LD39 — Running out of Power

Running Low by SelfTitled 2017-07-31T20:23:58Z

This is easily my favorite LD 39 game so far. The mood is great. My only criticism that I can think of is that sometimes aliens come in from off the screen and kill you in the middle of longer stretches, but I guess that also means that I have to plan with that in mind. Great job with this!

Inconvenient Drone Convention by PeculiarCarrot 2017-08-01T03:47:59Z

Very nice, this is easily one of the most polished LD 39 games I've seen. I love everything about it, from the graphics to the audio to the concept to the description.

Running out of ... by murcu 2017-07-31T19:58:32Z

It took me awhile to realize that the walls don't instantly kill you, but instead reduce your power. It does seem very difficult, and the jump feels floaty, which can be tough to get used to. But overall I like the feel of the game. Nice job with this one.

I love the unified theme to this, and it was pretty addictive. Nice job!

Grid Connect by Laurence Duffy 2017-07-31T18:41:09Z

I really like this game. It looks and feels very smooth, and it has a great concept that I've never seen before. Unfortunately I wasn't using a mouse, so I didn't get very far when I needed to remove connections, but I still enjoyed it. One potential bug, the button to increase wire capacity didn't work in the HTML5 version.

Faade by Ace17 2017-07-31T21:13:28Z

I'm giving out a rare 5 stars for this one because the atmosphere is impeccable. The distorted music fits the theme perfectly, and the visual effect as the power runs out is something very unique and special. I think that this could potentially be expanded into a full game for Steam, and I'd buy it for sure.

Beyond what others said, the counter is slightly off and give a longer time by about 2 seconds. Otherwise, nice game.

The game didn't let me move. I tried closing it and reopening it, trying both wasd and arrow keys, and eventually keymashing, but nothing happened. Also, it starts on the game over screen. The graphics looked pretty good, though, and looked like they at least all have a similar feel.

Get the key, run from the zombies! by Frederickk 2017-08-19T20:49:42Z

This game is quite interesting. I'm glad the zombies move slowly for how small the cone of light is. My only criticism is that the controls feel a bit difficult, but then again, I'm on a touchpad, so I don't see that as a fault of the game.

Keep Your Coal, Dude by DragonZlay 2017-08-01T00:42:14Z

The jumping bug caused me to die on the last level too many times to be fun. Sorry, it's a cool concept, but it has a ways to go.

Power Chase by Thinkofname 2017-07-31T21:00:11Z

There are a couple of spots where the character catches and stops moving, but overall I like the game. Reminds me quite a bit of Super Meat Boy.

SAP by Mikronaut 2017-07-31T19:52:40Z

Not sure if you'll see this, @hairaz, but interestingly enough, I originally had the battery time much shorter, but I increased it by 50% because I was worried that it might be too difficult for some people. I also experimented with having it as a tile in the world, but decided that it made it less obvious what it was for.

Ha ha, thank you for bringing a couple of issues to my attention. The first is that I never actually coded the first room to check whether music was already playing before starting it again, hence the stacking. The second is the fact that if you don't grab the weapon, the space to shoot sign shouldn't be visible. I am planning to continue work on this game, so hopefully I can get those issues resolved pretty quickly.

Outside by Tamfoolery 2017-07-31T20:41:23Z

Wonderful game. I think my only criticism is that I didn't see quite how it fit the theme besides the dystopian feel. Overall I loved it.

Planetarium by Irishbruse 2017-07-31T20:17:02Z

I love the feel and graphics for this. Overall it's a good concept, though there are a few flaws. At least on my machine, there is no game-over message or clear way to restart besides closing the game and reopening it. I like the audio, but as it's only one bar looping it feels repetitive after awhile.

Power Hungry Robot by Edmanbosch 2017-07-31T21:03:11Z

While I love the idea, the control scheme was very difficult for me and sort of ruined the fun. But I think it's an idea that has potential.

Simple Platformer Game by Minu 2017-08-19T20:44:04Z

I didn't quite understand it and kept trapping myself without enough power to get out of a pit, but besides that, it the graphics are interesting and I liked the concept.

White bubble by Thuvareyn 2017-07-31T17:40:22Z

Even though I had no idea what I was doing at first, and then no idea how to replenish the guy's energy, this was still the funnest LD game I've played so far this edition. Very nice!

Super Death Race 9000 by captainhorst 2017-07-31T18:17:15Z

This is one of my favorite LD 39 games so far. Simple and sweet.
