I really love text based games and their simplistic mood. I wish you provided some more context and instructions. i took me a while to figure out what to do.

I eventually figured this game out, but it took me a long time. Please provide instructions for a better play experience :)
Awesome job on the command line game though! Difficult task to tackle
I had no bloody clue what was going on but I loved it
sorry i just have no idea whats happening
Sorry I think you may need to post instructions, then I will come back
Not really sure what is going on in the game at all. Thought I had it for a moment and then turns out that wasn't it. Gave it a solid 15 minutes of trying to figure it out...
EDIT - Several days later: After reading some of the comments I finally understand what is going on a bit more. I needed to stop looking at it like a puzzle game and more like a narrative game. At least that is the only thing that made a little bit of sense. I still can't say I really get it. Will be rejiggering my score.
I couldn't figure out how to play this game :( It's a shame, because it looks beautiful.
Didn't work for me for some reason. error when opening the exe ;(
Not sure what i was supposed to do but it looked cool.
Very interesting game! I found it a bit difficult to figure out what to do; if there was some sort of tutorial and/or playing guide I feel as though this game would be a lot better off. The graphics are great and the feel of a text-based game is just fantastic. Great entry!
@peredom What's the error exactly ?
First some feedback for this simple little text based adventure. Easy to play, interesting UI, strong mood. I like how clock and calendar mechanics work, they are very clean from a UI perspective.
I basically interpreted this game as sort of an internal dialogue within the mind of someone named J. M. S. I liked the feedback bar on the top, that kind of fluctuation with the ~ symbols.
Very cool how you decided to take a path less traveled. It helps pave the way for others. I enjoyed and found it inspiring. Thanks.
Never played a game like this, had fun, though.
I as well couldn't figure it out. If it's meant to be a puzzle game, good job! haha A little more explanation would be nice though.
I'd really love for someone to post in the comments what the hell I'm supposed to do. I've been trying to figure it out for 5 minutes, but I don't know what's happening. I don't even know if the figuring out is part of the game or if it's just missing the instructions.
I like the little animations you did and I applaud you for trying something very different. I just wish I knew what to do.
The only thing I can say is: How do I play it? Impressive what you have done with so limited resources, but it needs some explanations.
Could have done with some instructions, but interesting concept either way.
Instructions would be nice, i did not understand what was happening at any moment
I don't know how to play. Some instructions would've helped.
No clue as to what I just played. But I liked it.
My pet theory is that the mysteriousness of this game is itself the experiment, being run on the players :-)
At first I thought it's people around a table and input is trying to call someone.. but then I looked a bit at the source (because I love c++ and btw it looks pretty good!) And in the code the "table" was referred to as "bed" and "visitors" rather than "friends" or something of sorts. Really took me by surprise O-o!
So I THINK it's about a patient that is perhaps about to die and the meter is how well he feels. "A run is between 5 to 10 days." is an interesting evidence to the concept. I don't know if it's possible to stay alive after this time (btw pretty depressive stuff is in the nerrative).
I'm still not 100% sure about the theory but that's what I could gather - for example some letters can be around the bed twice, so it kind of works out with names but then who am I calling when I choose that letter? Kinda tricky, honestly it gets pretty interperative at that point. Don't know if it's what the author meant but that's how abstract this thing gets.
All that is guranteed is that I got A - Z options and that every time I "consume" one option. Didn't notice *direct* influence on mood so I can't say it's feelings or thoughts or something like that. Also "Ask them your questions" sounds like a hint of sorts to go this direction. That's why I went with people.
Well made in terms of mood and suspense =]
No idea how to play, but somehow still fun. :)
It's honestly quite complicated to find out what to do or to understand what's happening. Maybe it was what you wanted though but I think it doesn't serve the game very well sadly ^^… Otherwise, the game is a very interesting experience (I think it's about the last days of a person called “M”, probably in a hospital bed?) and the fact you chose the Windows console as a game environment (with graphics!) is very interesing! Excited to see some other games like this from you :)
This is a special entry, but the presentation is a little too confusing. I didn't get what I'm doing until read g_o's comment above.
Anyway it's an unique approach to an unique theme.
Instructions are unclear but I can bet I would love this game if I had a clue about what was going on as the game looks great!
What is going on???
Somehow I got the idea that the game is about someone on their deathbed, even before reading g-o's comment. So thematically the game is interesting but gameplaywise really unclear. Now I'm all for being vague about what things do but when the player tries something there should be some feedback. I had no idea if what I was doing was having any effect on the game. Maybe that was the idea? Interesting experiment either way, good job
I agree with most people here, some instructions or clues would have been nice.
