Ha! I love it!
It's funny, while mechanically and aesthetically different than my game, there are definitely parallels going on. It's just fun to grow things...
...Especially cookies.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD38 → Cookie-World

Ha! I love it!
It's funny, while mechanically and aesthetically different than my game, there are definitely parallels going on. It's just fun to grow things...
...Especially cookies.
Protecting the cookie-planet would be more effective if the icing paste could lay eggs. That's how it works, right?
Nice idea, though it doesn't really seem to get any more difficult? Maybe a bit too easy to survive indefinitely.
So now that my cookie covers most of the screen... when do I get to eat it?
I topped out @ 18352, the cookie monsters just overwhelmed me! It's a simple and fun game, no complaints here really. Things work as expected, it's easy to understand and the difficulty scales the longer you survive. These are hallmarks of a solid game and your's has it. It also has cookies and I like cookies, so there's that.
@Iak i like that idea of allowing the icing paste to protect the world a bit more with something like that :D the general idea was to jump on the enemies (which didn't seem really clear since i didn't have enough time to redesign the enemies to clarify it more), yes the Ludum Dare version was a bit too easy, the fixed one should constantly increase difficulty but for the lategame it might have been better to make it more challenging even faster :)
@oxrock nice :D even higher than my highscore so far :D
Very simple game but it is quite fun to jump around to collect cookies and get rid of cookie monsters (especially when my jump just repels him away). The graphics is quite cute but could be a bit more work. Initially the game was quite fun but it gets a bit repetitive after a while. More pickups / powerups / enemy types will make the game more interesting in the future additions. Also I think the score is a bit meaning less at the moment (It is like a timer), I think changing it to be score up only when picking up cookies will make the score more meaningful.
Overall, I had fun with the game, great job on finishing ludum dare! You should be proud :)
@jackyjjc your right was my first time using photoshop to draw something digitally which was quite challenging^^ I plannend on including more but sadly i ran out of time. Yeah the idea with the score was on my bucket list :D to make it more interessting e.q. maybe more challenging quicker :)
Although this game might be a bit too easy (I gave up after 10000 points and let the munchers eat the cookie :'( ), it's super charming and cute. Loved the visuals and the sound effects, which are also hilarious. I'm also a sucker for games with a minimalistic approach to player interaction (for example here you can only move left or right and jump), so overall I had a lot of fun.
Well done, congrats on your first LD!
Good game. I miss a winning condition. I was playing and it wasn't a problem to keep the planet "alive". You did a good job, definitely I love the eating sound.
@palemachine your definitely right the initial compo entry had a bug in it which made it easier than i intented to, thx for the feedback :)
@kalm004 my idea of the game was that it is an score based game, e.q. to try to collect as many points as possible, but yeah the game could use a bit more of an challenge, i tried to fix it in the edit (e.q. the edit was done after the compo finished so i but it into a seperate section) this one should be more challenging :)
This game is quite adorable.
It's a simple premise with some great audio design, and the graphics are quite nice too.
happy cookie/10
LOL I see you set your avatar as the muncher. Good job! I love the idea of cookie (my wife doesn't allow me to eat much because of my blood sugar issue...) And yes I do think this game is not challenging enough, but quite suitable for relaxing and poking around in leisure time. If you could add more elements, such as variety kinds of ingredients, this game can be really cool!
i liked the whole idea behind the gameplay, got 20414 points
Was very easy near the start, but after a minute or so of being almost the size of the screen, when those muncher things started coming down faster and faster, it got a lot more fun,
You should definitely have zoomed out the camera as it got bigger so you can still see what's happening above and below the cookie
gameplay was fun. but as others have said, not that challenging. Controls were smooth but as happens with most ludum dare games, the final product is missing some polish. Overall good job!
Loved the smooth movements and the sound fx! Well done!
Nice game! I really loved the sound effects :D
this game is om nom nom nom! I liked the pysics and the sound effects, but it would be cool if it had an ending or an objective. after the cookie reaches a certain size, there is not much left to do.
@awesomealliterationalliance The game is a bit too easy at the moment, my intention was to make so that a certain point it should get quite challenging/too challenging and the cookie gets eaten :D
@jamesy012 yeah i planned on including that (i actually had a first version in the game), but it wasn't working as i wanted to so i scraped it for now, but great suggestion and nice highscore :)
@wizcas great idea with the different ingredients, those could be used to make the game more challenging :)
@all others thanks for the feedback and the great tips i will try to adapt the difficulty and make it more challenging :)
Simple but solid game. The simplicity and the whole cookie monster thing make it a really good kid's game. Great work!
I like the game, but I quickly reached a point where nothing spawned anymore. I feel like the rate of munchers should be increasing a lot more over time. I didn't feel like there was any danger to lose at all. The graphics are pretty good and the sound effects are funny. It controls smoothly and the idea is cool. I just wish there was more of a challenge, since the game effectively 'stopped' because there are not enough munchers spawning.
@spacedoupt Thx for the feedback, yeah your right that might be the right target group :D
@zelos thank you for the feedback :) did you try the bugfix version (it is a bit further down) the other one had an bug which caused the game to become really easy, because kicked away munchers still counted as active enemies which resulted in too many enemies in the game which prevented new ones to spawn at some point
The bugfixed version works much better. I'd personally say that this is a pretty game-breaking bug, so I'm pretty sure you would be allowed to fix that in the jam version. Others might see this differently, but it prevents the game from working as it should, so as far as I see it you're allowed to fix that.
A cute tower defense game in a small world. Simple mechanism but quite addictive.
Love your sound effects. There wasn't really enough to keep me playing it for that long, but what you have with the art and sound effects was great!
Great sound effects!
HA! what a simple yet engaging game. I got over 34k before I had to stop playing :) its so addicting!
wow I rock at this game :cookie::smile: lol the voice effects! do you think a cookie planet could really exist out in the great beyond? I hope so! It'd be scary if there were a bunch of red cookie monster heads floating around tho... enjoyed this! super easy, had to move on after ~5 mins but my cookie was HUGE and that was somewhat gratifying! well done, congrats!
I got a score of 14,226! This game is lots of fun :) A bit tricky to kill the cookie monsters. Nice sound effects! Would love some appropriate music in here too if you keep working on it. Very entertaining concept  nice work!
Love it! Cute graphics, simple gameplay, the controls work, a really fun game. But the best thing about it are the soundeffects **OM NOM NOM**.
I really dont know what else to say. I really like it. Good job!
Nice. I like the tug-of-war in the game's difficulty. One moment, you could be doing really well, but the moment you get comfortable, the cookie shrinks again. And vice versa. The only thing is I feel the user needs more to do. It maintains interest because the player is constantly reacting to stuff happening, but the controls get kind of repetitive without something new to do every so often. Maybe some kind of special attack? Mini-bosses? I don't know.
Thx for the comments guys :)
@anthony-juarez yeah your right a bit more enemy types/different kind of challenges would be fun :) great idea with the special attacks/mini bosses, will consider these things when i release an update for it :)
