windows 64 bit here
W and A won't work
also there seems to be a problem with scaling the window (I can see other screens)

vegevan 2016-08-29 12:27

Oh yeah, I didn't had time to implements QWERTY controls, you ight try with AZERTY configured inputs.
For the scaling window, I totally agree, still lokking for proper solution. Thanks for feedback ^^

qwaklak 2016-08-29 12:40

WASD isn't work. SDZQ in my version ... I found bug when you are in menu hit button controls and then clic SPACE your menu is moving.

g_o 2016-08-29 12:59

@Vegevan thanks, is it possible that you'll post here a post-compo just for that tiny fix?

vegevan 2016-08-29 13:29

@g_o Thanks for asking, the controls have been reviewed, not properly but must be working ^^
@QwaKlak WASD controls have been fixed. The bug you mentionned is about space being the HUD-select control; I fixed it by disabling the buttons. Thanks !

NB: It is 3:30 pm, the update is loading, so wait a few minutes and try in ten minutes :)
Thanks guys ! How about the gameplay / gamefeel ? Can you give me your feelings ? :)

owndbyu777 2016-08-29 13:30

nice little submission! Cool theme and loved the lighting. The dodging of arrows and jumping from island to island combined with the control scheme made it a little bit difficult! Nice music and sound effects and integration with the ancient technology theme!

rugbugredfern 2016-08-29 13:33

Cool game, awesome lighting, but the controls seem to be messed up or something and it's super annoying.

setthebet 2016-08-29 13:50

I went into the OSX link but there were no game there. Were you uploading a version at that time?

vegevan 2016-08-29 13:58

@everyone The fixes is uploaded, thanks for sharing with me and don't hesitate to ask for more ^^
@owndbyu Yay thanks a lot for your comment, glad to see a satisfaied player :D
@RugbugRedfern What do you mean with controls ? Try newest version (same link), maybe the problem is solved.
@SetTheBet really ? I cliked on the link and a zip file tried to be download, do you want me to host it elsewhere ?

mathias234 2016-08-29 15:04

A fun game, I saw a couple of bugs ( mostly in the shadowing system ) but other then that the controls felt good i loved the hooks and i loved how smooth everything felt, i wouldnt have guessed that this was made in 48 hours

vegevan 2016-08-29 15:09

@mathias234 Yeah I agree with the shadowing bugs, that is my first try with lightnings, next LD will be better ;) Thanks for your comment !

justashadow 2016-08-29 15:20

I can't tell if the writing is intentionally bad, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Also, there is no options menu, not even for the resolution. I don't know much about Godot Engine, but one would think that there is a "Screen.SetResolution" somewhere in there.

g_o 2016-08-29 15:34

Haha this game is hillarious!
I liked the part where I fell to the pit in the beginning because I thought it was a carpet and then read "This is a death pit."
And the "everything red react only once"
I just LOVE this kind of uh-oh humor!
The soundtrack is great as well! Really sets the funny mood.
Lighting was also awesome
Overall awesome job! I like this entry =)

wheerd 2016-08-29 15:35

The whole vibe of this game is really good. I like the music, the graphics, the gameplay. It would be nice though if the position of the character was clearer. I have run a lot of times into the abyss, because it looked like my character was still on the ledge. The lighting seems to be buggy sometimes and then the wall appears completely black. That way, I cannot always be sure if it is a wall or the abyss :D Also, some checkpoints would be nice, so that you dont have to redo the whole level, if you slip off near the end.
All in all, a great game, pretty impressive for 48h! I especially like the lighting and the hook mechanic as well as the archeology/adventure vibe.

vegevan 2016-08-29 15:50

@JustASHadow Which writting are you talking about ? For the resolution, I just don't know how to do it yet, but thanks for the idea, I've seen something like this i'll give a look :)

@g_o I'm so happy, you can't understand; that was hard to make something funny with only three types of cell and two mechanics ^^ I'm so glad you enjoyed, thanks for sharing it with me :D I guess WASD works fine now ? Anyway, thank you so much, you made my LD :D

@wheerd Thanks for the suggestions and remarks. About the character position, I haven't touch the camera settings but I will soon :) As I said, that was my first try with ligthnings and I had some issues with the occluders to make mysterious places (Stage_1 begin, you can't see the relic unless you're on the moving platform); come see my next game on LD37 for better lightnings ;)
The checkpoints were the very next todo thing, I'm sorry the time lacked for this feature :/
Anyway wheerd, big thank to you for your very complete comment.

Thanks a lot mates, I'll go to your entry with time, be sure of that :D

differentname 2016-08-29 17:08

Good atmosphere to the game with the music and dim lighting. I wish the check points were more frequent or something, cause I die a lot and feel like I have to redo too much of the level. A lot of these deaths are based on things I couldn't have known beforehand, like having to use the correct Red statue, but not knowing what path i'm closing off by using it, or which door will be unlocked or whatever. It's fun learning from the mistake so I can get it right next time, but it can take a while to get back to where I was.

pogo575 2016-08-29 17:17

Really wanted to play this more but I kept running into a bug in which I would swing to a statue but still get counted as falling into the pit.

onyon 2016-08-29 17:26

Nice mood and artstyle and concept and I really like it. Good job c:

g_o 2016-08-29 18:28

@vegevan
yup it worked sweet.
no problem, it's seriously one of my fav so far this LD.

vegevan 2016-08-29 18:52

@DifferentName Hi, thanks for the comment. Checkpoints were planned, I apologize for not having implemented them on time ^^ I tried to do shorts level instead, but I get your comment :)

@pogo575 That's odd; but I know there is (on stage 2 with red statues) a known problem up there; I couldn't get fixed on time and correcting it might change the level too much for a simple "fix". Sorry you had a problem. BTW, know that colliding while hooking stops the flight and makes you fall.

@onyon Thanks a lot, first time I try this kind of graphics :D

@g_o Many thanks ^^

aroscillo 2016-08-29 19:18

Neat game. and thanks for playing mine.

kai20 2016-08-29 20:33

stage 1 is compleaty diffrent than the tutorial but i liked it

zeriver 2016-08-29 20:43

Pretty polished game with a lot of levels, that's rare in Ludum Dare games. Gameplay is solid and every level presents a new kind of challenge. Art style and soundtrack go along pretty well giving a game nice atmosphere. Humor also adds to this game.

tommarx69 2016-08-29 20:56

Cool game !

amine-tcherak 2016-08-30 13:40

Great games i like it good works

keln 2016-08-30 13:58

Very interesting game with great mechanics, loved it :). Perfectly this could have been a 1 month work game, it feels polished and fun.

puppetmaster 2016-09-12 19:09

Very clever game with a really cool zelda dungeon touch.
In godot you can change "shadow_filter" to ESM "project settings" and play around with the "ESM Multiplier" value "light2d" to get softer shadows.
