Hey man... Your game is much better than I thought when I saw you presentation of it. It is way too good. You need screenshots and a better text and more love. I totally look into games that have no visual indication of beeing a good entry for a jam, cause a lot of them are hbidden gems. Pls add more love to the presentation next time. I'm sure your would get a lot more reviews then. Great Game. Have a good time :)

Nice little maze game!
Very nice, loved the creepy atmosphere! Sound design was great and a good sense of how to guide players through levels using lighting design.

It's a pretty creepy game. I love the visuals and the retro shader you used. I was a bit scared at first but by the third floor I realized nothing was going to happen and I relaxed. If you'd have thrown in a jump scare at that point, it really would have got me. One nitpick, you can clip halfway into the walls. Maybe consider making the collider for the player a bit wider.

@psychomonster Thanks for playing! I added some more love to the presentation for ya!
@thisyc @polymathld Thanks for playing!
@dnp Haha thanks! That's exactly what I was going for. I wanted you to assume that there would be some kind of danger lurking, but of course, I didn't have time for that! Good point about the clipping into the walls, it does break the immersion for sure.
Really great vibe, and solid polish. Definitely captures the theme well. Great job!

Spooky. I'm with the others in that I assumed something was always following me! Sticking to the left wall always got be there and back.

Pretty spooky game. Definitely kept hearing some freaky noises lol nice job on the atmosphere!
A chilling maze game with a fantastic eerie atmosphere! The sound design and lighting really enhance the suspense, keeping you on edge. There’s a small issue with getting stuck in the walls, but overall it’s a solid experience. A few jump scares could really take the tension to the next level!

I couldn't play as I am on a mac, but it's Nice to see you have used github during the development process of the game.
I haven't rated the game here, but I have starred and added your repository to a list of ld57 compo : https://github.com/stars/dhmmasson/lists/ludum-dare-57-compo
I have created badges for the readme that you can use: ``` Ludum Dare Ludum Dare ```
Consider using these **topics** to make your Ludum Dare entry more discoverable: - `game` - `game-development` - `ludum-dare` - `ludumdare` - `ludumdare57` - `ludum-dare-57` - `ld57`

Truly excellent atmosphere, I was constantly anticipating some jump scare or similar (luckily there wasn’t one), but the creepy vibe was just perfect. Well done! :smile:
I got all the secret ancient gems, they were absolutely worth it, the voice from the intro had it all wrong!
Very atmospheric game, it definitely pulls you in while you're trying to memorize your way back and then hits you with a scary sound that really gets you, that was very neatly designed, I thought that was cool. The pixel art included and the pixel art filter give it a very distinct fantastic look as well. Super cool game, great job!

I really like the atmosphere you have in this one. The well is also "well-done" an I like the little cinematic scene in the beginning the introduces the story. I wish there were more obstacles, etc in the game but 48h does limit what one can do. I also appreciate that the levels are procedurally generated and think you could take this prototype and make it into something that is really interesting and engaging.

Gotta echo the sentiment here, you nailed the atmosphere. And as many said, maybe a bit more to do would have been nice, but you're definitely VERY good at setting the mood of the game. Nice work!
Great atmosphere! One of the things I'm most impressed by - an ingame cutscene!! I don't think I've ever seen that in a compo - I'll have to dig into your code to find out how you achieved that - but maybe your able to give a quick synopsis here? Was it animated using an external tool, or all in unity? Really love what it adds to the vibe of this entry. Well done!

@t-c I appreciate it!
@ugly-robot Yeah! The cutscene stuff took up quite a bit of time. I built it in Unity during the jam using a simple state machine kind of script I called Cutscene. [Start] → [Wait for Dialogue] → [Player Movement] → [Next Frame or Finish]. For every sentence of dialogue, I would have a CutsceneFrame from a list of CutsceneFrames that I specify in the inspector.

What I like about the way I did it is that I am still using the player controller to move in cutscenes, just without the player's input. This way, I automatically get the breathing sounds and the correct sprint speed when I would otherwise have to "fake" it if I were going to simply move the player with Unity's built-in animations. You can totally check out the source code if you want! It's not robust and I'm still not completely happy with it, but it works well enough for the introduction and the beginning of the levels.
@coatline oh, awesome! An excellent approach - I love that you were able to pair it down to a simple dataclass, I had worried it was a bunch of gross if statements (which, of course, I resorted to in jams before) This is a really wonderful solution - I'll keep it in mind for my next jam (that has a character controller) - thanks so much for sharing!!
Great mood here, lovely entry to the jam. It was creepy throughout and had me on my toes, good work!

Superbe atmosphere, Very well done introduction, and I loved the graphics even though it was minimal, or maybe even because of it!
I went into the 3rd floor, and it became a little repetitive, and than the game hanged up so I couldn't progressed :(
Still, fantastic achievement, very well done
Solid entry with an incredible mood which fits with the theme. I really like the main aesthetic which reminds me of my old PS1. The controls work well as expected. I had fun walking in the pseudo mazes. Thank you for your comment about my own entry. I wish you the best ++
