Almost perfect execution of such a well designed idea. A bit confusing waypoint system, it was hard to sync the movement with attack. Love the graphics style and especially pause animations.

i like the idea, but its hard to predict what will exactly happen so its often a kind of guessing game, especially when and where an enemy will shoot so its hard to plan for this. Also i did nit really get the shield Vlcn thing. After all a nice idea that needs some serious work ;)

It took me a bit to figure out the controls. I'm still a bit confused as to when my shot will fire during a turn. Good use of the theme.

Wow, that is actually a great combination. Fascinating how a change from real-time to planning ahead makes such a massive difference, I love it! Might be my favorite approach to the theme so far.

First few rounds were a bit confusing, but once I got the hang of it I could really feel parts of both genres showing through, the movement prediction and dodging of a shoot'em'up and the planning and resource management of a turn-based game. Really great use of the theme!

Thanks everyone for your comments! We definitely wish we had more time to work in a tutorial system for placing shots and how the shield and vulcan abilities are used, unfortunately we had to depend on UI cooked up in minutes to make things as clear as possible (i.e. not clear :P) If I had gotten the sound effect cues in for things like placing waypoints and canceling choices I think it could have made gameplay clearer too. Oh well, c'est la vie :) We will be posting more info about the game and its possible continued development @ [EvilBrain.Net](https://www.evilbrain.net)

I really enjoyed this! This was a great mashup of genres. Like others have said, it took a few rounds to get the hang of it. But once you do it is a great game!

I would have liked to have the spacebar advance from move mode to shoot mode to play, just so that I didn't have to click in the lower right every time, but this is a small suggestion.

Good job ! Yours game is really fun and theme is respected.

holyblackcat 2018-04-26 18:13

This is a nice one. Slightly hard, but fun once you understand what's going on.

chuck-zelvis 2018-04-26 18:30

I love the concept. The only annoyance i had is that enemies can shoot horizontally when they're close and you can't dodge the bullets. Other than that the execution is perfect.

evandowning 2018-04-26 18:48

This is one of the better versions of this!

bookmarking this to play on my windows pc. artwork caught my attention

Nice concept. I like graphics and sounds. But it's hard to understand controls.

magmafortress 2018-04-28 09:43

Solid game. I found the controls a little difficult to figure out/cumbersome.

alex13 2018-04-28 22:34

Liked it , but very painfull controls I spent 15 minutes to understand controls , make tutorial , please

darby-costello 2018-04-29 13:58

Loving the 8-bit style graphics, I feel like with a little more polish this could make a very promising mobile game. Great work.

pietro-ferrantelli 2018-04-29 21:09

Really nice entry. The controls are a little confusing at first but the mix of the genre works very well! I really like the graphics and the minimalist soundtrack. I admire this kind of bias that creates a really great atmosphere! If you intend to continue the development I will be very happy to play!

themonsterfromthedeep 2018-05-01 02:32

Very cool combination of genres -- I have to say it definitely fits the theme. Seems very difficult, mostly because there doesn't seem to be much enabling you to predict enemy movements and attacks, but maybe I'm just not paying close enough attention to their movement.
