I really enjoyed the art and the setting, the music and the effects look and feels good. That being said I could not find the upgrades for my ship! Even after shooting multiple alien ships and meteorites, so after a couple of minutes I gave up.

@lurumdurum Ah too bad! If you fly to the other planets you can visit them and find the upgrades. Thanks for playing our game!
Wow, I'm always impressed by what some teams can accomplish in a gamejam! I don't know why, but I thought the diegetic backpack meter on my player's back was really cool :)
I still can't get over how much you accomplished in so little time :O This was a super cool game!

This was super cool! Unfortunately, it kept crashing on my system. Specs are below. I got the ship from the wood-wanting alien and flew off. The art was incredible, the sound was fitting, and the story was great! It took me a while to figure out that the thing on my back was a GUI, but that was a nice touch. Unfortunately, due to the crashes, I can't say too much more. I'll rate the things that I feel I saw enough of :)
Specs as promised: * i7-4510U CPU * 8 GB RAM * Windows 8.1 x64 OS
Also, as a side note, you seemed to have a really well set up site for hosting, but getting redirected to download the game was a little weird. Maybe it's not for everyone, but you can [create direct download links with google drive links](https://www.labnol.org/internet/direct-links-for-google-drive/28356/), if you're interested.
This is very impressive. I didn't have any problems running on my system. Like @lurumdurum I didn't understand how to get the upgrades until I accidentally landed on a planet (with flowers) but I don't know if I actually got the upgrade or not - I couldn't tell any difference when I was back in the ship.
The graphics, animation and sound are all excellent. Like @geared-games said - it's incredible how much you guys achieved in such a small amount of time! Amazing work!
nice game, love the visual style :D it has been said before, but congrats on getting so much done in the time you had!

Very impressive work for a jam game, especially animations and audio. Did you do the music and sfx yourselves? I played until I collected all the stones. After encountering some aliens that threw red balls at me the screen went black except for the UI, was this intended? If it was "game over" some feedback would have been helpful. :) In regards to game design I would recommend trying to do less repetition, punching wood or stones becomes less worthwhile after doing it over and over. Still a fun little game with impressive audio and visuals.

@ekkiiiii We got some bugs where if you sometimes die the game just doesn't restart. Especially if you attack the aliens on the dessert planer. Awfully sorry about that. I guess we learned to scope down a bit and fix some of the important stuff!
Amazing! Very impressive. Even though the resource collecting was all the same, the varied visuals great audio and general mood kept me engaged all the way through. It was pretty funny that "picking" flowers was also just kicking them to bits. Little things like removing the need to backtrack helped too. Low poly style looked great. Even some space flight simulation thrown in there, nice!
@merel
When I saw the files in game, it showed 64-bit files. Will it work in 32-bit?

This is very cinematic for a Ludum Dare game. Very impressive! I loved the planet with the glowing palm trees. Great work!
@morrilet Never heard about that google drive link! super useful. Thanks
Thanks to everyone that left some comments and liked it! really awesome to read.
This looks very cute :-)
This is a very ambitious game for something made in three days. Perhaps a slightly smaller scope and a bit more polish would have gone a long way to making this better. As it is now, it is a very enjoyable experience, though there are some aspects that could be improved.
The controls feel very clunky, I'm not sure having to have the player hold down a button to run is a good idea, as there was no reason not to run so just making that the default movement speed would have helped the flow of the game and reduced development effort in having to create two sets of animation for the player character that could have been spent making the jump animation smoother, the jumping felt incredibly floaty. It was hard to tell where the trigger points were for interaction with the npcs which also didn't help.
The game looks nice, the low poly designs for the worlds was a nice throwback to early 3D platformers, and it was nice to have a lot of variety to explore in the three worlds you made. I enjoyed smashing up the rocks, trees, and flowers, but it took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to do with them once I had collected them all. I had fun flying around shooting the UFOs, it was a shame that there was no response to my actions doing so, and the final boss fight was over in less than five seconds, so that was disappointing.
In conclusion, a really excellent attempt for a weekend's worth of work, you are clearly a very talented team. I would be very interested in seeing what future games you manage to come up with.
As others have said, this was ambitious for a weekend project. It's a really impressive achievement to get it finished and working with all the planets, flying, resource gathering etc.
The gameplay itself was a bit too grindy for me, it wasn't that interesting to punch a lot of trees and rocks. Having said that, I did enjoy landing on the different planets and seeing the landscapes. There were cool crystals and palm trees and giant purple things, the atmosphere was great on the stranger planets.

Graphics are really well done. Gameplay was little too repetitve for me, but on the other hand it is relaxing and allows to explore the worlds easily, soo it fits the game pretty well.
- As per the theme small world most of the games i played was a single earth or one screen game but this was unique and i loved it - The guy walk is so good that i loved it very much - also the dancing animation was awesome - i don't know why but when i shoot the green planet in space the game crashed
Thanks for all the comments.
We always end up over-scoping our gamejam games. =P Next one we will try to focus on really polishing a smaller game. (hopefully)
So sad, I can't play it! I get an error saying: ``` Failed to open descriptor file '../../../SmallPlanets/SmallPlanets.uproject' ``` @ mention me if you fix it and I will come back and play it.
@samusoidal
Are you playing the 64 or 32 bit version?
I tried the builds on multiple PCs and it worked for me :/
Maybe redownload it? Or you can try [this older version.](https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7rmE48F2TyDbUFOeE5VN24zN2s/view?usp=sharing)
@tom-raudys 64 and 32 bit. I'll try the older version when I get the chance. Thanks!
I liked it so much.It has amazing graphics,audio and animations. Please rate my game because my ratings are under 20 plzzzzz!!!! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/monster-island

This is overall a good LD game, and both the music and graphics is super good, and story is simple and fun. The game mechanics is okay, but it mostly the same simple thing, I do on the most of the planets. I would have preferred less worlds and instead had bit more to do on them. But overall this is well done.
Quite an impressive amount of content in this short time. I'm guessing you are using your in-house game engine to get all this in place in such short time. Still, I would probably have enjoyed a more concentrated and focused game. It was sort of a humorous comment to questing with the grab 20 trees (knocking them was a really nice touch), but when grab 5 flowers came around, it sort of spoiled that part. Shooting down some ships was nice, but the message about grabbing upgrades while ship was sluggishly slow and no upgrades visible sort felt like a broken promise. So while I'm really deeply impressed about the amount of content and how nice things were animated, the transitions, effects etcetera, I think it would have helped to have it shorter.

Lovely graphics! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwLATN0OA3Y
