Superb*** Very well made and such polish for 48 hours. Great work.
One of my favorite Compo games so far.
Rated highly by me.
Very nice looking game with a great cutesy feel.
Gameplay doesn't appeal to me that much, bit repetitive, but I'm sure plenty will like this style of game.
The sounds and graphics are fantastic, the theme is suited very well and the gameplay is unique and creative.
Great work
I liked how you control shooting with arrow keys and holding down to shoot diagonally worked well, kind of like a restricted twin stick shooter.
The art style was very well done with a nice clean retro feel.
The AI was pretty simple but work perfectly well, no obvious bugs that I could see anywhere except maybe the spiders getting a bit stuck on walls due to their hugeness ;)
I agree with what you said on my page with an offscreen enemy icon would of been helpful but certainly not required.
I would of prefered a nice boss fight at the end of wave 10 or something but thats my preference (I would of liked to of put one in my game also but ran out of time)
All round a good solid game, very well made.
I'm a star! Very original idea, and well executed. Goodwork
Tried this as 2 player, and it was really fun! This is the first multiplayer game I've seen that works really well, this would be a great little party game.
Though I think you have an advantage if you play with a controller as it's a lot easier to control :)
This is a great all rounder, good sound, good graphics, good fun!
Nice idea, very different to most other games on here, I would probably tag it as interactive art as there isn't really any game elements.
Good work though, no bugs to be found and music is really nice.
Good work on this very fun game.
I love the graphics and the controls are simple but very precise.
I can see you are continuing work on it and with more features and variety you might have yourself a nice game on your hands :D
Not sure if there is an end in the game but I stopped after exploring everywhere, maybe I missed something?
Reminds me of Binding of Isaac.
Great game and well rated from me.
Great creative game! I would get and play this if it was release as a mobile game for sure.
If you do that it would be great to have a progressive difficulty to easy you into it.
Fantastic art, cute sounds and a very solid gameplay.
Great work!
Highly rated by me
I had fun with this game.
Its very well made and I love how the ground ripples and bends around you.
The game is very pretty.
Great entry and well rated by me.
Very fun contra style game.
Had a blast with this but the game is very hard with the huge endless waves of enemies.
Nicely made game, no bugs found here.
Gameplay is fun but could do with a bit more depth and thought going into the level layout but I understand the time restrictions, maybe if you continue to develop :)
Graphics are nice, sounds do the job of making it feel retro and the gameplay is smooth.
Great work
The first puzzle with the portal was pretty hard! There were so many of me I couldn't keep track of my timing! :)
The overall art style was very good as was the sound. My only criticism is that maybe being able to speed the text bubbles up at the start would have been good as I read them quite fast and felt like it took ages for them to go to the next one!
It must have been really hard to program the multiple players thing, you did an excellent job getting that done!
Great humor, game reminded me of warioware (sort of) :P Outside the box thinking went on here :D Good work
The idea behind the game is very well thought out, and the graphics look great!
I would have liked to be able to choose the direction I was going to throw the plants to make it a little easier to get them killed - as I had a lot of trouble getting the evil plants in the volcano. :)
Classic point and click adventure, just a bit short on adventure at the moment ;)
Nice art and great start.
Fun game, many great ideas, theme suits very well (reminds of discworld :D) and pixel art if very nicely done.
All functions work well with no obvious bugs but some action indicators would of been nice, lack of time makes it hard to incorporate these sort of things but they would of made it a bit more intuitive.
Very fast paces making me feel like I had to man the gun all the time, maybe making it 2 player for someone to do all the turtle shell stuff would of helped :D.
All in all a great Ludum Dare game, maybe a bit ambitious for such a short time span but if you continue its development I would be interested to see where it goes.
Great work.
Highly rated by me.
Graphics look nice and gameplay idea is solid but I had problems with it letting my jump, i don't think it knew when I was touching the wall and floor properly so often wouldn't let me jump which is a big issue on a platformer.
Past this though the game was good fun.
Same as @spaceman with performance in webGL but I found myself playing until the end anyway because it was fun :D No major bugs found. Great work
Very atmospheric. I did initially find it a little difficult to control but once I got the hang of it it worked well.
I found the game quite relaxing, the music and sounds are extremely good and fit well with the theme. The whole game is very well made! Good job!
Excellent fun game. Well coded, no bugs found (other than the ones in the petri dish). Played with my wife and both enjoyed it competitive feel, though they do seem to aim more for the players than the AI ;)
Fantastic work
Highly rated by us
I too was a little confused by the thruster at first , I felt like it should have worked backwards - instead of dragging in front of the probe to point it forward it may have been better to click and drag behind it to propel it forward.
Other than that I enjoyed it, I didn't ever manage to reach Saturn but I enjoyed trying :)
I've never seen a text based adventure presented in this kind of way before and I really liked it. It felt easier for me to keep a track of where I was and not get lost. I think this is the start of something great - as you say the descriptions need fleshing out a bit and there are perhaps improvements that can be made to the general polish. But overall it works together nicely!
Looks like an interesting idea but could you give us a brief description of goal and how to play please?
The pixel art on the characters is really well done, and I like the thought behind the story and think it fits really well with the theme.
The only suggestion I'd make is for the sounds to be a little less harsh - maybe slightly 'happier' sounding when you rescue someone :)
Love the art style. More story than game but has a great moody feel to it.
Great music! After playing it for a few mins though my eyes couldn't take anymore - but in a good way :) I liked that the graphics and effects were to the max! Nice work.
Fantastic flow "system", great game concept that I enjoyed playing.
The webGL build seems to have changed since I last played it a few days ago, I'm sure there wasn't portals you had to activate before?
Love the controls, I expect it would make a great mobile game if you decide to continue the development, I'd probably check it out.
Good work
Nice idea but a very buggy game that wasn't very playable, looks like you guys could've used a little more time ;).
Looking past that it would have been a fun little competitive game and the arts style is very nice.
I really enjoyed this. I don't feel like I had enough time to get to grips with it but it was a very well made and thought out society builder. It was great that there was a lot of hints and tips, I never felt lost with what to do next :)
Great game, love the humorous presentation and game idea, it also feels pretty well polished for a speedy code. I noticed near the end that I could plow through the planets by flicking directly into them, this may have been the intended way to complete the last couple of levels but I felt like I was cheating :P Great work!
The visuals were great and I really liked the concept behind it. I agree that perhaps a little more sound would have really rounded it off nicely. Well done!
This game reminds me of those steady hand buzzer games we got taught to make in school... https://i.ytimg.com/vi/-e_773Q83hU/maxresdefault.jpg
I really enjoyed this and I'm very impressed how many levels you managed to build in such a short time.
The controls are very sharp and precise. I sometimes found the "small world" deceptive in how big it was and often crashed for miss judging what speed my reaction time could handle.
Good fun and solid Ludum Dare entry, well done.
Highly rated by me.
I have added a top score in the game for players who play the WebGL version to try and beat. This was finished a few hours after the submission period ran out and I'm sorry about that, hopefully this won't have any effect on voting.
Thanks everyone :)
Heinrix
Thanks very much :)
haha thanks for the comment :D. Big boss chicken would of been nice but time was against me I'm afraid, same goes for audio :(
Thanks so much for the feedback guys :D Glad you had fun. Yeah the controls are "unique" and aiming maybe takes a bit too long to get used to but I didn't want it to be too easy for you ;)
Thank you all so much for this great feedback, I really appreciate the time you have put into playing and commenting. ++Fantastic people
@ithildin I've been referring to it as simple the CarrotCar ;) Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the feedback
Fantastic! Loved it!
Extremely atmospheric, and fun to play. Great work!
Very atmospheric, The gentle music added nicely to the experience, my only criticism is it could have gone on a little longer, perhaps by building up more of the ground at the beginning.
Really enjoyed this. I'm a sucker for any type of farming/growing game!
The graphics work really well with the mood of the game and I enjoyed the puzzle aspect very much. It must have taken a lot of effort to make the levels get progressively harder, so well done there, the game 'flows' very nicely ;)
Well made game with a simple aim. Kinda therapeutic. Good work
Love the concept, trying to just keep little Henry on screen can be a challenge! This is really well made and fun game!
