The graphics are awesome! I couldn't find a gear in the end to open the door, but I managed to repair the steam machine. Good work!

qwaklak 2016-08-29 10:22

Fine but first time when i run this game was bugged ... pipe, fuel and water ware interact with engine but nothing happend.

onyon 2016-08-29 11:56

I love the art! Good entry, nice job!

ilseroth 2016-08-29 12:56

The pixel art was well done, but the inventory bugged, then my movement glitched up and it locked into going left.

ib1s 2016-08-29 13:01

The game is intriguing: the player has to figure stuff our himself and find the solution. I like that kind of games. Unfortunaly, I was not able to jump after I have put charcoal in the machine to burn.

rafacp 2016-08-29 13:09

Awesome game!
Got as far as fixing the steam machine. Found the key but couldn't operate the door.
Loved the art and animation.
Missed some soundtrack tho.
Congratulations!

I tried everything I could think of, but the play button didn't work for me for some reason.

jupitron 2016-08-29 13:13

Cool art and good platform feeling, couldnt stick to the story part.

lonesurvivor 2016-08-29 13:14

I never saw the inventory bugging out, so I have no idea where that comes from. The problem with keep going into one direction can normally be solved by pressing the corresponding key once (this usually happens when your window loses focus while pressing buttons).

Regarding the engine where nothing happens: You need to do this in order to being able to open the door. Sadly i forgot to include a change of the inspection text when you have completely done it.

But thank you all for your comments!

ninja00283 2016-08-29 13:24

So i didn't get far, but i thought i still share my experience.
The art is awesome, but i couldn't enjoy much of it because the controls.
Sometimes i just sopped being able to jump, once when i the key the robot just ran left in to the house.
So yeah it could use some improvement.
But as far as i know it has one of the best stories to tell.

faeld 2016-08-29 14:24

I quite liked the game, very standard platformy stuff but all done quite well for a jam - jumping is a bit floaty and the web browser version dropped frames sometimes (download worked better), but all in all I enjoyed my time with it

spinach_chicken 2016-08-29 14:40

This is a delightful little game! I love the graphics and the story. At one point, jumping stopped working all together, but other than that a wonderful game. Good job!

diegoctorguet 2016-08-29 15:42

I couldn't manage to finish the level but I find the game interesting and much more completed than the average.
Nice game there!

g_o 2016-08-29 16:24

Pretty fun game!
I actually played more time than I intended, didn't make it to the end but made lots of progress I think (got the key the brass plate, fixed the thingy still couldn't open the door though, got the saw etc...)

Overall it's a simple game but done in a lovely way, the art was cool the sounds were cool as well.. perhaps a soundtrack would add to it even more.
Great job!

lightsoda 2016-08-29 16:28

Seems like a fun little game. It keeps bugging out for me though. Either I get stuck moving left, or the jump stops responding, it seems to happen when I try to use an on something, like a burner or the table.

lightsoda 2016-08-29 16:29

s/use an on/use an item on

I a word above.

lonesurvivor 2016-08-29 17:04

@lightsoda
I guess you played the web version? This is probably caused by the game window losing focus for whatever reason (mostly clicking outside of it). The desktop version should work better. And if you get stuck moving, just refocus the window by clicking and then press the corresponding movement key once. It should be good then. I never had problems with the jump though. Can't really tell where this is coming from.

But anyway, thank you for your comment

tenpn 2016-08-29 17:04

I like it! You could make it a bit clearer what's interactable and what's not - pixel hunting is no fun.

zulman 2016-08-29 17:43

I think you are good with controls and environment. Also it's looks like very lightweight game with fast gameplay, but because of little platfroms unpolished state it's hard to play. Also some tooltips/reactions on mouse over/out or custom cursors will be perfect (when i played first time i didn't try to use mouse after first try).
In any case pretty good platformer with interesting story here, good job :)

wheerd 2016-08-29 18:44

Amazing game for 48h! I love the graphics style (smoking steampunk robots FTW). Even though I don't like point-n-click adventures very much, with the hints from the inspect function I managed to solve it. Some of the item combinations are fairly absurd, as one would expect :D I did not experience any of the bugs the other commentators mentioned. Really solid game, I would definitely play it if you want to flesh out that story :)

amine-tcherak 2016-08-29 19:20

Good Works Amazing Game )..

vitineth 2016-08-29 20:41

The graphics are great and made the game nice to play. It lagged at times when playing which made it a little difficult to continue but that might just be my browser. I downloaded it for windows and it worked wonderfully. It's a lot of fun to play but I couldn't find the cog that was needed to open the door. Might just be me being stupid though. It was so much fun to play and I'd love to continue if I could find that gear. A great entry, well done.

lonesurvivor 2016-08-29 22:02

@vitineth
Thank you for your comment (and everyone else too, of course)
I'm pleased that you had fun! If you want a little tip, you get the thing you need for the gear from the guy on the floating island. He just wants some oil...

owndbyu777 2016-08-30 00:12

Very cool! Love the inventory system and the particle effects, jumping straight into the story made me want to get out there and fix the world! Well done! Loved the animations and the conversation bubbles.

A nice submission for sure!

jackyjjc 2016-08-30 11:16

I'm sorry I really want to finish the game but I keep on hitting bugs. The first time my character just keep going left and doesn't stop no matter what I do. The second and third time the character just stop being able to jump so I couldn't continue. I love the graphics and the sound effect. It has an interesting story as well but I just couldn't finish playing :( I will come back once you fix the bug :)

lonesurvivor 2016-08-30 11:54

@jackyjjc
I'm sorry that this happens. I seriously have no idea where that comes from, especially the jumping bug. It never happened to me. The keep walking bug seems to be caused by losing window focus while walking, as I mentioned above and in the description. I can only recommend to download the desktop version, it should work better in general. I'm not sure if i will fix the bug, I'm kind of done with that quick-and-dirty code xD.
But anyway, thank you for playing!

keln 2016-08-30 14:18

Cool inventory concept and game in general, it has comments for all things, it felt completed. Some music could have been great. I had the jumping bug and couldn't play more :(

jackyjjc 2016-08-31 12:18

@lonesurvivor thanks for you tips! I downloaded the windows version and it works flawlessly. I guess it is only the web version then. I finished the game after getting stuck for about 10 minutes. I got to the stage where I had the steam machine running but didn't know what to do next with the flower. Until I accidentally discover I can right click on things......It would be nice if the game explains the control more at the beginning. Overall nice game! Well done!

lightsoda 2016-09-01 07:56

@lonesurvivor
Yeah I did play the web version, and I also knew about the possibility of losing focus, as you had pointed that out previously. However, I'm not sure that's the issue, the last time I tried pressing the same movement key as suggested, but nothing, clicking stuff and getting "not close enough" and dragging stuff in the inventory still worked.

lonesurvivor 2016-09-03 00:03

@lightsoda
Hm ok thank you for telling me. This is weird, as I said above, it never happened to me. So I don't have any clue what to do about it. But I guess I don't have time to fix it anyway, working on a new (and more "serious") project already.
