LD46 — Keep it alive

Coins by Tero Pulkkinen 2020-04-20T14:15:46Z

I'm unsure how to play this game. No instructions. I did learn about the movement keys and how I can click to move. I cannot pick up the coins. I have tried other buttons.

I do like the bump map on the green turf, and I would tame down the camera over the bumpiness

O Captain! My Captain! by jamioflan 2020-04-29T14:41:30Z

...I didn't rate your game because I didn't play it, but you may want to know that I am intrigued by the idea - and you got my attention! I would have loved to play it if it was web-based!

Hibernation Journey by Lerg 2020-04-24T13:57:11Z

Excellent concept. It is enjoyable. With some small tweaks, this could be a very satisfying game! I got to 250 left. I did run out of resources too fast the first time that I played it. I wanted to restart once I got the "feel" for it, but didn't find a button. I did find that it got very repetitive... I had to continue to keep checking systems to make sure that I didn't miss any... too many mouse clicks for a game that shouldn't have any.

Broadcast Bandits by zoarfy 2020-04-27T16:42:35Z

Great game. You had an excellent choice of music, and it was VERY original. Sometime the ship would appear in multiple locations (a bug), and i didn't really know what was going on. Other times, I really didn't know if I needed to react real-time as I thought the game was turn-based. Very great mood for a game - and once the bugs are fixed and a little feedback modified, I can see how the game would be very satisfying.

Zero by omercanbalandi 2020-04-20T11:02:46Z

I Beat it (1 health left)! It was pretty fun. The world "Shaking" whenever shooting was a HUGE plus. There was a door I could not enter near the end - it would have been pretty cool to enter it. Overall - you did a great job on the graphics!

You Have One Job: Keep It Alive by Minusc 2020-04-24T14:04:57Z

Great game! My finger hurts, but it is FUN! I'll find myself playing it again! I know there is SOMETHING!

Sourdough Starter Simulator by kristina 2020-04-20T21:59:20Z

Loved it! I liked how you had to mix in the beginning. I also liked the difficulty level. I did manage to beat the game - so thank you! A way you can improve the game is by improving the graphics.

Rolly and the Flower by Rolly 2020-04-20T14:37:03Z

Fantastic job! The puzzles kept me going - and not at a discouraging rate too - they were just the right amount of difficulty. I REALLY enjoyed that you spent time on the end scene! The music was calming, and the flower sounds were spot on to keep things fun :). Even the playtime length for a jam was EXCELLENT!

The game is very polished - it is hard to come up with anything that NEEDS to be done to it. Even the graphics were great being plain. I guess just better animation detail?

Kindling by armytag 2020-04-20T21:40:32Z

Hi! Great concept. I found that light source placement could have been good for knowing how to get back. I wish there was a greater goal to this game, and that I knew WHEN the light would expire while I was away to prevent me from straying too far. Pretty nice graphics!

Keep cats alive! by Odeyalko 2020-04-20T00:46:41Z

Great job! It is simple and I could tell I was on water! Thanks for making a game!

Phoenix Tower by Keyo 2020-04-22T17:35:26Z

Loved it! Great concept - made me think in some parts. I realized there was no music at the end - that would have been fun. Other than that - great graphics - great puzzle elements - great action - I defeated a boss!

Windy The Indie by Douwe_Ravers 2020-04-20T22:00:11Z

Fun game! I liked how I could improve my damage and money so much that previous problems (lack of arrows) eventually didn't represent a problem. I did like how easy it was to purchase arrows - lifesaver!

Gluttony by Prackli 2020-04-21T00:55:33Z

Wow that's fun. The pixel art is really good! I like how you have to learn the level. Great controls. I disliked the jumping speed at first, but it grew on me and it made it so that I could play the game much faster.

I think I would have more fun if there were save points... I guess it depends on what you were going for.

Cable Guy by sorko 2020-04-21T00:45:21Z

You ended the game at just the right time! Great concept, and I loved how the cables got longer and longer! The hidden walls got challenging hard, but it was ultra satisfying solving it! Just a fun platformer :) Thanks!

Save The Puppy by Kerpter by merttugkan 2020-04-20T14:06:43Z

Wow what a great fun game! The levels/controls are different so I don't get bored! I like how it still offers a challenge - and you have to replay to get good (kinda like the old marios). Music is good. I'm a huge fan of the story and what you are trying to accomplish - the entire time I said to myself - don't hurt the dog! Whatever you did here - it was excellent!

Crazy Plant Lady by LaraLama 2020-04-20T18:50:42Z

The mood of this was great - I enjoyed figuring out what the plants needed, then providing that need. The music was well balanced, and without the "keeping alive" part, I would see this as a low stress game. I really like your text, simple colors, and font (oh those fonts!). Your "controls" were very simplistic and I like how there was a screenshot displaying them. (keep these things up!)

So - multiple playthroughs - my plants kept dying. I either over-watered them, or something else was wrong that I didn't understand. When looking at the plants, it would be nice to see "Needs more sun" or "needs fertilizer"... sometimes I just didn't understand what the plant needed (or didn't need). It would also be nice to have "red" marks where I SHOULDN'T water. :( They just kept dying! A little more adjustment to the difficulty curve would have been a nice welcome!

I with you enabled "mood". It did have a great relaxing feel to it (until I kept dying). Your next game should focus on that mood - I think that was a great strength of this game.

Guardy_Bird by Matootsy 2020-04-29T14:36:57Z

So I loved your game - This was actually one of the ideas that my friend and I had for LD46 lol. Put a lot of time into it - that is how much I liked it! Sadly, I could not beat the game due to bugs. The game is either buggy, or not enough notification goes into it to know weather something is a bug or a feature. At first, when I got a plastic bag out of the tree, I'm GUESSING that some bags are so heavy that if you hit the ground, that is game over - you won't be able to go back up - I have found that going into the purple pipe and waiting for the purple to go away does let me fly again (sometimes). I have also found that the bird sometimes just gets stuck on the ground for the rest of the game and won't let me fly again. I would strongly consider (if this is a feature) to remove the non-flying thing all together. If it is a bug, then please fix the bug - I'd like to win your game! Overall, excellent game - love the idea, and love the though and effort that you put into it!

Rave Rudders by btnpresser 2020-04-20T22:08:57Z

So I really like the nautical theme - I also liked how FAST the ship moved! A lot of games are super slow! I like speedy collection - and you hit it!

Got to 100 ships and gave up. Is there a goal? It felt a like a lot of "grind" to get to 100. It would be awesome if I played to 40, then things get changed up a bit. Perhaps going "fast" with spacebar could have been a method to "level up" once you get to 40. Maybe just keep rewarding the player?!

Cryoloop by Freya C 2020-04-20T15:01:16Z

I really liked the graphics. It took me a failure to realize that i was in a puzzle game. You could have made the maze longer, where if you knew where to go, it would have taken you most of the 60 seconds to get there. The animation left and right were good, and you have a more satisfying gameplay just moving at 90 degree turns rather than 45. The gameplay was just short enough for a gamejam! Very nice! Thanks for making the game!

Save Ivee by Furfel 2020-04-23T14:44:42Z

Controls: You could have simplified these. Maybe if you used WASD to move Up,Down,Left,Right, and then used space bar for EVERY other interaction, the game would have been closer to what we are all used to (which is important).

Difficulty: It would have helped a LOT of you used colors that better matched what I was trying to mix. We all know that Yellow + Blue = Green. Cyan + Magenta - what? lol.

Gameplay: *SPOILER* The theme really started long after the gameplay had been figured out. It took a while to figure out that the OPPOSITE colors mixed together would result in the color that I wanted. In this case, 5 colors to match may be a lot easier.

Timing: Once you figured out the puzzle, the game shifted into a different game... the game was now "do it fast"... which was too fast even on easy.

Theme: The theme didn't really start until after 1) You figured out the puzzle... 2) You did the puzzle fast and 3)(theme), you had to just keep doing (endurance).

Winning: Easy could have been a more simple puzzle to slowly introduce us to the game. Then - a GRAND SPECTACLE for winning your game should have occurred. Instead - I didn't get as much reward at the end as I would have hoped for. If you gave a mini spectacle for easy, and let us know that a better spectacle would come on hard, it would keep me striving for more!

Overall - I beat the game, it had good aspects to it, and if you made some necessary changes, you have the potential to have a very addicting game! Congrats!

Sacred Gardener by Hanamigi 2020-04-20T15:18:38Z

Animation was fun and interesting - it was different than most animations which is a very good thing. Your idea was simple, and you really took heart to the theme - the theme was spot on - I did try to keep them alive lol! The instructions were much clear without using text and better than a lot of games (use water on plants lol - win by having 2 flowers!), yet I struggled starting the game

The game took a little long, and at first, I had no idea if my watering was having an effect. It wasn't until later that I realized that I have to keep watering the same side over and over again to reduce walking time. When the tree smiled, I thought I had won, but I kept going out of curiosity - unknowing if I had won or not.

Thanks for making a game web based ;)

Can Adequately Generate Charge, C.A.G.E. for short! by Izokia 2020-04-20T22:18:14Z

I LOVE your minigame idea - it is AWESOME. After playing enough, I realized my keyboard wasn't accurate enough, and I got discouraged by the large penalty for being hit and the small amount of gain for doing well. Your game is a great proof that games don't have to have great graphics to be fun.

Congrats on creating a game for your first jam!

NWO Simulator - World peace is an inside job by herzig 2020-04-20T14:22:04Z

I got to level 6. Level 5 is almost too hard - 6 is impossible. by middle of level 3 I began to understand the game - so great on balance! You did a great job keeping the action alive in this game! I feel that with some proper balancing (and graphics), that your idea was very good and simple enough to keep people entertained!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Routine by Ommadawn 2020-10-05T14:39:04Z

Loved it! Thanks for making a game! Sometimes I didn't know what to do, but I somehow passed by trying different thigns!

TimeSplitters 4 by BlueCalx 2020-10-08T22:37:30Z

Yes the controls were wierd, but once I got the hang of it I did well. I wish there were more intermediary levels as I felt like I got thrown in with the wolves on some levels!

Beyond Orbit by Zypo 2020-10-05T23:28:12Z

@chesschaser Hey! Well - there is a "Cell Fracture" add-on in blender that allows you to fracture a sphere! The planets don't really blow up, the 3d model gets replaced with shards from the new model.

Escape from Arachnea! by Guardaro 2020-10-05T17:26:40Z

LOL wow you kept me going with that high-score list! I was determined to hit first place (even though someone else will probably do better than me)... Great game!

Quarantine Routine by Almartmen 2020-10-05T17:10:33Z

Great game! I love how there are different mini-games! I lasted 6 whole days! I think the "shoot eggs in basket" was frustrating at times, but I liked all of the other mini games. I didn't find out about the "alternate stress relief" or getting the proper amount of sleep until much later... maybe the outside getting darker might give me an awareness to stop doing so much stuff.

LoopOS by Rustywolf 2020-10-05T14:48:25Z

The system froze on the command "webcam park". Other than that - I was really enjoying it!

LoopOS by Rustywolf 2020-10-05T15:26:07Z

Windows 10 Firefox - freezes Chrome + Edge - entire tab freezes with audio ticks.

LoopOS by Rustywolf 2020-10-05T15:42:58Z

Ah - nvm... I just didn't wait long enough - eventually the 'webcams' showed up :) ... so... I LOVED this game! The story was excellent! The rebooting system was annoying - I wish it were just a story element, and let me continue from where I was. I would DEFINITELY play a sequel!

The final loop by IndieQuest 2020-10-05T14:55:34Z

Wow! Fun game! You had a great idea. the "moving towers" was a great spin on a tower defense game! It was a bit easy. Other than that! Great job!

Choice by velocitycss 2020-10-07T22:19:34Z

Wow great game! I felt very accomplished at the end. The graphics were smooth, the controls were not clunky, the difficulty increased with repetition... you guys should feel really proud! A lot of people say this game was too hard, but in reality, it gets very easy once you know how to do it - the difficulty decreases once you know how to solve the level. Excellent job!

Starburn 64 by Warrrkus 2020-10-05T16:17:36Z

...I would REALLY like to play this. Is there any way that you can upload it to HTML5?

Jump on Ghost by Bafanada 2020-10-05T15:24:30Z

Wow! Great concept! ...That last level!!!!

I would have loved to hear some sort of "minion" audio!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

DieAblo by Emkani 2021-04-27T20:24:25Z

Great concept! You had me pulled in with the visuals wondering what was going on. I loved the 3d, and I didn't see any major bugs! Very innovative system with the dice representing risk/reward, and how you can "add" dice from previous floors.

That being said, I would have loved to have some sort of goal other than checking out your innovations. I feel that the "deeper and deeper" theme was mostly visual, but did incorporate into the mechanics just a little bit. I would have liked to see more instructions as I really didn't know what mana did or what keys did or even how to use them. I did find out through trial and error that "spacebar" rolled the dice, so a small "controls" section would be beneficial either in the game or on the ldjam site page.

You had me wanting to play your game, and you were a success. Thanks! Great job!

Florida Simulator by Grogian 2021-04-29T11:18:20Z

Great job! At times, part of me wanted to sprint. I would have loved some "win" music. Also, you could have consolidated all the different buttons into a single button depending on where you were and what you were doing. Other than that - very enjoyable, and great job!!!

Dante's Harvest by Wakobu 2021-04-30T14:03:00Z

I liked the graphics and animation. You did a great job with instructions by embedding them into the game. I also think that your idea has a lot of potential, but suffers from balance issues. My largest concerns are that at the start of the level, I run around to collect souls, and then before I can start building defenses, I have to run back to the cart to purchase the defenses, and then I have to place the defenses FAR from where all of the bad guys are, and by then, I'm being swamped already. If I am lucky enough to have a defense placed in time, one bad guy knocks it out with a couple of hits - the game turns into a "wait to hit the button" simulator. Other than that, great job at making a game!

Just Call Your Mom by willjardine 2021-04-27T16:32:04Z

Woooooow!... great concept... and great artistic styling! Kept me on my toes wondering if i was going to make it!

20,000 Shots Under the Seas by -FL- 2021-04-27T18:52:54Z

187 Nameless! Excellent! Fun game... had some interesting mechanics that one could learn and be better at. Well done!

Drain the Sea by tgb20 2021-04-27T15:50:32Z

I like how I felt like I had to balance out resources. I also liked the 3d graphics a lot. The controls were a bit much, and I kept losing at first. I didn't realize that I could press "esc" to back out of the menu - which meant that it took me a few tries to get the hang of it. Great job! I had fun!

**Spoiler** ...I realized that I just needed to stop making solar to get ahead.

Aqua Snap! by Roboimuri 2021-04-26T19:20:33Z

Hi! Love the title work! I would like to play more of the game, but I don't have a middle mouse button as I use a laptop. Perhaps also mapping a key to taking photos may help?

Spermy the Whale Goes Deeper and Deeper by Flying Dog Fish 2021-04-27T17:58:20Z

679.7! Took a while to figure out how it worked, but then got the hang of it! Great job creating a game by yourself!

Mine Flower by Denzil Gomes 2021-04-27T16:51:40Z

Great character graphics! There were some challenging areas, but I liked how you didn't make me restart the entire game when I failed lol.

Fire in the hole! by Arttu Halonen 2021-04-27T16:56:03Z

I loved spam-clicking :) Sometimes the terrain wouldn't get destroyed, but other than that it was a great concept! I would have loved to "move around" and "jump on platforms"... that would be cool :)

In Search of Sigmund I by T C 2021-04-27T15:58:36Z

Great Job! Very relaxing!

WordGeddon by DevMerlin 2021-04-27T15:07:25Z

Very interesting. The theme really didn't make much sense with the gameplay, and originally I thought that I had to come up with a full 8 letter word, which was very confusing - then I read the instructions. Furthermore, once you reach the "minimum" score, you should be able to advance to the next level as there really isn't any point of moving on. Overall, great job getting a game together!!!

**SPOILER** After clicking "Give Up", you can quickly type the word and press enter for the full points.

Treasure Hunter by Mikaro 2021-04-27T17:21:04Z

Great job! I like the idea of exploration that you have going! Great job!
