I actually pushed down to Mine 12 but then run out of motivation. But this game is actually way more fun then I thought, simply because number goes up = nice. Some sound, better visuals and maybe some variety, more upgrades and you got a great game here. Also being able to hold down the upgrade button would be great, because at some point it took some time and many clicks to spent my money. Well done, had fun!

Nice game, bro:D

Victory !!!

These games are always fun! Would be nice with some dangers so you can't just hold a key to spam your way through all blocks. I wanted to increase luck even more to spawn BETTER ores, even if all blocks already had ores on them :) Would also be nice with a "Buy max" option so you don't have to click like crazy to upgrade.

Good job overall, was fun!

enjoyed this game a lot, very simple, but very fun! I think if you had some more time outside of the game jam to work on some cool audio and graphics it could be a very fun "clicker" type game

Nice grind game. Actually took me time to play :) Some bugs there of course, and strange feature which let's say are bugs as well, like you can get negative energy and in some cases continue to play or skip the mine completely. Also, graphics and simple animations with audio would be perfect!

Congrats on completing your LD game!

As others said, I think basic sfx would have helped a lot. Also I wonder if the clear condition would work better as "mine all ores", as clearing all the grey squares ends up feeling a little grindy and just a stat check at that point.

Simple, but very good game! It will be more fun with some "juice" improvements, like sound, animations, maybe minimap to see how deep you already dig)

Screenshot_20250407_132821.png so yeah this was a pretty balanced game. nice job!

was suprisd how much i care about clearing that mine. really nice little game, great job!

Cute little game! Surprisingly more addicting than I expected :D Some sound effects would have done wonders I think! It wasn't obvious that the goal was to complete the whole square. I thought I was going to find things while digging. Anyway, thanks for the fun!

This game is addicting, and I would say it has so much that can be done to improve the experience. For one, if you just added some satisfying particles, hit animation, break sounds, and upgrade sounds, it would be game-changing. My one critique is that it is just a ton of pressing buttons. I was simply spamming WASD and then spamming the upgrade button. After there was nothing new after depth 110, I gave up, but that's where you could add some new mechanic or new shop item. There's a lot you could do here!

For the first i think there is no end, but thanks to the comments i realize that there is the end. And hooray! I did it ^_^ Very nice balance, i think you have some nice formula behind this digging. Thanks ^_^

good old rogulike systems make you want to push just a little bit further, get just a little bit stronger and faster. Game plays very well, however no art or sound really hurt it. I wish it had at least some basic sound effects and a bit better sprites (and sprites for when you dig up more valuable tile). Overall pretty good but underwhelming due to reasons above. Still very decent submission, good job!

So small, so simple and so addictive. I enjoyed playing, thank you!

dhim 2025-04-09 14:58

Nice mechanics, maybe a bit more feedback on damage level, ore level and so on would make it a more fun for min maxer like me! I like the simple art, but any sound would make it 200% better (sfxr, audacity) and beepbox are great tools to quickly have something.

Nice to see you have used github during the development process of the game. I have starred and added your repository to a list of ld57 compo I am playing : https://github.com/stars/dhmmasson/lists/ludum-dare-57-compo

I have created badges that you can use to decorate your readme : ``` Ludum Dare Ludum Dare ```

Consider using these **topics** to make your Ludum Dare entry more discoverable: - `game` - `game-development` - `ludum-dare` - `ludumdare` - `ludumdare57` - `ludum-dare-57` - `ld57`

Satisfying to clear a level. I think some sound could have been a really nice addition when you mine an ore for example. Came here to verify if the hero was indeed a stick man drawn on paint, was not disappointed !

ellaris 2025-04-11 11:21

Cool game, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did, tho I think it could use some kind of an obstacle, and maybe if you didn't have to mine the whole level but half of it, it could be more strategical (like at the start) instead of mindlessly wiping the whole map.

binaryprinciple 2025-04-13 04:20

It kept me playing. I liked how investing in specs actually made me more powerful. It was very satifying clearing out the map. I recommend adding sound you can use freesound.org and maybe a small screenshake if you hit a special material.
