LD39 — Running out of Power

Inconvenient Drone Convention by PeculiarCarrot 2017-08-01T02:35:02Z

This is a great game. It has excellent music, controls well, and that description made me laugh. That said, I never felt like I needed to use the boost. It was a bit of a wasted opportunity.

Game of Cows by greysphere 2017-08-01T04:17:59Z

Pretty fun game. However, I didn't get very many crops to plant and way to many tools. I don't know if I was just unlucky but you may wan't to adjust the appearance rates of the cards. Otherwise good work.

Runaway Convoy by Hilvon 2017-07-31T20:06:48Z

I did not expect a puzzle game but I was pleasantly surprised. The difficulty was really well balanced. It took me several attempts but I never felt frustrated. Every attempt I was able to improve. This was the best game I played so far. Good work!

Run and Slash by Aycan 2017-07-31T20:43:38Z

The attack animations are hilarious. I like how they are sort of a cut scene. Really clever way of implementing them.

LD42 — Running out of space

Flood Of Pirates by Stefan Jovanovic 2018-08-17T18:13:45Z

This game is very pretty. However swinging the sword felt very awkward and I couldn't tell if i was hitting the enemies. I think adding some pixel blood effects would really fit with this game's aesthetic and add a lot to the overall feel of the game.

LD46 — Keep it alive

In the Valley of Souls Deluxe Edition by Syrapt0r 2020-04-20T18:26:20Z

Well that was fun. Reminded me a bit of the Stanley Parable just with more gameplay. The platforming was responsive and the story was good. No complaints here.

Ludum Dare 46 Entry: Tree Sim by Alex Mulkerrin 2020-04-20T00:56:25Z

This game is quite pretty. Don't feel like I have very much control over the tree's growth though.

A Meatball by Slowpoke 2020-04-20T19:42:10Z

Fun game. Reminded me of marble blast. The controls not lining up with the direction of movement was pretty annoying though.

Manage the ongoing situation by Freedom Is Slavery 2020-04-20T19:16:47Z

Innovative control scheme. Definitely harder than it looks to circle the people.

Crystal Defense by Ryvencore 2020-04-20T02:43:51Z

The art is really good. I especially liked the tower build preview feature. The game is pretty bland though, there isn't a lot to do. Just adding 2 more enemy types and 1 more tower type would have added a lot I think.

Coronary Flypass by squirmonkey 2020-04-20T03:28:40Z

Man this game is hard. When that box starts really swinging around there's no stopping it. The voice lines are hilarious and its very satisfying when you complete a level. The hospitals should really rethink their heart carrier design.

Destructive Reconstruction by MantarayTV Games 2020-04-20T18:55:49Z

The particle effects are neat and the explosions are very satisfying. Not much of a puzzle though.

The Fire Burning by Shouji 2020-04-20T03:41:24Z

The special drops seem a bit rare. I only got 1 piece of chocolate and no coal in my 180 sec playthrough. Had fun though. I enjoyed trying to hit the fire with a log while it was offscreen.

Rogue Janitor by stolen_biscuit 2020-04-20T03:13:41Z

Like the control scheme. Without an inventory and just having everything laying around just adds to the totally disorganized feel of the dungeon. It definitely feels like your character screwed up. Good work.

YOUR RAGING SPIRIT by madbookstudios 2020-04-20T02:55:23Z

Choice of weapons is very amusing. The fire is really pretty. Overall very nice game.

Social Life by CharlieGray 2020-04-20T00:46:34Z

This was fun. It got really hectic at the end. Maybe the difficulty ramps up too quickly. I love that there is a leaderboard.

Spiders and Sports and Plane Crashes by Seothen 2020-04-20T16:51:25Z

Very innovative combat. It's very stressful having such a limiting ammunition. Hitboxes on the trees are pretty whack though.

dry dry by Nathan123 2020-04-20T02:33:49Z

The concept of trying to keep a plant alive in a desert is pretty funny. The really shouldn't be able to spawn so close to the plant. Some of instantly hit the plant after spawning.

LD57 — Depths

Target Practice by JCMonkey 2025-04-07T18:56:37Z

Nice game. Click accuracy is not my strong suit so I did pretty poorly. The graphics are very trippy and unique. Definitely makes it stand out.

BeltCo Mining Inc. by smilewood 2025-04-07T17:55:35Z

I like these kinds of upgrade games. I think that gems are too rare as the progression feels very slow. But overall, well done.

The Treasure of the Gigantanic by Zirrrus 2025-04-07T18:49:43Z

Fun game. I liked needing to balance my time with the various mini games. I found the 100k treasure but the win button didn't seem to work.

Deep Guild by argensis 2025-04-07T14:12:24Z

I see where you were going with this but I can definitely feel the time crunch on this one. The game really needs more item variety and ways to upgrade the shop. The deeper layers should have items that you can't buy normally. My other suggestion is that adventurers should be at risk of dying and deeper layers should take several days to quest. Solid foundation and an interesting theme that could turn into something fun with more development.

Focus Hunt by dhim 2025-04-09T10:30:38Z

These types of games are not my cup of tea, but very well executed. The blur effect is incredible. Much more difficult than a hidden item game usually is which is a plus for me. Although the small items in the back might be a bit too challenging to find.

In the Inferno by Talia 2025-04-07T17:15:07Z

Pretty fun, although it is a bit too difficult for me to complete. There doesn't seem to be much point to the enemies as you can just spam click and kill them offscreen. Maybe if the enemies had a weak point that you needed to aim for. Though that would make the game even harder :).

The Well of Secrets by coatline 2025-04-07T17:26:55Z

It's a pretty creepy game. I love the visuals and the retro shader you used. I was a bit scared at first but by the third floor I realized nothing was going to happen and I relaxed. If you'd have thrown in a jump scare at that point, it really would have got me. One nitpick, you can clip halfway into the walls. Maybe consider making the collider for the player a bit wider.

Drop by caeonosphere 2025-04-07T14:50:18Z

I like the atmosphere and the physics are satisfying. I would have liked to finish the game but I got stuck on the first glider level. Using the power made me fall a bit slower but nowhere near enough to make the jump. I tried getting as much forward momentum as possible for the jump. Am I missing something?

Fusty Fake. Shame in the depths. by Sviborg 2025-04-07T18:23:48Z

I like the surreal vibes. The marker aesthetic is a nice touch. It would be nice if the later keys needed more than one step to obtain. It was a bit too straightforward to solve.

Dead & Buried by Frogravity 2025-04-07T10:07:15Z

It was a nice surprise for the mechanics to change up as the game progressed. It was looking to be a rather bland puzzle game, but it turned into something interesting. It would be cool if there was an alternate ending if you ignored John's advice and didn't launch the zombies into space.

Echoes of the Deep by nyxkn 2025-04-07T12:42:43Z

Very creepy. The game really shines when you reach the depth where it's impossible to see without the sonar. I think it would be better for the pacing to reach this point a bit sooner. I also would have liked to spend a bit more time in the 'natural' terrain especially when it is pitch black. Just some minor nitpicks, overall fun game.

Deep Fishing by SharpLoaded 2025-04-07T12:05:52Z

Love a good incremental game. The wave effect is nice and really gets the most out of the simplistic graphics. It feels like it is missing that satisfying power spike that some incremental games have, where you can turn your brain off and let the upgrades take over. Not every incremental needs this, but I feel like it would suit this game well.

Voyage au centre de la Terre by xpoho 2025-04-07T15:42:52Z

I laughed when the manuscript turned into a Pokemon battle. I love the idea of adapting classic literature into a classic JRPG. If you do adapt the whole book in the future, I hope there are more ways for the player to interact. I'd look forward to it if you did.

Pandora's Box by Dovodx 2025-04-09T10:18:27Z

Very fun and exciting game. Love the creativity with the various powers.

Deep Sword Cultivator by ellaris 2025-04-07T13:14:16Z

The effects for the attacks are very cool. However, they feel a bit imbalanced. The 'e' ability feels much stronger than the rest, though it is very satisfying to use. Needing to stand still to attack is a bit too annoying to make it an interesting tradeoff between attacking and dodging, but I understand what you are going for. A very visually interesting game with a fun little story.

A Very Deep Tunnel by Sicosiber 2025-04-07T15:30:05Z

Nice little game loop and good atmosphere. It did get annoying to spam press 'e'. I think it would be better if you picked up crystals simply by walking over them. I imagine that visiting a large patch of crystals and just hoovering them up would be very satisfying. I get that this would largely invalidate the bee boxes and break the balance though.

Just a few kilometers by ollulf 2025-04-07T11:48:17Z

Very tense and exciting game. I felt my heart beating as I got closer to the core. A good risk reward for going fast. I ended up slowing down just so I can get a win. Ended up taking 225 days.

Down climber (Pico-8) by Prunus Padis 2025-04-07T12:59:12Z

Well done not using a modern game engine. Looks very challenging to make a game this way. The movement in this game is certainly unique compared to other platformers. One issue is that you can fall to your death near the next checkpoint to make progress. The game really loses its challenge this way. You should probably add some check to make sure the player isn't falling before updating the checkpoint.

Descend by Placeholders 2025-04-09T09:49:23Z

Very imaginative. I like the vibes. No challenge, no puzzle, just chill. It's nice to play these kinds of games now and then.

Dark Pit by Haokai XU 1999 2025-04-07T14:30:46Z

Interesting gimmick for a platformer. It was very challenging and I didn't manage to get very far. I can't exactly pinpoint why, but the controls felt finnicky and unresponsive. I think it is too easy to get stuck under a pile of wood and really be able to make any progress. Otherwise, I like the concept.

Rattling by Suslik 2025-04-07T18:12:49Z

This game has a good atmosphere. The sound and the hypoxia effect are a nice touch. Was there a goal in this game besides staying alive? I couldn't figure out anything to do besides crank the oxygen and dive deeper.

Interstellar Dragon - Into the depths... of space! by Camer the Dragon 2025-04-07T15:52:00Z

Very chill game with the relaxing music. This kind of game really needs a leaderboard, but I understand that could be challenging to implement for a game jam.

Grip of the Abyss by McRamon 2025-04-09T09:59:00Z

Fun game with great pixel art. I think it would be better if everything was sped up just a bit to really increase the frantic nature.

CONFESSION by pavlov36 2025-04-09T09:41:29Z

Good stuff. I like narrative based games. Gives me 'To the Moon' vibes.

Nightmare Digger by OnnGD 2025-04-07T11:31:27Z

Funny how we both made a game about going into a mine over and over again, although this is a very different implementation of that idea. It was quite fun for a bit, but got a bit stale as going deeper didn't seem to change anything. Adding new enemies and rocks as you go deeper i think would be an improvement. Also, I might just be really bad at avoiding zombies, but energy didn't seem to matter at all. Your starting energy should probably be much less.

The Investigator by ImmortalFox 2025-04-07T11:00:00Z

The vibes and aesthetics are very good. I felt very little agency in the games outcomes. This does fit in with the theme very well, but unfortunately it made it not very fun to play. With better writing, this kind of gameplay would work. The game mentioned multiple endings, but I tried different options in my second playthrough and got identical results. If your boss reacted differently depending on your choices, even if it led to the same ending, would be an improvement. If you had more time to flesh out the characters and world building, there is a solid game here.

Ad Light by jtap 2025-04-09T10:05:44Z

I like the art. It is very cute. The randomly placed anglers and mollusks leads to some unfair placements. Maybe better if they were placed by hand for a more balanced experience.

Shootwell by Sevatoxin 2025-04-07T10:23:31Z

This game hooked me. I made many attempts to try to improve my score. This game really needs a kill counter or some indication on your progress towards upgrades. Also, it's probably just a skill issue, but I usually die before the first upgrade. A gentler difficulty curve would be appreciated. Unless it is intentionally supposed to be difficult, which is a valid choice. The game is fun anyways.
