Really awesome game! First I've given a 5 in either audio or humor. It controls very well, runs smoothly, and is quite fun to play over and over again. Great entry!

Great concept and development. Lots of fun!

This is a great game. It has excellent music, controls well, and that description made me laugh. That said, I never felt like I needed to use the boost. It was a bit of a wasted opportunity.

Technical Stuff: Serious framerate issues on a very powerful computer. It seems to be associated with the spawning of new clouds and drones. On a multimonitor setup the cursor is not constrained to the active one.

Fun concept. It could be quite frustrating when bad luck killed me less than 500 meters from the ground, but that's par for the course with this kind of thing. Once I figured out effective use of the speed boost (for hardcore 90 degree turns and such) it could be very satisfying.

Over time I found myself turning down the music. It's frantic and effective, but it did get annoying after a few minutes.

One thing I noticed is that drones are easy to see on a cloud, and easy to see outside of the cloud, but can be tough to see when they sit on the edge of a cloud. That said, you did a good job of making them quickly visible. That can be tough in a game that moves this fast and I have seen many games in which objects simply couldn't be registered quickly enough for a player to react, so well done.

Very nice, this is easily one of the most polished LD 39 games I've seen. I love everything about it, from the graphics to the audio to the concept to the description.

Now this is what I like! A nice core movement-based idea, with strong controls polished to a shine, let loose on a tough challenge. Very nice work.

The movement felt like a fantastic balance of nimble and dangerous, right on point. The boosting and crashes felt nice as well.

The art and sound were also good, and supported the game well. I enjoyed the small touch of the whoosh sound when I changed direction for example.

I came quite close to the bottom a bunch of times, but WOW when I got past like 90% of the way the horde of drones overwhelmed me, and then it was quite long to get there again. But I did retry a lot of times, and got into a zen with it.

Everything comes so fast it's juuuust on the limit, so nicely done. My strategy became to keep the mouse cursor near the ship for fast turning, but my eyes at the bottom of the screen, and just go screaming straight down in flames the whole time.

If I had to suggest changes, I think the drone art is a little hard to scan out at the frantic pace of the game. Maybe the high saturation of the blue background sky made it tougher for me. Red is a good contrast color, but something about it made the drones not exactly LEAP into my awareness like I wanted them to. The art didn't really indicate their direction very strongly either, so it was like I had to watch them for a few milliseconds to track their trajectory - an eternity in this fine game.

Great work.

PS damn that drone that was hiding in the cloud!

Dynamically!

This is a pretty fun game! But I don't feel like this game fits the theme very well.

I could really feel the G's

Simple but nice game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYbvh0qo8Vs

This is intense, and easily the most fun I had while playing any LD39 game so far! It feels really great, the controls are snappy and fair, it's nice to see how the drones increase their movement and number the further down you get. My strategy was to boost straight down, and to steer around everything which would come into my way. I made it after 4-5 attempts or so! :) Cools music and sounds, nice particles, simple but effective graphics, fun intro! I loved everything about this, it's a straight all-5-star entry! Congrats!

The game looks fun from the video above and after @blinry recommended it on Twitter I wanted to play... but... it doesn't run on my (admittedly 7 year old) hardware. :-(

Congrats ! This game is so fun and so cool ! Liked the grraphics and the explosion animation. The music is ***fantastic*** ! Great entry !

I can't play this game because I have Linux((

jondalnas 2017-08-16 18:25

Fast paced fun gameplay with fantastic music, that perfectly fits together. A shame that the frame rate had to drop from time to time.

faulkin 2017-08-16 18:50

Fast and twitchy fun! Enjoyed playing this, made it to the ground after 3 or 4 attempts. Nice graphics and sound too! Great job!

badly-drawn-rod 2017-08-16 19:20

That was a fun game. I enjoyed some of the little touches, such as the re-entry heat when you point your spaceship down. I didn't make it to the ground though - my concentration tends to wander after a long day's work, diminishing my reaction time. Great little game.
