LD25 — You are the Villain

Trois by haxpor 2012-12-18T08:18:00

Hey,
nice game. It's little bit hard to control at first. But after practice I could move forward :D
P.S. Text alignment in main menu ;)

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Spectacular Stride Machine by Garfeild 2016-08-29T18:49:00

@SetTheBet, yep, it's not our music. We are using different Polkas. Will mention in entry description.

Slings & Stones by Humighty 2016-08-29T22:28:00

Nice pixel art game, like style and animations of main character. Slings mechanics is very common. What's missing:
* variety in levels, randomly generated cyclopes is not enough
* indication when enemy approaches village from opposite side
Looking forward to future updates with music and better sounds. Good job!

Dig Dig Revolution by LittleDoomDevs 2016-09-03T12:27:00

Nice idea with rhythm mechanics, but without penalties it doesn't work, I was able to spam movement direction without any. Music is good so maybe it's just me - it was hard to listen to rhythm and move with it. Indication at the bottom of the screen helps but right moment to move is so short that I've always missed it. Jumping rhythm indication ball makes it harder for me to know when to move as it's movement isn't linear at the end.

So in conclusion:
+ Cute graphics
+ Good idea for rhythm game
- No penalties for out of rhythm movement
- Hard to hear, move with rhythm

Good job guy ;)

Kites by VitasaMode 2016-08-29T19:47:00

Wonderful art and very relaxing gameplay! Couldn't say anything else :) Great job!

Miky the Inuit by publicidadeba 2016-08-30T09:26:00

Nice visuals and atmospheric music. But gameplay still requires polishing:
* Game starts with frustration – intro is not possible to skip and you should spend couple of minutes waiting when actual game starts
* Inventory is a big area for improvements – you can collect all, but it's not possible to drop/transfer all. I'm not talking about sorting or other stuff, but these actions are must have when you make game with inventory
* When you've collected everything (or you think so), you should sit and wait till timer runs out. It will be great to have "end turn" or "speed up" button.
Additional thoughts:
* Random generation could be great addition to the game
* Maybe add some encounter, e.g. wolves or something else, to make game dynamic.

Anyway, great entry and interesting basic game mechanics. Good job!

ARTYS by WASD 2016-08-29T18:03:00

Looks rad! But I cant find the way to download it 0_0
There is no "Download" or anything on Itch.io page of your game =(

Phone Inventor by Xlip 2016-08-29T18:03:00

Nice game mechanics, like how you need to move across level with some limitation due to cable. Unfortunately, controls scheme is not best.

Kukulkan's Phantom by CMangas 2016-08-30T18:23:00

Nice retro aesthetics, looks like GB room escape game. When you die, you want to try again and solve that puzzle and move further into the pyramid. Good job!

KEK NOR KEK by nanimono 2016-08-29T17:50:00

Atmosphere is good, well made graphics. But without gameplay mechanics you quickly loose interest to it.

Log Driver by leuus 2016-08-29T18:24:00

Nice game, pretty easy to jump in and start playing, but it still needs to be polished:
* No game over once you reached other side of screen without all logs
* MOAR water flows indication could help to understand where and how you will be moving. Would like to see main flow direction indication.
Anyway, good job! it was fun to play :)

Starwalker by svyatozar 2016-08-29T17:38:00

I was fighting controls for 5 min and wasn't even able to enter the first portal. You need to work on those a little more to make it more enjoyable and playable =)

Knocker-Upper by Neonable 2016-09-03T12:40:00

Nice and simple idea, implementation is also well made.
At first it was hard to see the result, did I woke him up or not due to way it's shown - only symbol change, maybe some additional effect would help to indicate it better. Also on first levels I thought that one shot would work but it seems you need to shoot couple of times or maybe it was my bad aim, so not sure about it.

My only suggestion is to make clear indication of actions in the game it'll make it easier to see results of your actions.

Good job!

Fearsome Frontier by Toltec 2016-09-03T13:37:00

I'd like to talk about gameplay. Idea of defending your place with traps is good, but I'm not sure why traps can be triggered only once and the must be manually controlled.
Manual control/activation - it's to much micromanagment than planing
One use - makes it boring to play because you're leving player with less and less options to protect treasure with each activated trap. Also activation lacks good visual effect that can be seen from a far.

I'd suggest:
* Add recharge timer for traps
* Autotrigger traps or make activation easy and fast

There is a couple of released games that have this mechanics as their main gameplay so you can check them out as well.

Anyway, good job!

Naumachia by BlueLlama 2016-08-30T16:28:00

This game has promising mechanics and after some polishing it can be really fun to play pvp/ai arena game. And visuals are nice and clear. At the moment:
* Hard to control your ship
* Lack of UI and stats of the ship and crew

Anyway, good job!

Rogue-like by Domantas 2016-08-30T18:11:00

was surprised how good it is, good flow of researching the map and solving puzzles.
There is couple of places where you can fail and only way to fix it - restart, would be great to avoid this.

Overall it a good little puzzle game, enjoyed playing it. Good job!

Egyptian Dare by tenpn 2016-08-29T17:25:00

Interesting "sports" game =) Like the idea, but controls are not comfortable to play.

Catapult by g_o 2016-08-29T17:33:00

Music is good, but there is a lot of small problems making it hard to play & enjoy:
- It was problematic to pass the tutorial 0_o
- Seems like first shot is always auto aims enemies
- Cant see results of the attack, hard to maintain the status of the castle
- Non responsive visuals

Wrath of Amun-Ra by stvr 2016-08-29T19:17:00

Perfectly glitching game! I've almost lost myself couple of times, but managed to reach temple! :P Like glitch aesthetics and how noise helps to navigate around. Great job!

Place of Power by flazm 2016-08-30T15:57:00

Graphics are top notch!
Mechanics of mixing and finding the nest way to produce resourses are great as well, but in the late game it become more grind than research, maybe because last stages of the game taking too long without adding new elements or maybe even small events happening in the mines and ruins.

Anyway it's a great fun to play game, good job guys!

The Truth About The Pyramids by little-burrito 2016-08-29T18:48:00

Great setting and idea, good implementation! A bit hard to play on touchpad, but still engaging. Main thing what I was missing – sound effects, especially screams :)
Good job!

Mirrors of Atlantis by KittyMac 2016-08-29T18:08:00

Good looking story based game. Maybe lacks a little bit in the atmosphere of "Atlantis", but overall texts are fun and interesting to read =) Good job, sir!

Robot Recycler by quadtree 2016-09-03T12:35:00

Fight controls was hard to use & hard to aim range attacks.
For some reason idea of old robot recycling reminded me of the "Scrap Garden" game.

Good job!

Aquadrata by Four Quarters 2016-09-03T13:03:00

Graphics, SFX & ambient music, meditative gameplay! So polished, looks and feels great! You guys made a great job with this one ;)

Abandoned Planet by Remicy 2016-09-03T12:47:00

Stuck after the fridge puzzle - assembled it wrong way(not finished it) it's symbol appeared above char head, after this I wasn't able to interact with anything else. But graphics look great, ambient SFX & music also adds to overall atmosphere. Good job!

Ancient Rides by petitpois 2016-08-29T22:56:00

Game looks great for first time doing voxel art, nice color palette. The goal of first level could be less, for it wasn't possible to ride all 44 passengers in given time. Also, sound effect from game field has low volume, if you compare it to score counter. Overall, good job, looking forward to future updates!

Carp Diem by pogo575 2016-08-29T17:43:00

Carp fighting simulator =D
Not sure if it fits theme, but was fun to play as a fish in a pond.
You can try adding some fish food in there so it'll be possible to gain health and continue fighting.

Dino Lazer by Chaoslab 2016-09-04T19:55:00

Heyho, I've tried to run game on OS X and received following error: https://gist.github.com/Garfeild/775977f0642e516b41a14db87b5d12bd

Battle of the Blades by MacDocBros 2016-08-29T19:10:00

Wow, great visuals. AI is a bit dumb, but still better then nothing. Two weapons are very handy to fight on different distances. Would love to see more obstacles and platforms, game will be more dynamic. As @ReboundGames mentioned, cutscene is a killing feature.
Looking forward to future improvements! :)

20000 Pixels Into The Sea by blinry 2016-08-30T22:40:00

Awesome game with adorable monsters. Really liked mechanics of the wind, it was relatively easy to start sailing, but hard to master it. :)
While I was saving first 5 people, I was thinking that it would be great to make it changing. And BAM! here you go, wind starts to change when you start saving other batch of people.
Great job!

Watch for Falling Rocks by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2016-09-10T11:30:00

Simple game mechanic is covered with great visuals and humor. All characters are hilarious, especially Trump-like guy in swimming trunks. Game over screen is great touch. Sound design suits game very well and music is wonderful.
The gameplay is pretty intense and you need to plan ahead and wisely use heavy objects to stay alive for long time.
Overall, one of the best submissions!
