LD46 — Keep it alive

Kevin the Can by BoltKey 2020-04-20T19:45:42Z

Pretty graphics, good audio, challenging gameplay and levels, instructions. What I would change are the sizes of the objects visible, it would be cool to have it zoomed in and just pointers to the flowers needing attention on the screen, so partially blindly exploring the world.

Got to Find Out by marvalgames 2020-05-01T07:59:51Z

The gameplay is very cool and logical, it's easy to learn the game in the first minute of playing. Sounds are also well fitting the game. Visually it looks betten on a screenshot because the camera is so far from the player and I can't even see when the enemy is dead.

The Keep! It's Alive! by minibobbo 2020-04-21T20:14:15Z

Amazing! The graphics, the audio, the gameplay! As you said in your blog post, it **IS** really polished!

Save the Space Whales! by Aik 2020-04-20T09:45:13Z

It was very difficult to control (W swapped with D). A very challenging game but you might zoom the camera out a bit. Also regarding Flixel, you could have compiled it for HTML5 instead of Flash to be more modern ;)

Another f****ng escort mission by dodormeur 2020-04-20T17:40:15Z

5/5 for the audio and humor - this narration is outstanding :joy:. I also thought at first about adding my voice into my game but didn't find any place for it.

Keep the IT department alive by johnicholas 2020-04-20T18:59:50Z

Very cool "lights out" clone. I found the fourth level already too challenging.

A Letter To Ed by zoglu 2020-04-20T19:17:01Z

The game is beautiful in terms of art - graphics and music and challenging. I couldn't do it without the clues :joy:

Soul Survivor by fakefrogsonly 2020-04-21T15:33:39Z

Very cool game, great graphics despite its simplicity and good audio. It would be amazing to be able to shoot diagonally. Hope you continue the work on it.

Also thanks to you I found out about that cool tool which is sfxia, it feels better than sfxr :p

Bubby by dnp 2020-04-20T17:31:01Z

I absolutely don't know what Bubby is. The puzzle mix with realtime is cool. The graphics of course would need rework. Also I would make the text larger or more visible (in the center). I am glad that you didn't forget the tutorial!

A Data Story by beetracks 2020-04-19T23:01:31Z

I love the simplicity. Would be cool to see it taken to Google Play and App Store.

Ludum Dare 46 Entry: Tree Sim by Alex Mulkerrin 2020-04-19T23:26:48Z

Amazing stuff! And I can even take a photo . And those names

Ludum Dare 46 Entry: Tree Sim by Alex Mulkerrin 2020-04-20T09:40:49Z

The tamagotchi of trees. I adore the graphics. Although some soothing music in the background would improve it!

LavaLampSpaceMission by Fabian G 2020-04-20T17:44:24Z

I always like the moment of taking random objects and making it into a game. The controls are a bit dodgy - maybe rotate the camera with the player? Overall it is a challenging puzzle!

Tower Defence of the Heart by terry 2020-04-26T12:19:47Z

The graphics look well, good pixel art. Controls are self-explanatory. Although, the game is very difficult, I couldn't make it through past third wave! Maybe needs some better money weighing when killing an enemy? _(I found your game via Haxe Roundup and instantly remembered your name and Hexagon, so I had to check out your work )_

CODE B12 by Justin Toyo 2020-04-20T17:35:32Z

Graphics and gameplay: stunning. The instructions and twitter handle in the background of the game: amazing. Only the music is too repetitive. Way to go!

The Sky Land by rk0307 2020-05-01T08:27:14Z

Graphics are amazing, although you could work on camera and near-clipping (sometimes I see the walls that are behind the character). Music and sounds are ok. Mouse is a bit too sensitive but it's my own preference. I really like the idea of checkpoints (although I don't want to say what it looks like when activated lol). And the intro is a brilliant idea!

Alien EMT by Zypo 2020-04-23T12:21:54Z

The graphics are very cool, I really like how the camera works that the player can change gradually from the top-view to just behind the vehicle. However, the gameplay is pretty confusing and not much is happening around. You also cannot pan the world to see where to go and often the clouds obstruct the view. However, if you were given more time, I bet this game would be a new idea for being published.

Gunther's Plant 😃 by Lemons 2020-05-01T08:08:32Z

BRILLIANT! When I heard original voices, I already knew it - you got me with this game, 3x yes! Audio as said is amazing because of the voice. The idea - witty. Winning by losing? Clever!

PS. And tile tearing is not only Godot's problem, some OpenFL/HaxeFlixel games as well (https://haxeflixel.com/demos/FlipRotationAnimationTiles/).

Feed Me! by caeonosphere 2020-04-24T18:51:48Z

A great game! Graphics are awesome, although some more objects can be introduced and the pits sometimes blend. Audio fits the gameplay, there's music as well. However, the gameplay is somewhat confusing - like what are the rules of the creature behaves according to whistles - somethimes it just follows, sometimes is jumps. I added your game to my [favorites](https://furfel.com/posts/ld46-and-finally-on-https) ;)

Egg Mother - Keep It Alive! by Barrier 2020-04-20T19:33:13Z

A cat with its egg... Has science gone too far? The gameplay is very cool and challenging, the graphics are pretty

Circuit in Distress by LyghtningWither 2020-04-20T17:03:23Z

A cool idea but I feel like the game is unfinished: what am I exactly suppose to do? How is attention casted on the persons? However, what I really liked was that the audio part was quite complete.

Reasonably Safe Working Conditions by CooperJKnapp 2020-05-01T07:48:16Z

By looking at the cover and screenshots, I was quite hyped because the game looks absolutely amazing visually. However, my ~~disappointment came when it turned out to be just a demo without particular objective~~ oh ok, it's for two players :forever-alone:. But the mechanics and graphics are brilliant! I hope you continue the work and build it for single player because it looks very promising.

It Lives by Sbug 2020-04-20T09:34:37Z

OMG, the gameplay is so cool! Although it was very difficult to start at first (a tutorial would be nice) and after time, the creature locked itself between the barn and hay, but the whole idea is stunning!

Only One More by Physiker2001 2020-05-01T07:42:10Z

An interesting game, good graphics, pretty difficult but very hard to control: player must place the glass exactly in the proper spot.

CosmoDoggie by ItsHornUnicorn 2020-04-25T15:50:20Z

Very difficult but that's not bad. The physics and graphics are amazing. The audio could be leveled properly: **headphone user alert**

Not Clowning Around! by Wilson Taylor 2020-04-19T23:18:25Z

A clown and an alcoholic... What can go wrong :joy:? Easy mode is not that easy, I don't even dare to try "nightmare"

Dicelem: Rise of the Golem v0.9.0 - demoversion by Snory 2020-04-20T09:51:58Z

The mix of turn-based and defender style is a way to go, big plus for this idea. Although the game lacks audio and graphics can be improved, I look forward to see you continue to work on it.

Keep I.T. alive by CrashApe 2020-04-21T10:04:13Z

You should have named it "Scrum Master"! Sounds are great but I would also appreciate a quacking from time to time. Graphics could be animated. Overall the gameplay and idea is fantastic!

Uncle Dale's Farm by FatEagleGames 2020-04-19T22:58:18Z

When I saw the cover, I got very attached. When I heard the sounds, I went out of body. :joy: :joy: :joy:

Keep Clive Alive by SoupornoGhosh 2020-04-20T17:15:39Z

The second game about suicide so far, what an LD! The music and the storytelling genre was amazing. The game was pretty easy and reminds me of those Flash times of ButtonHunt. What I would add is some more visuals that match each other (a photographic gun in the hands of a pixelated dude).

RoboCharger by technosander 2020-04-20T18:54:30Z

The gameplay is well done, the graphics could be improved by animations and zooming out so the player can see more.

Air Jump by Konstantin Abezgauz 2020-04-20T17:26:02Z

The first thing I noticed: the font - I was wondering if you did paint it yourself but all the letters are the same, so I assume it is a "proper" font. The music is great for such a game, the graphics of course need improvement. What I really enjoyed was the crazy physics.

Where did this baby come from? by maxflav 2020-04-20T09:37:55Z

Interesting logic game. What I would add is some animations and overall graphics improvements. Hope you continue it and take it to App Store/Play

Protectors Of The Core by Dryden 2020-04-23T12:27:08Z

The game is very simple, the graphics are quite pretty but confusing (background blends with actual objects). Sounds are ok, music is good. Hope you will polish it in the future. I see that you included a graphics setting but it didn't do anything for me (no change seen in both visuals and GPU activity).

The Adventures of Eggbert by BattleCat 2020-04-19T22:43:19Z

Is the name origin related to "the Speedy Eggbert"?

Social Life by CharlieGray 2020-04-19T23:23:15Z

Coffee is not that much of an actual energy  Is it okay that the fields "jump" when switching which one to move (on Linux)?

Fusionator by kimist42 2020-04-20T19:23:13Z

I really don't get what I should do in the game. I tried the gauges on the right to control something but I only ended up going into debt. Also do the controls on the left do anything? I thing there was somewhat of an exceptional idea behind it but I don't seem to understand (or it is unfinished).

Firekeeper by Minrato2 2020-04-21T10:14:22Z

The graphics are beautiful, altho the animations could be smoother. The idea and gameplay is very cool with that going though darkness and power-ups for better skills. Some better audio would be also appreciated. I hope that you continue the work on this game and release it as it looks promising.

Memories by Artaupossum 2020-04-20T17:21:24Z

It's very short but that's what have been already said. What I would definitely add is some text (in-game) narrating what is happening around. You did a good job with the visuals - enough detail for 8x8 sprites. I also like that there's music although it is too repetitive (don't know how long tracks Pico8 allows).

A Gleam In The Dark by Haro Games 2020-04-23T12:15:49Z

I really enjoyed this game. Great graphics with great effects, mystery in the darkness sets a special mood. What I would consider adding is some more audio (for example for the wolves) and reworking the graphics - this painting style is picturesque but visible done in a hurry

LifeLine - Music Pattern Obstacle Dodge by WZQXRYS 2020-04-23T12:07:09Z

I especially like the way it is like a heavy drug trip . And those repeated graphics adds some alcohol to it. Remember kids, don't do either  better play this!

Monster Apocalypse by Abiral 2020-04-25T15:47:00Z

I really loved the animations - the way character moves when moving. Also the banana gun was a great idea to keep it family friendly rated . The audio could be more developed.

Save Ivee by Furfel 2020-04-20T17:08:00Z

Thanks guys for the feedback! @maxflav @sbug: I actually had WASD at the beginning. The mouse-rotation movement was something I thought I would use, but after all it just became a leftover of all the random ideas :joy:. @snory, @alex-mulkerrin: glad, you noticed the tutorial - often LD games lack one and I barely know how to play.

Sourdough Starter Kit by Edearth 2020-04-20T19:18:10Z

Amazing, those physics with those graphics remind me of those ragdoll flash games pre-2010.

Stand Still by Draelent 2020-04-23T12:10:01Z

To be fair, I am now commenting on the first version: the gameplay is simple and quite self explainatory after two deaths. And yet it is very hard as the level of difficulty is high as well from the beginning!

LD49 — Unstable

The Potion Cellar by mactinite 2021-10-05T16:45:45Z

Now I know what NPCs are doing behind the scenes! Graphics and music are amazing. I tried in fullscreen at first and grinding didn't work as it was reading mouse movements as too slow all the time

Unstable Firefighter by digitaldude555 2021-10-07T16:16:41Z

That's so cool, it's like mix of those point-and-click and a platformer, it's also good that the mechanics are not limited to one "weapon/tool"

Beep Boop Boba by candlesan 2021-10-04T07:12:08Z

I had a lot of fun playing this game! Really, it's challenging and you have to think fast. Sometimes it's difficult to figure out and remember what machine is doing what, it would be good to also have text hints (like double ice).

Monster Burger by Glen Chang 2021-10-07T16:33:59Z

That's pretty cool! It's not the usual "restaurant game" but some different mix up. Although the controls are quite difficult to learn and there's no undo/cancel/drop ingredient so you have to finish the burger messed up nevertheless.

Egg Barrage by Prostone 2021-10-05T16:36:33Z

Funny puzzle game, but the controls need rework, why do i have to click every time to take the crate - but it's good to have a laptop with touchscreen :sunglasses:

Surgeon Rush by erkerkiii 2021-10-05T16:53:16Z

I like the graphics, the idea is also cool. What I would change is controls: I move using keyboard and hit using mouse button regardless where the cursor is

Jenga DESU ! by Kaiomoi 2021-10-05T18:55:01Z

Hilarious! But it's difficult to properly place blocks because one is getting into another and jumps out

Beer Quest by jepjoh2 2021-10-05T16:30:45Z

Pretty cool as a small RPG, although perspective is weird. And I didn't know that Lazarus can now export to HTML5 :D how time flies

Kingdom of Chaos by AXLplosion 2021-10-05T18:50:19Z

As chaotic and random as quantum mechanics!

Home Renos Inc. by Pincushion 2021-10-05T20:02:01Z

Pretty cool lego simulator

Space Squabble by GoldenEvolution 2021-10-04T16:56:41Z

Funny dialogues, you should have recorded them so it would have even better effect. Still the game is fun! And finally a space game where you don't have to shoot aliens

Celestial Waltz by gasgiant 2021-10-04T19:45:19Z

The three body problem is all in all interesting to be used but this doesn't seem to be a game, rather a toy. What is the objective? What is the goal? But the graphics generated by this a very pretty.

Unstable Employee Rabbit by JoshuaRabbit 2021-10-07T16:26:58Z

Absolutely funny, especially the sounds but also that "can be solved by (HR)"

Unstable Mines by AppoxGames 2021-10-04T08:20:50Z

Innovative and plenty of fun!

Unidentified Stacking Object by Arttu Halonen 2021-10-05T19:06:25Z

I think that endurance mode would be enough because the game is already hard enough :D

Jumpy Train! by Szkocka 2021-10-05T16:26:35Z

Cool game, I like that lighting. However, sometimes it's difficult to measure when to jump

UNTetris by JaviCoder 2021-10-04T08:30:02Z

Beautiful yet simple graphics. The levels are balanced well leading player from easy to difficult. Sometimes the blocks feel too "heavy" to drag them though.

The Pearl Thief by Furfel 2021-10-04T08:08:53Z

Thanks for the kind feedback!

@appoxgames - yes, with less stability you have less chance of spacebar triggering shooting ;)

The Pearl Thief by Furfel 2021-10-07T16:11:18Z

Thanks everyone for the kind comments ;)

@digitaldude555 - yes, it's planned - the less stability there is, the less likely space will be registered. And kraken can only be hit when it's going for the pearl or staying on it - that's also planned for more difficulty ;D

The Nuclear Ball by 0X_VOID_X0 2021-10-05T16:48:36Z

This is great, it reminds me of my first published game. It's simple but very challenging

Gunslinger Glitch by ugly_robot 2021-10-04T16:17:20Z

The concept is absolutely amazing, direct 5 for innovation! It was very difficult for me to tell what is real and what not :D I don't know if you generated faces on your GPU but there's website for that: thispersondoesnotexist.com :P

A Hard Pill to Swallow by osh.studio 2021-10-04T16:49:26Z

Hand drawn black on white cutscene, funny mood, that kind of mid 2000s flash games. Astounding!

Happy Stable by Meita 2021-10-07T16:21:16Z

Absolutely great! But there should be some countdown/indicator when the keys will change.

the end by Dennis Magnusson 2021-10-04T16:26:49Z

I loved those cutscenes. I had to look into the source if that was library of some kind or if you implemented it yourself and you indeed did, well done!

The totally-safe-and-explosion-free Heist by Fonkin 2021-10-04T08:25:50Z

I like the guards' look - aka pepe the frog. The music fits pretty well.

Unstable pathing by arachnid56 2021-10-04T07:03:05Z

The gameplay is challenging, I had to think first what path would I take before pressing the first key. I see that you used Heaps - yes, that's a pretty tough library to use especially for 48h
