At first I thought it's people around a table and input is trying to call someone.. but then I looked a bit at the source (because I love c++ and btw it looks pretty good!) And in the code the "table" was referred to as "bed" and "visitors" rather than "friends" or something of sorts. Really took me by surprise O-o!
So I THINK it's about a patient that is perhaps about to die and the meter is how well he feels. "A run is between 5 to 10 days." is an interesting evidence to the concept. I don't know if it's possible to stay alive after this time (btw pretty depressive stuff is in the nerrative).
I'm still not 100% sure about the theory but that's what I could gather - for example some letters can be around the bed twice, so it kind of works out with names but then who am I calling when I choose that letter? Kinda tricky, honestly it gets pretty interperative at that point. Don't know if it's what the author meant but that's how abstract this thing gets.
All that is guranteed is that I got A - Z options and that every time I "consume" one option. Didn't notice *direct* influence on mood so I can't say it's feelings or thoughts or something like that. Also "Ask them your questions" sounds like a hint of sorts to go this direction. That's why I went with people.
Well made in terms of mood and suspense =]
