Excellent concept! A little more detail in the movement would have been good, since careful moving felt pretty difficult when having to do corners, but other than that, solid effort!

Good job on submission. Quite a simple puzzle game. However I do find the mechanic not fully explored and there are a lot more potentials.

Thanks for the game.

Very intriguing and a perfect fit for the theme! :)

The gameplay is challenging, I had to think first what path would I take before pressing the first key. I see that you used Heaps - yes, that's a pretty tough library to use especially for 48h

Overall a super simple and fun little puzzle game. Some walking animations and some music/sound effects would have been great, but else a pretty good jam game.

That felt like a good mixture of puzzle and just trying to figure it out as you go. Also you managed to add in a good amount of levels! It felt forgiving enough that when I accidentally went down a wrong path I could still hop back while a box was falling, which I liked. A great fit for the theme! The possibility to zoom into the scene and rotate the whole room using the mouse was unexpected :D

Made it through all the levels, pretty fun. Agree that there was probably scope for more you could do with this concept, I was expecting to get to some more crazy levels, with higher difficulty. With a couple of extra little mechanics e.g. one way steps or something you could probably get quite a ful game out of this. Felt the full top down 3d was a bit overkill and didn't really help the mechanics, would be easier to read whats going on in just straight 2d or a more clean 3d, but hey.

A simple little puzzle game where you have to choose the right path to get to the end. It's essentially the ice puzzle from the last gym in pokemon ruby/sapphire, but deeper because you have to execute your pathing quickly so you don't fall. It's a neat idea for a game and fits the theme really well!

I really respect who do compo, hard to believe that some people can make a game in 2 days :D Nice and simple puzzle game! It would be nice the character has animation, but level design is good! I like it. up.png

Took me a whole minute of frustration to figure out I need to click the "play" text. Doesn't seem like a button. I was just mashing WASD and the mouse.

After I got into it, it was pretty fun! I would recommend using "keydown" events to move the character. When you use "keyup" then the game feels unresponsive, like there's some kind of lag. To prevent unintended double-pressing, you can have a boolean like "hasPressed" which becomes `true` on the first `keydown` and is set to `false` on every `keyup`.

Still was nice to figure out the pathing for each level, a fun challenge. Thank you for the game.

This was a fun little puzzle game. It was very hard to see what was going on though, as the game rendered very tiny in the middle of the screen for me (playing in Firefox on Linux, if that helps):

Overall I enjoyed it still, thanks for sharing!

Very good prototype, has potential for further growth. Perfectly fit for theme. I would like more levels, the current levels are passed quickly :)

betamorfosis 2021-10-06 16:00

Quite a relaxing puzzle game, feels nice to be able to complete this one after some challenging ones. I noticed by accident you could rotate and move the camera, was not expecting that ahah

duck-reaction 2021-10-06 17:43

It's an very interesting puzzle game. The difficulty is quite balanced.

With more animations, sound and FX the game will be very funny. The gameplay fit perfectly the theme.

Good job, keep coding :muscle:

Nice and challenging concept! I would recommend a minismalist sound for moving and falling floors and maybe add extra juice like a tween between jumps.

greenxenith 2021-10-09 19:30

Really fun puzzle system. Could use some simple sounds or animations, but otherwise fun.

hiisileiri 2021-10-09 19:37

Interesting game play, simple mechanics. This would have more levels, sounds, graphic variations and polishing. Nice game for compo, and nothing but playable and also interesting.

sli 2021-10-09 20:48

Nice puzzle. You hooked it well with the theme. I'd Love some sound :cat:

lmb 2021-10-11 22:23

_Very_ interesting idea and interpretation of the theme!

On the last level, my character was falling even if I did nothing (had to move quickly to not lose immediately). Not sure if this was intentional, but I preferred the more relaxed experience of the previous levels, in which I could think a bit before moving.

ixchow 2021-10-11 22:25

Reasonable puzzle system -- felt like it could use "one more thing" to really get a variety of levels going. Maybe some sort of moving platforms?

Two notes on controls: - it feels like there is a short lag between when you start a move and when the move completes, during which pressing a key again doesn't trigger another move. This can feel like the game "eating" inputs and is especially annoying in a situation where I'm focused on entering a string of keypresses quickly. - in discrete-steps puzzle games, I prefer "Increpare Standard" controls (have both "undo" and "reset" and undo can undo resets). There's a debate to be had about whether having "undo" stands counter to the performance aspect of this puzzle (needing to make a choice within a few seconds of stepping on a red block); on the other hand, I found the performance aspect of the puzzles to perhaps be the most frustrating.

(Also, much like a poster above, I definitely got tripped up by the "Play" non-button on the start screen.)

Overall, fun enough that I did complete it, so that's saying something.

Overall, a fun game with a number of puzzles. :) Interesting to add timing to an overall simple puzzle mechanic. I suppose it comes across as an action puzzler in a way, though I found myself planning all of my routes ahead of time, tapping R, then executing. I solved all of the puzzles and was hoping to see another mechanic but still happy to have played it.

jonathan-lorenz 2021-10-20 11:24

A simple puzzle game, not spectacular but enjoyable. Would have like to see more twists with the gameplay and the mechanics. And a bit of audio too. Good work overall!

hiko-game 2021-10-21 03:27

I like this puzzle + action mechanics. I want more difficult level. But, well Done!!
