Love the simple control scheme, it get's quite diffecult in trhe end. It was a really nice twitst on the theme.
Wait... do cats lays eggs now ?
Nice game, the birds are fun and hard to deal with. Good Job !
(And it's super cute !)
Good job, simple, rewarding, and fun gameplay! The addition of 'i' honestly was a great idea. Glad you thought of everyone who may want to experience your full game :)
Simple yet satisfying controls!
Easily the most fun game I played so far! Felt well balanced (a good challange without beeing too hard). Fun sound effects and a neat gameplay mechanic.
A cat with its egg... Has science gone too far? The gameplay is very cool and challenging, the graphics are pretty
* The color coded bugs are cool - it's neat that you know what they'll do based on their color, and they change color when you scare them off. * The birds turn very quickly, I got chomped just by dashing into theirs backs sometimes. * I like the sound effects: the way birds laugh as they sneak up on the egg and their beak sounds are nice. * It would be nice to be able to predict when the birds were going to dash. Some visual or audio indicator there would help. * The little flip turning animation is great.
Incredible sound design!
Funny game, the difficulty is well balanced, that's cute and nice! Good job :)
Love the art and sound. Very good difficulty curve.
Another fresh take on an asteroids game. I like the controls for fighting the bugs. Feels like smearing them out with that delayed cat motion. Distracting the bird on the other hand, I never fully mastered... :smirk:
Refreshing new take, with a twist. I like!
Funny, the enemies were neat. I liked the juggling you had to do between stomping bugs and making sure the birds weren't aimed at the egg. To improve it, I think you just need a few more levels + enemy types. Nice work.
Nice game which really feels like the makings of a hypercasual game or something. The bird was quite hard to deal with, and I'm not sure if hitting the beak vs its back did much the first time. But it was simple to play and fun because of that, so good job!
I feel like squashing the bugs could turn into some sort of combo system somehow. Like killing one allows you to leap to another nearby or something to rack up some sort of score multiplier. Something to think about!
Everything was fine until I mess with the wrong bird. The sound crack me up. It was very fun, maybe check the controls and make them a bit smoother. I like it so much that I didn't mind getting reminded of the cats movie.
That was very cute :) the enemy amount progression feels smooth and challenging, and the game is just long enough to be fresh. I think you would benefit from some music and some more animations like the cat dash.
The most fun game I've played this Ludum dare yet!!! Missed some music and a cooldown indicator for the dash but otherwise, really fun!!! Kinda cute as well.
Simple but fun and kind of pretty, as always. By the way, I started hating bluebirds after playing this game.
Funny game, a feedback for the dash cooldown is a little bit missing though ! Nice job =)
I saw the kitty(or the cat in egg? )!! The style of graphics is very my favorite type
As the others have been saying, this is a good cute game. It does a good job ramping up and the invulnerability button is a nice touch for those of us who are really annoyed by the birds but really want to see baby egg-cats.
Also, I appreciated how the bug color indicated each bug's intent. It was a good way to signal which bugs were a threat and which weren't. Though, even when they weren't being aggressive, I was always suspicious they might turn. (Innocent little green bugs... I'm looking at you.)
The scale of difficulty between the bird (who you could do nothing about but distract) and the other bugs was a bit stark. It may have been fun to have an enemy that you could still squash, but you had to approach from a certain angle, like the bird. That really isn't essential though.
Overall, good game. Thanks for sharing
Player movement and squashing those bugs are super satisfying! I love the bird mechanics too. Great game.
First off love the derpy sound and visuals. It adds a lot of character I hate that damn bird tho (but in a fun way)
I haven't seen this kind of control scheme in a while
I like the funny sound effects ... except that the 'agitated bird creature' one plays _constantly_.
This has already been mentioned, but still: Also props for putting an accessibility feature ('i') in a jam game!
@Everyone Thanks for playing and for feedback! :)
I see it was a good idea to include the invincibility cheat.
And yes this "cat" lays eggs!
It's technically not a cat, its an alien cat like creature from a different planet, but there was not enough time to explore the whole setting ;)
