LD38 — A Small World

Toy Run by TimBeaudet 2017-05-02T16:18:00Z

I like it - especially the graphics are great. The music is also pretty good, and the sound effects are very cute. Good work on that.

The gameplay is a bit more problematic, since I feel like the controls are a bit unresponsive at times. For example when I jump, then crash down and immediately want to jump again, it doesn't let me. But it somehow feels like it should. Also I find it a bit unclear how high and how long I'll jump at what speeds, but that might just be me. I didn't have any other problems though, so it's all good. Overall I think it's a very good entry and I do really like it.

Troll Castle by berkano 2017-05-01T11:28:03Z

I thought it looked pretty weird, but it was actually a bit of fun.

The tutorial text on the first screen is a bit much to read at once, but I guess you just didn't have the time for a proper tutorial level. It's somewhat confusing at first, despite having read the tutorial, but in the end it works pretty well and the paint-y artstyle is something I actually like.

Humanity Simulator by RabbitTortoise 2017-05-01T17:22:07Z

I like the idea, but the gameplay is a bit clunky. The turning around the corner part is weird because of the camera, but I can forgive that.

I basically just stood still and drove in circles once I could build a factory. And then I repeated that until I could build better stuff. It took a pretty long time though, and nothing much happened in between. The graphics are okay, but I feel like everything needed a bit more impact. Everything you do feels like 'am I supposed to be doing this?', if you know what I mean. It's not quite sure what you should be doing.

Other than that I think the game is pretty good.

Day 862 by zenmumbler 2017-05-01T17:40:31Z

The textures really look pretty nice. Especially the metal ones look very... moist.

Your Planet: Too Big by Scriptorum 2017-05-01T21:30:49Z

What a fun game. I actually love this type of game, and your spin on it is really creative.

I wish there was some kind of atmospheric music playing in the background. The gameplay is very good and I enjoyed playing this a lot. The puzzles themselves have a nice difficulty curve and I never felt like it was unfair. Sometimes the circles wouldn't quite fall like I expected, but I think that was mainly my fault. Really nice game!

A View from Above by OfficialCodeNMore 2017-05-01T21:52:18Z

I have to admit the idea is pretty cool, and it gave me a really good idea for a game I now want to make myself. The graphics are okay and I like the voiceover. The text seems to have a small bug where it sometimes is pretty blurry and sometimes very sharp. Not sure what's causing that. Overall I enjoyed it and got scared a bit by the end because the sound was much louder than the rest of the audio. It ended a bit too soon, but it's a game jam, so who cares. Nice work!

SmallHexWorld by japes 2017-05-01T21:44:35Z

I really like this. Reminds me a lot of how a board game would play out and I do enjoy those. The mechanics are really well thought out and it's fun to think of ways to make your hexes better. I feel like it should end once all the spaces are filled, but the way you implemented it works as well. Could use a bit of a better presentation regarding graphics and audio, but it works. Got up to 6531. There's obviously a 'best solution', but I feel like you can't really control that without knowing what the next tile will be. I think your 'next tile' slot should be renamed to 'current tile' and there should actually be a display for the one that comes after.

Myrddin by cogcomp 2017-05-03T20:16:15Z

There are a lot of things I like about your game, although I couldn't really get into it in the end. I also only played the first level because I just couldn't get past the boss (I know, I suck). **Graphics**: Really good for a Compo game. It reminds me of those old PC games that came on Shareware disks. I loved playing them as a kid. Pretty impressive you made all of this in 48h. I wouldn't really want a final game to look like this, but for a game jam it's good. **Audio**: The song is really weird and I don't think it fits at all. It's not really bad, but I don't think it should be in this kind of game. The SFX lack impact, but they are okay. **Gameplay**: Okay, so you lost me here for a few reasons. The game feels very stiff and slow. It's not really satisfying to hit anything - more often I felt like I wasn't even hitting anything. Is it correct that I have to go back two steps, turn around and hit something, go back two steps, hit something, repeat? It felt pretty weird. The boss just obliterated me. I didn't really get close and he just killed me with his bullets. Overall I couldn't quite get into this, but I liked it. Especially since you didn't use one of the 'easy' engines.

MagiSEED by Vivoubos 2017-05-01T21:14:45Z

I feared the worst at the starting screen, but it turned out you made a surprisingly good game.

The levels were built really well and I enjoyed the shrinking mechanic. Wish there was a bit more of that though.

The graphics aren't that attractive, but they do the job. The music in my opinion is pretty annoying to be honest. The gameplay makes up for that though. Really nice variety in mechanics. I could imagine those working really well in a game with some proper artwork and music. The idea is really good.

o, the game by pta2002 2017-05-02T16:43:23Z

I actually love these types of games for game jams. Really easy to understand, easy to play, and overall a lot of fun for a few minutes. The graphics are exactly right for this kind of game and the sound effects work pretty well. I especially like how the explosion feels when you lose. I think this is the first game without music where I'd say that it actually doesn't need one, because it works well without. The gameplay is really fun and the idea is very cool. It's a bit weird to control for QWERTZ keyboards since Z is jump, but since you can temporarily switch to US layout it's not that much of a problem. I got up to 96 and then I got killed by my own bullets. I feel that the best way to get a high score is to shoot them in a steady rhythm, so you can jump over them effortlessly while hitting enemies all around the big circle.

I don't really have anything negative to say other than the thing about the keyboard layout. The game's really good.

Blackhole Escape INC by teekeks 2017-05-01T10:52:10Z

I remember this game from the IRC as being so laggy that I couldn't play it. Great that you sorted that out - worked flawlessly now.

I have to agree with @xangotrick about the Interface. My eyes wandered over the whole screen a bit too much when trying to craft something, because it's very cluttered and clunky. I also didn't really know what to do and thought that the things I could craft weren't that self-explanatory as they could've been.

Audio is a bit repetitive, but I like how everything fits together graphically and I do like the atmosphere.

Little Remains by nilead 2017-05-01T16:51:40Z

The graphics are absolutely fantastic. I would absolutely love a full game that looks like this. The music is also very atmospheric and goes perfectly with the graphics. I had a bit of trouble locating the interactables in the environment, but the gameplay itself is quite good. Really nice entry.

Chill Bill by drtizzle 2017-05-01T11:14:57Z

Really, really awesome artwork. Gameplay is fun as well and the idea of slashing people because the world is too small... that's a really interesting take on the whole theme.

I didn't encounter any problems with the game, so really great work on this one.

Antagonistic : Hamburger Hill by ryte2byte 2017-05-01T19:48:55Z

Since we both made a game about insects (and you don't believe me I made Colorfly as my first game in 48h ) I thought I'd review yours as well.

For starters I really like the idea. The graphics are also really good and I like the song. Reminds me of Spyro for some reason.

The gameplay is cool as well. I've noticed two things though that didn't quite work for me:

1) I think the right wing is really distracting. It feels like something's flashing in front of my eyes the whole time. Maybe it needs a bit more transparency.

2) I really couldn't tell where I was aiming, so I didn't really hit much. I got up to 52%, but I'm not sure if that would've also happened if I didn't try to shoot at the enemies. Also when turning something felt a little bit off at times. It quickly got back to normal, but for a second it felt like I was moving in the wrong direction. Other than that I liked it. The tutorial was also quite good at explaining the game. I've played quite a few games today that I didn't even understand, so this was refreshing. Good work overall! P.S.: I wish the messaging feature worked, because I would've liked to talk to you a bit more about our games. You're welcome to download my source code of course. You can kind of see my progression by looking at the modification date of the files if you're interested.

I'd kill for a gym membership by cptalbertwesker 2017-05-01T19:10:50Z

Are full gyms even a thing? Pretty funny, although I'm not sure if I played it correctly. I just set the things on fire at the bottom and then clicked on all the doors constantly. Is there something else to click?

Also - can you win? I got up to 56 stopped, but then I had only 16 when I called again for some reason, and then the game ended.

I like the idea though.

Binary Glitch by JOrbits 2017-05-01T21:20:34Z

After playing this I'm seeing some weird colors flashing in front of my eyes. Pretty trippy. I really like the gameplay here. The graphics look good as well, although I feel quite a bit disoriented after playing. Might be just me though. The music is also good and there's just enough here to have quite a bit of fun for a few minutes. Good work!

Space Cakes by ChrisAntem 2017-05-02T11:59:25Z

You entered the wrong bracket. You entered the Compo, but this is obviously a Jam game. **Graphics:** I really like the graphics. Looks very clean and well-drawn. Nothing to criticize here. I especially like the title screen artwork. **Audio:** The SFX are okay I guess, but the lack of music hurts the game quite a bit. Not much else to say. **Gameplay:** I like the idea, and it's fun for a while. It starts to lose me when you get to level 4, because the level design just isn't that much fun. I liked the jumping from land to land, but then it starts throwing in these gigantic danger zones and it feels really clunky getting around them. I really think the gameplay itself is quite good, but the level design needs a bit of work. I expected it to go in a different direction, but in the end it's still fun and not bad at all. Overall I think this is a solid entry. Well done.

The Czar, the Demons and the delicious Midnight Snack by Dagegen 2017-05-03T20:55:35Z

I like the game itself, and I really appreciate the effort you put into the graphics. You even made a small intro, which is very cool. The gameplay itself is very simple, but I could enjoy it. I didn't get the 'Danger!' zone at first, because I thought that was just an indicator that something's coming up, and not an indicator for where exactly it's coming, but the rest was very clear and easy to understand. The song is really annoying. Like, really annoying. To a point where I had to turn down the volume. It's a bit unfortunate, but what can you do. Overall I really like your game. Good work.

Super Collapse Guy by crazi456 2017-05-01T17:36:59Z

Really awesome idea. The mechanic reminds me of Monument Valley a lot, and seeing as your game is in 3D this is pretty impressive for a game jam. The graphics are cool and the audio is as well. Very solid entry, I like it very much.

Great work.

War by gilborn 2017-05-04T16:42:28Z

Probably the most disgusting game I've played so far. I love it. I didn't manage to finish the game, because I suck, but a big thumbs up for the idea. The graphics are also really nice and the audio isn't bad at all.

I found it a bit too hard and didn't think the gameplay was that fun, but the rest more than makes up for it. Really cool little game.

Live or DIE! by jondalnas 2017-05-02T10:46:29Z

I feel like you got a really good game here, but I'm a bit confused by the interface. **Graphics:** Work really well for this type of game. No complaints here. **Audio:** Well, there isn't any. Might want to opt out here. **Gameplay:** For me personally the instructions where not enough to pick up and play your game. I've been trying assigning areas and jobs, but I'm really not sure what anything does and what I should be focussing on. I actually took way longer than I'd like to admit to understand that the bigger labels 'house', 'trees', 'vheet' (did you mean wheat?) are just categories and not clickable buttons. They look just like the buttons, which is pretty confusing. So I clicked around for a while and my characters did some stuff, but I didn't get what the goal was or what the individual things did exactly. I think you just need a better tutorial or descriptions for the individual actions. Overall I still think you got a good game here. Nice work!

Advanced Mitosis by Endurion 2017-05-01T20:58:33Z

The music is weird. I love it.

I think you're moving a bit too slow. Or rather - the levels are a bit too big. You're moving around a long time without anything happening, which makes it less engaging. The puzzle design themselves are really good though. I had a problem in the first level with the giant red blob that a lot of pellets spawned right next to him, so I couldn't get them, but otherwise it seemed very fair. Overall nice little game. Good job!

THE HUNT by Xangotrick 2017-05-01T11:22:52Z

The artstyle is very interesting, although a bit disorienting. It's pretty hard to make out openings because the inside of those shafts is the same as the area surrounding it. I like it for innovation though.

The song I've heard is cool. But I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing. I crouched out of the first room, saw a thing fly over me, got the gun and then I'm stuck in the next room where you get the wrench. The thing that says 'get 4 ammo' does nothing for me and I can't see any way out of there. So that's unfortunately as far as I could get in your game. I think I may be missing something here, so I'll hold off on the rating for now.

World Battles by Thinkofname 2017-05-01T21:35:59Z

I like the basic idea and the graphics look pretty clean, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong. My guns don't really hit the enemies and I'm not sure what the correlation is between the placement of the guns, the clicking of the mouse and the aiming. It seems that they're just firing in random directions and I can't hit the enemies. I would really like the idea if it worked a bit better though. It reminds me very much of Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime with the placement of the guns and all.

Bug Attack! by Gurbx 2017-05-01T10:59:13Z

Really reminds me of those old Shareware games I used to play all the time.

Graphics are pretty good for what you're trying to do and it's really fun. The audio isn't that great and I turned down the volume a bit because I didn't like the sound effects that much.

The gameplay is pretty basic, but I had fun, so good job.

Harry Inks Shrinks by Oxlander 2017-05-04T16:37:18Z

I really like the idea, so it's very unfortunate that you couldn't finish this. Nonetheless I think it's pretty cool. **Graphics**: I actually like them. The perspective and the player's animations are really off at times, but the houses in the desert for example look really nice.

**Audio**: I'm sorry, but the song is really, really annoying. Would've preferred no music over this to be honest, but whatever. At least you tried having some song, which many didn't even do.

**Gameplay**: Well, there's not that much here, but I like the idea of shrinking and growing bigger. A few random thoughts: - It's really hard to tell what you can interact with - The size switch was really confusing and I didn't understand what was going on at first - Not really clear what you're supposed to do at all Anyways, it was a pretty good effort. Nice work.

Cookie-World by Loktor 2017-05-01T21:25:19Z

I like the game, but I quickly reached a point where nothing spawned anymore. I feel like the rate of munchers should be increasing a lot more over time. I didn't feel like there was any danger to lose at all. The graphics are pretty good and the sound effects are funny. It controls smoothly and the idea is cool. I just wish there was more of a challenge, since the game effectively 'stopped' because there are not enough munchers spawning.

Cookie-World by Loktor 2017-05-01T22:21:57Z

The bugfixed version works much better. I'd personally say that this is a pretty game-breaking bug, so I'm pretty sure you would be allowed to fix that in the jam version. Others might see this differently, but it prevents the game from working as it should, so as far as I see it you're allowed to fix that.

Little bug by Altron 2017-05-01T17:02:46Z

The intro text was way too dark for me as well - could barely make out the instructions.

I really like the idea and the gameplay itself. I'm missing some music, but what can you do. The game did a really good job of introducing the mechanics and is pretty engaging.

Two things I've noticed:

1) After completing a stage I have to use the mouse to start the next level. Would've liked to continue by just pressing Space.

2) I'd like to continue moving forward after using the light if I'm still holding the button. It felt pretty weird that I had to re-press the movement key every time I pressed Space.

Colorfly by Zelos 2017-05-01T16:38:09Z

Thank you all for the feedback. Really happy to see you're liking the music, since I'm mainly a composer and put a lot of time into it.

@iak The rotating wing is actually a bug. I used Spriter Pro for the first time and this is how it came out and I couldn't fix it in time, so I just left it in. I think it looks pretty funny though. The one tree thing was intentional, so you don't have to finish everything to move on. I wanted to have a different ending based on the trees you got, but you know - no time. So it just says how many you got. :)

@christian-koch That's actually a pretty severe bug. I could reproduce it and made a bandaid-fix by adding bigger box colliders around the screen. Thank you for letting me know!

@Gurbx, @Tommyflower You kind of touched a point with the SFX I'm not too satisfied with, but just didn't have the time to change. I already spent 8 hours or so on the audio part of the game and really needed to get on with programming, so I just left it like this. Would definitely be the first thing I'd change though if I still had time. Music and SFX just didn't mix as well together as I hoped.

Colorfly by Zelos 2017-05-01T20:22:20Z

I'm pretty overwhelmed by the positive feedback. Thank you!

@wildmusketeer I'm actually not satisfied with the sidescrolling sections as well. I had the butterfly going faster at first, but it was way too easy. So I sped up the camera, but then it would end way too soon, and I wanted the song to play out. So I ultimately just decided on making the butterfly a bit slower. It's not perfect, but at least it goes well with the 'relaxing experience' theme I was going for. @JayTord The end is inevitable, yes. I planned for a level between the last one and the outro that wrapped up the story, but I just didn't have any time left. So it does seem a bit abrupt now unfortunately. @zenmumbler Well, with the amount of music I have in here I didn't have much time to mix it properly and use the right instruments, but I appreciate your feedback! I haven't released anything else yet, but I have a Kickstarter campaign for a Megaman-like music album coming in the next few weeks. I'll tweet about it at @SoundOfMes if you're interested.

4 Hours by Christian Koch 2017-05-01T11:11:05Z

The idea is really nice and I like the atmosphere it's creating. Those tron-like levels look exactly like the game 'Black Ice', and I do like that, so overall good job on the visuals and audio.

The puzzles are really nice, although I'm not sure how it all fits the theme. I had some problems with the crosshair being too dark (black on grey is pretty hard to see), but since you could affect all blocks at once that wasn't that big of a problem most of the time.

I think the jumping needed a bit more momentum to be honest - you just fall down vertically once you let go of the button, which was a bit weird at first. But other than that I really like this entry.

Leucos by Harry Alissavakis 2017-05-02T09:41:50Z

Pretty cool game! I think the artstyle is really good and the player is controlling very smoothly. It's fun to play and you did a really good job with the game. A few things I noticed: 1) I had phases where next to nothing spawned and I just ran around aimlessly. Then something spawned on the other end of the map and I got hit constantly until I could get there. That felt pretty unfair. 2) The SFX are a bit too loud and the music is a bit annoying after a while. 3) The 'Wave' text is flashing so quickly that you can easily miss it if you blink. Other than that I really like your game.

Penguin Deliveries by Nomaki 2017-05-01T22:03:05Z

Hey there, I'm the guy from Reddit who you just thanked for the advice on the canvas . I played your game again and I stil really like it. The graphics are probably the best part for me since the gameplay is a bit fiddly. I can never manage to hit the landing area on my first try and always fly around for a few seconds until I can. It looks really polished overall and the only negative thing I have to say is that I wish I had some more control over the ship. Like slow down more effectively or something like that. Otherwise - really good work!

Asteroid Terrarium: A Recipe in 22 Steps (PROTOTYPE) by Alex Mulkerrin 2017-05-02T12:10:01Z

It's a cute prototype, although you really seemed to replicate the other game you linked, it still has its own charme.

I feel like there's too much empty space on the screen and that the art is too small. Maybe center it all a bit more, so it doesn't feel so cramped.

The New Kid by Saurabh 2017-05-01T11:52:16Z

I like the idea, but I feel like you don't really look at your stats and the stats of the friends too much rather than just click around if the chance to befriend them is >50%, which makes it a bit too simplistic.

The song is pretty cool and the graphics serve their purpose well. Nice work.

Spermicorn by Fanu 2017-05-01T16:56:10Z

The graphics and audio are awesome. The gameplay wasn't that engaging for me, but you get bonus points for the funny idea and the pun in the title.

Oh, and llamas. Definitely llamas.

A Growing Adventure by frankiesmileshow 2017-05-02T09:52:05Z

A lot of good things about this game. Really solid entry.

The art is awesome. Looks very polished and high-quality. Could very well just be a fully released game. Music is unfortunately missing, but the SFX are okay. Now the idea is really cool and I had a lot of fun. Every feels quite good and I only found a few minor things I didn't like that much. - I'm not sure what the point of the timer is when uncovering new tiles, since you can just stand still and wait. - It felt weird that I couldn't just run into enemies and hold the button down to attack. I had to push it over and over, which was a bit clunky. - It takes a lot of time until you progress. I feel like this is partly due to the 'temporary attack bonus' mechanic. This is the on thing I really disliked about the game. It felt really bad to lose your hard-earned attack points. Would've rather had the game balanced around a permanent bonus system. That's actually everything I can say here. Awesome work.

Floppy McFloppyface by Mars 2017-05-01T21:03:30Z

Very funny game, I enjoyed it a lot. At first I was really annoyed by the music, but then it kind of grew on me. Same with the graphics. Thought the same as @chaseplays, but I was so wrong. This is a really cool game and I especially liked the flopping on the tree. So weird. Really nice work!

Libre by DiegoCTorguet 2017-05-03T20:29:29Z

I enjoyed the game overall, but as others have said the puzzle mechanic got annoying really fast. **Graphics**: They work. The video thing was really neat and I haven't seen that before in any other entry, so a big plus for that. **Audio**: Actually really good. The song created a really strange and creepy atmosphere and I liked it a lot. **Gameplay**: I understand the idea, but it's just not fun to play. Actually I found myself not using the zoom feature at all, because it was annoying and took too much time. I just randomly swapped pieces and pressed the start button, so I could see where I was going. Went much faster and worked flawlessly until the very end. I also found it weird that there's no feedback for swapping tiles. At first I thought nothing happened, but then I realized that they indeed swapped. Overall pretty good entry. The "hidden pipes" mechanic needs some work, but other than that I liked it.

Headspace by fueelin 2017-05-04T20:43:14Z

Really strange game and I don't think I 'got it', but I can appreciate it nonetheless. So the **graphics** are nice, although the blurry background looked more like low resolution instead of... well, being 'blurry', as I think you intended. They work fine though and I like the animation of the main character. The **audio** is really interesting. Gives the game a surreal atmosphere that I really enjoyed. The sound effects clashed a bit with the music, but they were okay.

The **gameplay** is a bit simple, but that's obviously not what the game is about. Im actually not sure what it is about after playing. I read the comments and that gave me a bit more insight, but the game itself is a bit too 'out there' for me to get anything out of the story. Overall a very interesting concept. Nice job.

Project Alpha by TMW 2017-05-01T17:14:02Z

I'm a bit confused by the game to be honest. Also there wasn't anyone else online, so I can't say how the multiplayer works. Did you use some random images from Google for those menu screens? The artwork seems really out of place.

I found it really hard to understand what's going on and what I should be doing. Also I'm not sure how it fits the theme. You said you already worked on this before... so it doesn't have anything to do with the Ludum Dare?

I really don't know what half of the interface does. The game needs a good tutorial desperately. I'm basically just randomly clicking stuff and hope that's what I need to do. So I think the interface definitely needs some work. Oh, and you should probably use a different font. It all looks very Unity-like.

Cell Defender by Kreur 2017-05-01T17:33:45Z

At first I thought I played as an egg and commanded my egg-buddies to roll around randomly, which was pretty funny.

It's a pretty neat idea, but it's definitely a bit confusing at first. I played multiple times and lost pretty quickly each time, but then I got it.

I think the game needed more of an 'objective' to be fun for more than a couple minutes, but I like it anyway. Good work.

Bound by LittleRain 2017-05-01T11:58:52Z

I couldn't get the WebGL build to work because it takes too much memory (and I do have a pretty good PC), but I downloaded the Windows version and that worked. The download was really big through.

The graphics look really good and the music is nice as well. The movement and camera switching feels a bit weird at first, but once you get the hang of it I can see why you made it control this way. My clicks didn't register sometimes and I'm not sure why, but I guess it's a combination of the move-to-click and the camera angles.

I like that you included difficulty levels. I haven't tried all of them, but it's great that they are there. Good work overall.

Exhaust of Earth by Lipsch 2017-05-03T20:02:26Z

Pretty cool game. I was caught off-guard by the aliens attacking when I was still reading the instructions, but I just restarted, so not much of a problem. As others have said I found it very hard to keep up with the game. The aliens just kept coming from everywhere and I couldn't do enough to repel them. I like the visuals and the idea is good. It obviously just needs a bit of balancing and a better way to see where aliens are coming from. I found that the perspective made it hard to get an overview of the entire planet. You might also want to look into the Canvas Scaler component of the Unity Canvas, since you pretty much have to use full screen to make the game playable.

Overall I like it though. Good job.

Every Man's Sky by blaster391 2017-05-01T11:48:56Z

You get one gigantic like from me for the pun. And another one for the awesome idea. I agree that there's some kind of skybox missing, which makes it pretty hard to navigate. Should be a lot clearer if there were just some kind of white stars or something in the background.

I'll definitely come back to this later so see how it turned out. Awesome work!

The Glass Marble Tour by icecheetah 2017-05-01T20:46:10Z

I wish it was a bit longer. I wanted to see where it was going, but then it was over before I knew it. I really liked it though. I don't mind 'walking simulators' (I didn't even know 2D ones existed until now), so I'm rating purely on the story and presentation. While the story was pretty good, the presentation needs a bit of work. It looked a bit too 'MSPainty' for my tastes, but it was servicable. Good work overall!

SORLD by Fiery Squirrel 2017-05-03T21:01:57Z

Great idea. Really enjoyed playing this.

**Graphics**: Nothing to say here. They look very nice and clean and I didn't find anything to criticize really. **Audio**: The song is cool and the SFX are fitting as well. Again, nothing bad to say. Maybe sometimes there are a bit too many SFX playing at once, which gets annoying, but it's really not that bad. **Gameplay**: Really fun. As others have said it lacks some kind of score system. The controls have been a slight problem for me, since I use a QWERTZ keyboard. So Y and Z are swapped and I had to temporarily change to US layout to play the game comfortably. Really solid entry overall. Good work.

AstroGunner by KabalaTrance 2017-05-01T11:04:54Z

I really like the atmosphere the audio the nebula in the background are creating together. The perspective is also pretty interesting.

Now the gameplay is where you lost me a bit. I think the way the ship handles is very confusing. It's alright when you're on the 'upper half' of the planet, but when you're upside-down it's so confusing that I ran into enemies multiple times because I felt like I had no control.

Also sometimes enemies spawned inside me. That was weird, but I guess you just didn't have time to change that.

I like it overall though. Good work.

Empathy Swap by Buck Supergoose 2017-05-02T10:20:58Z

I couldn't get someone else to play with me, so I'll just critique the parts I've seen so far. **Graphics**: These are pretty good and make it clear what's going on. The effect when swapping looks really cool. The planets in the background (or are they supposed to be stars?) could be a tad darker though. While it's not a problem to make out foreground from background, it could be a bit clearer. I personally would've turned down the size of some of the particle effects, since the blurry nature of Unity's standard particle effect clashes a bit with your vector graphics. **Audio**: Actually really solid. The music is good and the sound effects are as well. I like the voiceover when Empathy Swap occurs. **Gameplay**: Not going to say that much because I just controlled one of the planets. The controls feel really weird and I would've preferred to have two pairs of buttons next to each other instead of WASD. WASD just feels like it should be movement only to me. Something like AD GH would've worked better I think. The mechanics seem really fun, but I'm not sure how to strategize the swapping thing without having someone to play with. But I like the idea, so this made a positive impression on me. I really feel like you can abuse it by just not building much though, which makes the game stand still if I understand the whole mechanic correctly. Overall it seems like a really good entry. Good work!

By the way: You should probably just start with the 'two players on one keyboard' from the beginning next time. If I hadn't seen V1.1 I would've just moved on to the next game, since most people will probably not have a gamepad attached to the PC when judging LD games. And I certainly didn't.

Den by La mecanique du plastique 2017-05-01T22:07:06Z

This is really amazing. The graphics are extremely well done, the sound design is fantastic and the idea is cool as well. No idea what was going on and I'm not sure if the controls were just weird or if I was doing something wrong, but I think I got the hang of it after a while. I think they could use some work though. Overall this is an amazing job for a game jam. Really awesome work.

World of My Own by kantieno 2017-05-02T10:03:53Z

Great game, I really enjoyed playing it. It's surprisingly deep for a game jam. **Graphics:** While serviceable I felt like everything was a bit too static. Hitting enemies didn't really feel like hitting enemies and moving felt like moving around a paperweight. The trees are a good example of how the rest of the game should feel. They respond to being hit quite well and give you a lot of feedback. **Audio:** The music gets a bit annoying after a while and the sound effects are quite bad honestly. A lot of them feel like they're missing (for example when you enter a world there's just silence). The worst part for me is that the shooting sound is really off. Would make the game a lot more enjoyable if these were better. **Gameplay:** For this you earn full points from me. There's actually a good amount of content in here and it didn't get boring at all. Your systems are thought out well enough, and while I think you should definitely display damage numbers, since you can't really see any difference when you buy new weapons, the overall gameplay worked very well. Really good job. Would love to see this get worked on past the jam.

A Small World by KRP 2017-05-02T10:34:06Z

I couldn't get very far because I didn't really know what to do, but I'll say something about what I've seen so far. **Graphics**: It looks quite good aesthetically, but I didn't know what anything was. That made it very hard to decide what to do without instructions of some kind. The character looks quite funny and I liked him a lot. **Audio**: I guess the music is pretty good and the sound effects work. Not much to say here. **Gameplay**: So, this is where you lost me a bit. I moved around for a while (which feels way too sloppy by the way), jumped around (which also felt very sloppy) and didn't know what to do. I clicked on some parts and dragged them around, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with them. I didn't find anything to right-click on either. So this is basically as far as I got. I feel like I'm missing something here, but I think you just need better instructions for your game.

SmallExplorer by Horbatog 2017-05-02T12:28:26Z

It's pretty funny to drop turds everywhere. There doesn't seem to be that much gameplay here, but it looks pretty good.

The controls take a bit of getting used to with the picking up. I'm not sure what the goal is and if you can die. I walked around for a bit, urinated and defecated and ate some things, but didn't find anything else so far. It hurts the game a bit that there's no sound, since you're going for creating some kind of atmosphere. Pretty good entry overall though. Good work.

A tiny explorer in a tiny world by Kwisarts 2017-05-01T17:27:53Z

I'm not really going to critique this as a game, but I had fun for a few minutes just reading the random stuff the character was saying. I do like the artstyle and your type of humor a lot. Not really disappointed, because you made that a part of the 'game' so to speak. Nice work!

SMOL by Jyrka 2017-05-02T12:20:35Z

You didn't include the source code. You might want to add that.

I'm not sure how to critique this, because it feels like the assets were made by different people. It just doesn't seem to fit together very well. I'll just assume you did everything by yourself. The character looks extremely detailed and the music is pretty well produced. The rest of the game feels completely disconnected from these two things though. The environment looks very bland in contrast. The gameplay itself is very weird. The controls are floaty and very hectic and it's hard to tell where you land after a jump. I also don't know how to get up the tree, because the controls are really, really hard to get used to. This game obviously needs a lot of refinement, but it's a good effort overall.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Pipe Trek by quill18 2017-08-01T17:12:35Z

I'm not much into the gameplay nor Star Trek to be honest, but I appreciate the creativity you bring to the 'pipe minigame' genre, if that's a thing.

The graphics are great obviously, except for the text that's rotated by 90%. I had a really hard time remembering what bar stands for what, because you can't see everything at one glance without turning your head.

The sound is serviceable. Not much to say here.

I found the game to be pretty challenging, but still fun to play. I lost pretty quickly every time I played, but as I said - I really don't care much for this genre and I probably suck at it.

Overall great game though. Awesome job.

Run To Coal! by smdeveloper 2017-08-04T01:47:37Z

Pretty good game.

The graphics are very nice and fit together perfectly. I think the music is a bit annoying and I didn't really want to listen to it on repeat the entire time.

The gameplay is simple and would be pretty fun, but I think I really suck at this game. I constantly get stuck everywhere. I go to get the coal, try to unload it and fall through the floor. And when I don't I still only make like 2 trips before I lose. I think this really needs to be a bit easier.

Overall I like the idea a lot though. Good work.

Ads will tell our Story for us by Nicso 2017-08-02T14:18:28Z

The graphics are fantastic and it doesn't really look like a compo entry to be honest. The soundtrack is also very good. It's a bit too loud for the SFX, but it's not too bad.

The gameplay is a bit clunky, but it works. I feel like the energy is running out a bit too quickly. The idea with the ads is interesting and something that could be expanded on. I'm sure you wanted to make more out of that, but didn't have any time, but I appreciate the concept very much.

Other than that I don't have much else to say. Really solid entry, good work.

Escape from Power by Petzi 2017-07-31T17:45:35Z

I didn't have any of the problems the other two people had before me. The game runs fine and the controls worked. The download didn't start on Firefox for some reason, but Chrome worked. Might want to consider uploading somewhere else, like itch.io.

I don't have a second player with me, so I played alone. Unfortunately my keyboard is not QWERTY but QWERTZ, which made the jumping really awkward. The idea is really cool and it also works quite well single-player.

You didn't opt out of Audio, but I couldn't hear a sound, so I'm not going to comment on that.

The graphics are pretty good and convey what you're trying to do. I'm surprised you managed to get the collision boxes to be that accurate in the short amount of time. I expected to hit something because the perspective was weird at first.

Overall I like the concept and as you said - you didn't nail it exactly, but it's definitely not bad.

Apocalypse by Manafest 2017-08-02T11:34:54Z

Very nice idea and good graphics.

I found the gameplay to be pretty innovative, although I feel like the game is a bit frustrating to play because of one single reason: the enemies attacking diagonally.

The way your 'pathfinding' works they will always try to stay at diagonal range and attack immediately once you get into their attack radius. That means that at the beginning, when you're trying to Cone of Flame the guys, you'll often get hit and they keep moving in ways that makes it impossible to use your spell on them. Later this is not much of a problem, but it really turned me off at first, because I like to conserve as much energy as possible. And I was trying to not spam my strongest attacks.

Once you get the other spells the game is quite fun. But I think you should just be able to attack diagonally with that spell as well, to make the beginning better.

I also got a bug where I zapped myself and then stayed like that forever and randomly lost energy all the time. That was weird.

Overall very good entry though. Great job.

Power Crisis by Gulyasarni66 2017-08-02T21:41:43Z

I liked the game quite a bit.

The graphics are very nice. The only thing I didn't like was the perspective the background creates. Normally things in the background are smaller than in the foreground, so I thought the platforms in the background were just different colored blocks at first. It seems very weird in places and I got confused a few times.

The music is pretty cool and the SFX are fitting. The gameplay is basic, but it works. Doesn't feel that smooth, but is also far from being clunky. The worst thing I can say is probably that the hitboxes feel off and need a bit of tweaking.

Overall cool game. Good work.

Doom of the Civilization by Psilon 2017-08-02T16:16:25Z

Looks like you had a pretty good idea for a clicker game, but in the state it's in right now unfortunately it's not really a game, but more proof of concept.

It's a good effort for the fews hours you put in, but obviously needs a lot more features to work properly. Hope you're better now.

Pro Cycling Simulator 91 by baylej 2017-08-04T14:50:07Z

This is weird. It seems I always win, no matter what I do. The graphics are pretty good and the music is funny. The lane changes should be a bit smoother though.

Don't have much else to say. It's a fun little game, so good work.

Battery Block: Bypass by PietPtr 2017-08-02T11:53:24Z

Is there really no better way to play this? I can't just install python and pygame on this machine. It should be compilable, shouldn't it?

Player in the Dark by loyance 2017-07-31T17:54:43Z

I really like this one. The graphics are very good, the music is very fitting and the gameplay is enjoyable.

The sound effects are a bit too load and you really shouldn't have put jumping on shift, since it turns on sticky keys after hitting it five times. Also I'm not sure if I can use fullscreen mode, which would definitely be a plus. But other than that I can't say anything bad about this.

So the timers feel pretty tightly tuned and it's very enjoyable to try and reach the next one. Normally I don't like 'not seeing much around you' mechanics, but here it works, since memorization of the path to the next lamppost is part of the game.

You're definitely getting high votes from me for the mood as well.

This is an awesome entry overall. Great work.

âš¡ Swing Bolt âš¡ by AJ Weeks 2017-08-02T11:22:25Z

Feels pretty weird to play, but it's a lot of fun.

The graphics are good and the music and SFX are as well. No complaints here.

The gameplay needs some getting used to. I felt like I had no control whatsoever when I began playing, but then I think I got the hang of it. Collecting batteries feels pretty good, but what annoyed me was that you cannot do anything about the blue enemies. They are just there to be in your way and after a while way too many of them are on the board at the same time.

Overall it's a pretty fun use of the physics system and really good.

My Kingdom for a Rabbit! by incobalt 2017-08-02T00:15:52Z

I really like the angle you took with this. I chose the wrong heir in the end and since it took a pretty long time to get through, I'll comment on this one playthrough

The graphics were good and the music is nice as well. Not much else to say here.

The gameplay is really interesting. It feels like an interactive fairy tale and puzzle game in one. I'm not sure if there's an optimal way to play, but it has been fun trying to figure out what's going on.

Overall I really liked it. Good work.

Cats Can Do That by crazyrems 2017-08-02T21:49:34Z

This is hilarious. Probably the funniest game I've played so far. The sound effects are awesome. The meow is so stupid that it's funny.

The gameplay is pretty simple and I don't know how long I want to play it, because I've played my fair share of 'cookie' games already (the correct term would be 'clicker' or 'idle' by the way). It takes forever to get to the second cat. I don't know how long it takes to get to the last one but it'll probably be a while.

The graphics are pretty cool. The sketched artwork works pretty well for this type of game. And the way the cats spin is funny.

I've had a few bugs though. For example when I bought a lot of toast at once the cat just stopped spinning randomly and it said 'rusk remaining: 30'. And when I bought another one I was at 1 again. I also accidentally bought a second cat for the first generator because I thought the cat was 'depleted', and not the toast.

Overall I really like this one though. Good job.

Power Hamstro: A Hamster Point and Click Adventure by defectivemelon 2017-08-01T02:12:36Z

The unfortunate thing with implementing something like pathfinding for a game jam is that it takes a lot of time away from creating content. I think you should've just used WASD movement to be honest. The pathfinding does work, but it doesn't add much besides being proof of concept.

What you got so far looks pretty good. The Nintendo Switch text is pretty funny. And... yeah, there's not much else to say unfortunately.

Props to you for streaming the whole thing though. That's definitely a plus from my point of view.

0|0|0|0 by infinitycore 2017-08-03T01:24:26Z

Very good game.

I love the artstyle, looks very polished. The isometric camera is weird at first, but I got used to it. It plays very smoothly and the music is very nice.

I don't know why but I found it weird that the reticule doesn't move when I do. I always thought it would move with me, so I could keep shooting while running to aim elsewhere instead of moving the mouse at the same time.

Overall I really liked the game. Good work.

Faade by Ace17 2017-08-02T00:26:55Z

That visual effect is top-notch. Really awesome.

So the graphics are pretty simple, but the shader or whatever you used makes more than up for it. Maybe it's a bit too much, because at 50% it's already getting hard to play. The main problem are the hitboxes though. They are really off and I often got stuck for no reason. On Level 2 at the top right for example it's really hard to not get stuck.

The music seems overly loud and ear-grating. I had to turn it off after a while because it got really obnoxious to be honest.

The gameplay is a bit simplistic and I've seen this exact idea in quite a few jam entries already, but I guess that's the theme's fault. It's fun nonetheless.

Overall cool concept. Good work.

Unadexus by smbe19 2017-07-31T17:39:04Z

This seems pretty complex for a Compo game. So let's see... The graphics are really nice. Don't have anything bad to say about it, other than that the UI might be a bit on the smaller side.

I am really unsure what to do to be honest. I've read the description, but I still randomly get 'all your dudes are dead' and I don't even know why. There's a lot of stuff to build and I'm not sure what everything is doing and what I should be keeping track of.

This game seems like it's really cool, but it definitely needs a tutorial or something. I'm so confused on what to do.

That being said - I think you did a really good job and I think it might be just me when I say I didn't quite understand the game. And you hit the theme perfectly of course.

THE RISING OF THE MACHINES by GreepyBrainsDev 2017-08-03T22:33:25Z

The graphics are pretty good and the voiceover is funny. The music got a bit on my nerves after a while and the SFX could be a bit less annoying as well.

I enjoyed the gameplay very much. It's simple and easy, but it's also fun. I didn't find the power limitation too punishing. Shooting feels good because of the screenshake and the controls are very smooth.

Overall really nice entry. Good job. And the intro was a really nice touch. Too many games just start right in the middle.

Expectations by thebmxeur 2017-08-02T21:26:07Z

I'd really love for someone to post in the comments what the hell I'm supposed to do. I've been trying to figure it out for 5 minutes, but I don't know what's happening. I don't even know if the figuring out is part of the game or if it's just missing the instructions.

I like the little animations you did and I applaud you for trying something very different. I just wish I knew what to do.

Defend Home: Mars by sgt3v 2017-08-01T21:23:11Z

Awesome graphics for a compo entry. The music is also not bad at all. The SFX on the other hand aren't very good and get annoying a bit too quickly. I had quite a bit of fun with the game itself though.

The shooting itself felt pretty good, although I felt like the ants needed some sort of indicator I hit them. A red flash or something would be enough. My shots didn't have any impact.

I'm pretty impressed you did a FPS for the compo though. And a working one at that. Good work.

By the way - are you sure you already decreased the mouse sensitivity? Felt waaaay to high.

Spacy adventure by egordorichev 2017-08-01T16:56:34Z

Fantastic graphics, great animations and awesome gameplay. Really one of the best ones I've played so far.

The only thing missing is really some background music. Other than that I can't say anything bad about it. It's very challenging (in a good way), controls nicely and is plain fun. Really awesome work.

By the way - thank you for putting the shop on Z and C. I've been having some problems with other games because of my QWERTZ layout.

Static Shoes by drkr 2017-08-01T10:51:15Z

The idea is cool, but I didn't think the gameplay felt very good to be honest.

The controls are too slippery, the hitboxes seemed a bit off and I wasn't really sure what I needed to do to be honest. Once I got the hang of it it worked, but still felt clunky. The puzzle design was great though.

Not going to say much about the graphics. They work, but seem more like proof of concept.

Overall it really needed a bit more tweaking, but the idea is cool. Good work anyway.

Fast Refuel by harusame 2017-08-03T12:42:18Z

Really fun game.

The graphics are very good and look pretty polished. The music is good as well and the SFX fit.

The gameplay is very fun and it's a cool idea to switch between ships to support the other. I found it a bit weird that the two hunters are basically the same. I only ever played Hunter 1 and switched to the Supply ship. I feel like there should be three different roles for the ships.

The shooting and supplying part was awesome. I would've loved for the second ship to give buffs to the other ones. Like upgraded attack or an absorbing shield. They could be on a 10 second cooldown or something, so you always have to switch and choose what to buff for the situation at hand.

Other than that I had a lot of fun. Great work.

Zombies 'n Kebabs by alaah 2017-08-02T11:50:02Z

The graphics are great and the music isn't bad at all. The gameplay feels very unfair though and I didn't quite 'get it'.

The energy cost for everything feels way too steep. The controls, especially for jumping, are not that precise, so I had the problem that I jumped up and basically wasted my energy. You said it's intended, but I say it's contradicting the energy mechanic. Because jumping up does exactly nothing except lock you in place and waste your energy.

The enemies spawned right inside of me multiple times, and there was no way I could've avoided them. And that was really annoying. They need to either not damage the player for a second longer after coming out of the ground or just don't spawn so close to me.

I appreciate that you tried to make it like GnG though. And I'm really not into My Little Pony, so that was a huge turn-off for me as well, but I guess different people have different tastes.

Overall pretty good, but it just needs a bit more polish. Good job.

The Lunar Invasion by MCjammydodger 2017-08-01T10:23:47Z

I really liked your entry. My criticism is pretty much the same as the other poster's.

The game is very fun and pretty creative. The graphics work pretty well as programmer's art. The music isn't too annoying, but after a while I turned it off, because it gets a bit monotonous.

The gameplay was pretty cool, and I agree that the sensitivity is really off. Fortunately my mouse can change that on the fly, but if you're doing a first person view you might want to at least include a slider for adjusting that.

It's a cool game overall. Good work.

Power Rush by Mik3 2017-08-01T11:11:13Z

The graphics are really, really good for a compo entry. I also liked that your UI is on your drill. Gave it quite a bit of immersion.

The tutorial text is a bit too much for a LD game, and I'm sure most people will just scroll down to the controls.

You should've hidden the Windows mouse cursor, because I kept exiting the game window and could barely play the game with my two monitor setup. I kept clicking on the second monitor by accident which minimized the game.

I also think it's really unclear what the crystals even are. That needs to be much more obvious.

Other than that I really liked this. A bit of atmospheric background music would've been cool, but I felt immersed anyway.

Run, Robot, Run: The search for power by SnipZ 2017-08-03T01:29:00Z

Not bad, but I feel like it's a bit clunky.

The way the camera moves is really distracting. Sometimes you don't even know where you are anymore because it's so sudden and at seemingly random times. The constant tapping to move also pretty annoying because of the level design. I don't mind turn-based games, but the levels are far too big and open with nothing in them for this to work.

The levels also look very similar. I didn't even know if I progressed or the level restarted sometimes.

Overall it's a good attempt, but needs a lot more polish. Good on you for finishing it though.

Tower of Power by DaragonGames 2017-08-02T00:31:33Z

Is it called Tower of Power or Power of Tower? You can't seem to make up your mind.

So the graphics look like the usual programmer art and the sounds get a bit annoying after a while. The gameplay is fun enough though. It's a pretty normal tower defense game, so I don't have that much to say.

It needs a bit of polish, but it's not bad for a jam entry.

Flying Aces - Going the distance! by jotson 2017-08-01T21:40:24Z

The graphics are absolutely amazing. The title screen looks like a fully released finished product. The ingame graphics are great as well. Very well done.

The sound effects work pretty well. I like how natural the engine sound feels. A bit of music would've gone a long way though.

The gameplay is very smooth and it's unfortunate that you didn't have time to add more obstacles or something. It's really fun to play, but after a while it gets boring and I never came close to running out of gas.

Really good foundation for a full game. Great job.

Hive Attack! by Runuchok 2017-08-01T10:36:53Z

I really liked this one. SFX are okay, but obviously not the focus of the game. The art though is especially good and animations are very smooth. Well done.

The gameplay is simple, but I had fun. I felt like the reloading area has a bit of an unfortunate placement. It felt weird going into the corner like that and pulling it out. There needed to be a bit more space to the right, so you could just go around and push. It's very finnicky like this.

I feel like the beginning part of the game isn't very balanced. I tried multiple times but could never get to the cannons quickly enough before the first bees came. I think the game should start with a pre-loaded cart to fix this.

Other than that I don't have anything bad to say. Great work.

Demonic Powers by gilborn 2017-08-02T21:35:37Z

This is very, very weird.

The graphics are very good. Almost look like Hotline Miami's, and that's saying something for a compo entry. The soundtrack is also very cool.

The gameplay is very fun, although I feel there needs to be some kind of feedback for attacking the Bishops. I never knew if I was hitting them, if they were dodging me or if they were blocking my attacks. It's also weird that your seemingly most powerful move that costs energy does nothing against at least 50% of the enemies.

'Shame' is without question the funniest part about the game. I don't know why, but the idea of priests chanting 'shame' to kill the devil is so weird. And it working is even weirder.

Overall this is really good. Great work.

Flower by skippuku 2017-07-31T20:08:15Z

I wish it was a bit longer. You had me invested because of the atmosphere created by the artstyle and music, but then it just ended.

The best part was the house interior. It had the best music track and the dialogue text looked cool. The other parts had some weird compositions and sounded a bit ouf of sync, but it worked.

The artstyle is interesting, because this is what I think of when I think of a game jam. But nearly nobody does something like this. So good for you on that one.

The gameplay is very simple, but it was fine. As I said - I wished it was longer.

Overall really cool. Nice work.

Blackout by 100th_Coin 2017-08-02T16:20:50Z

The graphics are amazing and the music is very good as well. The tutorial page reminded me of those old DOS games, which I liked. SFX were definitely missing though.

The gameplay itself was a bit too fast-paced for my taste. I felt like I had to rush through everything and it all moved so fast that I got a bit dizzy. I loved how the soundtrack adjusted though, very nice touch.

Overall I enjoyed it, but I wish it was a bit slower. Great work though.

enge spin by tommie96 2017-07-31T17:47:52Z

Doesn't work for me. My screen just turns black and I can hear sound, but I don't see anything.

Down to the last Percents by Garazbolg2 2017-08-02T14:12:34Z

Great idea. I actually like the monster design as it is right now. I nearly jumped the first time one appeared.

The graphics are really good and the atmosphere is awesome. The gameplay feels pretty clunky though. The player doesn't feel very smooth to control, the jump is extremely heavy and the mapping is weird. Down to hide and down to come out of hiding for example. Or using the mouse for the phone.

There's also a few bugs like pressing a button multiple times on the intro screen will make the fading go awry.

Overall I did like it a lot. A bit more polish regarding the controls and you'll have something very good here.

LD39 - Runner Clone by LogFlames 2017-07-31T18:01:52Z

The graphics are pretty good, although you should've used a different font. The Unity default one is blurry as hell. In the mini-games I didn't know what was going on at first, because it looked weird, but I quickly got the hang of it.

Let's not talk about the music. That high note that keeps playing constantly is really, really annoying.

For the gameplay I really think you did a great job. The idea with the two games in one is really cool and works very well. The controls in the mini-games feel a bit clunky, but I can forgive that. I also feel like there's not enough 'danger'. I'm just running to get to the next slot machine, but on the way there's nothing that will really give you trouble.

So yeah, awesome work overall. Really nice.

Breaking Down by Jose Souza 2017-08-04T15:02:38Z

Very good entry.

The graphics are great. Really enjoyed the Gameboy-like artstyle. The music is very good as well. The SFX are maybe a bit too loud, but not too bad. I liked the mood you created - very calming.

The gameplay is good as well, but feels a bit floaty. The jumps you have to make don't really seem like you should be making them. I never knew if I was jumping off at the right moment. It's not really clear.

Overall I really liked it though. Great job.

solar avenue by wareification 2017-08-02T00:20:34Z

Very cool artstyle. The gameplay reminded me of F-Zero, although I have to agree that the camera could be a bit higher.

The car feels pretty smooth, but the boundaries are not 100% clear. I didn't quite understand where I was going at first because the perspective was weird. Also when I tried driving close to the inner lane I got stuck on seemingly nothing pretty often.

It's really cool though that you tried something different here and it works pretty well other than that. Good work.

Charged Up by reecer9714 2017-07-31T17:24:45Z

The graphics look pretty Paint-y, but they work fine. The dogs are actually looking good though and are well animated.

I like the concept of the combined health/ammo-system, but I feel like there are just too few enemies spawning. A lot of the time I was running around without anything happening. And then something spawned on the other side of the map and I couldn't get to the middle quickly enough. Overall pretty nice entry.

Power Chase by Thinkofname 2017-08-01T10:57:14Z

I agree that the WebGL version is terrible. It runs at a bad framerate and the controls are unresponsive. Windows version didn't have that problem.

The graphics are pretty good and the audio is okay. The gameplay is very challenging, but as others have said, is tarnished by getting stuck at invisible blocks and the jump button randomly not working. If that was fixed it would be very fun though.

Overall it's a nice game. Good work.

Powerwatch by Gurbx 2017-08-02T20:46:43Z

To say that the graphics are good would be the understatement of the year. This is the best looking game out of everything I've played so far. It looks like it has been pixeled by someone who's been doing that for a pretty long time. Surprised this is a compo entry.

The SFX may be from bxfr, but they fit very nicely. It's unfortunate there is no music. Would've really pushed this to a new level.

The gameplay is simple, but very fun because of the great graphics and smooth animations. Shooting feels amazing and your hits have so much impact. I love it. You didn't hit the theme with the most originality, but it's in there, so I won't complain.

I really had a lot of fun with this and it just goes to show how a nice presentation can make a huge difference - even for game jams. Really awesome work.

The Defective One by gagapete 2017-08-02T21:05:45Z

The artstyle is really cool, big plus for that. You also hit the theme on the head. The SFX are a bit annoying to be honest, but since you opted out of that it doesn't really matter.

The gameplay is pretty innovative. As others have said it's a bit of a downer that you're moving so slowly. This could be a very challenging 10-Second-Ninja-like game where you have to complete mini puzzles before running out of energy instead of time. The way it is right now it's a bit boring to move around after a while.

I'd also like to see the range at which I can extract and some visual indication that I'm doing it. I thought my Space Bar was broken at first.

Overall really solid entry though. I enjoyed it a log. Great work.

The Last Light by Loktor 2017-08-01T21:11:08Z

Since you commented on Gradient Descent, I decided to try out your game as well.

I enjoyed it a lot, really nice experience. Got to 164s and died to the second Uber Wave. I don't think it changes much after that, so I'll comment on the game until then.

You know I like Lighting and Particle Effects, so that's a plus. Looks great here as well. The the rest of the graphics is also very clear.

I appreciate the home-made SFX. Would've been even better with some atmospheric background music though. Nonethless it's pretty clear what those sounds are supposed to be.

The gameplay is simple, but pretty fun. I found it a bit weird at first that the blue ghosts needed to reach an invisible line but the red ones just go through. Was confusing to estimate which ones to shoot first, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. I also liked the small intro part.

Overall really fun game. By the way - I answered to your comment on my game. It's unfortunate that the message system is still not working. Just so you know I read and really appreciated it.

Gradient Descent by Zelos 2017-08-01T01:25:36Z

Thank you for all the great feedback. I'll answer a few of your questions.

@vodzik Just take a look at statistics.php and WWWManager.cs in the _Scripts folder. It's all in there. @filippy The click sound sucks, I know. It was the first thing I made and I didn't come around to changing it before the deadline. I know how to compose music, but I don't know much about sound design unfortunately.

Regarding the final choice and its meaning: The thing is - I didn't think of a specific interpretation about anything in this game. It's about your choices and how you perceive the things you experience. The final choice is intentionally ambiguous.

Gradient Descent by Zelos 2017-08-01T20:59:59Z

@loktor I was wondering what someone said that played both games. Thank you for the feedback.

I actually have a lot of ideas for more interesting gameplay, but it would've cost a lot of time. That's the unfortunate thing with spending so much on music and graphics - it doesn't leave much for coding the gameplay. So I chose to keep it extremely simple again and focus on the presentation.

Gradient Descent by Zelos 2017-08-23T12:48:16Z

I'm very excited to have won the audio category, so thank you for all the votes and your great feedback!

@Yetman Pretty sure that many of the voters just didn't complete the game. The data is only sent when you reach the actual results screen.

Restless Legs by Bugsby Bearkeley 2017-07-31T19:49:32Z

I see you put most of your time into the artwork. It's very funny and I wish there was a bit more to the game itself.

The concept is not bad and I did like it. I just feel like the collision boxes have a bit of an unfortunate placement. Because of the hectic movement of the legs I could never tell when the last moment to hit Space was. Sometimes I even got hit by the pillar when I felt like I was still a good few feet away.

I tried it a few times and only got to 0.23 something. Please don't tell me I should be getting to > 1. Then I must really suck.

It's not bad nonetheless. Just needed a bit more polish.

I'm Not Your President by wisstopher 2017-08-03T22:26:19Z

The graphics are really good for a compo entry. The music is pretty cool as well.

The gameplay is pretty simple, but enjoyable. The camera is very weird when you're changing rooms sideways with the way it zooms in, but other than that the camera angles work very well. The level design is also good. The 'puzzles' (if you can call them that) are very simplistic and seem to be there just to.. well, be there for the sake of it. But it gives the game a nice flow.

I'm not sure if it's a bug but there were multiple times when doors that should obviously be red were green, and of course they didn't open.

Overall great entry. Good work.

LD39 Compo: Trindle Armored Defense by vkmicro 2017-08-01T01:56:32Z

This was pretty fun. The graphics are okay and the sound is serviceable, but the gameplay itself is good. I felt like the game needed a bit more feedback on what's happening. I'm just rolling around hoping to survive somehow.

Maybe it's just me but I think the smaller tank is overpowered. I don't know why I should use the other one. The enemies' goal is to reach the base, so if my firing rate is reduced by that much I can barely keep up. The extra HP seems to be useless as it's very easy to evade everything.

Another thing I've noticed is that the shooting seems to be delayed. I don't know if this was intentional but it's really weird and messes up my timing. The second I shoot something I usually start moving towards something else. So when the shot comes out half a second later it's pretty confusing.

Other than that I don't have much else so say. Overall I liked the game. Good work.

Lantern by Kaban 2017-08-01T21:18:13Z

Really, really nice graphics and atmosphere.

The gameplay is extremely simple and there's not much to do here, but I don't think it needs that. I got to 103 on my second attempt and think I'll come back later to try and get a higher one.

The sound design is okay I guess. I mean - it's just a clicking sound and background noise.

Overall I did enjoy it. Good work.

N.R.G. - Nice Robot Game by StefanRial 2017-08-02T14:31:12Z

Pretty good game, although I wish the controls were a bit more polished.

It fits the theme well, has nice graphics (although it's a bit dark - maybe want to increase the lighting range) and the music is good.

The gameplay feels a bit clunky and the hit detection isn't the best. But for your first game it's really not that bad.

Good work.

President of Zorga by gimbalock 2017-08-04T13:18:34Z

I really like the idea. Unfortunately I think it's a bit confusing and I wasn't really sure if I was playing it correctly.

The graphics aren't bad, but the UI is far too small. I understand that it might not've been easy to scale up, but I had to go really close to the screen to read anything. It also seems very 'Windowsy', if that's a word. Standard textboxes, font and so on. I didn't quite like that.

The gameplay is fun, I think. As I said, I'm not sure if I'm playing correctly. It's also a bit hectic, but some people might like that. Don't have much else to say.

The music is pretty good. The main melody sound gets a bit annoying after a while, but the composition isn't bad.

Overall I did enjoy your game. Good work.

SAP by Mikronaut 2017-08-01T02:03:56Z

I'm having trouble activating fullscreen (pressed ALT + Return and got black screen), so I played with that tiny, tiny window. I also didn't get that far, because when it said 'Space to Shoot' it just didn't work. So I didn't get past one of the enemies.

The graphics are okay and the gameplay is fine from what I've seen so far. Without shooting it's a bit bare-bones of course. I really did like the song though.

A few bugs I noticed: - The energy meter seems buggy. It's jumping around and it feels weird to have a square for something like a meter. - When you enter and re-enter screens mutliple times the BGM keeps stacking. - You can see some debug text at the top left corner of the first screen.

Alien Swarm by oxrock 2017-08-02T14:26:32Z

Pretty solid game.

It's always cool when someone tries to do a FPS for compo, and I understand that it's not that easy to do, but the controls are really a bit weird. There really needs to be an aiming reticule, as I never understood where I was even aiming. You say that that's not how shotguns work. Well, there are also no Alien Swarms attacking us yet, so in the future there may be. And it's a game anyway, so don't try to be realistic, but make it fun instead. It already does feel like a rifle to be honest and I didn't even get that it's supposed to be a shotgun.

The graphics are pretty nice and the SFX are okay. Other than the reticule there's not much I don't like about the game. Except for the missing music maybe. It's pretty challenging after the first few enemies, which I did like.

The theme is also incorporated pretty well. So overall very nice job.

Outside by Tamfoolery 2017-08-03T12:55:08Z

Fantastic compo entry.

So the graphics are obviously amazing. It looks just like Inside, and I can't believe you did this in just two days. First thing I did was look at your setup of the Post-Processing stack. I didn't use it until now, but I sure will from now on.

The sound design is great as well. Definitely gets across the mood.

The gameplay I didn't love. The puzzle design is amazingly good. It was very fun figuring out what button to push next, but the controls really got in the way of that. I got stuck at corners multiple times. Mainly because of the tank on my back. That led to me not being able to push the block, or me just falling off somewhere without any way to get back up.

I feel like it shouldn't happen that the block can just fall off the cliff. Or if it does just restart the level. I didn't get it at first and pushed it off and wandered around.

It's also weird that you have to push the block more than half it's width off the platforms. I thought it would fall off, but it didn't. And I even needed to do that.

Other than that it was really great though. Awesome work.

Power Insufficient by theoddpotion 2017-07-31T19:18:20Z

I really like the concept, and the 3D-effect is really cool. It's unfortunate though that you didn't dim the background. This is really disorienting to play and I actually got dizzy a bit.

The voice-work is great. It seems you went for a Starcraft/Warcraft-approach and it's pretty funny. Missing some kind of background music though. The gameplay is nice, but the UI is really small. I also found it hard to click on the planets sometimes. You might want to give them bigger colliders, so you don't have to click exactly on them.

Ultimately I couldn't play this for a long time though because of the background. I think I still see the pattern before my eyes. You really need to tone that down. It might give someone senstive a headache.

It's a cool game nonetheless.

Sight Jumper by DHL 2017-08-05T02:01:23Z

The idea is cool, but it's not really that fun right now.

As someone already said you have no idea how your character is like. How far can he jump? How fast is he? I never knew where I was and couldn't get past the screen with the two big jumps. I didn't even know when I fell down a hole and only noticed when I was already dead.

I think you really need some kind of mechanic where you can see yourself for a second. It's very weird and not that fun right now.

The idea is very cool indeed, it needs more polish though.

TrappedWithAI9000 by werlar 2017-08-01T10:09:40Z

Pretty basic game, but I had a bit of fun.

The graphics are servicable and it's clear what I'm looking at. Looks like programmer art alright. The SFX seem really loud and annoying when played in rapid succession, like with the mounted machine guns and I'm really missing some music.

The gameplay is simple and I have not much to say about it. It works pretty well, and I especially like that you took the time to make tutorials for everything. I've seen a few games that didn't explain anything, so that's a plus.

I've noticed there are a lot of typos. You might want to proofread next time. I could still understand what you mean, but it was a bit distracting.

Overall pretty good.

Bounty by Gurvan 2017-07-31T17:31:04Z

Really not bad at all. I like the graphics a lot and the gameplay is cool. I'll just list a few things I've noticed in a random order: - There are a lot of seems in the sprites. Did you turn off Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Textures in the Quality settings? - The ship is turning waaaay to quickly. I suspect this has something to do with the framerate, as I don't think you meant it to be that fast. Maybe you forgot to multiply the rotation by Time.deltaTime or something. - The fonts are pretty bad to be honest. There's also a few grammatical errors in your texts, but it's really not that bad. - The gameplay itself is really cool. Not sure if this fits the theme very well, but the idea is good and it was fun for a few minutes.

Great job overall!

Power Struggle by skyr 2017-07-31T19:26:34Z

Fun little game. I love board games and the mechanics are pretty cool. I had to keep the instructions open at all times though because I kept forgetting what the individual units did. You might want to consider adding a short version of the description in the game.

The graphics are simple, but they work. Audio is... well, it's dice rolling. So not much to say there.

The gameplay is not bad, but I feel like it has too much of a 'solve this equation' problem. There is often a 'best' solution, so there's not really much to decide. I think the effects need a bit of work to make the game less 'mathy'.

Overall it's a cool game though. Good work.

Sea Life by Laien Pathfinder 2017-08-01T01:50:41Z

I really liked this. The controls feel a bit finnicky because of the small hitboxes and its environmental message feels like it invades the game a bit too much. I seem to inevitably die when I eat a single piece of plastic, which is pretty easy to accidentally do. Other than that I don't have many negative things to say. The graphics are really nice, the song is pretty good and the gameplay feels like Ecco. I especially liked that you can jump out of the water. Really nice touch.

Good work overall.

Fading Points by SMILEY_4_ 2017-08-02T21:55:53Z

Very cool idea.

The graphics are simple, but look very polished. The gameplay is fun, but the button placement is very weird. Why do I have to switch between Space and Enter for starting and switching the level? That's really annoying.

The puzzle design isn't bad at all. Was pretty challenging and I think this could be made into a full game.

What's missing is a bit more visual feedback. Like going into the goal should at least spawn some particle effects or something, so I know I reached the goal.

Overall I enjoyed it though.

D34TH by Falk Bruskeland 2017-08-01T17:02:55Z

I liked the game and had fun, but I needed to switch my keyboard to US layout, because playing with X and Z instead of Y felt really weird.

The graphics are quite good and the controls are very smooth. I didn't like the jump arc that much and wished there was some way to manipulate the character's falling speed while in the air, but it worked and made the game more challenging.

This is one of those games that I wish had some background music, because just hearing the jumping and shooting sound all the time gets a bit monotonous.

Overall very solid entry. Great work.

COCO ROBOT by ThePoulpator 2017-08-04T16:31:51Z

I'm so confused.

- What's up with the description? Critique of cosumption society that tries to denounce politicians? Uhm... - The intro feels like an acid trip. Very weird voices and movement. I like it though. - I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I can't go anywhere and when I touch anything I lose health. I think. Is that the critique of society part - that you can't win? I'm really confused. What's the goal?

I like the main character and the music isn't too bad. I just don't know what I'm doing, so I can't say much about the gameplay.

Flappy Jet by Henry Sneed 2017-08-04T19:33:50Z

I've played this for about 5 minutes and really liked the idea, but ultimately I didn't want to continue because of a few flaws: - The SFX are annoying and too loud. Especially the ones when you start. - The hitboxes are waaaaay off. Flappy Bird works so well because the gameplay is very tight and you don't die because you hit an invisible wall. - Some obstacles were too hard to get through because of the hitboxes. - Couldn't tell if the hitbox of your character changed when holding down space. The sprite looks like you're getting smaller, but I'm still just dying to invisible walls.

This would be really great if you could just make the hitboxes a bit smaller. Developers usually make them smaller than the sprites themselves, to give the player a bit more leeway. That's definitely what this game needs. The graphics are pretty good and the music isn't too bad as well. It's just unfortunate that the gameplay isn't that tight. Otherwise I'd even recommend you to overhaul the graphics a bit and put it on the appstore. Because the idea is really cool.

MICROSCOPIC by XedithDev 2017-07-31T17:17:31Z

I really like the art style. Very simple, but effective. The UI is a bit small on my 1920x1080 screen, but it's not too bad.

The audio is also quite nice. Fits in very well with the rest of the game.

I've played for a few minutes and I think there's nothing else happening, so I'll just comment on what I've seen. I'm not sure if the game gets harder after a while, but I never came close to dying or running out of energy. By spawning more enemies you're actually making the game easier, because there are more energy cells available.

There also seems to be a bug where two enemies just randomly die when they get close to each other. I could run around in circles and enemies would just keep dying without me doing anything.

Ultimately I feel like the game needs some kind of goal other than 'survive', because there's not much progression. But since you only worked on it for 16 hours, not a big deal. Good job overall.

White bubble by Thuvareyn 2017-08-02T11:27:43Z

Great artwork and nice idea, but a bit confusing to play at first. I didn't know what was going on and the environment gave me very little feedback. You said to click on stuff, but that mostly led to my character standing in front of the object without interacting. So I didn't really know what I was doing.

After a while I think I got it. I didn't escape though and died in my few attempts. Not sure what I'd need to do to win.

I think the game works pretty well without instructions, but needs a bit more visual feedback. Overall pretty fun experience.

ElectriClick by Cornelia Xaos 2017-08-01T11:33:44Z

I usually like clicker games, and this one is not bad at all. Not going to mention the balancing issues, since someone said that already.

I've played to 100 years, but I still don't know what the 'Charge' thing is supposed to do. What exactly am I choosing with that price? I like the idea of cranking up generators though. That's something that I wish more clicker games would use, instead of constant clicking. It's unfortunate that it happens to get like that with enough generators though.

The graphics are okay, but the UI needs a bit of work. There's not enough space on the screen and I wish I didn't need to scroll so much.

Other than that I really liked it. Good job.

Marvin's Message by ryluu 2017-08-03T22:39:42Z

I had to switch browsers because Flash didn't work on Firefox, but Chrome seemed okay with it. Not sure what's that about.

Didn't care too much for it at the beginning, because it's very slow, but it got better after a while. The graphics are very good (especially the background) and the controls feel pretty good as well. There's maybe a bit too much gravity involved. I feel like I can barely stand a chance against the velocity when falling, but when jumping into the air I accelerate like crazy.

Overall nice little game. Good work.

daemon by bombjack 2017-08-04T19:52:38Z

Very good entry overall.

The graphics are really good. I enjoyed the artstyle and the animations a lot. You need to disable anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering in the Quality settings though, because you got a lot of graphical glitches that seem like they come from there.

The music isn't too bad as well. The SFX could be a lot better though. Especially the jumping sound kind of ruins the mood and is far too loud.

The gameplay is okay, but it feels really finnicky. I couldn't grab hold off the ledges many times and the attacking feels weird with the strange delay. It seems to be challenging, but I couldn't tell if it was the game itself or the controls that got me.

Overall awesome entry though. Great work.

Wrong Slumber by ick 2017-08-01T02:19:37Z

God, this looks weird. I love it. 10/10 for originality - haven't seen something like this yet.

So the gameplay itself is pretty simple, but fun. The controls feel a little unresponsive since I'm used to higher aiming speeds, but it's not that bad. The graphics are really cool, but the sound effects lack impact. They feel like a small clicking noise when they should be a 'woosh', if you know what I mean.

By the way - I played on Windows and everything worked fine. You might want to make a WebGL build for Mac or Linux users.

The Power of Nature by razveck 2017-08-02T12:06:05Z

This is a really fun game. The graphics are good and the mechanics are really cool. I only had a few issues with it: - The red guys seem useless. You're trying to make all of the fields dark anyway, so I don't get why I should waste so much power on them when I can spawn three yellow ones instead. The just kept running around across the entire field and often got killed off. - The Power bar is waaaaay too big. It takes up like 1/5 of the screen. - There's no audio, might want to opt out. - Game loads pretty long and my computer fans start acting up. The more units I build the worse it becomes. I couldn't finish the game because after a while the fps got down to about 2 with so many units on screen. - Devils just ignore enemies. I don't know why, but the enemies were walking right through my devils and they didn't care. - You said it's challenging, but I found it extremely easy. I just spawned yellow units for the first few minutes and got a really steady income. Then I made a few devils, because I had enough power to make two every second. And then I spammed yellow ones until the game lagged out.

So, the concept is fine, but it really needs a lot more polish. For a compo entry it's really good though. Great job.

Scale of Life by ilya_kozlov 2017-08-04T19:41:56Z

Amazing graphics, great music and SFX and very fun and simple gameplay. Definitely one of my favorites.

The only thing I didn't like was that it basically didn't match the theme at all. But I could see me playing this on my phone waiting for the bus trying to get a high score. Great job.

Proto472 by uzyfeo 2017-08-02T00:36:46Z

This is a pretty fun game.

The graphics are surprisingly good for them being 'programmer's art' like you said. The music is also pretty good. That one song in the game with the high pitches chiptune sounds gets really annoying though. It's not the composition, but the sounds themselves. They are just not pleasing to the ears.

The gameplay is kind of challenging, and I'm not sure if I suck but I never got very far in my few attempts. I didn't find it hard to dodge stuff, but jumping over anything was very hard because I could not estimate the point where I needed to jump.

Overall it was quite fun to play though. Good work.

Automated Explorer by Aircraft Terrier 2017-07-31T20:01:03Z

One of the best ones I've played so far.

The gameplay is just amazing. It plays like a polished final product to be honest. The theme works perfectly and the amount of variety and content is great. This is also the first chiptune-music I've heard so far that doesn't get annoying after a few seconds.

There's a lot to love about this one. I actually enjoyed exploring and seeing where I could go with my upgrades enough to finish the game. So that's awesome. The graphics are very reminiscent of older Gameboy games, and I have a lot of nostalgia for that.

Really great work.

Batteries Low by GhostRunners25 2017-08-03T13:02:15Z

Pretty okay entry. I'll just throw in some random thoughts: - Graphics are servicable. I was confused as hell when the level select opened up, but I got it after a few seconds. - The music is terrible, sorry. It gets annoying very quickly and I had to turn it off. It sounds like a bunch of random noises and it's a bit ear-grating. - I found it extremely hard to get the boxes in to the holes. So hard in fact that I needed about 30 seconds for the first one. - The idea isn't bad, but it definitely needs a bit more fleshing out. Maybe also fit it to the theme a bit more. I'm not sure about the relevance of a battery pushing boxes around.

As I said, it's okay, but it needs a lot more polish. Good work for finishing it though!

Mega Awesome Super Cool Battery Game by Fork0 2017-07-31T19:40:21Z

I like the game, but I found it to be really hard and I suck at this genre. I've played it for 5 minutes or so before giving up - didn't get very far, but I can comment on what I've seen.

- The graphics are good. It's obvious what everything's supposed to be. and I've got no complaints here. - Music is a bit annoying. The loop is too short and it gets monotonous very quickly. The SFX seem to be a bit too loud. - The gameplay is really cool. The gravity flip mechanic works very well and it feels good to get new energy from hard to reach places.

Two problems I've had: 1. It didn't seem very clear to me when I need to flip and when my ship is going to make it to the next platform. 2. For some reason I kept associating the gravity flips with the energy and thought that I could still flip, when in fact I couldn't. Maybe you should've made it so flipping costs energy. Or just change the UI so that the flips are shown as 3 big images on the bottom of the screen or next to the energy meter. That would make it a bit more intuitive.

I really like this one though. Good work.

Feel-o-clock by GamesOfAwe 2017-08-04T14:46:34Z

Very cool idea. It's simple but it works pretty well. It's a bit sad to think that this is really the life some people lead.

The game window is way too big by the way. Most of us won't have screens that are that high.

Power Struggle by gmfk07 2017-07-31T19:33:31Z

This looks really cool, but I can't start it for some reason. The screen just stays black. I'm on the newest version of Win10 right now.

Gymtastic by LittleLegend 2017-08-02T00:45:06Z

The graphics are really nice. The only bad thing I noticed was the "Wave" text, that was extremely blurry for some reason.

The music isn't bad either. Gives it a very weird feeling and I like it.

The gameplay is extremely simple, and I had a problem where the SFX where completely out of sync with the punches. Especially when you hold down the button it happens very quickly. This made the game a bit unenjoyable to be honest, which is unfortunate because the gameplay doesn't need to be much more complex if it feels good. But the out of sync stuff and lacking impact and weird hitbox detection is kinda putting me off.

You're definitely getting high points for graphics and humor from me though. I love the bodybuilder, but the gameplay needs a bit more polish.

Torch Boy by FloBar 2017-08-01T11:22:04Z

Really fun game. The graphics are great and the mechanics are very creative. I am unsure what the goal of the game is supposed to be though.

The game says 'how long can you survive?', but that's weird, since you can just stay in the corner and constantly press L -> J -> L -> J -> ... and will never die. But then there's that key at the top, and when you reach the door the game ends. It's unclear what exactly I'm supposed to be doing.

Then there's a slight balancing issue. You have two options as far as I see it: 1. Charge up and try to go for they key afterwards. This is hard as hell and near impossible to do. 2. Immediately jump up when you spawn, shoot three times, jump to get the key and avoid enemies and go down. You'll win the game in like 2 seconds.

I don't really know what the intention was, but it was really unclear. I'm going to assume you wanted to put in more levels, but ran out of time, which is unfortunate.

Overall this game is really awesome and something that could be made into a full game for sure. Great work.

Energy Dash by Shell Pirate 2017-08-04T15:12:06Z

Cool game. I had some problems because EU keyboards have QWERTZ instead of QWERTY, so I had to reach to the Z button every time to pick something up and that was really annoying.

The graphics are really well done. The music is pretty good as well.

So the gameplay is very simple, but quite some fun. I didn't enjoy the knockback very much, because it made the screen shake the entire time when you're firing a lot. It did feel satisfying, but also disorienting. Other than that it was a lot of fun though.

Overall very good entry. Great job.

Powersnek by Aarneus 2017-08-02T21:14:19Z

I just found out that 'snek' is an actual word people use for snakes. What.

This is a really nice puzzle game that would work perfectly on mobile. I really encourage you to think about releasing a full version there. Might have an audience.

The gameplay is very fun and the mechanics are intuitive, but surprisingly deep. I like that you think once about your entire movement pattern and then just go until you're through. Feels very good.

The presentation is great as well. Clear, high-quality sprites that show exactly what you need to know. The audio is passable I guess. Nothing special here.

Overall I enjoyed it a lot. Great work.

Character Building by Badly Drawn Rod 2017-08-01T21:55:03Z

My kids hate me. Their meter depleted so quickly that I thinkI should never be a parent now. My spouse hates me. She stayed with me a while longer, but ultimately she left as well. At least I got myself... oh, never mind.

This was a pretty cool experience. It's depressing if you think too much about it, but I enjoyed it.

The graphics are really simple, but they don't have to be anything more. The music isn't bad at all and the texts where really funny at times.

Really unique game, good work.

Powerless: Trump Teaches Typing by RootPew 2017-08-01T16:51:05Z

Obviously 5/5 for humor. This is probably the funniest game I've played so far. The presentation is very nice as well. The theme seems pretty tacked on, but whatever. It's a great game anyway.

I wish there was more covfefe to be honest. I've been waiting for covfefe to show up, but it rarely does. Covfefe is such a fitting meme for this that I feel there should be a mechanic centered just around that one word. Like some kind of frenzy mode where every word becomes covfefe.

The gameplay is okay, but it gets very hectic quickly and if you're unlucky with the word lenghts it's pretty impossible to hit every word.

Dorgus Needs Power! by WillData 2017-08-01T21:49:11Z

The concept is interesting, and it felt pretty good once you get into your brain that double jumps, shooting and scoring all takes from your energy. I just feel that there needed to be more indication of your power running low. I found myself accidentally killing myself with a double jump far too often.

Sound design is okay. Not too bad, but also nothing special. The graphics don't look to bad and are pleasing to look at.

The gameplay felt very good. The sliding around on death was confusing at first and I didn't understand what happened, but it was funny. I feel like the powerups shouldn't despawn like that. It's contradicting the game's design, as far as I see it. You're trying to stay away, because your gun basically has infinite range, but you have to get close to reach it before despawning.

Overall I enjoyed it. Good work.

RulesQuest by Adrien Dittrick 2017-08-01T17:22:53Z

I had quite a bit of fun and it's definitely a good game. I liked the gameplay a lot and there's quite a good amount of content here. I had a few issues though: - It's much quicker to move diagonally, isn't it? Seems like the movement vectors are multiplied but not normalized. - There's a really annoying popping sound every 2 seconds. Might be in the soundtrack. - Too many enemies at the circles. I could just stand there and level up like crazy. It felt like I didn't even need to collect powerups, because they give so much exp. - The web build runs very slowly for some reason.

Overall it's a really cool game. It just lacks a bit of polish and balancing. Good work though.

The safe zone by pmilian 2017-07-31T18:08:28Z

I had quite a bit of fun with this. It took me about 5 seconds to understand what was going on without reading any instructions, so great work on the interface and graphics.

The gameplay is really cool and definitely made me push in the buttons even harder when I noticed that I was running out of energy, but could barely make it if I'm lucky. It's a really cool idea.

I noticted that the zombies sometimes just stood in the way and blocked the entrance. Which is weird, because the get electrocuted a few centimeters to the left, but are blocked by an invisible wall right in the middle. I feel like they should just die when they reach the base, no matter if they are touching the electric fence or not.

Overall I really liked it. Good job.

Tunnel Ride by Xyntell 2018-08-12T23:22:22Z

Cool idea, but there's no way to lose if you click fast enough. I stopped at 300 and don't think I would've died, since nothing stops the game except for me reaching the bottom
