Good Game , Nice Art 5/5!!!

thy-duck 2018-04-24 20:22

Nice work! Enemies should occur more often, it felt more like I was dodging the scenery and every now and then killing a monster. Other than that the graphics are nice, the sounds are pleasing, and the mechanics are smooth.

This guy followed me while giving me the cold shoulder for a minute or two.

First of, I'd like to recommend you to pack the thing in a convenient Zip or something. I went through some hurdles about downloading files and ordering folders (with Windows being as paranoid as ever, saying it could be a virus).

Once I actually got to play the game, I had some fun time. I like how there's a variety of enemies, and the tongue-in-cheek quests. There's some fun to be had in here. I actually laughed when I shoved a cat(?) with the shield and it went flying away.

My one concern were the quest givers. Sometimes they'd just give me the quest, and some other times, they'd take a long time either appearing or just hanging around. Can't tell if those were glitches or not given the nature of the pun quests, but still...

Anyhow, great work. Love voxels. In behalf of my team, we wish you the best of luck in your future projects. Cheers! :whale:

@Moski We just uploaded the Zip file, so that should be working now. The questguy has some bugs which we will fix in a future update. Glad you liked the catpunch, its our favourite feature too. :D Anyhows.. Thanks for the great feedback!

Wow, a very addictive game with a nice idea! I guess I will leave it on my laptop to play again after the end of LudumDare. Also, I would advise you to create a separate itch.io page if you plan future development.

I recommend this game. The graphics in voxel are awesome and the gameplay is intuitive. :)

arnaudvalensi 2018-04-25 21:29

That's very cool, I like the style and atmosphere. I just don't understand how to use the sword and shield, but it still very enjoyable to play. Thanks for this cool game! What do you use to make the models? Magicavoxel? Qubicle? Also, you can check our game here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/blocksnblaster-1

Very nice genre mix, once of the best games I've tried until now. Something I would like to play expanded, maybe in mobile format.

Surprisingly nice runner game, with hilarious tasks and nice bg music. Is this dragon could be killed? %)

anagf 2018-04-26 21:48

At first it was a bit hard to learn to use the sword, but once you do, you have a really good time. Really interesting, good concept, also with a lot of potential to develop further, funny and with neat graphics and audio. Good job! As an idea, if you make a post-jam with more features you could implement skills, different weapons or maybe a way to cut small trees on the go.

cg-fred 2018-04-27 18:33

Interesting concept. Liked the art and the game play. Could have ramped up the difficulty faster in my opinion which would increase the replay value. Some enemies spawn very close to you would be nicer if they appear more so I could have a better chance to react.

agrdev 2018-04-27 21:48

Just perfect!

meadjix 2018-04-27 22:26

Very nice game, the concept is really innovative and fun to play, by the way very good voxel art !

lelel 2018-04-29 11:17

Loved the Voxel Art Graphics and the game overall. It was a little bit too easy when you played it 3-4 times, the quests where really nice :)

elemental-zeal-game-studios 2018-04-30 22:45

Really liked the art, and overall very nice concept. I think the combat could have been a little more satisfying, but well done. :)

darkwing00duck 2018-05-01 11:36

One of the best games on jam. Excellent graphics and music based on good mechanics. Very polished and finished product.

I would be very glad if [you review my game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/last-stand-1) :mag:

aaron-nemoyten 2018-05-02 06:34

Oh man, that was silly. I love the incongruity of that western-inspired driving music while killing dragons. I also love that the quest giver just hunts you down and delivers quests and the only option is to accept them. It's like it works on its own, and as a parody of how RPGs work. Good times.

dreamer 2018-05-02 06:52

Nice Job

macdoom 2018-05-02 17:18

HAHA! Cool game man! I really liked the introduction you made for it in this page. Putting it inside the game would be a wise idea. The game looks cool and wacky, it was funny to play it. The driving mechanics could be more "car-ish", It felt like a vertical shooter a car and trees. Keep on the good work!

stitchesmagoo 2018-05-03 09:28

Super fantastic entry! I hope to see you do well!

tompk7 2018-05-03 23:56

Nicely done. You really sold it well with the over the top game description. Aesthetics are nicely done. The t-rex that follows you left and right looks a little unnatural. Also I didn't seem to get audio on the gamejolt html5 version. Good job on the design though. I hope you keep updating this.

lukesta 2018-05-04 16:34

Nice and fresh artwork and smooth gameplay. Also a nice combination of uncombinable genres the quest really felt stupid :)

shivur 2018-05-04 22:48

Fun game. Quests shouldn't appear with an ok button that pause the game because it breaks the rythm. Maybe a text that appear in a corner.

smaganik 2018-05-05 14:30

Awesome style, addictive gameplay, well done!

2018-05-15 17:01

Nice game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k82mDaf7ze8

cristiano-m-garcia 2018-05-15 17:17

Good job! Cool game!

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.
