movement engine, which is a pretty big deal. You get stuck in walls a bit too often when running from the lady.
Playing this with better graphics would be satisfying :D
A bit dull, but nice try, I'm glad to hear you learned a lot on the way :)
IMO you could've brainstormed up a better idea to go with a theme. There's really too many space games every LD just because people don't even try to innovate.
A bit poorly done, usually I appreciate the programmer graphics but this is just rushed to the very end x)
I'd say innovative but there are already many games that rely on this mechanic. Aside of that it's well done for the limited amount of time.
Amazing development value, if it wasn't a space game the theme rating would be much higher from my point of view.
The menu buttons hurt my eyes. Aside of that I enjoyed the mechanics.
This is very neat! Cool to know people make stuff like this for older platforms :D
The mechanics felt nice, it's a simple game but it was well made nonetheless. High grades in the audio and humor department!
I wish there was more. The throwing game was nice, but I wish the sign that told you to hold space would've shown earlier. Well done!
Very nice, the devil sprite looks like the devil from south park x)
Too much content to give a proper grade. It features cool gameplay, but alient or space games tend to overoccupy every LD theme..
Waiting time is worth it, it's very interesting :)
In need of a tutorial. The fight against color is unique =)
I know how it feels when you playtest your LD game, get very good at it in process, publish, and then get battered by the "It's too damn hard" feedback :P
It's cool, the physics of the boxes were nice. I just wish there was more to it. The concept is very funne too =)
Props on making me realize what a monster I am :<
The physics are amazing, even though it's just unity physics I loved how you put it together. Wish the monster had more power to be destructive, whole game I could only eat the divers which was kind of annoying.
Really well made but the potential was a bit misplaced, wish the monster was more powerful.
Nice rhythm game. The graphics were just derivative works from other games, so you should really note this in the "Features" part. The music is amazing, but it's questionable to me if it was really made during the 48h period, just because it's so damn good :D
Bit laggy but bearable enough 'cause od craziness :D
Great pixel art, I wish there was more to the zombie gameplay, at the moment it's like every rhythm game but with one key only. Well presented though!
Was really soothing. Really cool concept but no real gameplay besides being a sim. The game is aesthetically pleasing, but I wish the leaves didn't grow instantly.
Unique
Great overall presentation, I dig the voxels :D
Creative way to follow the theme.
It was cool, storytelling was good and it kept me interested in the story so I got all 3 endings. The UI was great and the story was ok, I just wish there was more to it.
Nice presentation overall.
Great overall presentation. The graphics were amazing and the puzzles were on point, although I wish the game was more balanced towards the puzzle aspect rather than being fast paced. Combining the two leads to a lot of trial and error gameplay.
Creative :D
I liked it. Narrative was fine, I wish the teleporter transition wasn't instant.
Cool game, nice finishing touch. Got to 125.
Nice entry. The ragdolls are messed up but I appreciate the effort. I wish the game difficulty was better balanced, as soon as you beat one of the big dudes the game starts spawning 4 normal ones each wave. Overall it kept me busy for half an hour total, good job!
Polished and fun, a bit too hard tho
@amorphous
Thanks for the feedback. It has been patched.
@Thought Reactor
It failed to load shaders. If you're on a laptop with a dedicated gpu, try right clicking the exe -> Run with graphics processor -> choose the gpu that supports shaders. The game will now let the player know if shaders didn't get compiled.
Bit confusing at start. Gets better after a few minutes, well done.
Rip headphone users.
I noticed that for some reason I can't die?
Stylish pixel art :D
Very atmospheric!
This gave me creeps, well made D:
Nice presentation, wish there was more to it though.
This is similar to what my partner and I were discussing about making. Glad to see you did it justice.
Very cool, reminds me of Pocky and Rocky co-op game on SNES. A bit too hard at the beginning, hitboxes could've been a bit more forgiving.
Very unique concept, fine-tuning would make this game great! One of my favorite submissions so far.
After letting this game run in the background for 2 hours, I accumulated 150k points
good game
Bit too hard to grasp, nice application of the theme.
Very nice submission, but glitchy all around. I played the version before you updated, you should keep the original around in the links by the rules :)
Oops, last comment was meant for a different submission! My bad D:
Very nice presentation, has style, except I wish the art style was more unified, pixels and gradients put together is a no-go D:
^ picking a little nit too much...
Cool concept, button hitboxes are waaay off which made this obnoxious to play.
Very cool idea, pixel art was juicy :D
I r winnar
Cool pixel art, wish it took more hits before dying.
Unique and creative. Wish more attention was spent on the graphics section :P
Starts confusing, when you finally grasp your objective properly you die and can't restart without re-opening the game.
Absolutely amazing meshing pixel art :O
Awesome :D
The ui reminds me of Final Fantasy V
Very funny, well made overall, I just wish it wasn't so painful to knock off all the items.
Cool concept, it runs a bit sluggish at times though.
Moze to i bolje :P
Really good, wish the later levels were shorter. Awesome submission.
Nice game with great style, a bit more direction would've been appreciated, especially in early stages of the game.
Holy pixel art :O
I feel bad for giving up, but the level 2 was a little bit too much
Horrible application of the theme.
Very immersive, excellent job!
Liked the stealth mechanics, although a few levels felt arbitrary and too much of a trial and error - most glaringly the one where the skeleton needs to clear your path.
Pretty good except for Understale elements :P
Good programmering
I didn't expect to play it for how long I did, considering it doesn't offer much in the audiovisual department. But I'm glad I checked it out, 'cause I'm still playing it! I loved the details and the vibe (the line "n of your members are sitting on their asses"), humor was on point. Well done!
Awesome! The dot interpolation was a cool aesthetic. The game has no sound whatsoever which is a bummer, gameplay is good but I'm always taken from the action when it starts getting good, and the goal screen is lasting too long. I don't like the constant menu pauses, if there was some sound I guess that would've been more bearable. Overall, I had so much fun from it but it has it's own downfalls and shortcomings.
Came for the llama, stayed for the voxels! :D
Kind of defeats the purpose of the "small world" theme when it's a game situated in the universe. The game is good but I don't see how it fits into the theme we got this time. It's very unfortunate because if this was anything else it would be one of the better games I played during this voting period.
Very retro feeling, reminiscent of the snes era. Had a blast :D
Very atmospheric and creepy, I especially liked the feeling when the wise man tells the player how he never tried pushing someone to "the edge" while slowly creeping behind. The end is also very cool, but don't want to spoil it, props on this submission!
I had a blast playing your game on stream. It was fun, it was fast, it was thematically unified. One thing that was off was the bgm track, which was too slow (if I remember the bass was very repetitive as well). Gameplay was great, I liked the original take on the field slowly regenerating as time went by, but in the end my enjoyment was dismayed by the ridiculously high difficulty curve, almost from the very start.
Loved it :D
The gameplay was cool, reminiscent to DX ball DOS era arkanoids with a twist. I played and enjoyed it quite a bit, but I just wish the graphics were better.
Neat idea, but the colors are destroying my eyes x)
Kept me occupied enough to play through it, but nothing spectacular. The message is strong, but where's the game? :P
This was too much hahaha, had fun with it but quickly became annoying. It served its purpose for what it tries to be. I'm usually more critical towards "Space" or "Planet" games but I looked the other way in this case.
I found it very tricky to rotate, other than that it was flawless :D
meh
Fun game, maybe sometimes too chaotic with the number of things on the screen, but overall very decent. Loved the humor, although maybe a bit corny at times. The graphics were okay, they served the purpose, but nothing too great in audio-visual department. Very nice indeed.
Easily one of the better submissions I've rated so far. Very polished, excellent production value, I dig the video! :D
First impression - the loud and random noises made me close it in panic <.<
I liked the movement, maybe it was a bit too slow for my taste, but the platforming was nicely implemented overall. Walljump being so limited is maybe not feeling good, but I can see why it's a necessity.
The autotiling and tile shifts were really cool, the way it progressively changes is very satisfying to see.
Overall the game was good but it became boring pretty quickly. Maybe if the movement was fast-paced it would alleviate from the problem.
I agree with a previous poster, the saturation and contrast from the visuals didn't really fit the game thematically, after reading the synopsis I was expecting something much grimmer and dustier. The audio department was fitting in nicely, but overall I was expecting more from the tension you tried to build since the game is very short.
I love it, but feels a bit empty at times. Could've used more graphical elements, especially since you sort of tease us with the existing pixel art being so smooth.
Thanks for the feedback so far!
- The key scheme is weird, but it was made with multiplayer in mind.
- Yeah, we're aware the game can be beat by mashing the swing button and I tried a few things. In the end, it still felt a lot better and faster without a long cooldown, I didn't feel like murdering the action by increasing it.
I found inspiration from an old flash game called something along the lines of "atomic baseball" or something similar. Never saw Lethal League until you guys mentioned it, but now I can definitely see the resemblance <.<
@Jabba Your GPU doesn't support shader model we're using. I'll prepare a version that doesn't use shaders in a few minutes.
New download link update, nothing changed in the game but it now checks if the machine supports shader model 3, and if not - turns shaders off so it's playable (but way uglier :P).
@simple-blue The ball does get faster, that's the point of the game. Also there is a multiple ball option, and AI, I have a feeling you didn't play the game thoroughly enough :P
@sean-s-leblanc thank you for your kind feedback, although I'm puzzled how is the dome inconsequential to the gameplay? Without the dome this game falls flat, it makes the ball trajectory hard to predict. Our very first idea was to make an arcade game in a dome, it took us some time to figure out what we want to put in the dome and what exactly could reinforce the theme with gameplay and vice-versa. The game would clearly be very different if the characters were batting inside a box rather than dome.
Steep difficulty curve, otherwise a very polished experience. 5/5
Good but difficult, my team member had a lot more patience than me while playing it. We love it but we have a feeling you got too used to the mechanics and were tailoring the game to your gameplay, so by the time it was about to be released you were pro at it and didn't notice how hard it would be for others. We would love to see something like this getting a post-jam version.
Concept was nicely executed, but I felt the graphics weren't unified and the game sort of just played itself, mostly in a trial and error fashion.
A bit plain, but I guess that's how space games tend to be in LD. I wish this was thematically something else, anything but space because it kinda defeats the purpose of the "small world" theme.
Fun stuff, but yet another "space" take on the theme. The graphics are overly saturated, but it works in adding visibility in this case. Gameplay could use some tweaking, but for what it is I'd say it's the game's strongest point. Weak audio feedback, like someone already mentioned, but overall I was very happy with it.
Feels new and innovative, the zoom out is really cool but becomes tedious after a while.
How does this suit the theme at all? You've done the opposite, it just sucks to see all these space games on every LD just because people lack imagination.
Had fun with it, although the art was hard to look at at first. You're using a cool approach to drawing the decals which I can appreciate even though the graphics are mediocre.
Love the physics although I lose my mind playing games like these. Doesn't adhere to the theme at all though.
Wish there was more to it but the overall production value is already pretty high for a compo submission. Awesome stuff.
All hail Grishnek, took him to wave 10. One of my fav submissions yet.
Call him Kek the Snek and I'm giving this max stars.
Jokes aside, From the intro screen it was apparent to me that this would be a very polished game. Aesthetically it's pleasing and consistent, the particles complement the high contrast design. The shaders did it justice, especially the lighting. The only thing that tanked in quality was the UI which is to be expected, with submissions of this quality it's easy to forget this is a Jam game.
Gameplay-wise the game is simple but kept me involved nonetheless. Everyone knows "Snake" so few things like collecting power-ups and the grid movement are very clear from the start. What pushed it was definitely the shooting part. There's not much in terms of it and I encountered a few bugs but it's actually polished to the point where it's more than enough to keep it interesting. The camera however should see improvement. I appreciated the camera locking when the mouse button was pressed, but I still found it working against me half of the time.
There's an issue where the first enemy that explodes causes a half a second freeze, likely from loading the texture data for the particles. You can remedy this by doing it off the main render texture in a loading screen so it's preloaded once it's needed. Another issue I had was the shooting would sometimes persist even though I'm not pressing the mouse button. I made sure this wasn't due to me spazztically moving the mouse out of the game's border. Max I got was 32 before getting completely outnumbered and demolished.
Thematically it's alright. Honestly I'm clueless how to rate games properly following the theme this time around. A lot of submissions seem to be of games that don't really change in genre but on the other hand are a mashup of different games. So in that regard I'd say it's pretty well thought out.
Audio is sparse, if a bit lacking, but it's never crossing the line of being annoying. For a jam game that's a huge success in on itself.
tl;dr this is a very fleshed out submission, very polished and cohesive in what it's trying to be from start to finish.
This was aesthetically VERY pleasing! Love what you did with the atmosphere. It was a bit all around the place gameplay-wise though.
Really well thought out my dude.
Whoa an Unreal Tournament Rocket League mashup :O
This is very cool and could potentially go a long way. Few things: - Wish the ball was bigger, softer but lost horizontal speed a bit more to circumvent it. That way it would allow for more more aerial play to cover that huge space in the arena - Bonus pickups like speed boosts, etc. - Different weapon types could push it further
Overall an ambitious submission, wish you folks would continue pimping this one up.
My grandpa's farm succumbed to the lag of wave 40 :(
Took me a while to realize that disenchanting equipment gives health. Even after that I wasn't able to progress much, managed to only clear 2 maps and only had a helmet to my name before the physics ruined me by bouncing me straight into the lava. Talking about physics, they're very inconsistent and it drags the game down. Combining that with a very strict health limit makes it very frustrating to progress.
That being said the audiovisual quality of this is superb. Rarely do I see pretty much everything done right, especially in Jam timelines, in that regard I can't really ask for anything else, this is as good as it can get for the time you had.
This is how far I got before getting eaten by a dragon Screenshot_9.png
tl;dr Very polished audio and visuals, inconsistent physics drag the gameplay down a fair bit.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
@milkShake @hiki911 You're both spot on, there's quite a bit of depth and complexity even at the very start, and while we agree with you, we also think that's a very necessary thing in card games. The very next thing I would make if I had the time would be a proper tutorial.
@siuler-lm The controls are always an oddball in all our submissions. Will read some neat books over the summer, or will masquerade it as "our thing" :P
@oxygenium It's done that way to make remembering the cards you queued another challenge. I'm actually not too sold on it myself. In fact, I hate it now. Should definitely be reiterated.
@auxc Wow, thanks a lot! I'm glad you had fun with it and I'm sure my mates are as well! Keeping it simple at first should be the goal, but unfortunately in Jams it's always a challenge to keep the player occupied in order to try out all the cooler and more powerful cards. The controls were Space Shift and CTRL before I changed them, so I'm doing the same thing but for an entirely different reason 😅
Last thing to add. We fully invest ourselves in jams and we always end up going an extra mile. That being said, our runs are always stressful and the aftermath is never pretty. I had work the morning after, the artist had a college presentation, and due to other reasons we were half-minding skipping this jam as well. We are sort of still recovering, the info page was finally filled less than a day ago. We will rate other games as the time goes by until the last day. I might as well stream it at twitch.tv/cavecoder. But for now I'm hitting the bed
@Cyrdach Hmm.. I don't know what you mean? Every card is explained. There are only 35 cards in total, for a tcg game I'd say that's a pretty small pool. Your deck also starts at only 5 different cards and we thought that was the right approach. I do have a feeling it gets complex pretty quickly though, it would definitely need retuning.
Love the feel of this, kinda reminds me of old early 2000 games. Unlike others I believe the shake being limitless was a necessary thing to do considering it's a jam game. In any case the mechanic was appreciated.
Holy hell. I honestly never wished there was more of something this simple. Honestly think if you did this thing episodically and with certain consistency it could turn into something great!
This was b*itchin'. I love the vice city groove, it's sort of reminiscent of Hotline Miami. It's quite a refreshing concept so it took some time getting used to like people previously mentioned. Aesthetically it's superb, rarely do I find titles with this much pimp to it, especially in these short game jams. Congrats :D
It's charming but it has issues. The BGM doesn't play until you access options, so a lot of people don't even know it has one. Sometiems Sanic wus 2 fast. Cherry ghost does no damage. Chess rook tickles as well (even tickles the obnoxiously tanky queen piece). Kongs seem to be the only piece worth a damn, and their barrels sometimes can't catch Sanic, cuz he 2 fast. Once I figured out most of the pieces were useless, I found a nifty bulldoze button at the bottom. To my dismay it worked as well as the rook piece before. So I had to keep my horribly positioned goomba wall and work with what I got.
Last thing to add. It's not really following the theme, but don't be put off by it. Like someone already mentioned, it's a nice start.
This is how far I got

I feel like it's just two different games mashed up to fit the theme. Also for better or worse I can't understand what most of the monster sprites are trying to represent.
5/5 mastapeece
This was great albeit a bit easy. Ramping up the difficulty would be nice. Audio would definitely do this justice, as someone else has likely pointed out already.
I saw the gif, I laughed. It's a nice minigame, the physics make it funny as hell. The audio is incredibly annoying at first, but it grew on me as time went by. I wish there were combos and I wish there was no charge meter to make the game more action packed. Still a very fun submission nonetheless.
It's a really cool submission and could potentially be fleshed out in the future. It's currently very simple but it has things going for it. The mining aspect pushes it a bit in that regard, and I think if you manage to make the fights more interesting it could turn out to be a really cool title.
Don't lose heart! I've read that this is your first finished game, so that's already proving you lots of things. Keep jamming dawg.
There's so much stuff in here it's hard to give it a proper review D:
I thought the rules were simple enough as they were, the description sort of explains everything..
This was good, but aesthetically (and for clarity sakes) I wish it had more contrast between the colors and background/foreground layers.
