The game is quite good, but I would like the game to give me a hint to which door is the right one to choose.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD33 → YouAreTheMonster

The game is quite good, but I would like the game to give me a hint to which door is the right one to choose.
There are no wrong doors, they simply lead to adjacent rooms. However the key you need to enter on a terminal must be deduced from the room number.
Interesting. I don't have the patience to go through the whole thing, though, sorry. =\
I could see this being a cool puzzle game, though. (it already it, I'm just talking about a post compo version too.)
It also looks really nice.
Well done!
Great idea, gfx could be more fluid ;) but that's a good work. A little tuto should be a great thing at the begginin
Nice game. I got the logic after about 3-4 rooms and managed to finish it. Nice graphics too!
I got lucky (Or used the labyrinth algorithm :P ) and found the "green room".
Too bad you didn't have time to add more, it felt like this game could've been very good, as it is already on the right track.
@Mekuri, @eLLectron: yeah, I wanted to add so much more, but I had only about 20 hours (out of 72)... So, that's what I have. I am considering a post compo version some time in the future.
Loved the graphics, this is a really nice-looking game! It took me some time to figure out how to get to the end, but i quite enjoyed it. Keep up the good work :)
For some reason the Dropbox link is broken for me.
Took me a couple op minutes, but then I tried adding the numbers, and I got to the green room. That was pretty decent.
There are two other puzzles as well. When you start a game, a way to calculate the correct result is randomized.
Hahahaha. At least you made something. Hopefully there will be a theme you can work better with next time. but this game could be a start to a bigger idea. Cheers!
Fun and simple game. Liked the music.
Took me a while to even figure out what to do but the sound is just incredible!
[SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER]
I'm not sure if i'm just getting lucky or not, but it seems that the key i need is always just the middle number in the room number. Anyway, i liked the graphics and music. It kind of reminded me of portal. Hope you get the chance to make something bigger and better next time. But hey, we've all dealt with themes we couldn't work with.
Reminds me of a horror film called Cube (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cube_(film)) :D
How do I tell which room is the end room? I ended up in one with a green light on the floor, but no console to enter a key and all the doors were locked. I guess that was it?
Reminds me of the movie Cube. But didn't see any connection to the theme.
Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing, but somehow I finished it. I t was really confusing.
@El Cabaro, there are three different puzzles, but once you start a game, one gets chosen and all rooms behave the same way. While your method works, it actually is something a bit different for that puzzle.
@divilysausages, @KrisDevelopment, The cube was one of the inspirations for the concept. So yeah... And the theme... well, the game was supposed to have a voiced story that explains why you are the monster, but I didn't manage to include that in time.
Very nice project guys, i really love it, please check our game too and if you liked it give us a vote. Look for Road to hell and enjoy.
I'm stuck in room #165, that's where I asked myself, what'the point of the game?
While I was crossing doors,I imagine myself as an alien, isolated in a human space station, they were watching me, i'm trying to hunt them, and to do so ,i have to be faster enough to reach the next door after they change the codes :)
@juaxix, you just made my day :)
Loved the graphics of course, and the music fit perfectly, but the gameplay itself was just not working for me. After ten minutes of playing the game and reading the instructions was still pretty unsure of the surroundings and how to win. Having some sort of signal when a key was close to being correct or wrong would be good, but since all the incorrect reactions are the same I definitely struggled with the gameplay itself.
Keep working on this, use the feedback you get from this and try to get a lot more. You've made a really cool game that could be a lot more!
Yeah, the cube influence is real :)
Interesting game, i like puzzle games so it was pretty entertaining for me. Shame you didn't have more time to work on your game, there is potential in it. Anyway, pretty good results for 20 hours work.
BTW like last time, you made a bit less conventional game :)
Graphics and gamplay are OK.
I didn't found the way to get the keys, just randomized the numbers, but it's totally a game for me. I'll try it later.
However the music, which it very nice, doesn't feel to fit with the mood :|
I guess I won? I hit a room with green light. A little more of a clue as to what I was trying to do would have been nice, but the look/idea was cool.
