This is rad! I love game jam games that go for exploration, it's an ambitious thing! I'd love to see this fleshed out more!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → Keep cats alive!

Reminds me of Sunless Sea! Nice! I demand steampunk cats and a Catraken (Kraken / cat?) in Retail release :)
Pretty cool. Also that theme is really beautiful and relaxing.
Relaxing, as someone said. I really like the style. Couldn't get the hang of the controls, but I'm allergic to cats so I am not rescuing any anyway... :)
When there aren't any islands around it's hard to tell if and where you are moving. I would have added a trail on the boat, or make the camera not directly centered on the boat (move the camera when boat gets closer to edge). I really like the artstyle. Well done!
Great job! It is simple and I could tell I was on water! Thanks for making a game!
Loved the music and art. The vibe is soft and serene. I wish there was more texture to the water so I could tell whether or not I'm moving when I can only see water and no land. For some reason my first playthrough never ended. The food kept resetting, there were no more islands.
Another thing that could be better - clicking felt tedious. This is a relaxing game, just follow where my cursor is without clicks.
I played it on the HTML5 version.
Great sounds, albeit the instrument seemed to be a too washed out by the sounds of the ocean which is a bit of a shame. I think the volume of the string instrument could be higher as it's got a nice melody.
I wasn't actually able to gather any cats! The interface just repeatedly opened and close :(
I really like the background music and the atmosphere sound! It reminds me of Animal Crossing a bit... The graphics look interesting too.
It did take me a while to understand the bars on islands (well, you have to see an island sink before you know what it means :p)
The visuals were very cool, congrats. Unfortunaly, I couldn't get the hang of the controls. Maybe it was bugged for me, but I got stuck on the islands trying to rescue cats. Music was quite nice, relaxing :)
The music was genuinely really nice and the visuals were quite good. However, the controls felt a bit klunky. Overall great game.
The visuals and song is really good, i felt something really good about it, but the core game loop could maybe have a few more obstacles, but overall great job man :)
I loved the graphics, and the music was very relaxing. It was kind of hard to move around though.
Cats! I loved the meow noises, and I was sad when my cats began starving. Guess I shouldn't have taken that long voyage to the eastern edge of the world...
As nice as it looks on the surface and how relaxing the music is... there's a lot of not good things, sadly.
* You may want to adjust both the music and the atmosphere down. The atmosphere especially as it was too loud. * For the controls, it's clunky. Very clunky. That or there's no clear instruction there. * The sense of movement itself induces mild nausea caused my the island waters, and you don't see how you move since the water is just one color. * The bars are there to check the lifetime of the island. That's good. I was confused at first if there was a cat or food on it though. So I thought it was bugged at first. Maybe some visual detail could help so you don't end up in empty islands.
The idea is great, but the execution could be done way better. Good attempt anyways!
I like the idea, but I didn't realise you had to land on islands to collect cats + food. I was wandering aimlessly for a little while. I think keyboard controls would go a long way, the mouse control was a bit rough. Great work though, I enjoyed the simple art style and the mood of the game
Not much for gameplay but I enjoy the little thats there. The nice gentle drifting in the raft is really peaceful. I like the look of the artwork but I personally find it to be confusingly flat. As in I felt like I was getting lost because there was no sense of depth or location to anything making it very hard to keep track of direction and what islands I had been to.
i like the music and the graphics, but if you have a funny gameplay, that will be better
HTML version seem to have some issue on the stacking of sprites. I managed to find two cats and two food but as now is kind of random. It could work better if some clue of the content of the island is displayed.
Nice art style
cool game but less things to do and the game play is alight bit boring but i like the game
Very cute and soothing!
I love the art style! It is really great!
The controls were a bit hard for me at first but I think I got the hang of it after a few minutes!
The music is really great, soothing and relaxing!
And saving cat is a big win for me! :D
Overall, simple little game, maybe a bit repetitive after some time (but, I mean, for a game made in less than 48h, it is impressive nonetheless!)
It seems that it is a sequel to a previous game you made, I shall try this game out in some days! (But not right now, as I prioritize playing games that were made for the current Ludum Dare uwu)
Congrats!

@sheinxy haha, thank you so much for this tip. I did not expect this theme, I spent a lot of time thinking up ideas. Yes, there are problems with the components of the game and I did not understand how to deal with them. Yes, this is a continuation of the first game, I thought it would be funny
@jonathanjoseph yes, after creating 2 games, I begin to see a problem - my games are not games and playing them is not very interesting. Perhaps because of the small amount of time, I spent a lot of time thinking and searching for reasons why my code does not work.
I reached the end of the map!
I really enjoyed the relaxing experience and every saved cat warmed my heart. But those little bastards eat a lot! Anyway, toon artstyle is great and fitting. :cat:
your game is really good it is fun but it can be better
Some cute graphics but I assume the island's aren't procedurally generated because I kept on getting lost in open sea? Calm game, in what should be stressful situation :)
Fun Game :) Great to see you followed the theme from the last one, you could be on the way to something bigger :P
I would loved to have seen a little more focus on the art. I've seen you can do it.
Overall cool idea. Mouse movement is a little ugh. but otherwise good game!
Where all cats? I didt find any cats, even one(((
Very calm and peacefull game ! I liked the rescue system, but i had a little trouble navigating around the island ( i played HTML5 (web) ).
The music is very good
@gaz-ireland Thanks you! i know that, movement is brr. this is because i was not ready for such navmesh behavior
@nick0124-creator Please, try again! You must try to find cats! no cats - no life
I feel like there is a good idea for a game here somewhere but the game lacks polish in my opinion. It feels very bare bones. The music is nice though.
Played the HTML5 version it was cute relaxing gaming. Simple and easy to play. It would have been nice to have some indication of what islands had been visited and how many cats there are left to find.
Great work! I love the style and chill mood. I found a lot of food- but few cats. I shudder to think of all the poor cats that didn't survive the flood! Thanks for the positive game! Kinda reminded me of an Orisinal flash game- which I mean as a compliment.

Found lots of food but not so many cats. I guess the other players here saved them all. :smiley_cat:  Music & gameplay was super relaxing all things considered.
Very relaxing
Nice game! I very like music.
Enjoyable game, the music is very relaxing and fitting.
