I Need a Lunch Break! by flyingbear 2013-08-26T22:29:00
Great idea, graphics, music and level design! Really liked it! Very fun to play.

Great idea, graphics, music and level design! Really liked it! Very fun to play.
Thanks for feedback! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Sephiroth87, just fixed this bug in the web version.
Cryunreal, kirill.mikhel
Epic polish for only 3 days. Really liked it!
P.S: I am from small siberian town too btw :) Tomsk, you know.
Wow, I was so surprised after discovery of "predicting the path" feature. It is implemented exceptionally well. Abilities are interesting. Level design is just awesome!
Just great!
Nice one! Love the pixel art style and, strangely enough, that tiny little window. IMO it helps the player concentrate on small amount of things and makes the simplicity of design feel and look better. But sometimes it becomes extremely difficult to deal with all this huge amount of skills in only 3 rows on the screen.
Nice game! Liked the city and variety of drone skills.
I like the variety of mechanics. Though couldn't manage to change obstacles after shooting, only after throwing a grenade. Also, the red text is so difficult to read.
Loved the death animation, lol!
Simple and fun to play! Congratulations on your first game!
I like the idea, but I couldn't run it neither on Mac (doesn't start) nor on web (black screen with sound).
@smbe19 Oh, trying the one on itch.io worked for me, but HTML5(Web) link leads to a flawed one.
Amazing light effects and the mood in general. Liked the trees wind animation!
It feels like a huge game! Fireballs appeared to be really weak against knight or maybe I was misusing them.
Awesome! Very ambitious entry. I played for around 20 minutes, and here are some notes:
- Sometimes my workers went on strikes immediately after unnassignment from a previous workplace. - Energy and eco mechanics are a bit unclear. - It would be nice to see how much money you'll get as soon as market cooldown ends.
Liked the UI in general and especially different rooms artwork. Great job!
Wow, multiple endings is very cool to have!
@amazura I've just uploaded the standalone builds including Windows one. Feel free to try it out ;)
@selftitled Basically, when the fight is resolved in favor of any group, the current day should end and fade into next one. Do you hear repair sounds and does the next day start for you?
@selftitled Haha, yeah, we should have the day and balance change displayed properly overnight.
Brilliant! So polished design and art, love it!
Very addicting clicker with a sobering ending (well, obvious one) Wondering what is the second ending
Placing buildings was a bit difficult, but when you realise how to do it, it feels fine.
Also, loved the clean and focused UI
So tense mood! Great art style and sound design also, especially had a lot of fun from the Russian voiceover, well done :)
Great concept! Also liked art styles and collisions sound
@treeboater I might be working on an audio update actually :smirk:
@justcamh Thanks for the high quality feedback, good points!
It was interesting to explore the mechanics of this rogue-like even while I was having troubles with understanding what is going on sometimes (Armadillo HP going down) and how to respond to it (there were actually bugs attacking it, so I had to protect it). But the first thing I struggled was "finding the Armadillo" :D For some reason I didn't get that yellow square you spawn on is the Armadillo :D
Read the instructions first
Anyway, great rogue-like attempt, bring more of these!
Cool idea and very nice level design!
The music reminded me of a famous farming game immediately :)
During gameplay I think I might have done several mistakes after seeing my drills falling down and all the blocks lying on the bottom with no way for me to get them back, so maybe a bit of guidance would help
Otherwise, great game! I also liked that it is vertical, feels good for the mining type of game
Nice concept! You start to think twice before you jump, but also avoiding risks by basically wondering whether the next pit leads you to a trap.
Finished on a second try, loved the graphics and visual effects, had a strong "Hollow Knight" flashbacks :helicopter: With some dark slow ambient music, it's going to be even stronger :)
Quite ambitious game, very interesting concept reminding the Swapper
I was stuck on a bug when I couldn't select one of the bodies, when there were 3 of them, as people describing above
It was fun to play and the animations are so pleasant! One of the things could be improved is when you jump along the wall in a climb attempt, the mole start digging too early it feels. A double button press or the vertical speed condition could help maybe
I couldn't progress further than getting the first half of a password, assuming I need to guess the second one?
The game definitely stands out by creating the feeling you are using an old PC and this is incredibly well done! Congratulations
Perfect
Loved the narrative and light in the dorms. The game has a special mood for sure
I like this idea of blending FTL and a card game  Font size was a bit too small on my screen, but I guess it should be fixable by tweaking the Canvas Scaler options
Well polished graphics and balance
Awesome art
Loved the mechanics of improving your dice edges as a reward for winning in battles. Also, cards make total sense
A thing which is lacking is some clarity of dynamics, like what exactly happens on each movement step or battle action. Maybe some animations and effects could help to emphasis the game state change?
Anyway, it is the most gorgeous game I've seen so far on LD48
The atmosphere and music is amazing! Dialogue UI is also good as well as the fire / life indicator.
The thing I was struggling with is a jump button being either unresponsive or working with hold only. It might be related to the physics, because I managed to fire myself up into the ceiling once :)
I was pleasantly surprised to see a boss fight, it was cool, but a bit too easy.
Anyway, it is a great entry! Keep it up
Feels really scary, good job!
Loved the trance depth mechanic
Nice attempt on a co-op tower defence game! Very moody and a bit stressful, but definitely keeps you in the loop for quite some time
Well polished and the scope is just right for the compo! Love sniper games, I made one myself a while ago and I believe there is a lot of potential in your idea!
@fabioecco Yeah, sorry about that! Gamepad seems to be the best input type for this kind of mechanic
@fnkee Thank you! The ice breaking is based on input only, no extra random elements. Analogue input can be random enough while a player is learning :) The only additional thing which I did not mention in the game description is the ice strength reduces with distance to increase the difficulty gradually
@lmb Thanks for such a cool review!
Playing with sound is definitely increasing the tension which improves the overall experience :)
I also totally agree that having a 2D plane and maybe some items, obstacles or safe zones (not ice basically) can be great! Another idea I had is to let another player to control the hunter, so it could be a multiplayer chase game. What do you think? :)
@lb01 Thanks!
I thinks I might know why it can be too easy to just run through for some players  Currently, the pressure is measured between frames which can be affected by the framerate a lot :) Seems to be an easy fix if I'd want to iterate on this idea
@penguinmunch Haha, yeah, there are some bugs with the win conditions state, I forgot to pause the game after it's over :speak_no_evil: @nebiros @penguinmunch My bad, totally forgot to include restart feature
@gdesecrate Ouch! Sorry about that, I didn't check the support for Steam controllers, but I wonder if you could still use it while emulating as Xbox or PS controller?
@caudatecoder Thanks for the feedback! Good point on the controls instructions being unclear, maybe an interactive hint close to the foot should be displayed demonstrating the need to push triggers down slowly 🤔
Impressive compo entry! Fantastic job!
Great writing and I loved the Reason meter idea!
Fun and addictive! Firs the theme very well
Very hard game, I gave up after the second room, sorry  Good work on enemy patrols!
Nice little game! Like the art and palette choice  Sometimes, the space bar didn't work for me when standing diagonally to a server. Got over 700 score and quit after realizing the less the servers are left, the easier the game becomes, because you don't need to run too much around anymore  Anyway, good entry!
I like the concept, it was satisfying and quite smooth to move the pegs around for some time, until I found myself piled up with too many requests which couldn't fit into the screen anymore and started fail unpredictably. It can be a great puzzle game after some tuning of the difficulty spike and making the UI displaying the most relevant information in the late game
Good one! I was definitely having some fun finding the optimal strategy and ended up with something like this:
1. Do not rotate! 2. Fly above the level 3. Collect blue dots only when you really have to, picking the safe ones 4. PROFIT!
I wish there were more incentive to use rotation, but it was a fun and pleasant experience anyway! Like the art style very much:thumbsup:
Amazing! Love the visuals and sound  It's cool there are multiple paths through the level depending on your state and luck  I didn't understand the microphone purpose while playing, until I read your description afterwards  Great work!
Very good puzzle game, especially for the first ever game jam!
Almost finished it, nice game! I liked how your bullets are actually tied to your movement, so you can literally strafe together with your bullets :smirk:
Really liked the art style, music and some sound effects. Clicking the cats can be frustrating and feels like grind after some stages.
Awesome minimalistic art style. There is actually good difficulty curve, though it becomes really hard to micromanage you knights when a lot of enemies surround you castles.
Very well done! So realistic hacking :) Love the audio and graphics. Narrative is really good.
Almost perfect execution of such a well designed idea. A bit confusing waypoint system, it was hard to sync the movement with attack. Love the graphics style and especially pause animations.
Laughed so much :D
Just perfect!
Nice idea! Liked the background art. The game appeared to be extremely difficult since the very beginning, but it's possible to get used to it after several tries. Good job!
Fantastic game! So fun to play! I liked everything about it and was surprised how good controls actually are.
