LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Toy House Attack by floorman 2014-12-09T13:08:00

The environment looks cool, it's pretty detailed, that's good. After a few seconds of playing I saw that you and the snowmen are able to walk across the tables. This didn't feel really well, since it looks like there is no collision. Then I saw the snowmen being held back by walls and realised, "ooooh, they move OVER the table", and that's pretty cool!

The gameplay is pretty simple, a few power-ups would have been great. Would have made the game more interactive. The snowman sound is great, love it, as well as the way the dig up from the ground. :)

Octogonal Switcher by Jogy34 2014-12-10T09:08:00

Pretty unique gameplay, nice! The color changes are a bit distracting though. I do like the gravity changes in different sections, gives you a bit of a hard time climbing towards the lights, since you need to keep your rotation in mind. :)

Little Dude's Epic Adventure by Jim Haslett 2014-12-10T15:21:00

The narrator part was pretty cool, I like how it was done. The level changing mechanic was pretty cool as well, you could do some cool stuff with that. :)

Screen Mover by Sh1rogane 2014-12-10T20:57:00

Very nice approach on the theme! It takes a few tries to get used to the concept, but very nicely done :D

Lighter by hcwool 2014-12-09T14:44:00

When I ran the game the mood of the game immediately grabbed me. I don't quite understand the goal of the game though. At first I was chasing the blue circles, but then they turned red, so I ran away from them.

I did notice the pickupables though, so I collected a few. :)

Cathode Ray by Figglewatts 2014-12-10T21:07:00

Very interesting concept, very! The music fits well, and kept my attention into the game. :)

Globby Online by Diamonde 2014-12-10T11:22:00

Good job for a first timer!

Even though the game doesn't look really great, it's actually pretty fun to play, haha. I love trying to just push other people around :D

TMO by aaronjbaptiste 2014-12-10T21:15:00

My god this is cool. Nuff said.

12 Hours by Wilson 2014-12-10T15:28:00

Niceeee, I like it! All the small details like the footprints and the dogs make the game really intense. :D

Neural Connectivity by Crefossus 2014-12-10T09:17:00

The movement needs some work, I was flying all over the space. Also, my mouse didn't clip inside the game window, so I couldn't do full spins :(

I think if you would have had more time, you could actually make a real game from this, because the 'quest' idea could be fun. :)

Shitty-Cy-Runner by purezero 2014-12-10T09:13:00

Nice game for a first timer!

Even though the controls are a bit weird (the long sliding), given the fact my enemy use the same moving logic, it makes up for it. For some reason, even though they get stuck a lot, they manage to steal a lot of stars. XD

Bombpopper by ixron 2014-12-10T15:30:00

Simple, solid gameplay. It just gets a bit boring after a while.

Alfred Bonzo by oxysoft 2014-12-10T15:17:00

Interesting concept! Indeed, things got out of hand fast, haha :D

Lost Worlds by Techblogogy 2014-12-10T20:31:00

Interesting approach on the theme. For the platforming though, the physics might need to be redone, haha. I was floating all over the place :D

Boagie Dodge by Boracho 2014-12-10T09:26:00

How simple this game may look, I had a few good tries with it, I enjoyed it. :)

That 'LIVE' in the top left corner, totally sets the mood :D

Life Goes On by sprawl 2014-12-10T13:35:00

Very interesting concept, took me a while to understand it.

Lost Path by louis.denizet 2014-12-10T09:44:00

Narrative games are not really my type of games, but I had to try it. I totally loved the art and the smooth voice telling the story! Nicely done! :D

I see you guys found a good solutions to the theme this time, because I haven't seen many games which use the theme to create something unique. :)

You should check out our solution to the theme this time, you might like it.

Dugeon Loop by sorle 2014-12-10T21:03:00

I think if you were to spend more time into really making this work, you could really make something cool. Even for this simple little game, it was fun to play for a few minutes. :)

Shame on the enemy AI though, they all got stuck in a corner somewhere :D

Derelict by Justin Mullin 2014-12-09T12:59:00

The screenshot looks interesting.

Since it's made in Java, I have trouble running the game. With my limited knowledge, I couldn't make the game run. :(

Defend the line by Anti 2014-12-12T16:48:00

It worked for me.

The gameplay was pretty straight forward. The first try I died, because there was so much coming for me. The second time I got a feel for it, and managed to defend for a really long time. Does the game get harder at all?

Anyway, apart from that I must say the graphics are rather.. unique. I'm not sure if I love or hate it, haha!

Lady Bug Alert by lionroot 2014-12-10T09:30:00

The first few tries I died really quick, then I figured out the pattern for certain lights appearing so I survived a bit longer. The controls feel good as well. :)

Other then that, the gameplay is pretty simple and it's only fun for a minute or two.

Syracruse Station by Erfeo 2014-12-09T12:54:00

My god this is addicting!

The gameplay is so much fun, even though it might look a bit simple. Instead of just using 4 different weapons which just shoot different types of bullets, you even added a freaking grappling hook, awesome! Also, the replenishing mechanic (that middle tower) makes the game really interactive, which is good. :)

A few feedback points:
- Five different weapons is great, but I had a hard time mastering the controls at first.
- The first time I played it, I got totally destroyed by the amount of enemy ships.

Ludum Fortress by EthanWebster 2014-12-09T14:36:00

I like the idea of a survival top-down shooter where you need to real-time buy ammo/upgrades and what not, makes the game a more interactive. Like it :)

On the other hand though, the bright red flash upon a next wave or an enemy death was really confusing. I thought I was game over, haha.

Lastly, the background music makes the game a bit more intense, which is good. The sound on an enemy death is a bit harsh, though.

Jungle Night by BitOfGold 2014-12-10T13:47:00

The graphics are amazing, they look really well! The game might be a bit simple, but I just had to try and stay alive for as long as possible.

Coinarium by Dohxis 2014-12-09T17:42:00

I like the idea of multiple coins spawning after you collect the first one, you get a good idea of what to do next.

In my opinion though, the game pace is a bit slow. Some times I just died because I couldn't wait and wanted to just jump for the coins! :D

The infinite jump also adds some interesting possibilities.

Screen Escape by concalf 2014-12-11T18:29:00

Pretty unique theme approach. The gameplay is a bit simple though, but the graphics totally make up for it. :)

Eschaton by klave 2014-12-09T10:04:00

selecting the text while holding mouse is quite annoying, and seems like I'm stuck in act3 scene1

One Screen Story by BK-TN 2014-12-10T12:15:00

The mood and story were really interesting. As soon as you hear more people talking about secrets, I wanted to know what it was :D

On the other hand, that part inside the mountain was a bit off in my opinion. I had fun exploring and trying to find stuff in order to complete quests, and then it changed in.. more of an obstacle course.

Great entry though. :)

DontSurrender by Dontre 2014-12-10T11:18:00

Had to think a few times before I actually understood what was happening, but a cool concept anyway :)

TDZSG by FlipskiZ 2014-12-09T17:33:00

Nice, solid gameplay, easy to understand and use. I like the idea of needing to buy supplies/upgrades while playing, instead of making a regular shop. :)

Some things though:
- Zombie AI could use some improvement
- You might want to consider using images instead of buttons text, because I hate to read while being eaten to death :D

Ferchault's Island by SushiDestroy 2014-12-10T12:22:00

Nice concept, like it! For 25% of what you wanted to do, it looks pretty cool already. Nice first entry :)

Memory Link by lurumdurum 2014-12-10T09:39:00

That is true, however some do get easier using it. But the main problem for this was time. Developing the levels was quite the challenge and took longer than anticipated

Encadenado by Deal With It 2014-12-10T11:59:00

Why is this so much fun!? :D

The only problem I had: I had to get used to the controls. After a while, when the combinations start to come, I didn't really know what order I had to press them. Apart from that, pretty fun!

Dark Vaimanika by d3garcia 2014-12-10T13:41:00

Even though it's pretty hard, and there is not much too it: I just had to finish it! I took my quite some tries though, but eventually I had control over the movement.

TITLE by Metamorphosis Games 2014-12-12T17:12:00

Even though I died a lot from the gravity, the theme interpretation is pretty good.

Dog Pile by StackAttack 2014-12-09T23:06:00

Indeed, your game's theme is similar to our teams approach, just a slightly other perspective; nice! I've played a few levels and I really like how you guys did the slides, very nicely done! :)

And yes, our game's main mechanic (overlapping levels) was a real pain in the ass. :P

Blockade by TheGreenTie 2014-12-11T18:35:00

First I was like, what's this? Then I was like WOWOWOMHYMGOODOOOD.

Memories of Seasons by ncannasse 2014-12-10T17:20:00

The mood of the game is really good, I just had to walk around the island a few times. The music totally finishes the game! :)

LD33 — You are the Monster

SnakeLike by Logan 2015-08-27T17:27:00

Really good execution of your idea. I really enjoyed playing it, it felt like a complete game. It also felt good as a turn based game rather than live action, it made the game way nicer to play.

You are the cosmos by sam1373 2015-08-27T18:46:00

I really enjoyed the game. I couldn't win the game, but it was fun trying out all the options and seeing how long I could last. I felt that things like the meteor strike were not worth their cost as it did so little to stop a base let alone a colonized planet. The AI worked pretty well as well, which made the game all the more enjoyable. So far this is one of my favorite entrys. :)

Damned by Maramasa 2015-08-25T10:12:00

Gorgeous setting and mood. I must admit I enjoyed the mood more than I enjoyed the gameplay. I kept playing because of it though. ;)

Monster Detective by popcorn897 2015-08-27T18:24:00

Managed to get myself stuck in one of the spike traps at the end :/ Allthough overall I really liked the music, it really fit the game very well! I think you could have gotten away with a much shorter but more complete game. I also liked the map it looked nice. As you said, you guys may have been a little to ambitious with your project. :) I enjoyed what was there, the game had a nice atmosphere to it.

It Came from the Rift! by ZNCatlaw 2015-08-27T17:36:00

I really liked the game over screen showing itself upside down, really made me feel more like the monster. I would have loved to see a little more features in the game, but the use of the lasers did feel very polished so that was nice. The graphics fit nicely together as well which was appealing.

Rampaging Monster Mayhem by lurumdurum 2015-08-26T09:20:00

For everyone thinking they are missing some shots, mostly on the laser:

We think there is a bug where hit detection isn't triggered correctly. We hope this doesn't ruin your gameplay too much.

Vampig Rampage by wischutz 2015-08-27T18:28:00

I couldnt get it to run on the web (It wouldnt respond to my keyboard keys, using the chrome browser.), so I downloaded it instead, which also did not work, giving me the error: There should be 'vampig_rampage_0-1-1_Data'
folder next to the executable

Ameba Warfare by kingpirux 2015-08-27T17:42:00

I liked combining my captured monsters, I just wish more would happen with them. The concept itself is very fun as it made me very curious what would happen.

Good Guys Always Win ! by ErelDev 2015-08-27T18:51:00

Quite plain game but the added humorous items really added to its charm.

Monster Farm by Heissayen 2015-08-27T17:19:00

I enjoyed the meteor and seeing grouped up monsters burn, there just isnt that much to do which is a bummer. Would have liked to see more features!

Chomp Chomp Chomp by AngryRebel 2015-08-29T12:04:00

Hey, good first submission! I see we went for a similar approach on the theme. You should check out our submission, maybe it will inspire you in some way :)

Keep it up!

Dark Lord by AlexSet 2015-08-27T18:08:00

Its a little hard to see if you are doing any damage to the enemies. But it was satisfying seeing them collapse into a group of power balls. The graphics look nice, they add a lot to the total atmosphere. It was pretty unclear what to do in the beginning, but after a few minutes I got the hang of it. Though I noticed that running right into the monster with your laser was an easy tactic to make short work of it, which kind of killed the challenge a little. I would have also liked to see some more enemy types. I believe there are only 2 in the game, one being the guys with the blue goggles and the other being the turret. But I believe the turret was only used once in all the rooms, which is a shame! All in all a really nice game.

LD38 — A Small World

Hexworld by Myko 2017-05-01T16:43:47Z

Lovely graphics, satisfying to see the chain of points appear. I would have loved to play against a computer player or something. All in all great entry!

Asteroid, Planet, GODDAMMIT! by DEGLIS 2017-05-02T09:03:30Z

Fun small game! A little bit diehard though. I love the arcade feel to it! Good entry!

Bazooka Freaks by Neato 2017-05-02T08:32:27Z

Very solid entry. Simple yet fun! It felt very rewarding shooting a rocket to the other side of the map using the gravity of the sun!

It's a Small World, So Let's Crash It into Things by simonhutchinson 2017-05-02T08:41:16Z

I like the game. The only downside was the camera moving around so jittery! Other than that solid entry. :)

Space Migrator by jackyjjc 2017-05-01T17:25:03Z

Fun game! I thought it was really cool that the pods tumble down and create a domino like effect, although I wished the camera would zoom out a bit earlier :)

Artee by TankardStudios 2017-05-01T16:33:22Z

Hey guys! Fun little game, congrats on finishing your first game! Just a tip, it would be better to make a build of your game and upload that! I had to open the whole project in Unity to be able to play!

DaPrince by stepp 2017-05-01T16:16:17Z

I really enjoyed the art style and the music. I also enjoyed the gameplay, but as Heinrix said before me it was difficult to aim the plants! I would have loved to choose the direction. I think that's my only problem with the game. Great entry!

Goo Game by koreus7 2017-05-01T16:38:01Z

I really love the mechanics! It felt very rewarding moving the goo around and solving the puzzles. The modifiers/nodes you can place could be a little more intuitive but all in all very fun and rewarding! Nice entry!

Ultra-ninja VS falling zombies by gaspard 2017-05-02T08:13:55Z

My only gripe with it is the requirements to be able to play the game. Other than that, good entry. :)

The World At Your Feet by Geared Games 2017-05-01T16:00:43Z

Solid entry, I really enjoyed the mechanic and the addictiveness. I did have a problem with the shapes and the placement of the objects though. I really think it would have been more awesome if it worked a little better, the shapes do not compliment eachother enough I feel. I tried quite a few times and could not reliably get very high. I really hope you do something about that for the mobile version because I really enjoyed playing it!

Exit.. space left by HomineLudens 2017-05-01T16:51:09Z

Pretty cool game, though it took me a second to understand what I needed to do. The graphics look good :)

Moon Eat Moon by brandann 2017-05-06T17:21:05Z

Nice game! I really liked the mood and the music :) I found it a bit hard to catch the planets when you're small though (using keyboard input).

Bamboo Life by candlesan 2017-05-05T09:34:50Z

Pretty good game! I ended up playing longer than I expected! :)

kumo. by Turbo Hermit 2017-05-01T09:03:24Z

I love the setting. It's very relaxing and it makes me feel very zen. It's a breath of fresh air to feel that way about a jam game.

Cookie-World by Loktor 2017-05-01T17:03:37Z

Nice game! I really loved the sound effects :D

Colorfly by Zelos 2017-05-02T08:57:30Z

Very nice game! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the music and art. Though sometimes I did not understand the significance of planting a tree when I could progress anyway. I think I missed one and was then puzzled as to if it would matter. :O Also at the "end" I got eaten by a butterfly that I had no way of escaping. Was that intentional as an end? :) Great entry, one of the most enjoyable so far!

Depth by CreamyBacon2 2017-05-01T16:25:16Z

I really enjoyed the mechanic of switching between levels with your scroll wheel! Very original. :)

Entropy by SleepyStudios 2017-05-05T09:17:12Z

This was the second game I actually downloaded to play, it just looked too interesting. I enjoyed playing it, for like 5 minutes. The concept is pretty cool, and although it is a gamejam game, it has potential for a bigger game. This is also why it got a bit repetitive after a few minutes.

Overall good entry tho. :)

Universal Journey by mundell 2017-05-02T14:59:30Z

Very complete and polished game. :) I really enjoy it. Also the predicition for the trajectory is very nicely done. Great entry!

Snowglobe by Wati888 2017-05-02T10:25:24Z

Wow, this game was a roller coaster of excitement and realization. First of all, great game! This was the first game I actually downloaded so far, instead of playing web-playable unity games. I think this is a cool and unique type of game, with a lot of potential.

My first thought was to spam knights, because of their health, but after the first boss wave I realized that an army full of knights is worthless. They are too slow to kill the tower before the next wave. So I ended up not getting much lives, while my knights walked between the first boss dome and the new wave. I think this is a nice balance feature.

Good job. :)

Terra by TheShrug 2017-05-02T08:45:18Z

It got annoying having died so many times and having to start over! Besides that I like the intro and the setting. :) Good entry.

Sillyzilla Rampage by Eric Florio 2017-05-02T09:57:46Z

Pretty clever gameplay mechanics! It did take me a second to get used to everything, although I guess you could blame me for not playing the tutorial :). It was fun to play, but after a while it got a bit repetitive. Great entry!

Limited Space by Vidinu 2017-05-02T08:24:49Z

Very interesting approach to combining multiple mechanics :) I just don't understand how/why the time system works the way it does! Good entry.

RC kitchen Throwdown by oxrock 2017-05-02T08:19:02Z

I would have loved to have an option to move my camera around. Driving away from the dog I could not see how far away he still was! :)

Small Planets by Tom Raudys 2017-05-01T15:46:18Z

I really enjoyed the art and the setting, the music and the effects look and feels good. That being said I could not find the upgrades for my ship! Even after shooting multiple alien ships and meteorites, so after a couple of minutes I gave up.

eiland by rubna 2017-05-01T09:32:02Z

Very awesome, I love the interactions between the character and the world. It feels very satisfying picking up and dragging things. The style is also very beautiful, I love the art.
