I am not smart enough for this game :( but i like the idea :D
Took me a bit to understand what to do. I didn't realise you could hammer out letters which you can then put in other viewfields. Interesting type of puzzle game, great job on releasing your first ever jam game!
A really original take on the theme - I enjoyed the physics of being able to pile the letters on top of each other, but I think I found it quite hard to 'discover' what to do? But a brilliant effort in the time :)
Really cool, not bad for your first jam! The idea is nice, the way you have to duplicate letters and cut them up, then add them together to form new letters is cool. I tried to make the word 'beatable' and I just made the letter b, then suddenly the letters fell through the floor :( The bugs are a bit annoying, but since it's a small game it's not that big an issue. Nice job!
Nice little puzzle game! It's surprisingly fun to manipulate letters once you get the grasp of what's going on. Some more direction for the player would be nice IMHO. Maybe another filled word. Dunno, maybe it's just me.
Love the graphics and sound effects too!
There are quite some bugs that forced to reload the game a few times (letters disappear). But hey, it's compo. Great job!
Really cool idea! I was curious to explore the connections between the different letters and what cutting them will give me, but sadly the choppy movement, inability to use the hammer at times, and letters flying off-screen made it a bit too frustrating to complete. I can see that under the buginess there's a really interesting system and puzzle.
I also like the visual of a letter landfill. Cute :)
Very neat :ok_hand: I loved the concept!
I’m not sure what letters to put on the first screen, I tried something but I guess that wasn’t the correct answer.
It would have been much more enjoyable it we weren’t fighting for dislodging the letters, but at least you have an interesting concept.
Great entry for your first participation
I like it! I think I understand the premise of the game but the solve is not coming to me. Scrolling between the tools was a bit buggy, as I lost a few letters and had to restart. The functions of the tools seemed to work just right for me and it is pretty satisfying copying, cutting, and gluing letters together. Lots of potential to expand with more wordplay puzzles, other tools, and so on.
Awesome game bro! With some music and polish, it will be amazing, hope to see the post jam version soon ;)
A cool concept and a great puzzle! I didn't beat it because midway through a bug removed all my letters :( For your first game jam and under 48 hours, this is pretty good.
Very interesting puzzle!
It is a really cool idea for the puzzle, loved the aesthetics and the mecanics, that made a really interesting puzzle.
Very good puzzle game, especially for the first ever game jam!
Damn amazing puzzle game. It was a perfect difficulty curve for me. Took me 22:07. Really had me thinking hard and confused. Somehow you got me thinking that I figured it out, only to have to back-track and rethink the process. At first it seemed completely impossible, which made the "aha" moments extra fun.
Once I knew what I needed to do, I already had a ton of useless letters, and they often got cut/copied/glued without me actually putting them there. Maybe it would be better to only let the action happen when I'm holding on to a letter or when I mouseup in the activation area?
The sounds felt nice and crunchy, like the game was really doing the work to do what it's doing. Good job on telegraphic everything, I didn't read any tutorial and was able to figure it out. Thank you for the game.
That's a really good entry, the concept is simple but well operated ! I spent so much time cutting letters 😆
Best entry I have seen so far. I really wasn't expecting that. You should really keep this on. Publish this somewhere. Well done!!!
I found out how to play it in the comments section.I have to say, it's a fun game to play after learning how to play it! Forgive me for not finding the game so interesting at first
It took a little time to understand how to play, but I enjoy it :D
Cool concept, everything worked fine for me. A really good job for your first game jam.
Great idea! Graphics & Sound are spot on, especially impressive given this is your first game jam. Felt it needed little instructions but otherwise an awesome Entry!
Great entry. Love the graphics/sounds and general "What the hell" vibe. A bit difficult to finish for me as I'm not that good with puzzle games, but still really well polished
Interesting concept. The game has a nice consistent art and sounds. Hitting letters with the hammer was fun, stacking them high and then dropping them by removing a letter below was even more fun, putting words together words was fun too, but I have no idea what the goal of the game is.
I don't totally understand what I am supposed to do. I can move the letters into the boxes, but what is the objective?
@alvan-arulandu You can manipulate those letters in order to create a new word ! Find the correct word and the win is yours !
I adore your game. I have played There is No Game and I am actually not a big fan of it so I thought I wouldn't like your game, but your game does some thing that There is No Game couldn't, your game actually give player the freedom to mess around and doesn't feel like a linear adventure that player is forced down. Obviously there are specific steps you need to take to finish the game, but I love that in your game I am allowed to just copy letters over and over and it feels like I am messing with the game, rather than being given a very specific interaction that I need to use in a very specific way and in no other way in order to progress. Really well done!
Interesting idea and implementation, I would love to play a similar game on the phone!
That's good for your first jam! Maybe it will be better to add hints, but I quickly understand, what about game is :)
02:39. But I could not have done it, if I hadn't read the solution in the comments. I'm a bit disappointed that "winnable" was not an alternate winning solution. Beyond that, I'm very impressed how great and well-thought-out your first ldjam entry was. Really nice.
@j0ye Winnable was a solution, I just did an error in game design where an "i" is not just a bar, it is the product of a bar and a dot, so you probably had it right.
wow that's a very interesting idea! you are great on the theme)
