Loved the atmosphere! Everything from the environments to the audio to the bizarre creature and its unusual controls/actions worked well together to build a strange look & feel, not unlike Rain World. The effort on particles, sound FX, and then again the polished environments show of great sense of detail for a jam entry. Moving around through tunnels is pretty pleasing to the eye, and while the physics can be a bit glitchy it doesn't take away the fun.
The bad news is I didn't make it too far I think, getting stuck at the second base of those puny humans (the one with the metal door). I looked around trying to find missed tunnels or something to break, but without success! Any hint would be welcome, I'd love to see what more this game has to offer :)

Graphic and sfx is so good. I got nice feeling in the tunnel but open space. Each time i got stuck in tunnel make me feel so real. I stuck in 2nd base too, but at least i try all way i can think (may be i'm too bad). Hope u guys can publish this game soon.
@mitus @wan thanks for the feedback ! The last base critical bug is fixed, you should be able to end it :). That's the end of the game BTW !

Really good atmosphere! The music definitely stands out, very fitting. Though the objective of the game doesn't seem too clear to me, I got into a room with a bunch of people and a metal door, but I didn't seem to be able to do much more.
Also one of the body pieces got detatched for a few seconds at some point, might wanna look into that

Really great character designs. The colours and art style give a nice sense of scale.

Nice one! Bien joué! I got stuck at the last base as well, in the WebGL build.
the art is good but it runs slow and there is not much gameplay

Wonderful atmosphere, I love the color palette and the background music. The narrow tunnels give a sense of claustrophobia but in a good way. What maybe could have been better is to explain what the player has to do to win the game. Also I was stuck in the last base, when I scream I still hear humans crying, but tried every corner and still cannot find where the last humans are.
Great work though!
Thx for all the good feedbacks ! There would have been indeed a lot to improve, especially regarding the gameplay and the clarity of the last puzzle where its seems unfortunatly that everyone get stuck... It's clear that we lacked of time at the end and had to put aside a lot of corrections/improvements that we thought were needed. This is a first and very rich experience for us doing such a jam, hopefully next will give a more playable game :P !

Wooah, this is very cool! The art is so nice and moving through the tunnels is very satisfying, I guess I wanted more things to smash through haha. The gameplay was super surprising, new, and fun to me.
This game is beautiful! Sound design is also very good, but wow- the graphics are really amazing.
I was a bit lost for a while before figuring out the scream mechanic, and just like everyone else I got stuck on the last base.
Extremely strong core though, would like to see you expand on it!!

Great entry! Every detail is well-made, down to the screams and blood of the workers.
The controls feel a little weird. Perhaps you could offer both the mouse controls and another option.

Atmosphere was great, music was superb and really fit, monster design was both cute and terrifying, you can tell you guys know what to do with audiovisual mediums, even the gameplay I feel fits perfectly, tough its very unpolished its a great fit for the theme.
As for grievances I guess the hard attack wasnt registering properly some times, also I couldn't finish the game, I guess I had to kill all humans but some must have escaped somewhere.
Anyways great entry, atmospheric as hell which I love.

Beautiful visuals, music and the overall atmosphere. I have only one complaint: the game could be longer. :)
Pretty great art direction! I liked the music, the level design and the controls. It was pretty intuitive and really functionnal! One of the gameplay aspect I liked most was the fact that you could hit rocks with your head to break them and the acceleration in some tunnels with the air particles.
I couldn't finish the game because I got stuck into a cave and didn't know where to go after but I really loved the experience. I suppose I win the game once I kill all the tiny humans? Anyway, loved the physics of the monster and the whole universe.
Super boulot chers compatriotes ! Je vais surveiller ce que vous avez fait et ferez dans l'avenir, c'est prometteur !

This is amazing :astonished: The overall atmosphere is just superb... I really got the feel of being the aggrieved Kaiju in a monster-movie! :dragon:
You can get stuck a bit occasionally, both in the tunnels (maybe the hitboxes have too many corners?) and with the last puzzle: **[ spoiler ]** I had the hardest time getting the little humans to drop on the lower platform (and then I forgot I had a scream option and had to do it again). It was really easy to do that on the second playthrough though, even as I did the same actions!
Also, the head can get detached from the body while charging a hit in certain conditions, and at some point this happened: den_screenie.png
Oh, one last (very small) issue: The text says 'clic', but in English, that would be 'click', with a 'k' on the end
*I think this one's going to get a pretty high rank...*
You sure guys are amazing, thx for the kind comments :)
There are some issues indeed with the controls, the physics and the game goals. We fixed the critical bugs these last days (the transparency report is at the end) but we won't fix anything more or add anything, as they're not blocking and are things we just didn't succeeded to do in this short time. That's the game ! We'll keep that in mind of course if we see that a post-jam release may be appreciated.
For those who get stuck in the last room **[spoiler]** the plot twist is : *you can crush everybody, but should you ?*
That's the surface of what we had in mind for the narrative and characters relations, that should have been explored further in later scenes.
We're working on a postmortem, thanks everyone for the precious feedbacks !
@move127 : we did implement keyboard controls at some point, but it didn't made it until the end, as we rushed for global controls (mouse/touchscreen). We fixed some major issues with the mouse drag though, it may be a little less weird now :)
@pixelstuff : merci ! On va de ce pas explorer ce petit pub.
@remco : oh ! we totally missed that typo. We shouldn't have given the keyboard to the dyslexic one. Thanks for your kind post !

One word: wow, especially for your first jam. Your visuals and audio are amazing as well as your game. I don't know if its just me though, but i got completely and utterly stuck like 5 minutes in and i had no idea where to go. Some tips or direction would be really helpful, but for the 48/72 hours this is great! Can't wait for any updates and to see if i can get any further next time! Also as others have addressed there's a minor typo, but that's about all I can say to improve on.
I love the atmosphere of this game: the art style, the colors, the background music… It's also very rewarding to kill those tiny people :) At first I had some problems with the controls, but I ended up getting the hang of it.
Well done! :)

Great atmosphere and art overall. After some input tweaks this could be a really viable mobile title (I guess you're aiming at it with the steering mechanic), although I think some optimization will be required, because it can get a bit laggy.
This is a great job overall, I'm really impressed. Aside from some tweaks I don't think it would need anything more :D

A beautiful game! Very fun to be a huge monster crushing anything in my path at first (the humans are so small and insignificant, they all look the same) - and then having to stop and think if that is really the only way to play. Hope you continue to develop it, I'd love to play more!
This game has an impressive atmosphere! I read the comment for the last section afterwards so I was sadly stuck as well, constantly crushing those poor little guys. :anguished:
As stated in some of the other comments the detachment of the monsters head happened to me quite a few times but it this is just a minor thing. I'd actually love to play a full version of this game, it creates a mood not many games are able to pull of. Great work!
Looks great, fun to play. Good job!
A pretty unique game!
The puzzle bits have some great potential, the last one was pretty clever and take me a while. I also like the beast movement and its visual representation.
Killing those little scientists is shamefully satisfying lol
Good job on your first entry!

For a while there I forgot this was made in a weekend, there is so much polish! I like how this game starts off, it's confusing and I feel like that's how this creature would feel given the situation.
I feel like the moving is a little bit hard to initially grasp, it seems like it moves in the direction you drag and not the direction away from the creatures head, which I think might be more intuitive. It's still very easy to control though.
fantastic game!

@Matoux42 Merci du feedback !
- WOW!! about the pixel art animation simply wow!! - gameplay is good , the parallaxing effect in the background was nice - Well i was trying to hit the bricks and kill the player i was wasn't able to do it (i don't know weather it is a glitch or there is some other way ) - sound effect simple matches to the game very nice
Graphics and Audio - 5 stars, no doubt! That's what really stood out to me in this game. Loved all of it, really, and this was just a tremendously well made Jam game.
Did get stuck a little bit at times in the walls, so the controls could be improved a little, but it was nothing game breaking (just had to jiggle a little and I was moving again). Also, there still seemed to be a bit of an issue in the final room. Had to mess around for quite a while before the people would unlock the door for me. Though, I thoroughly enjoyed hitting the walkways and sending them flying  Also, the panicked voices and running around was fantastic.
I feel there is the makings of a great game here, if it were expanded and a few more mechanics to keep things interesting. Would encourage you to continue development on this.
Great work!

Since voting is up, I left you a rating in addition to earlier feedback. Cheers!
Very unusual game. Once I figured out the final puzzle I appreciated it more. Beautiful design and atmosphere. The music is suitably eerie as well. Great work!
 "from scratch" pouvait porter à confusion oui haha
Sinon un jeu vraiment sympa et original nice job :)

This is amazing! Looks, sounds and feels great - Can't wait to see what you guys make in the future!
Just finished it and damn - this thing is great. The atmosphere is top notch, so is the art.
Great atmosphere, great graphics. I wish it was longer so you could improve on the gameplay mechanics :)
A little bug I encountered. I kind of lost my head there ... ;) den.PNG
Great entry! I felt like the creature was confused, looking at the level design and character design. Much like the workers of the mine. It's like they disturbed the sleep of the monster, and both are just confused and not understanding each other. The graphics were great, as well as the atmosphere set trough design, lighting and sounds. I also really liked how the monster was animated, it felt really tangible. I wished for it to be longer, I want to know what happens to the monster.
All in all a really good entry with great atmosphere!

Fantastic! Loved it!
Extremely atmospheric, and fun to play. Great work!
Beautiful stuff, congrats! Really enjoyed the overall atmosphere. Gameplay/mechanics weren't the best, but that's not what this game is about. Really well done guys.
Very nice ! Overall the game stands out, I like the main mechanics, even if they're a bit hard to understand at first. Very nice proof of concept, and with amazing graphics and sound design. Well done !

That's so weird, I love it! :D the controls were irritating at first, but I figured it out quickly :) plus they really compliment the gameflow. I got stuck when I didnt understand rightaway that you need to keep clicking and then dragging (I thought like in a moba) because I didn't know how to turn around but after I figured it out it was all good. :)
It was disturbingly satisfying to kill these workers and listen to their screams xD

Great art and a very interesting theme, this is a cool and enjoyable entry, congrats!
I love the art style. It is also an interesting and unique concept. I did notice one spot going up from just before the second base where I wasn't able to go any further and there was no air current indicator there, although there should have been on as you can see when approaching from the opposite direction.
WOW! Just post only to say it's my highest score till now. When the next level?
The concept was really cool, and I really enjoyed the art and music. The controls were a bit complicated but overall it was really fun to play :) Great work! I look forward to playing more of your games!
Thank you so much guys, all of your feedbacks and comments are deeply encouraging !
Very cool idea! I love the art style and the atmospheric vibe, all of which contribute to the overall originality.
I'm not totally in love with the controls, I must say. I wonder if this kind of things might be better done with the keyboard.
Keep up the good work!

The best graphics I've encountered so far! I think they set the right atmosphere
Impressionnant projet.
This game looks STUNNING. I wasn't really sure what was I doing at all times, but i didnt care. The atmosphere is worth giving this game a few minutes. I got to the metal door and kept killing people until i just didnt know what to do anymore. This is a fantastic entry. I can't express enough how much I loved the graphics! The music fits perfectly, animations look great. Hope you guys keep working on it! Best of luck!

This is really amazing. The graphics are extremely well done, the sound design is fantastic and the idea is cool as well. No idea what was going on and I'm not sure if the controls were just weird or if I was doing something wrong, but I think I got the hang of it after a while. I think they could use some work though. Overall this is an amazing job for a game jam. Really awesome work.

Cool game. Played it in WebGL
Unusual and fun! The parallax movement and all the artwork were well-executed. I wasn't sure what to do at the last room other than just keep knocking the guys off the catwalk.
This is absolutely gorgeous, and the controls were really cool for being completely mouse driven. Had a little trouble charging on occasion but it wasn't really an issue.
Also got stuck at the button base. Managed to get some men down below but nobody would press the button -- I think that was the puzzle because it was big, bright and red, but didn't seem like I ever made any progress on that front.
Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to see what you all do next!
Fun game, left me wanting to play more. Love the graphics. Controls are unique, not sure I like the click and drag mechanic, but its nice to play a game with just a mouse and a mouse button every once in a while.
Would love for you to check out our entry in the Jam:
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/super-natural-defense
WOW! that was pretty sweet, really enjoyed the atmospheric music, the crazy looking creature and the interesting level design. I loved just moving the creature and making it scream! :)
I did get stuck in the first set of wind tunnels, right after you get to the second set of men. You can do down and then you get to a one way wind tunnel going to the west. I somehow got behind the wall and was not able to get out. Other then that it was a very enjoyable game!

Very nicely captured atmosphere of a powerful yet trapped beast with sounds, controls and graphics. A little glitchy movement. Bien fait.
Nice sound design and artwork. The controls were a bit unwieldy for me, often screaming or headbutting when I meant to simply move. Also, the wind in the tunnels seemed a bit pointless. The last puzzle was interesting but to actually solve it without just trying everything I think you needed another area in the game that establishes that the scream can scare the humans and make them move and do things for you. All in all nice work team.

A really nice experience. I wanted it to go on for longer, haha.
Wow, that was really atmospheric experience. Solid graphics and sound and really good work putting it all together to make fresh experience for player. The controls felt little clunky, and I had a strange bug when at some point of the game the head of the beast just disappeared. Couldn't beat it, stuck in the room with metal door not knowing what to do next.

This is obviously a fantastic looking and sounding game, especially considering the development time frame. I can see from the postmortems you wrote how much work went into it. I really appreciate you creating the postmortems and showing us how this was developed in more detail.
Others have already mentioned issues with not knowing what to do, or more importantly knowing what is POSSIBLE to do, which can be frustrating for the player. I'm sure given more time though, the mechanics of the game could have been taught to the player more effectively; perhaps with the beast engaging with smaller animals before actual humans (i.e. lower stakes situations).
The mouse controls were tricky at times but I think this somewhat fit with the awkwardness of the beast awaking from slumber and being in such a confined space. I do like the theme of the beast being in an environment that is too small for it but this could have perhaps been emphasized more. Perhaps with the inclusion of small tunnels that the beast simply couldn't get through, forcing the player to navigate via the longer (but accessible) path. Still, it was a great (and uncommon) take on the Small World theme. The player using fear to manipulate the NPCs is an interesting idea too that could definitely be built upon.

Like a combination of Lemmiwinks and The Last Guardian. I was very impressed with the art and atmosphere. This has a lot of potential for a great atmospheric puzzle game and I would love to see more. Like the other players I got stuck at the door too. I tried making something happen to the controls near the door but I couldn't figure it out unfortunately but that doesn't take away from the very interesting concept you guys have going here. Nice work!

Innovative idea and a very unique atmosphere. I loved the sense of feeling like a huge creature when squishing those little bugger workers :construction_worker: I know there was not a whole lot of time for this jam but I would have liked more puzzle elements like the one at end which I thought was pretty neat!

Amazing game! I love the pixel art and the whole atmosphere. Even if the mouse controls were just a little bit tricky at the beginning it feels great to control the powerful giant beast through the tunnels. The second base is a great puzzle and it feels good after finding out how to solve it. I wish there were more levels!

I super enjoyed this! I don't think there's anything enlightening I can say that I'm sure others haven't already mentioned but I shall try anyway!
Art/sound/atmosphere-wise everything gels together so well and cohesively it's all fantastic. The scream and the animation that go with it are so so good. The movement of creature feels great as well with it's many segments and all.
I adore the change of scale when you first encounter the people. I didn't see the screenshots so that was a nice surprise for me!
Last puzzle was a bit under-telegraphed. Mostly because I went to hit the upper platform and wasn't precise enough, so assumed it wasn't interactable. Perhaps it's hitbox could be a bit more generous (or perhaps it is and I can't aim!) If there was time I'd say maybe offer a simpler puzzle earlier on with the walkway, that's perhaps blatantly blocking something (like you did the rocks before), so you know it's something that can be moved by the player. I know you can't cram everything into a game jam though!
Really well done though, I had a great time with it. :)
Great mood all around (sound, pixel art, fx, music, gameplay, everthing fits well together), nice work on the details. I was annoyed by the beast getting stuck sometimes but in a sense it fits the gameplay ad the atmosphere.
Bravo !
Wow, I'm totally in awe. This game is great. Way, way too short - I hope you make it into a fuller game. Also with gamepad controls or something, because the mouse controls get a bit tiresome.
The look and feel, the art, the mood, the idea, the panicky little humans, and the very atmospheric music, everything's just fantastic. Great job!
And thanks for having played/rated/commented on my game as well. Appreciate it!
That was pretty intense. the scream of the creature, the unsettling beepboops of the music, the exciting screems of the tiny people.
Found this weird bug that made my entire body come apart with i charged up an attack towards my center lol.png

This is my favorite entry in the jam so far! Great art direction, and some stellar audio to back it up and create a truly intense mood. The creature is a bit hard to control with the mouse (specifically the mouse going out of the game area) and I believe keyboard controls might have worked better, but it wasn't that much of a bother. I also accidentally killed the humans when I didn't want to, which was sad, but hey it's a giant creature with a giant body - some things are out of their control! Great stuff!

A Nice atmospheric game, the mood, and audio are cool. I have problems with controls tho, I don't like them much, but it doesn't compromise too much my experience. Nice game overall :)
Interesting game. The art style and atmosphere is amazing.
Very cool entry. Nice work!
Wow, this game is simply amazing.
The art and the music blended really nice together and created a really creepy atmosphere!
Although, I do have to criticize a little bit about the control. It felt quite clunky to keep holding the mouse to move and attack (maybe use a different key for the attack).
Overall, good job on the game!

Good gfx and nice atmosphere, too bad that it is a bit short, it went by very quickly. The music is very nice and suspenseful although the loop was a bit short.
The creature design and the way it moved through the tunnels was fanstaic. Sound and mood work really well to make an original game. I did find controlling the creature A little difficult.
This game looks amazing and the audio is also really good. Sadly, there is not much gameplay to be had. There wasn't really much to other than walking and that last puzzle. That last puzzle was really fun tho. If the game had more puzzles it would have been much better in my opinion. I think the controls could be improved. First of all you could have used the right mouse button for screaming and hitting and the left for moving. Instead of doing everything one button. Also, you could have given the option to control it with the keyboard. In summary, the gameplay is lacking but the art and the music superb.
Amazing atmosphere, art and music. I really liked it, but even reading some comments I couldn't finish the game (got stuck at the second "base" too). Anyways, for a jam it's clearly a superb experience that i'd love to play again if it evolves on a bigger post-jam game.
Congrats, you did a great job!

Such a stunning visual game! I really love the creature and all the details (when you scream, hairs of humans are shaking ^^) The music & sound brings a lot of life to this strange world. Plus the work on particles are really appreciated.
I succeed to finish the second base by entering the metal door, is it the end of the game?
Anyway, a lot of work, a pretty good engine, I'd like to see it as a real game, with maybe more background / explanation of who we are, who they are.
Amazing entry, well done guys :)

Well done, I got out :) Now I'm presented with a white screen saying "DEN" and that's it, I guess. Absolutely hilarious, the controls, the creature, the puny humans, the maze, sounds and music, animation, everything! :)

Really good mood created with the graphics and music. I did get a bit lost at some points, but overall a great entry!
One of the best I've played so far!
A few criticisms: - end screen doesn't properly register as the game having ended (you can still click and have the beast make noises and whatnot) - providing WASD + an action button as a keyboard alternative would have been a nice touch (the mouse controls aren't that bad, but they are a bit finnicky) - the game is very short, and even in that short span the scream mechanic is very underused
Having said that, the amount of work included in the game is already very impressive. It would be interesting to see a longer version with more things to do, but it's already solid entry from start to finish!
Wow, this is so good. I haven't seen a game here with this much athmosphere, what a great mood. The music is very cool and does a great job at not becoming annoying after some minutes. The graphics are excellent, the monster looks and moves awesome and you even have some rubble in the foreground. The sounds also add a lot to the mood. The movement works well and is fun in itself. What i find most impressive is, that a story gets told here without letters. I'm getting strong "Inside" vibes, especially when manipulating the guys in the end.
I would love to play more!
I'm not sure why, but i killed everyone i found. I took a minute to find out what the last door is about. The red light nicely hinted at the switch. I knocked guys down by accident, but then i didn't really know what to do. Since the were cowering i thought i might go away, so they open the door and flee. At this point i forgot that i could scream because i didn't need it so far (which of course was the solution)! This is no criticism, just a feedback on what i thought and did there.
I said this some times now (it's always true): best game so far. Looking at the rating, i doubt a better one will come :D
PS: Seeing your fantastic game, i feel really honored that you tried mine!
Well, nice entry. How you make the enviroment is very amazing. Controls are ok, sometimes its get stuck and den stop moving. Music fits very well with the mood of the game. It would be amazing if it would be more level to play.
Great work and good job!
Nice, scary mood, the audio (beast and screaming) is really well made!
After a while the beast stuck in itself in an empty cave, other than that the control is fine. I really like games with easy one-button control!
wow :)
This game is amazing. I like how the beast looks like it was made by drawing a bunch of hairballs stuck together by code.
Wow, look at all the comments! This was a very cool game. It had a well implemented dark atmosphere, and a graphical style that fit it perfectly. The music was very good, and the controls were easy to pick up. Good job!

An intriguing concept, graphics and the gameplay was nice. The controls were a bit awkward, mostly having to click and drag to move anywhere. Audio and atmosphere were great too. Overall this had a nice amount of playtime, and was just a great entry. Nice work!

Wow! Fantastic atmosphere and feeling cruising through all those claustrophobic tunnels. Same problems as everyone else, got stuck on puzzle, hard to turn around, managed to detach not only head but multiple body parts. Amazing job all up. Incredibly impressive!
I loved the graphics and the sfx! Well done!!

Great job here! Loved the graphics and souds! Maybe the game is too short, I wish had to play more levels! Anyway, really well done here! :)
Hey! Nice game! I understand that you've already received a tonne of feedback so I'm going to try and go detailed here.
**What you did well**
The graphics worked really well. Your choice of colours created a great atmosphere and "earthy" look. The sprites were really well done, I liked the roar animation even though sometimes the head of the fox-wolf-thing would come off. The ambient music worked really well with this game and somehow gave a sense of the power that this beast had.
I also really liked the last room. I had to go to the comments to figure out how to beat it but when I read the comment that said: "you can kill them all, but should you?" it really made me realise the true meaning of the game. Loved it.
**What you could improve on**
Apart from the head sometimes coming off, one other problem I had was with the last room. At first, I guessed that I had to attack the switch but it wouldn't work. It took me a bit of time before I realised you could attack the bridge with the people on it. The ending also seemed a bit abrupt with just the logo coming up but I guess if you had more time, you could always change it.
The only other thing I can say would be to make it longer but I enjoyed it as it is anyway.
In conclusion, this is definitely one of the best games I have played this LD. And I hear this is your first? A very good quality game, I enjoyed it.
I liked the music and screaming noises :) It wasn't very convenient to move half-[..., fox] as usually it roared or attacked when I wanted to move. Despite on fact, that I liked understanding how last room worked, seems complexity raised a lot comparing to things before that. Anyway, that is just advises - great work :)

The art :O
It looked so good. Visuals and audio were one of the best I've seen.
Last puzzle was... I was expecting everything but not this solution.
Playing Deponia with my girlfriend paid off I guess...
Den who? You mean Den Den Den Den Den Den? ;) Amazing work. Loved the music and the smooth movement of this "beast". I loved the narrow path and the screams: you conveyed a great amount of distress (and awesomness):D
Innovation control and great graphics. But the gameplay is a little short and game goal is not clear defined.
Very thankful that you have shared your development details! Helps me a lot because I plan to make a 2d game next jam but I donnot know what software to use

Saw your comment on my game and thought I'd check this out. I remembered seeing something about this game on twitter and had to play. Had no idea it was for Ludum Dare, amazing game for such as short period of time. Loved the art, audio, gameplay, everything. 10/10
Really liked the graphics and sounds. The gameplay was also nice but the controls weren't the best. You still did a very nice job :)

Big fan! It was a great little game! Graphics were amazing and the music kept me playing! I did missed the instructions at the start so I kind of lost a bit of time figuring it out. My suggestion, teach the player to play the game as you move through the puzzles. Otherwise, great amazing concept! Be proud of what you made :D

Gameplay was short but I had really fun :) Nobody tell bad thing about that awesome pixelart and animation .
Very interesting aesthetics choices. Gives a good claustrophobic feel, like horror game but the player is the scary thing and not the fleeing thing.
The controls are a bit awkward since the touch pad on my laptop does have a dedicated button for clicking (the entire touchpad is pressed down for clicking). It's mostly manageable. But dedicated keyboard keys for moving, screaming and hitting would probably help.
I could not get past the second mining site. It there a puzzle to solve? Hint?

I loved the doomy atmosphere, very much akin to a good monster movie.
The mouse only controls felt a little weird, probably better on a touch device.
I felt there was more story than I experienced. Why was I doing what I was doing? Was I escaping or invading or getting them to leave? Was I the thing that woke because they dug to deep? Not answering that adds a little mystery flavor, but also makes it kind of weird, because I normally know the motivation of the character I am playing.
The visuals and, especially, the audio, are really brilliant here. Like many others, I got stuck at the second mining site, but hey, that just gave me more time to admire the running animation of the one guy running forever across the catwalk above me (he must be _really_ tired by now )
I don't know if you plan to expand this into something larger? I'm not sure how that would actually work, honestly. I could see some really neat environmental storytelling opportunities with the environments you'd have the player move through, but I'm not sure what gameplay mechanics you could add to keep the gameplay interesting for an extended length. It doesn't really feel right to have the giant monster solving puzzles, and fighting other giant monsters (or the puny humans) would sort of spoil the mood, it seems like. Still, if you did come up with something, I'd be first in line to try it out.
In any case, _as_ a Jam entry, it's really great, regardless.

The game doesn't really have any obstacles other than the 1 kind of puzzle at the end. I think the art is good and the audio is very good as well.
I think too much time went in to the polish of the game and the actual gameplay could of used some more time. I enjoyed playing as this creature and finding my way through the tunnels. The ram and roar mechanic have a lot of uses for puzzles so it really just is lacking in that one area. Other than that it is very nice.
2017-05-14 07:47
fantastic game. Great art, color, and music. But when I found that you didn't have to kill any one person to pass,it's really melancholy. (I use google translation,so lol)

So much bloodshed! Love the art style, its a fun game idea. I got the feeling of being a creature that had been woken up after a long slumber and was bewildered and confused about all the tiny little things that are running around making screeching noises. More puzzles from the beginning would be a good enhancement.

My fav game so far!
This is one of the first games I played, yet somehow I completely forgot to rate or comment!?!? I'm glad I came back before the voting ended!
This is a beautiful game and I like the different play mechanics you got in there. It looks and sounds wonderful - creating a fantastic atmosphere. You could easily expand this into a full game. It reminds me a little of Badland crossed with Inside - two games that you can be very proud to be rubbing shoulders with!
Superb work!

Seriously. Wow. Congrats on your first LD, and a super impressive entry to start off with!
The art and audio combined to make an impressive atmosphere. The screams from the poor guys running away... hahaha! I enjoyed the little puzzle bit at the end to get them to open the door.
In a way, this reminded me of Inside a little, it has the same darkness to it. A full game of this could do really well.

Greate visuals and sounds. The controlls are very easy. Great game!
Wow, beautiful pixel art. Amazing job on the animation of the creature and the miners running scared and popping out blood. Really, amazing job on the art department. Audio was good as well, not as good as the graphics, but still good. Nice mood. The only complaint about the game is that I wasn't actually having fun, but I'm not one to thing that every game should be fun. Amazing job!

Amazing job, there are a few problems with certain colliders in narrow tunnels and there isn't that much content, but besides that, everything is perfect.
I think the creature is a mixture of a fox, a bear, and some sort of dairy goods.
Really nice game, I like the art and atmosphere of it. Great job!
Really like the art, but there was a bug where if I turned back on myself and used the hit my head would detach from my body. Great atmosphere, presence, and feel, but pretty short (more like in demo territory) and felt it could use some polish on the code.
The whole mood of the game is great, nice design and nice atmosphere. I was stucked in the second human base thing, I'm not sure if that's the end of the game or I'm very bad at playing it haha. As feedback on how I think could be improved for a release or extension, I think that what you did with the controllers was nice because you can feel that the beast is huge and moves according but sometimes was a bit frustrating trying to move it and was stucked on a wall, polishing the controllers a little bit would help, I think. Good game!
This is phenomenal. Being a terrifying, screeching monster that relentlessly crawls out of the depths to freedom is a lot of fun, especially when you can squish a gaggle of construction workers on your way out. I liked that you had to scream at the workers to get them to open the door, almost like the creature was saying "HEY, I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!"
Movement felt great, the creature has a ton of weight and power behind it. The sound and art are also spot on and accentuate the claustrophobia of the situation. This was a really fun entry to play.
This had a lot of cool interesting mechanics in it. I'd love to see some more levels fleshed out, but the current world looks and feels great! I love the puzzle element at the end, I'm sure that's something that could be fleshed out in more levels as well. The music was really good and gave this a very solid atmosphere. Keep it up!
Woowww... the game was really terrific.... i just loved the game atmosphere .... graphics, music. 5 star in all categories from my side. Great Game !!! Do try my game also... i will love to have your reviews https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/sunken-mystery

Awesome entry! Very neurotic and creepy, reminded me a bit of the end of Inside. I personally felt the controls were clunky, but I was playing in WebGL, will definitely be giving this a try on an android device later! awesome work!

This game was pure zen. It's funny how relaxing it felt to kill a bunch of scared humans. :D The graphics are absolutely astonishing and fit the theme really well. I didn't quite get what the goal was in the beginning but I was enchanted anyways. I had some instances where I got stuck in a weird corner, which was a little frustrating, but it was a lot of fun nevertheless.

Thank you for making this game and playing and rating so much games! I love the audio and bookmarked your blog post about it because I think I could learn something from you. :) One of the best games I played this Ludum Dare. You guys deserve so much feedback.
What a strange creature ! And scary !

I loved this entry, great work on the atmosphere, mood, graphics... Gameplay was also responding really well, except the hitting feature that sometimes was a bit hard to perform. But really solid entry ! Good job !
Such a cool feeling to play as this strange beast. I thought the way it looked as it moved around was brilliant. Mood and music is great -- phenomenal entry!
Very nice one. The ending was cool. I felt the fear of the "miners"... The atmosphere is really great.
This game is very well executed.
I sometimes managed to separate all monster parts when screaming or hitting, but it didn't feel too awkward. :)
Well done!
