Very funny background setting and dialog and mission briefing. I got the score of 280. Yay! :joy:

john-holden 2017-05-01 05:01

Hi! I really liked the feeling of our game, and the mission briefing and ways you introduced the game were pretty funny. I thought that the building placing was a rough around the edges, but that's to be expected from a jam game. I also really liked the slow spinning of all the buildings on the planet, it really helped make it feel like it was on a tiny planet. Overall, very nice, simple game with lots of polish!

wtoa 2017-05-01 05:05

This is a great game, for a compo submission this is really well done! Although, I would have preferred it if I could rotate the world instead but that's just personal preference :P

jhandsy 2017-05-01 05:06

Really nice concept! I deffo played endless mode for a while! I think with a little gameplay variation you could have yourself a pretty solid puzzle game!

I really wanted to be able to smash things up by crashing buildings into the sides of towers. Also I think you should zoom out the view a bit sooner than you do.

szczebel1995 2017-05-01 05:10

Nice game! I like the concept and the introduction is short and funny as it should be :D

simple-blue 2017-05-01 06:41

Cool game. Nice an easy controls and concepts to follow. Intuitive enough to not need the tutorial but awesome that you managed to complete one as well! It felt full. Good work!

tiny-planet-studios 2017-05-01 09:57

Really solid concept with an execution that is quite strong considering the time constraint. The gameplay feels nice and with a few more module types this could actually push its way into being a solid puzzle game. The only serious issue is that the game doesn't zoom out fast enough meaning that for the first few blocks in a tower you can only gain some height if the next block spawns directly above the tower, which is a pain given that the mechanics push this towards being a leader-board game. The lack of music also had the world feeling a bit desolate but that's really a small complaint.

overall this was a fun game, I enjoyed myself. Well done.

drtizzle 2017-05-01 10:07

Very well executed game! Graphics are clean and the gameplay is easy to understand. It would be nice if the camera zoomed out some more, and the blocks would spawn a little higher because sometimes you cannot rotate a block in time to stack it onto another one.

Well done!

loktor 2017-05-01 10:18

Fun little game, i especially like that you managed to include some objectives, that made the game quite a bit more interesting :) One thing that would have been better initially tho was that the zoom factor is really limited in the beginning a bit more would have been nice initially :D Really enjoyed the game tho, would make a nice mobile game :)

geeitsomelaldy 2017-05-01 10:22

Great game, got the hang of it quite quickly. Very easy - though I could see it becoming quite difficult if you let it continue + added more pod types and goals.

ysty 2017-05-01 10:28

A really good idea well executed! The camera was maybe a little tight but that's a small niggle.

shurty 2017-05-01 10:35

That was really fun! Enjoyed playing this, easy to understand and challenging enough. Well done!

toestee 2017-05-01 11:00

I really liked this game, it reminded me a lot of a game I used to have on my phone in like 2007. My only criticism would be that the camera is very close to the planet in the start and as the towers get taller it's still quite close to the tops of them.

odefus 2017-05-01 11:09

The initial camera could use some zooming out. Seeing a tall tower collapse in endless mode starting a domino effect around the whole planet felt quite satisfying. Had fun with it.

tbureck 2017-05-01 12:49

OH NO! Massive collapse at ~3600 points in endless mode. New habitat destroyed - check!

Nice little game, I like those tower stacking ones anyways. As others have pointed out already, I would've preferred, if the camera was zoomed out a tiny bit more from the beginning so that you can see where the next pod is coming from earlier.

kcreanor 2017-05-01 12:54

Really great game, nice concept and well put together. I would have liked to have the camera zoomed out just a little to give you better control over where you're stacking the later ones, and if it went on a bit longer it'd be great to try and squeeze loads and loads onto the planet, I felt like I was just starting a level then it was over? Guess that just means it's a great game and I just wanted to play more!! Really fun with nice clean graphics, great submission, well done

xavier-indie-gamedev 2017-05-01 13:44

Nice little game, cool concept. Wish the camera could have been further out - made it way too hard to stack! Could have benefited from some music too (even if you opted-out).

Anyway, good job :)

jackyjjc 2017-05-01 13:59

@kcreanor Sorry I didn't have time to make more levels but I did manage to add an endless mode in before the time was up. On the ending screen if you press 'C' you can enter endless mode :)

jackyjjc 2017-05-01 14:06

Thanks everyone for playing my game and giving awesome feedbacks. I have to sleep now but I will make sure I played all of your games if you left a comment here.

Again many thanks for playing :grinning:

jackyjjc 2017-05-01 14:07

@tbureck Haha yea once one of the tower falls, it tend to have domino effect. I really appreciate your feedback and glad that you are enjoying it. I haven't played your game yet but I will make sure to play it tomorrow after work. Thank you very much for playing!

jackyjjc 2017-05-01 14:10

@wtoa I thought of making the game to be controlling the planet instead of the blocks but I feel like controlling the blocks feels more real. Would be an interesting experiment to see what happens if the player controls the planet instead. Thanks for playing and leaving feedback btw :)

jackyjjc 2017-05-01 14:10

@jhandsy I will make sure putting that on my to-do list for this game :)

jackyjjc 2017-05-01 14:11

@tiny-planet-studios @xavier-indie-gamedev Thanks for the feedback. I was considering adding music but I lack experience so I didn't have time to learn and make some music. Any tips?

jackyjjc 2017-05-01 14:12

I will make sure to address the camera issue in post-LD updates. Thanks guys :)

xavier-indie-gamedev 2017-05-01 16:22

@jackyjjc well for my game, I found my sound guys through Reddit, and the music they made was AMAZING. And there's no shortage of supply either (we had 3 on our team). So my tip for next time would just be to make a post on Reddit saying you're looking for a composer! Or if you're planning just to do compo (i.e. not teaming with a sound person) you could also just find some free royalty-free tracks online!

rialgar 2017-05-01 16:59

Very nice prototype. It is on the easy side, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. I think it should end in a 'get as far as you can' mode, were everything collapses once you reach a certain height (crushing the lowest pods).

lurumdurum 2017-05-01 17:25

Fun game! I thought it was really cool that the pods tumble down and create a domino like effect, although I wished the camera would zoom out a bit earlier :)

dgspitzer 2017-05-02 04:17

A tiny but nice game. It will be even better if add some harder levels (e.g. alien intrusion defense mode).

damien-remars 2017-05-02 18:56

Short, but with a lot of potential! I agree on the zoomout advice... Congrats though!

jaenis 2017-05-02 19:55

Great game! Had to play it on endless for a while after finishing the story. Great concept!

ironchest 2017-05-02 20:37

This is a fun idea! Some polishing on the difficulty might be needed but the story-telling and the ease of play is really good! Great work!

blinry 2017-05-03 10:34

Wow, nice compo entry! I really liked the graphics! Feels really polished! I also like the slow introduction of mechanics and the story! I also think the camera should zoom out earlier. Add some music, and this would be a really polished game! If you want, please keep me updated should you release a new version of this! :)

Are there only three levels, or do I just lose every time at that point?

Sometime, I had a glitch which collapsed my towers after level goal dialogs. Oh, and the Linux version does not work for me – complains "There is no data folder" (even though it is definitely there ;-)

jackyjjc 2017-05-03 14:25

@blinry very sorry about the Linux build. I didn't have time to test it and I just assume it works because it was generated by Unity. (#whatcouldpossiblygowrong :p)

There are only 3 levels at the moment (again due to lack of time), but there is an endless mode I built in at the last minute. You can enter it by pressing 'C' on the end game screen.

And yes I encountered the bug with physics not being applied properly at the briefing screen myself as well but I didn't have time to investigate and fix it. I will put it on my to-do list. Thanks for all the kind words and hopefully I will be able to make it into a full game :)

ryuko13 2017-05-03 17:28

Amazing game! You should also add a way to destroy your towers in endless mode. It would be fun to see the destruction :)

blinry 2017-05-03 18:40

@jackyjjc: Thanks for your detailed reply, I appreciate it! :)

makenai 2017-05-03 18:57

I like the use of the theme in the story and the phrase "But wait, this planet if very small" stuck in my head like a catch phrase. Glad you added endless mode as the main goal is pretty easy. Well done!

hethsin 2017-05-04 14:31

Really cool entry. Really like the graphic design, gameplay seems very solid. Original and works very well with the theme presented.

howardcs 2017-05-04 18:38

It was all going so well until my stacks collapsed like a row of dominoes. It's going to be a long day filling out all that paperwork.

nomaki 2017-05-06 16:55

Managed to get 680! Nice game and concept, fits the theme perfectly. Was fun to play and found myself replaying to beat my score, a good step! A good point of improvement would be to zoom out and have a bit more space between the pod spawn points and the planet, as it is rather close and zoomed in at the moment.

Great entry, good work!

cogcomp 2017-05-07 08:15

Nice stacking game. The planet felt a bit too close, until it zoomed out the first time, or maybe my reflexes are just terrible :-)

conrad123 2017-05-07 14:09

Nice game. I agree with @cogcomp about the beginning display size. Maybe you could have made the game a little bit longer? Just some thoughts. Good work.

martenscedric 2017-05-07 19:43

Great game overall, I thought the spawn is a bit too close to your stack size at the start (maybe the distance should decrease overtime) Great entry its definitely in my favorites!

ianmorrison 2017-05-08 05:43

Solid compo game! I liked how the towers started to teeter as they got taller. The campaign was a bit on the short and easy side, though, would have loved to have seen it get a bit harder.

pcmaster 2017-05-08 18:02

Nice! I vote up for the humour :) I'm not gonna say how much you could have put it, just good job putting it all together! Cheers :)

wobbleboxx 2017-05-08 18:45

Nice concept. I had some trouble with lags, but other than that I enjoyed it! Keep it up :)

jangamesdev 2017-05-08 21:36

Really nice polished game, the minimalistic graphics works really well.

Spend some time in endless mode after the game ends (Really sad that the game is so short, objectives were fun) and the chain reactions that happens when you have large towers and something fails are fun to watch.

simonreiser 2017-05-09 15:32

Nice compo entry (even with intro)!

Gravity is not applied when reading the instructions for the next level, so the buildings are slowly moving away from the planet.

I really would have loved to see some more levels!

huvaakoodia 2017-05-09 17:48

Great idea and solid execution. Way too easy and short, but that is expected for a jam title.

My major complaint this time, as usual, is the controls. An age old problem really, if the house is below the planet the controls seem reversed i.e. pressing right moves the house left. One way to go around this problem is to use the mouse instead of the arrow keys. This would also be a mobile friendly input system.

Good work overall.

athomicus 2017-05-10 08:22

great and interesting game

rnlf 2017-05-10 12:15

Interesting idea! I didn't understand if the colour made any difference at all? I would have liked some additional difficulties.

rujo 2017-05-10 15:43

very original idea, fits very well with the theme i'm thinking it could also work on mobile, you should put a rotating-touch control to it (instead of rotating the landing "thing" you rotate the whole word using touch control)

nekusoul 2017-05-12 12:38

Nice graphics and a good difficulty curve. The distance the blocks spawn from the planet could be a bit higher, but fun nontheless.
