LD38 — A Small World

The Village by Gipzo 2017-05-12T12:40:40Z

Excellent little game, love the graphics and music - A fun quasi-simulator which was enjoyable to play.

A few points though: - The game is really easy, I don't think I had any aggression from travellers, or even close - Just chucking money at everything fixed all problems (reflective of life!) - As mentioned before, I played for a few minutes after upgrading everything, wondering if something else was going to happen, or an ending condition - just sorta had to stop playing and assumed it was over.

Nice work!

Pretty innovative for the theme! Reminds me of [The Pedestrian](https://the-pedestrian.itch.io/the-pedestrian) in the platforming multi screens, but with added movement in the real world.

the most memorable game I've played during this LDJam for sure! Great work!

A Perfectly Lovely Expedition by cerno-b 2017-05-06T17:08:31Z

Nice game! I struggled to figure out that I _didn't_ have to keep digging around to find more purple things after I initially powered the ship, and ended up digging until I revealed every rock assuming I had to find more of the stuff. Figured it out after that fairly quickly though.

The music and art of the little guy was great, and I enjoyed the day/night cycle. Excellent job!

Slimes in Panic by KayZ 2017-05-12T11:30:09Z

Very Settlers II! Would be interested to see this develop into something playable. However I'm not sure if I've been doing something wrong, but none of the buildings do anything, right? Slimes go to the middle of roads and hop around, then.. that is it?

The game also froze after building more than 10 buildings.

A good base to work on though!

Lovely artwork, and the mechanics are pretty sound as well as the pace in which they are introduced! Only gripe is that it doesn't seem the fit the theme at all, but is a great LD entry nonetheless!

Space Migrator by jackyjjc 2017-05-06T16:55:37Z

Managed to get 680! Nice game and concept, fits the theme perfectly. Was fun to play and found myself replaying to beat my score, a good step! A good point of improvement would be to zoom out and have a bit more space between the pod spawn points and the planet, as it is rather close and zoomed in at the moment.

Great entry, good work!

I struggled to make one game, and here you are with seven! Nice work!

Small Board by renatopp 2017-05-12T11:43:31Z

Great minimal graphics and eased animations, very pleasant to look at!

Some observations: - Played two rounds, and found that fighting the enemies was pointless almost all the time, better to grab the king and leg it without stopping; this could be addressed by nerfing the enemies and making combat a viable path, which leads to.. - The enemies are way, way too hard; extremely numerous and very powerful, forces the player to take the single route of rushing to win, as any other method is impossible to win with. - The big pop-up of information was overwhelming and far too long - a very condensed in-game tip system would've been far more effective in relaying important information in bite-sized chunks.

All in all, a decent entry, great work! Hope you enjoyed LD!

The Space Dwarf Brigade by BionicalBarbieDoll 2017-05-06T17:14:12Z

Congratulations on your first game and LDJam! The game was fun, took me ages to realise the player sprite was a turret or some sort(?) and not a guy clutching his head at the fact a laser beam is blasting out of it. I like the simplistic art style, could've done with some sound effects, but I know those can be a pain when first learning Unity (I wasted a few hours in my entry trying to figure out how to shoehorn in sound properly!)

Excellent entry, well done!

NUKEBALL by camilovr 2017-05-17T13:52:34Z

I'm not really sure what is happening, it took me a good ten - twenty seconds of clicking, hitting WASD and the arrow keys in vain, to finally hit the ? to see what the controls actually were. Then it was only really after reading the comments that I figured out what the actual aim of the game was.

With a lot of polish, keyboard controls and explanation of controls and aim, this could be a decent political commentary! It was fun once I figured out the above!

Islands in Equilibrium by NekuSoul 2017-05-06T16:25:47Z

A pretty original puzzle mechanic for the theme, really fun to play! You should totally develop this further after the LDJam, a few points: - A faint grid to better judge where tiles can be placed and count before playing out a level - An even fainter ghosting of the tiles you laid in the previous (failed) turn to allow tweaking of solution - If you have five water tiles to place, after selecting a water tile, you should be able to click 5 times to place them, rather than going back and forth to the sidebar.

Great work!

Island Attack by turbo 2017-05-12T11:35:16Z

As said before, pretty easy to just coast along the top carpet bombing until completion! Controls are rather odd, didn't really get used to them even after a couple of minutes - Would benefit from having movement mapped to arrow keys with actions around WASD to allow easy two-handed use - dive bombing is pretty impossible and firing towards the ground whilst also doing evasive maneuvers is really tricky with the current layout.

I like the game idea though, with some additional development you could turn this into something pretty neat! Nice work!

This is amazing! Looks, sounds and feels great - Can't wait to see what you guys make in the future!

Thanks for playing @rustywolf! I think I managed to fix it in the final moments of the jam window!
