Unfortunately this didn't work for me; it was missing Unityplayer.dll
@pinballjunior Oh no! I'm sorry, I'll just upload the whole build instead of the installer, the damn thing never works :(
@pinballjunior @congusbongus Here, I updated the Itch page, now there is just a zip file with the build. I'm sorry for this mishap. Please, if you would like, try and download it again.
@mantaraytv-games Played the game at it was neat. I liked the art and controls were nice. I would be great to see new levels in the future as well, as the theme was implemented very well.
@pinballjunior i actually plan on adding more levels in the future, I was so sad to put in so little levels, but there were some problems during development, so I had to make a choice between levels or polish, and I chose polish.
This was a pretty nice game. Some more complex puzzles would make it really good.
Good game
@mantaraytv-games
I really enjoyed the game! Great idea, execution and puzzle design. The lack of audio is disappointing, but hey it's a game jam so that's no biggy. Overall great job!
This is impressive to say the least!
The visual effects and the art is beautiful, the gameplay is fun and the fact that you made that all by yourself in 48h is awe-inspiring!
Basically, just throw in a music and some sound effects, as well as some few more levels, and you'd have a perfect game!
All my congratulations to you!

@odeyalko You don't understand the story, or what you're supposed to do in the game? Because there's supposed to be a tutorial at the beginning, but if that's not showing up, then just read the description ;)
@sheinxy Oh my god, thank you so much! This means so much to me. I thought the game was frankly disappointing because i had to scrap a lot of stuff. Thank you so much on that comment, it means the world to me!
@mantaraytv-games sorry, i leave comment to another game^)
@odeyalko Oh ok, haha :D
Brilliant visuals, fun gameplay, and fits the theme well. Lots of potential for puzzles too!
Fun game play and looks great! I think has a lot of potential.
@delightfullymad Thanks! I will deffinetley expand on the game in the future, you can look out for that on my Itch.io page:
https://pepperbox-games.itch.io
@adjo Thanks! Really appreciate the support!
Alright, game looks wonderful! Although there was no audio, the effects on sensation of the explosions still felt great and were made very effectively, great use of the unity particle system in making some great effects! Controls felt snappy, the explosion range seemed fairly fair, and overall is a great game! Way to set the bar high for other games!
Wow! Awesome game! It took me a couple deaths at the beginning to pick up what was going on, but smooth sailing after that.
The particle effects are neat and the explosions are very satisfying. Not much of a puzzle though.
Simple and efficient game, I like it^^
Really like the bomb feedback, it does the perfectly the job even though you don't have sounds in your game! The graphics are cute too :)
Good job there o/
I like the particle effects. Overall it's a quick and fun game!
I made it to the end! Really cute design and enjoyed the bomberman style puzzles :D
@acidviper Hey, you're the first one to mention explosion radius, so let me tell you a secret: The little light effect around the player is actually a minimum safe range from an explosion, very useful for puzzle testing, and for players too, if they figure it out that is.
@dnp Yeah I know, I plan on adding much more mechanics and harder puzzles in DestructiveReconstruction2 that i will most likely release on my Itch.IO page.
@louiejams I hope you like the ending, I had to put it together with duct tape and paper clips in the last 10 minutes of the jam :D
I loved that you could pick up and put down the plant. Didn't see any utility or punishment for picking up the plant, but was cool to have it. I died once just walking through some smoke? maybe? but all in all, it was a great entry!
@etdofresh well the smoke didn't kill you, so maybe the collision object from the initial ezplosion somehow didn't get disabled? I really don't know what could have happened, such a thing never happened during playtesting.
I liked this. The puzzles were interesting and the game was fun. The graphics were great too.
Great game. My only note would be that the explosions could maybe be a little faster, waiting for a long chain reaction was a bit too slow for my taste. Maybe the TNT could go of faster the further down the chain it gets?
Great game! I love the feel of this game
@drunkardwolf It used to be much faster, but that caused lag on lower end machines because the collision detection on it was kinda badly optimized. So I slowed it down for the time now. Thanks on the feedback!
Great entry pal like that mix gameplay of bomber man and wall-e. Keep it up ^^
@randdir Haha, I'm glad someone mentioned Wall-E! That was one of the biggest inspirations for the game :D
great game! the bomb mechanic is pretty interesting but i think explosions should happen faster, this level feels like a first level where all mechanics are introduced and then it gets harder after a few levels, there is definitely great potential for a longer version maybe with music, forgot to say the visuals are stunning
Great job for such a short time period. I loved the explosion FX :D Took me some time to realize I never actually needed to set the plat down, since if either it or I was hit with an explosion, it ended the game. Would have been cool to have a puzzle or two that required dropping it to solve. Still, really well done, and I liked that it had an achievable ending!
Nice game! Reminded me a lot of Wall-e. Game is simple, fun and is on point with the theme.
Really nice graphics.
@pusheeneiro Thanks! I love your profile pic :D
@mantaraytv-games Good cat is a bad cat.
Like the particle and explosion effects. Is it me or there is no sound. I'd like to hear a destructive sound. Anyways, pretty puzzle entry. Thanks!
@noirdrive No, it's not you, there really is no sound :D I just didn't have time to add it sorry... I also agree that the explosions would be a lot more juicy if there were sfx. Thanks on the feedback!
Really cool, ALOT of explosions. maybe a tad to much. din not really like that the whole game is just putting down a mine going away and wait. you should make it so you have to run alot more away from explosions or kil enemies with them. but i was cool! <3
@massassen It's really funny how everyone mentions things I wanted to add to the game but didn't have the time to haha! At first you would only kill enemies, but then I liked the puzzle mechanic of it a lot, so I planned to do puzzles with enemies, but then I lost most of the time on making thing work, so I couldn't :(
Thanks so much on the feedback!
No linux build ! I guess no macos build either in that case, you may want to update the links :p
Also .rar files are very annoying to uncompress on linux, .zip is available easily on windows, mac and linux ! :D
@sokette Hmm, I'm gonna try to, but the build should be universal? Maybe not, I'll check, and tell you when I update it!
@sokette There! It's all done, both the Linux and MacOS builds are there now!
not too bad. won the first try, I liked the mine/TNT dynamic, specially the one room that chain exploded.
A mini-map or some form of direction notification would be cool. took me a minute to realize I should move to another room
@brandann Yeah, I thought of a minimap, but didn't have time to add it :/
Great game! i love the idea and it makes for a really great game! good job!
This was really well done, great job! Missing some decent music and SFX, but this can all be added in time. You've got a great base to work from!
Really like it! It was satisfying to place the mine and see the explosion effects, not only that I really appreciate that you had an opening screen with some context to the game and then a tutorial in game about controls. More games here need it!
Keep it up my man!
@rhinofreak @yoshify Thank you both sooo much I unendingly appreciate your feedback!
I found that the main game kinda lacked in depth. Every level is just: put the plant away, explode all TNT in sight, take the plant, move on. If the game is meant to be a puzzle game, then make some puzzles that require thought and that aren't obvious. In addition, the plant seems to be only added as a link to the theme, it doesn't have actual gameplay value. All you have to do is put it away before placing the bombs, and then take it again. There is a simple law in game design that if you can simplify something without making it less fun, then do it. Sometimes less is more.
love blowing up stuff :D and blowing up stuff to save the planet is cool cool graphics, fun style it was a little linear but probably with more time to work with could get better :)
I like the puzzle nature of the game. Blowing up stuff can be satisfying. What prevents me from just putting the plant down and doing the puzzles? Haha. I beat it and I only lost the plant once! Thanks for letting me play your game!
@spacewizardj Thanks! The thing is, the very nature of the game was very different at the beginning, but when I decided to change it, the plant carrying mechanic was already done, so I was like, yeah just keep that in, because I didn't have time to find a new way to use the plant in the puzzles. Thanks on the feedback!
Hey, nice game for the compo.
The levels are a bit obvious so there's no real challenge there, but with some additional work put into it and a few more different entities to interact with, it could be improved a lot.
Also, a bit less waiting between placing the bomb or chain reaction on the explosives would create a more panic like feeling. I felt like I'm waiting for too long just doing nothing, waiting for the explosions to do their thing.
And too bad there's no sound  Probably just out of time, ha?
In any case, well done
@kaisean-games yeah, a lot of answers to all of those are the lack of time haha :D
@mantaraytv-games yeah... A feeling I'm too familiar with.
Great explosive particles! Maybe if the bombs had some kind of countdown, it would be better to planning where to put them. Nice compo entry!
@mantaraytv-games Yeahhh thanks for the linux build addition ! ;)
The screenshots and the itch.io page were kinda familiar, but I hadn't played the game yet. Felt strange until I noticed I already came to this page but couldn't play the game :P
Well that was pretty simple but fun ! It's short enough to not get bored by the same game mechanic, but maybe a longer version could expand on the idea of some blocks being able to break some other blocks (just like the TNT is the only block that can break the yellow blocker).
@sokette Yeah haha, that and time are the main reason for the shortness! I scrapped 30 levels because it was.. just... so... boring. But you'll be able to play all of the levels with revamped game mechanics (and everything else really) in the revamped version I'll be releasing on my Itch.IO page!
Also I realise it only now, but the graphics are pretty simple but effective. I guess it'sa combination of a small color palette, blocky particles and the smoke effect.
@sokette Yeah, and the post processing adds a lot, you wouldn't imagine how much uglier it is without it!
Nice looking game. raw but loads of potential. get to work lol
@marvalgames I sure will! The development on the "full" version has already started! You can read a devlog here: https://itch.io/t/769647/destructive-reconstruction-full-version-development-is-starting#post-1373433
Fun little game with some interesting mechanics. Would definitly be interested in playing the full version when it's done.
@staircase27a Thanks! You can follow the development on my twitter, here: https://twitter.com/home and the game will be released on my itch page here: https://pepperbox-games.itch.io
Sorry for the shameless self promotion, it's become a bit of a habit haha.
Really hoped for puzzles that interacted with the plant, because in the end you just grab it and take it with you through the whole game. Some ideas could be: buttons or pressure plates where you could leave the plant to keep them pressed. Scans that need the plant to be left in front of. Zones where the plant can't go (ie too cold) and conveyor belts.
Anyways, congratulations on finishing and releasing the game!!
