It's addictive, and I like that the game has several levels, but there is one serious problem with the shooting. The projectiles obviously move with the player. If you shoot straight down, and start walking to the right, the bullet will fly to the right and down. This makes it impossible to aim properly. Otherwise great, the music is not stressful at all and complements the game!

Neat idea with the heist mechanics! Feels like the game maybe didn't even need shooting and could be centered around dodging or taking cover instead.

Not sure if it was intended, but the bullets move with your character. Which reminds me of that bullet bender movie. I enjoyed it, well done.

Yeah, I didn't even realize that the bullets moved with the player. (dumn me not realising that I'm making the bullets children of the player)

Cool game with nice graphics and AWESOME soundtrack. Love the music and mood in your game. The gameplay was fun, a bit repetitive, but hey, it's Ludum Dare, so every game is repetitive/short, so that's okay. Just like @ludokultur said, the game could work even without shooting. So maybe it would be cool to have some kind of stealth mechanic? But that's just an idea :) well done mate

Nice game! I liked the BUllet graphic, and the sound was great. I also liked the idea of adding a lot of branching paths to confuse the player and increase the chance to encounter living enemies, although I usually managed to backtrack properly. The bullets and lives carrying over between levels felt weird, as they were playable in any order anyway, but other than that, good entry!

I don't know why but I kinda dig the programmer art "Among Us VS Pepe The Frog" :P I really like the fact that you've included several levels, it really does add to the overall "complete-ness" of the game. I think a little more variety in game/level design would be a good way to further this game's potential, along with some graphical improvements probably

Nice game! The art is good and the music fits. Being instakilled if hit while holding the bomb is a really cool mechanic. One thing that bothered me was how the bullets moved with the player, shooting felt strange.

So, just to sum up, 1. I didn't realise at all that bullets traveled with the player, and it will be fixed once jam is over, 2. the game was originally built around the concept of not shooting, instead making sure you are not shot. I added that you could shoot as well, because it made more sense from the story perspective 3. Did not notice the bug with the bullet glitching in the wall 4. If you don't pick up a pickup, that pickup will still be there in future levels. And no its not purposeful, I just forgot to wipe all pickups when restarting level. 5. Are you telling me I should have not opted out on Humor? but anyways glad that you liked my characters. 6. People actually liked my sound-track!?

Nice game. You added some perspective feeling with the top half of the hero that can traverse walls, but it introduces a bug. The bullets starts inside the wall, and are instantly cancelled. You can not fire when you stand near a wall.

I liked the guards that spawns after you picked up the bionite. It adds a real importance to the fact that you get instakilled when you hold the bionite.

It needs an ending. Spoiler alert : nothing happens when you finish all the levels.

At the last level, there is a heart floating in space. Is it possible to take it, or is it just a decorative troll ?

Ahhh @recher first of all Thanks for playing the game btw.

Secondly, yeah, might have been interesting to add an ending of some sort. Will look into that with future games.

Thirdly, didn't actually realise at all about the bullet in wall bug.

And lastly, that heart in space was left there from one of the previous rounds when you didn't pick it up, as I never actually told the game to remove all instances of the pickups when you restart a level. :(

Nice game. Made it a challenge to try and complete each level without firing a shot. Almost made it through half of them :smile: I found aiming a bit difficult but I couldn't really put my finger on why.

Almost finished it, nice game! I liked how your bullets are actually tied to your movement, so you can literally strafe together with your bullets :smirk:

Really great job! Simple game but has exciting moments. I like the heist concept and think it worked well. As others have said, your bullets move with the camera, which made it hard to run and gun which would add some fun imo. Also Impressive you made so many levels. Well done!

Good take on the theme. I think maybe it would have been better if you couldn't shoot. I just killed all the guards on the way in and then had no danger on the way out. Also there was an odd bug where sometimes I would constantly run left for a while. The sound effects were good.

Nice little game. I liked the cute pixel based characters. I completed all six stages without too many problems. I noticed that your bullets would move along with the character, which was awkward at first, but I eventually got the hang of it.

The game seemed too simple until I noticed that bullets moving along with the character and took it for an advantage. The theme may be not flashed out properly, but overall concept and surprizing "bullet bug/feature" just worked for me =) Nice game and good job!

You put together quite a few levels - some of them surprisingly elaborate! Being very vulnerable when trying to run back was interesting - sometimes I felt like it was better to just run through and other times kill off the enemies on the way, depending on if I got a good enough cover. As others already mentioned: I wasn't sure if the 'bullets move with your character' is a feature or not, but I tried using it to my advantage.

Overall a solid entry that fits the theme!

Linking the bullets to the character made things a bit tricky! Nice amount of levels, but it would have been nice to have more variety, e.g., a level focused on dodging.

OMG, they killed Kenny, those bastard. But actually they didn't, I managed to win all 6 levels (impressive amount) without getting killed. Anyway, nice game, it looks and sounds good and consistent and is fun to play. I didn't even notice the bullets following the player until reading the comments.
