the game kind of bugs out when they call the police, i cant hit try again, and when i hit quit, the game crashes and i have to reload the window. other then that the game felt satisfying to play. and i liked the fact you had to shoot the guy to start the level. maybe you could add mode where you score on where you shoot the person on the body. nice game.

Love the look and feel of this - satisfying animation goes a long way. 'Try again' screen bugs out and requires a page reload, and I didn't get to the "rival sniper" thing - the game ended after the third level for me. I'd like to see more!

Thanks for playing yall! Submission hour was preeetty hectic, so it seems all the scene stuff messed up. The rival sniper scenes weren't even in the game...
I have uploaded a fixed build with rival sniper scenes and fixed reloading. Thank you <3.
A solid game!
I love the aesthetics. The "confirm" kill between levels is pretty clever! It was quite easy to complete and it doesn't exactly fits the theme but still a great job!
I loved the graphics and it worked fine. I did not understand it some times but it the end it was a fun game. Sad you did not used the theme.
A very simple but very polished game! The way that the characters get hit and die with the way you go through the menu is absolutely perfect. Many ideas are implemented too! I feel that the rival has done very little throughout, though. An endless mode would also be very cool. Great game!
Well that was maybe even a bit too easy. 🤷♂️

Panicing people really liked pile up to a same spot and they can be killed with a single shot. This made the multiple target levels a cake walk unless the employee decided to pile up there too.
I never actually let anyone call the police. Seems like the timer for it is so damn long. And since there was no penalty for killing civilians, might as well blast everyone. Even in the last level, it was easy enough to first scroll to one side and then pan to other side killing all the targets (or just everyone but the employee).
The rival sniper didn't really pay any role on my two runs at all either. Wouldn't make much difference if it wasn't there at all. A weird detail to name the whole game about. The scare shots were also another mechanic that was introduced but wasn't really needed (or could even be used) at all.
The mega low rez style looked neat. The CRT effect looked kinda neat here too, just super surprising to me that someone would actually pay for such a simple shader. I just didn't like the color palette at all. And having two of the nearly same colors for majority of targets was kinda annoying to me. Well I guess it was the only source of real difficulty here.
The mid level conversation were pretty nice and the confirm shots were cool but the pacing on em didn't feel right. The text isn't very readable and the skip for the second message always came a bit too fast. I completely missed the whole existence of the rival sniper until the last level because of this.
The view scrolling was very glitchy. Pretty much every time when you changed direction, there was this annoying jitter towards the first direction before changing. And the scroll area not being clear was kinda annoying too as it made it harder to hit targets near the edge as the screen might start suddenly moving. Might have been better to just control it with keys (or better yet, both).
Anyways, good job! 👍

Revisited this since the rival scenes were added. Nice addition! In practice, it wasn't really anything to worry about, but conceptually it's a good way to spice the game up.

@antti-haavikko Wow, thats a lotta feedback! And I agree with a lot of it.
I had almost no time to work during this jam, so I didn't really test anything beyond basic functionality .
Seriously thank you for all this feedback, I really appreciate it :).

I really like this pixel dot "crosshair" on the screen :) satisfying animation when you hit. good job !
This was really fun. Reminded me of a browser game I used to play with a similar concept. The little story woven into this is refreshing for a compo entry. Overall I had a blast playing it and was sad when it was over. Nice!
I liked the visuals and this game seems like a good start for something. I would have liked the rival sniper to do more since that's where the name of the game comes from. Still, it was a neat experience, keep up the good work!
It was fun sniping the characters. The mood and vibe were cool. You did a good job putting it together. By the end, I wanted more content. It was just fun to try and get those colorful blobs. Do please try and get something more in the theme next time - maybe the people could have been on roller skates and always tripping over themselves because they were unstable? Still, it was a fun experience. Thank you for the game.

Well polished and the scope is just right for the compo! Love sniper games, I made one myself a while ago and I believe there is a lot of potential in your idea!

This was awesome. Very memorable graphics, with or without CRT. Missions are few but the whole is well rounded, you are clearly good at managing a compo project. I only wish there is a free shooting mode.

Really liked the setting and atmosphere! The theme of the sniper was really interesting although maybe not too fitting with the jam theme. Quite fun overall! Sometimes it was a little confusing to know what to do, and the text was hard to read.
The game looks great and is fun to play, but is a bit on the easy side.

Reminded me of Spy Party. Fun, easy to understand with minimal retro graphics, funny you have to kill the narrator that died already. It's a bit hard to tell when the others can't detect a shot but the levels are still beatable regardless. Nice job.

This was a well crafted game. It is a shame you couldn't find a way to tie in the theme, but regardless it was fun to play. The graphical style was well done, and the mechanics were easy to understand. You did a great job adding additional information as the player progressed through the levels.

Fun game, but I found it to be a little to easy. I enjoyed the retro graphics!
Simple, but playable. It's a bit slow-paced -- being able to click to advance the text would help, and panning the screen could be faster. But it works well for what it is. It's too bad you weren't able to work in the theme!
