Decipher Quest by SiENcE 2015-04-23T05:57:00
One of better games this LD. Well done. Maybe giving hints too soon, but otherwise, very entertaining and intellectually challenging.

One of better games this LD. Well done. Maybe giving hints too soon, but otherwise, very entertaining and intellectually challenging.
It's ok, but too much grinding at start.
I found it too hard. But otherwise, a really nice production.
While I like the idea, this does not actually qualify for Ludum Dare. The word "ludum" means "the game" and the game has to have play. A movie, as good as it might be, is not a game.
Other than that comment, the music is great :) Nice mood.
This was the best laid out game on this LD for me (for now, at least). Well done, guys.
Nice game! I was a bit annoyed by the fact that I had to replay the first two levels only because I just wanted to handshake with the guy, but it's ok.
The game has much potential if expanded upon, so Option A :)
Interesting concept, but it is not clear at first what exactly you have to do.
I reached 250 then I gave up, because it was a bit slow for me. So I guess a difficulty setting would be nice. However, I had a very good time playing the game. Well done!
Well done for first LD. Keep learning and honing your skills. Next one will be even better.
Nice take on the theme. I find aiming too hard, timing seems to be off all the time as you are moving, but I guess I'm just bad at these kinds of games. :)
You have reminded me of my childhood. That was the game that caused me to play around with programming. I guess I wouldn't participate in LD if it weren't for that game. :)
Well done implementing it.
I was just unsure if the bananas were discarded if another player throws before your falls.
It is a bit too hard, the planets are easily pushed out of solar system. Although not a totally new idea, I really liked the implementation :)
The graphics look great :)
Interesting game and concept. It would be nice to see how you would expand on it :)
I reached 348. It's nice that it's not the same phrases every time.
Too bad you couldn't add sounds in time.
Sound is a bit too squeaky (pun intended) :)
Nice game, really nice.
Another game with colors as a weapon, just like mine. Although with a lot more action. :)
Great game.
I just miss the option to decrease the angle and the power. But maybe I am missing something.
Anyway, very nice concept and implementation.
The game is nice, but the sound is too annoying, unfortunatelly. Some music would also be nice.
When I saw the screenshot, I thought we made exactly the same game. Then I realized yours is about something else.
I am not able to try it at the moment, but I surely will.
I would appreciate it if you looked at mine :)

The ants in my kitchen don't go into water. Just sayin' :)
I like the Earth :)
One of the best :)
I have no idea what I just went through, but, boy oh boy, did I just laugh watching those buildings fly. Nice construction technique.
UI is too small and I don't really know what each building those from the descriptions. Also, the numbers seem random.
Otherwise, it was a nice laugh.
And I get what you say about Unity's new UI, took me a while to get it.
I played for Occulus without Occulus, but with cross-eye technique. It was awesome! :)
Nice game. I don't get the trajectories for different planets. It seems that physics is not the same for all planets, but maybe it's the spin so maybe I'm wrong.
All in all, very nice entry. Well done!
I liked the game. Are there only two levels, or did I miss something?
Very nice entry. Well done!
One of the greatest game this LD. Well done!
What did I just play? What's with the body fluid obsession these days? ;)
Very nice game. Well done!
I guess this game could fit any theme. You just name the blue pixel whatever you want :) This time it's trusty calculator. I was expecting a bit more from the title. Theme put aside, it's a nice little game. But the waves differ only by the number of zombies, not by difficulty.
At some point it becomes mind-boggling. In a good way.
I had a very good laugh. Nice one.
The only thing is that the audio stops too abruptly, but otherwise the sound is good. The game too.
I really liked the concept, although I felt it was a bit confusing at first. It seemed also that it's more important to get strength and magic than speed. But with some refinement, it could be a great game. Also, a fighting animation would be nice. :)
You did not have to opt-out on graphics. It has a nice feel to it.
Nice little game.
I'ts x86, not x84, but that doesn't make the game any worse :)
This is what you are gonna do. You will now stop doing whatever you are doing and go and make about 40 hours of gameplay. Then you will write me a mail that you have completed this task. Then you can return to whatever you were doing. :)
just kidding.
It's a very, very fun game. Well done!
Nice take. :)
Simply great.
Nice game. The goal of each mission should be always visible, not only during the story text.
Nice game.
Maybe the bubble is too large so it gets hit easier by the enemy, but other than that, it's interesting.
Interesting concept. Great diversity. The game bugs a little with the rotating spoon, but otherwise it's a nice little game.
I so much watched the notes I didn't realize there's noone to play them.
I hoped for strafing :) Also, I wanted to shoot the balloons straight at the robots' feet, but I can't look down on keyboard. With better keyboard support, this game would ROCK.
I read your story and I'm glad you decided to participate in spite of lack of inspiration.
I am not sure what I'm supposed to be doing.
Nice little game. Shooting is sometimes difficult because everything is blocking the projectiles, but other than that I've had fun playing the game :)
Well done!
The way the world rotates when you are brainless is one of the best effects I've seen. Very well done! Maybe a bit too hard, but still great!
Very nice concept.
Destroying my keys? No, you don't! :p
Well done!
Pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza m-tcs... m-tcs... m-tcs... m-tcs.
Well done, the concept is great. I liked it.
Well done. Nice little concept. With a bit of expanding, it could be a great standalone game.
I also made a game about fighting evil cubes... Might wanna check it out :)
http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-32/?action=preview&uid=44370
One word. Awesome!
The game is really nice.
The only problem I found with it is that everything starts shooting at you at once. It would be a lot easier if at first, only few bullets would come at you so you can familiarize and practice the controls. Then after you become an expert in movement, more difficult enemies come at you. But that's only me.
Otherwise, a very nice idea.
Yeah, what rectangular Tim said! Never give up. Just like this post says: http://ludumdare.com/compo/2015/04/24/post-mortem-stain/
Too hard for my taste, but otherwise very good idea.
Very nice game. Totally awesome twist of Tetris. Neat application of the theme.
Amazing stuff. I think I'm gonna get a carpal tunnel syndrome from your game, but that's what it is :)
Very nice concept. Well done!
I get an error for web version.
It looks like this was the result of either:
a mistyped address
an out-of-date link
Maybe too ease, even on expert mode, but I guess that depends on typing skills, so for slow typers it's great. Maybe an adaptive difficulty change would be nice. :)
Well done! I enjoyed this game.
Interesting concept. But it's true that I was expecting something more after a nice intro :)
Too bad it's not finished. It has potential. I especially liked the trembling effect when you are under attack.
Like others said, the only problem was too few resources given for each plant and at the same time, the goo spreads too quickly. With a bit balancing this game could be awesome. :) Well done.
Interesting concept. It's somehow gross to fight with someone's leg. Yuck :p All in all, it has some potential.
Interestingly, it is more fun to play than I was expecting.
But the game is full of bugs. ;)
I scored 23. Didn't know if I was even dealing damage.
Controls are too sensitive. I held up (with jetpack) for less than half a second and I went off screen. It would help if there was a pointer to show at least my horizontal position so I know where to drop bombs. :)
All in all, it's ok.
@jormungandr: Nice catch. Didn't try that. The original idea was a bit different - each color having different effects, but time did not allow to implement it. I tried to play with how much coins you get for each box, but there was simply not enough time to test for such scenario. Well done, you have broken the game :) Truth is, it really needs more testing and tuning.
@TwiiK: it was some kind of a bug. The game should've ended as soon as it drops down below the board level. Never really understood why it didn't. ;)
@Hectate: Sometimes, the problem occurs because the windows is not in fullscreen, and sometimes it happens in fullscreen. Not sure what is the problem (probably some scaling stuff). You can always try again - sometimes it solves the problem.
@Paulozz: Opposite colors damage the boxes the most, but the further the color, the more damage it does. So, for green - red and purple damage it too.
@Benjamin: thanks for suggestions. You made me think about expanding on the idea. I didn't mean to do anything more with it but now I'm considering the option.
@robotic-brain: thanks. Since balancing factors are way off and don'thave a maximum bound. So it went awry. :-) it really does need a balance update :-)
My wife says it was really funny. Other than that, I have nothing to add :)
Very nice! Very nice, indeed. I just didn't know how to replenish the water. Is that even possible?
Nice one!
Like others said, seems too accidental or drones enter the kill field and do not die. Otherwise, it's a nice concept. Just needs a bit more refining.
Well done.
Well done! Very nice execution.
Yup! Gonna play this one for a while.
Nice one. A bit too random. Not sure what's happening most of the time. And I had difficulties separating from the other orb. But all in all, it's a very nice game.
Very good game. Jumping on platforms needs to be tweaked a little, but it's great anyway!
Well done!
Well done! The gameplay is really nice.
Nice one, really nice. But it's way too hard.
Nice one :) I hoped for multiple endings, but it's ok this way too :)
Nice game. With some graphics improvement, level design and movement tweaking (movement too fast currently), it would be awesome game. Well done for the first game. Well done!
Very nice take. I liked it. I admit, it was a bit too hard, but it's satisfying to play. Like others said, some on-screen info about what's in the burger would be nice.
Other than that, I think you should expand on the idea.
Very very nice game. It took some time to get what I need to do. But once I got it, it became great. With some tweaking, this game has a very huge potential.
Note: the left status bar panel was covering the game, which is not all that practical from user experience perspective.
All in all, a very enjoyable game.
Did I just save the internet?
Did I just save the internet?
Nice little game. :)
Awesome game. A keeper :) Hope you expand the game further :)
I was also totally confused about what to do. But when I got it, it was really a nice concept. However, I didn't find later levels any more difficult than than the first one. With some modifications, this could be a really nice game. :) Well done.
This is by far the coolest game I've played on LD. Nice job.
I've tried this game against myself and I shot myself in the back. Gotta try this with another human being, it might be a laugh :)
Nice one. The soundtrack is nice but maybe a little bit repetitive. All in all, very solid game.
Very good game. But maybe a bit too hard. If you mess up later on, you need to repeat everything again. It gets frustrating.
All in all, very nice take on the theme. Well done! :)
While the production is very good, it is sad to think what kind of moral state our world is in that we find killing amusing. We find entertaining things that all known laws prohibit. I have rated the game without this in mind, but, oh boy, do we need a reality check. Sorry for the honesty.
I think I just won this game.
I had a laugh. Don't be surprised if Bieber's PR comes knocking on your door :p
Cool. But you should know that I climbed out of the cage at second level and jumped in where I needed to be with 4/4 pixels. :) Probably a feature, not a bug. :)
Well done! I like cube games. Check mine if you'd like. :)
The concept is great, I just think you should've focused more on the color than the platforms. I was almost completely unable to mind both the colors and avoiding holes in the ground. It was too difficult for me.
But, anyway, it's a great entry. I used color as an unconventional weapon too, you might wanna check it out and tell me what you think :)
http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-32/?action=preview&uid=44370
Controling a sword is a bit difficult but otherwise a great game.
I love puzzle games and this one is great.
I was not too sure about the consequences of my actions, but it was a nice experience. Really reminds of Papers, please! But nevertheless a great game. Not sure how it fits the theme, though.
Very well done! :)
I like this kind of games. It's great that the sound is not always the same for each direction.
Very nice leg movement. Well done!
Nice idea. It was a bit hard to grasp at the beginning, but then I realized what I need to do. It's a nice game. Well done.
It has a lot of room for improvements. One being - I can't walk over dead guys. Why can't I walk over the dead guy? :)
Interesting idea. Was there any way to preserve the combo and not get the parents too aware of the children crying? Ah, I am the monster.
Very nice production, keep up the good work.
At first I thought it was a very bad cover picture on this page. Then I played the game and realized this is the BEST game this LD. Very very very well done. Lot's of stars from me. I hope you win :)
Cool concept! It would have been better if the UI shown somehow the amount each building costs. And sometimes it's unclear how each building benefits you. But it's nice! The style reminds me of Darwinia :)
Very nice game. I like shape-shifting games.
I hate zombie games and movies and everything else zombie related. However, the game itself is great. Nice mechanics, it's cool that you can upgrade stuff but I think you overpowered the player :) (I will not regard my dislike of zombies when rating, don't worry).
Very nice concept. One has to remember who was who.
Totally cool, man :) I got to 245. It was frantic. Didn't know where too look anymore. :) Innovative concept, I must say.
The movement is too fast. Can't control the monster right. Otherwise it has a nice feel to it. It has some potential.
Very nice idea. Keep up the good work.
Tag! You're it!
Interesting and innovative idea. It would be a lot easier if you had only four legs... :p
That boss surely is invincible :p
Inversion of control. Nice one.
Nice monster :)
After I entered a nucleus family unit it was game over. Lol.
Too bad it has no sounds and the math has gone awry. But if expanded upon, it has a great potential.
Very nice concept. I just can't wrap my mind around it. :)
Well done.
Nice sounds :) I totally wiped out my ASD keys.
Totalno dobra igra, braćo balkanci! :)
At least you tried :) This could've been a cool game if it had some action. I like games in which you can make your own levels. I made a level with a wall checkerboard. ;)
Neat little game.
Cool. I miss more gameplay, but it's great. :)
Indeed one of the better games this LD.
Maybe a score during the game would be nice or something... Or did I miss something?
Nice idea. Maybe some improvements on controls and jumping. And I've found some graphics glitches on pressing V. A blue box.
Cool. After a while there were so much dead bodies that I couldn't find out where the last cop was. So he killed me. Nice detail :) Albeit perhaps not intentional.
There are no wrong doors, they simply lead to adjacent rooms. However the key you need to enter on a terminal must be deduced from the room number.
@Mekuri, @eLLectron: yeah, I wanted to add so much more, but I had only about 20 hours (out of 72)... So, that's what I have. I am considering a post compo version some time in the future.
There are two other puzzles as well. When you start a game, a way to calculate the correct result is randomized.
@El Cabaro, there are three different puzzles, but once you start a game, one gets chosen and all rooms behave the same way. While your method works, it actually is something a bit different for that puzzle.
@divilysausages, @KrisDevelopment, The cube was one of the inspirations for the concept. So yeah... And the theme... well, the game was supposed to have a voiced story that explains why you are the monster, but I didn't manage to include that in time.
@juaxix, you just made my day :)
Maybe walking is a bit slow for my taste, but otherwise, nice little game.
Very nice game. A minimap would be great :)
Cool. Played a while. It would be nice to see the other guy on the map too. Or did I miss something?
Interesting. But I couldn't find out if there was any hint as to when to click STOP so that the arrow ends up on green. Maybe this mechanism should be a little bit more obvious.
Didn't know what to do at first. But it's ok. Takes some time to adjust.
I am unable to play the game. It says 'movie not loaded'. I checked, I have the latest version of Flash Player. Would you know what's the problem? I won't rate the game at this point, but if you will, please let me know if you can do something for me to be able to play it. It looks interesting.
I succeded in opening the game. Very nice game I must say. The only issue I had is that the folders were tricky to move around, maybe the playing area should be a little bit larger.
Altogether a nice game.
Nice artwork style. I like your inversion of control :)
I got to 12200. Cool concept. It surprised me when I had to take control of the monster. It's cool.
If the music is not yours, why did you include it? You are not supposed to include anything that is not yours and created during the LD. You should've entered a JAM. While you opted out from the Music scoring, the music still affects Overall, Fun and Mood. I think this is against the rules. While I really liked the game, I think you shouldn't have done that.
I don't like the domain of demons so the theme is a dislike for me. However, the mechanics of the game are very promising. With a different story, it would be much more appealing. I'm gonna ignore my dislike of the chosen story for the scoring.
Totally awesome. Well done.
Totally cool. I enjoyed screaming. :)
Too many fist slimes. :) A bit more variations in mechanics and the game would be great. I like card games :)
Totally shitty game :) Nicely done.
Never found the ocean, but wasn't destroying the houses totally fun? :)
Very well done.
Nice concept, I just can't understand people's obsession with fallen angels, devils, demons etc. Too many dark games these days :( Anyway, you left a comment on my page, it seems that the dropbox was temporarily down. It seems ok now, but if it isn't, I've added an alternative link. If you'd like, you can try again.
Great game, I've had a lot of fun.
People dancing all around... :)
Nice sim. Too bad it has no action. Also, when boat is there, people ignore the monster. Anyway, graphics are great.
I would have it run a little slower at first, then slowly speed up. This is difficult for me, even though I am a piano player. :p
This is my favorite so far. Well done. A bit hard at the end, but great nonetheless.
Nice job. A little dark, but fun never the less.
Cool :)
It's just that randomness sometimes gives you two sandstorms in row with no shields for those turns.
But all in all, very nice entry.
Nice game, really.
Just never never never use Z for controls. Lots of keyboard layouts have this key on totally different place, not anywhere near the X.
This is very very original. I'm gonna show this to all the people at work. The only issue I had is that the picture was blurry (camera out of focus) so QR codes were not correctly recognized. But if I was able to focus, it would've been even better. I am impressed.
It would be great if fish had some texture, scales and the eyes... Currently it reminds me of something bad. :p
Having said that, the rest of the game seems fluent, it's just that the camera is too low, I was barely able to see the pipes, and the doors opened without me knowing what I did with the pipes. I was just jumping around. Other than that, it's a really nice entry.
Keep up the good work.
Very nicely done. Sometimes the hit angle is a bit off, but all in all, a great game.
Too bad you couldn't finish it in time. Keep up the good work.
Too bad you didn't make it. I was very excited when I saw a dungeon crawler screenshots... Keep up the good work.
Nice. :)
I've seen something like that already, but it's a good application of the theme.
Keep up the good work.
Wow. Simply wow! Well done. Very nice concept and nicely implemented. Graphics are superb. I love the graphics style.
Nice try. However, I found watching the hotspots all the time which made it difficult for me to see what is going on with the character and enemies. Maybe if you switched positions - placed the character screen below the "rythm" poart. In any case, well done.
Music is terrific. :)
Well done on the game.
Very very nicely done. I hope you're going further with this. Reminds me of "papers, please" in a way.
Well done.
Too bad there is no visual representation of different upgrade levels, and upgrades are too cheap. I could click upgrade all the time, I was getting more than I could spend. Also, upgrading should be by clicking the appropriate job itself. Click on job then click upgrade was a bit cumbersome.
Other than that, keep up the good work.
I really like Conway's Life, but I find the inherent behaviour too difficult to hold in our brains. I've experimented with CGoL but never created something playable that is not difficult.
Would you please fix the link for Win download? I get "Page not found". I don't like installing other browsers to run Unity web player, so please, would you fix the link? I am very intrigued by the game (mine being similar in graphic style).
Nicely done. I was afraid it was similar to my entry. But it's only graphical style. Although I lack animations :)
Keep up the good work.
One of the best I've played this LD. Well done.
I was playing this game, and just before I reached the end, I thought to myself: "I need to shave." A few seconds later, that was shown in the game. This game resonates. This is one of the more original entries. Very well done.
Totally great idea.
I'd like to see this expanded.
Very impressed.
Interesting game, I must say. :) Didn't get how each tile works, but I had fun none the less.
Cool game. Had a lots of fun.
Keep up the good work.
These are the strangest controls ever, but boy did I have fun :) Very well done.
Nice concept. I tried something much similar, on a hex grid, with more different buildings, but I was too ambitious. Keep up the good work!
Currently only up to round 18 against computer. Does it every fail? Randomly? Or never?
Gotta try that with someone.
Well done!
That was great. I suck at this game, but I had loads of fun. I don't get the formula. It seems I'm always to short on sun. :)
Anyway, gonna try again after work.
Very well done.
Cool. I almost thought the alternate clicking IS the game. Nice surprise. However, I would like to give you a hint for future development.
Never use Z or Y for controls. These are on different positions on different keyboard layouts (different languages), so on my keyboard, X is some 5 keys apart from Z. Either allow player to bind keys to whatever they want, or set controls to universal keys like space, enter, shift, control etc.
Well done, anyway!
Keep up the good work.
A few points.
Point one - great game.
Point two - music is a bit repetitive, but still nice. If you are trying to get all 15 endings, then it repeats a lot.
Point three - It would be nice if endings were a bit more different, depending on the life choices, but it's ok. I guess, for a mother with a newborn baby it's amazing how much content you managed to produce in 48 hours.
Verdict - All in all, very very nice game. Keep up the good work.
681? I gave up on 10.
Too hard for me, but it's really nice.
It's gread and new, but I find it too hard. I don't know how to block them. Instead I kept pushing them into the pit.
However, it's very nice. Keep up the good work.
This one is really nice. Well done! Nice sound too.
The only issue I have with the game is that animations take too long. This is bad with games that have repetitive tasks.
Other than that, it's a great little game.
Well done.
Very nice. I did something similar to this (at least in concept, but without people running around) with my game, but I failed to implement everything that I wanted.
The game is not too obvious at first, I bankrupted too easily the first few times. Then I realized I don't need so much TV sets :)
Simon says... what do I say? Cool game. :)
Cool. I liked the theme application. It's a bit hard for me, but very good nonetheless.
Well done, reminds me of a game I can't recall the name...
But it's a good one :)
Keep up the good work.
Pretty little game. :) I just found the animation between two choices takes toooooo much time. It would be good if I could have skipped it by pressing something. But other than that, it's very nice. Challenging too.
Nice graphics. Cute little game. Well done.
Btw. you can ALT+ENTER to make it full screen.
Didn't completely get how is the mother cube growing, but this game looks promising. Too bad you didn't finish it.
This is gross. :p
I jumped everytime my hands were sawed off.
Interesting concept I must say.
+1 for Win 3.1. Is MS paying you? :p
I had a lot of fun, even though I couldn't get how to set a new city as a checkpoint. Anyway, nicely done. :)
Very nice one. I found it a bit too hard, but other than that, very nice game.
It reminds me in a way of my game :)
Very nice. It took me a while to realize how to target enemies, but I really had fun.
Keep up the good work.
Nice graphics and music. Really liked it. I just hoped there was more gameplay.
Keep up the good work.
Nicely done. Cool production.
Very original. Well done.
I don't like games with too simplified controls, but this one was surprisingly - very fun. :) Keep up the good work.
Very nicely done.
I don't think they give them food during the match, but this was fun. :) Nice theme application.
What I always find problematic in games like these is that the part of the screen you need to watch closely is too far from the action. That way you miss all the action because you are too concentrated on being efficient in the "minigame". It would be better if the letter line was in the middle of the screen.
Other than that, everything is great :)
Rotation should be a bit more responsive and a bit faster, but the concept is nice.
While not all that original, I found it very tense at times. :) Well done.
Very nice concept. Not really the fan of "soul"-y games, but this is a very nice production.
Interesting concept. But my controller didn't work with back buttons (rotate).
This seems very interesting, but I have no idea how to play. I was trying to understand the math behind it but with no success. Explanation is needed. But I see great potential in this. Never saw something like that.
Definitely one of the best.
Well done!
Maybe it's a bit too frantic for my taste. I found it hard to decide whether waiting time is more relevant than the health. However, it was a very nice experience.
You should definitely try and expand on this idea.
Cool game.
I also implemented randomness in puzzles in my game.
Makes you wanna play again, for that two seconds better score :)
Good one, a little bit slow to progress, but very addictive. I like variants of defense games.
It took me about three explosions before I realized I am not to touch the walls with the circle in that puzzle.
Nice touch integrating mini-games into a bigger picture.
If you like puzzle games, you can maybe try mine?
Too bad it's that short...
On a side note, jumping seems a bit slow, as if the gravity is very low. Not a big issue, but it would feel more real if the jump lasted less.
Very nice graphics, has a nice feel to it.
Here are the (obvious) possible improvements: [1] Add some visual cue as to how much health remains. [2] Some kind of scoring system. [3] A little longer room, seems it switches too often for my taste.
Keep up the good work.
Very beautiful art. Well done!
Btw. I noticed that a music theme ends up too abruptly and a new one starts. While this happens on a story change (so it's thematically correct), the feel is too unnatural. Maybe prolong the fade-out/fade-in time? Don't know.
Other than that, nice novel. :)
I hoped it would progress in some way, like two lights, or upgrades on the rat (speed, etc).
Also, I noticed that the colliders are somewhat messy. I kept getting stuck on certain objects. Cost me my life.
Anyway, nice entry. Well done.
Nothing new, but still very nicely executed.
I really liked that longer shots yield more points, but I guess the difference should be slightly bigger.
Even though from close up the bugs are simply two "pebbles", from far away, they look very realistic. :)
The moment I read "Art." on the wall, I lost it. Very nice touch.
I found myself in your game, there, standing in the corner.
Very nice idea. Well done!
Very smooth production.
I found it hard to play (some lag maybe?), and also it's not clear what to let in and what not.
However, a very nice entry.
What I really like in this small game is the fact that you loose your weapon after shooting. That makes you time your shots wisely. This could turn into a great game.
Did it say five minutes and then give me 20? :)
Nice entry.
Too much like stanley. Even the narrator. However, it has much potential, just stray away from the Stanley story and you'll be fine. Visuals are great. I just noticed a small gap between chair and the floor (visible in detached shadow) in the Room 9 while you wait for the chair to enter the fireplace.
All in all, it's a really nice project.
Ah, great... I'm gonna dream about my severed head for days now... ;)
Maybe too noir morbid for my taste, but I like the style.
Cool game, I'm not too good in such games cause I get frustrated too quickly, but this one is not that hard.
Well done. Smooth.
It was confusing at first, but I got it. :)
Nice game. I like low poly graphics style.
Well done.
Thanks for feedback on my entry. The game looks polished, but I was hoping for a bit more/longer puzzles. Took me a few minutes to solve it.
Well done.
Nice entry. I liked that you couldn't change direction mid-air with the wheel (some physics reality). I get frustrated easily with such games if I get stuck on the same level, but it's not made too hard, so it's ok.
Very well done.
At one time, I was able to pass through the walls. I don't know if that's a bug, but I guess it is.
Other than that, it's a very nice entry.
Very cool.
Had a blast.
Although, too many blue jellies :)
Cool concept. However, I don't get some skills. Cleave should hit adjacent enemies, however sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
What I like about this game is that you need to make a choice every time you start the room.
Very nice idea.
But please do not use X/Z combination. Some keyboard layouts do not have those keys next to each other.
Of course. Why would an accountant like a desk with a calculator. He came there for vacation, not to work.
Cool game.
This escalated quickly. :)
It was too heavy for my graphics card. I had to lower the rez.
All in all, nice idea.
Shut up and take my money. :)
Has very nice feel to it.
Cool. :)
Some UI would be nice, so that you can track what is happening.. But I don't know what factors are in play, so I can't say more.
All in all, very nicely done.
Keep up the good work.
Not bad for an unfinished game :)
I wasn't able to start a fire. Don't know what I was supposed to do.
Music is great. And inventory is smooth.
If you had more time, this would've been a very nice entry.
Keep up the good work.
Is this a game? :)
Not different than those idle games. The same amount of clicking.
On the sidenote, the art part of the game is great :)
I was expecting to see some ending depending on my choices, but I guess that the end to the sheer greed of "my kids" was enough of a reward :)
Thank you. I've fixed this now.
The mouse sensitivity is a little bit too low, but it's one of the most well executed games this LD. :) Well done.
I don't slay dragons for a living, so I was not sure what to give for that, but this eez a kul concaept. :P
Maybe the time window is too small. If you don't have a CTS already, you're gonna get one :)
All in all, a very nice entry.
I found the game to be very random at first. Too much reading required I guess. But it's cool nonetheless.
I lost my red square on start after resetting. Cool idea. I liked the fact that you first create a pattern and then play it. Good work.
Maybe jumping is a bit wonky.
The game is great, but I have found frustrating the fact that I got only one movie room, but all of the people (about 4-5 of them) wanted to go there at the same time.
Maybe there was no time for balancing but that's the only thing that was bad for me. Probably everything is random without constraints.
Other than that, the game has potential to become huge. Don't leave it. Expand on it. Publish it.
Well done.
I'm gonna return to this one to find all rooms. It's hard. And I thought my game was hard (also a puzzle game).
Got yellow and blue.
Numbazzz! Well done!
I missed by a second. :(
Very addictive.
Not bad a game. The only issue I encountered is that the movement is sometimes glitchy when you run next to obstacles. You get stuck or slowed down.
With a few different weapons and maybe upgrades, it could be a game worth of publishing.
Well done!
Great game, but I find it too hard.
As soon as I open the windows, I get shot. The delay after pressing E is too large, IMO.
However, it's great and very polished game.
Well done!
It's not only fun, it's also educational :)
This reminds me of Factorio.
Well done!
I like puzzle games. (I made one myself for this LD)
Pretty much the same as oelsons commented. The controls are difficult. Constant need to switch from mouse to keyboard.
Nice touch with saving progress on "don't quit". I thought you prevented game exit so I clicked ALT+F4. The game ended and I was staring 5 seconds waiting for something to happen. Then I said to myself: "I'm gonna give this game one more shot. Maybe it will not exit if I click the X button (to close it)." And then all of a sudden, the game was in another state, continuing the puzzle. Cool.
Well done with this entry.
I have no other words but WOW!. I reached the broken machine, but I can't play today anymore.
But I'm sure to play in a day or two. I wanna find out the ending.
Well done!
(I had some problems with performance on that last broken machine thing when I used the shut-later). Maybe wanna check it?
@OccultOne yeah, it came out too complex. I have plans to simplify it in another iteration because I think it has potential. Would you mind if I reached out to you with the new version when I do it?
@coleslaughter I plan to simplify this game by removing clutter from the UI and moving to a 1D circular track in one dimension instead of 2D field. Would you mind if I contact you to try it when there's a demo? I promise,I'll even make a tutorial :)
@sgadrat there is a limit of 1000 cycles, and a bug that sometimes prevent the machine from moving. However, your program is incorrect. If you have only these 3 transitions it will always fire the first one because it fires the first transition that satisfies. Which is of course bad on my side cause I didn't have enough time to implement reordering so you have to plan transitions ahead of time.
@pietptr Probably not at the moment. Especially since I plan to keep working on it and perhaps publish it. However, I am willing to answer any questions you might have, if I can be of any help.
Thank you sincerely for your interest. :)
You are insane. I. N. S. A. N. E. :)
I can't play it obviously, but it seems great nonetheless.
It must have been interesting 48 hours.
Well done.
I must say I like everything except one thing.
When I die, the "retry" takes too long (camera should hone in on the llama more quickly). Other than that, I have no words.
I especially found interesting the duality of the movement - llama moving around on its own and tile movement that felt like playing those sliding puzzles as a kid.
Very well done!
Nice entry. Although I took me 17 turns to realize that I can move the explorer with keyboard.
It would be great if you could play full-screen and that mouse point shows exactly where I build, but those are small nuisances.
Well done.
If I had two of the same weapons, I'd get no benefit because I'm still choosing to fire with one, so it's all the same. Or maybe the chance to hit changes if you have more of them? I don't know.
I usually like games like this - where you have to choose between a few options each turn and see the "choice sequence consequence". :)
Cardboard style graphics is a cool touch.
Not completely finished, but still, well done!
This one is the best I've played this LD. Very well executed. Very similar to something I tried a few LDs ago, but I failed to complete it (let alone balance it).
The only issue I had (and I don't know if that's intentional) is that after a while my quarries and woodcutters stopped working (I guess resource depletion), however I didn't receive the workers back. Was that intentional?
Very nice entry.
I would rather walk with keys than with mouse, because with keys, movement direction is absolute. With mouse, when I wrap around the room, I appear at a point where the angle to the mouse is now different so it changes the movement direction.
Other than that, levels progress nicely, graphics and music are great. Really well done!
One of the best entries this LD. Really. Sorry, I can't write my comment, gotta play this game some more. :)
It plays slow but it's rather detailed. More intuitive UI would help, but it's good nonetheless. Well done and good luck.
This game is too hard for me. As others have said, there's no way to know how fast I'm moving and how far I am from the next planet.
Zoom out a little and it will be nice. It needs balancing, but the idea is great and gameplay is fun. Just too hard.
Well done and good luck.
Interesting take, but it needs more work.
One thing that felt wrong is that you could take stones and trees even when not near them. Also, the build menu was jumping all around, making me build the wrong building at times. Also, I didn't get how to use any of the buildings, or what was the benefit of them. This way I was not compelled to build them at all. Are you becoming stronger with them?
All in all, for a 72 hours Jam, it came out nice. With a little more work, it would be rather fun.
(Btw, I had no problem with performance on desktop win)
Oops. Deadlock.
The point of this game is: "you should've listened to your wife."
Well done. It's rather linear, but it tells the story great. And I really liked the puzzle with walls, stones and pressure plates.
You did a really great job.
Totally cool graphics. Well done!
The levels are great, it's just that a smaller pause between steps would be better so it feels more fluid.
Also, I thought not to rate humor as there is none, but when I slid the dead guy around it was hillarious so I changed my mind :) I guess you forgot to prevent movement when dead, but this became an emergent play
Good luck!
Cool game.
However, after flooding the planet and then made it hollow, I was stuck with a ring of water and a lot of zombies.
At the end I thought: "what was this I just played?" And yet I was compelled to try once more
Technically, nice job. At times, it felt a little sluggish (cards whirling around), but otherwise it worked great.
Very well done.
btw. there's nothing wrong with being vegan
Cool. I've tried something similar a few LDs ago.
One thing is not described clearly enough - that you can have two buildings on the same tile (one modifier and one production).
Another thing I didn't understand is why an enemy ship did not attack me. When I destroyed it, another one came after a few trading ones and that did attack. Why didn't the first attack?
Also, what can I do with trading ships?
The game itself is fun and with a few tweaks it would be even better.
p.s. ships cover the date.
Cool shooter. I just didn't get the difference between bright virus cells and grayed out ones. Are they inert, waiting to be activated? And why can't I shoot them?
Also, I failed to get what does the Enlarge powerup do. It's not clear. I get bigger, but how does that influence me in a positive way? It simply gets harder to avoid viruses.
All in all, very nice idea - body cells. Interesting.
After a minute the game felt empty. There was simply no challenge. Also the music is too repetitive.
However, the 3D models are cool. The shark's teeth look scary.
Good luck.
This one is cool. I find it a little bit hard, but still a good game. I am too bad at firing my octopus. It always misses the barrel.
UI icons are cool, but it's a little bit unintuitive. It would be great if next to the cost it says which of the resources I lack to build a building.
Otherwise, a very nice entry.
So that's how people end up floating in space. Misaligned launches. Cool. I had a similar idea for a previous LD, didn't do it though.
At one time, I launched so hard that my plane exited the play view. I could here sounds of it launching, but there was nothing on the screen.
Finally, I can destroy everything in a mario-like world. It felt great. Not challenging, but still great. Thank you for this experience.
This got hectic in a few seconds. One yellow orb and there goes the whole game. :) Nicely done. I love colorful games.
The only problem I had is that things happen to quick and there are so many colorful particles on the screenso that dangerous red squares don't stand out so I often ended up picking them.
For a 48 hour game, it's rather fun.
This is a very nice entry. Especially for the Compo. I haven't played it at all, but I watched the video and then recommended it to my wife. Then I watched her play it for some 20 minutes. It was a nice experience even to only watch. Gonna try it myself to see in how many days I can reach the diamond.
The only issue I saw is that it's sometimes difficult to select exactly the one tile you want. Also the placement is difficult when you want to place it diagonally from your position. Other than that, it's very enjoyable.
Wrapping around is a cool "look-i-feel-and-i'm-not-dead" mechanic for a game like this one. Dying and respawning would, IMO, be frustrating.
All in all, well done.
I had an idea for a game like that :)
It felt a little too slow for me, but maybe I just didn't have enough time at the moment.
In-game tutorial would be nice, but it's ok even with the tutorial image.
I wish the planet was a bit larger and that more different things could be built, but I guess 72 hours is not large enough timeframe for my wishes :)
Well done!
Wow. How did you manage to squeeze 18 pages of manual into your Jam?!? How? :)
I've played Shenzen before, it feels similar.
As a comp. sci. who once made an C->ARM compiler and then an interpreter (for a small subset of ARM assembly), I appreciate your effort very much.
At first I had no idea how to move, but in the end, I just needed to "Read the manual"!
Can't write anything else because I have 11 pages more to read :)
Well done, guys. Well done!
I always wanted to something like this - controlling the boundaries of an object. Never managed to do that.
You made a nice ambient, music really relaxes. I just felt that dragging was a bit unresponsive, but I guess it would be too easy. Also I was expecting those inner bubbles to do something. Didn't seem to, though.
However, it's a well executed game. Good luck.
Cool. It was a nice experience. Felt really fluid. Then I came here to make this comment. Then I read other comments and then I realized that the world deflates. Now I have to play again.
(playing...)
Nice. But I die before it deflates a lot. I'm not good at these kind of games (My record is 01:21).
Btw. it would be better to use [ICO Sphere instead of UV sphere](http://blenderbasics.com/images/2015/04/9781119039532_fg1608.png), but if you've generated the mesh programatically, then it's definitely easier to make UV spheres.
Either way, nice game.
Cool concept. I think more games need multiplay. This is well executed.
The only thing I didn't get is what the point is of having many cells of your color. It seemed to me that the only important thing is eating. So it was the winning strategy for me.
Well done.
Cool. Was the other guy's ship there all the time? Cause I surely didn't see it.
Cool graphics. Never saw that detailed game in Blender.
Well done.
Wow. This is totally cool. Some levels were even downright hard. Graphics are great, flow too.
The only "negative" thing I can say is that it would be better if more of the map was visible at one time. It's hard to plan on some levels, and as you made it, every tile counts.
Well done! This one is really great.
Your graphics look great! Well done.
Hi, not something completely new, but fun nonetheless. However, I found it too difficult. I barely moved from the second stage. Too many asteroids which I should avoid. I don't know if this amount of inertia is intended, but I had difficulty controlling the planet. Dashing helped a bit, but since asteroids emerge randomly, there is no way to know if I'm dashing in the direction of yet another wave of things I should avoid.
In this state, doesn't have much replayability, but games like these are always good candidates for upgrades (which make things easier). So, for example, you could add a screen to choose upgrades after you reach another stage.
It has potential, but must be worked on. :)
For 72 hours, it's nice :)
It was hard to make something that sounded good, but after a lot of fiddling I managed to make a nice sample.
Kudos for the idea. I liked it very much.
The game feels slow at first, then I tried the AddMoney to make myself rich. Then I spawned lots of tigers. Game over.
Joking aside, I like this game a lot, even though it's unfinished. You asked for improvement/future advice, so here goes:
- Make terrain larger (not by a large margin, but with 20+ animals it already feels a little cramped) - Make behaviors. For example, the boar never ran from tigers. This felt unnatural. Yeah, I know that steaks fall from the sky and that all the tigers are full, but I supposed tiger's teeth are still tiger's teeth :) So, make them fear one another. - Make them reproduce (maybe this is already implemented with a large enough population, but I haven't noticed) if they encounter eachother while not hungry or something.
I guess that's something I'd like to see in a game like this. Other than that I'm impressed with games made in Javascript :) It would be interesting to look at the code :)
Good luck.
You did a nice job here. I wish there was some tree-cutting animations, like falling tree or something instead of disappearing, but ok. And I was a little bit confused about how to move.
All in all, well done! Nice effort.
Note: It lagged a bit on my PC (not a high-end PC).
Since I've always pondered how to make 3d water flow, this impressed me. I really liked it, even though it fails at times (stucks or doesn't flow anywhere). Levels feel unfinished and with very obvious solutions, but the mechanics leave room for improvement.
The idea has potential, so I guess, it was the timeframe of the Jam that was the problem :)
If you plan on developing it further, feel free to send a screenie. I'd be interested to see where it goes from here. You can reach me at [@KaiseanDev](https://twitter.com/KaiseanDev).
Well done and good luck!
The end is great. :)
The thing I really liked is that you don't see far so you really have to memorize the way if you get stuck. However, the indication helps too much and the maze is not too large and complex, so it doesn't have an effect I would like it to. However, with a few tweaks it could be transformed into a very fun game.
Graphics are very nice. :)
Well done!
I was tempted to auto-hotkey clicks to reach even more than 10 CPS, but hey, it's Ludum Dare, not hacking championship.
Other than giving a good old carpal tunnel syndrome, the game itself is fun to play, and the graphics are very clean and great.
Well done.
The game is great, however I wasn't able to change the keyboard layout so that x, c and z buttons are next to each other (I'm using QUERTZ layout). So it was rather difficult to get used to keys...
Other than that, I found no issues and the gameplay itself is very pleasant. Ambient music makes the mood very dreamy :) Levels progress very naturally, which I really liked.
I haven't played many entries this LD, but this one is the best for now. Well done!
I was playing because of the music. The way you fade out/in music depending on the ratio of elements is extraordinary. I am amazed.
Very well done.
The only thing I found unintuitive is the relative speed of different technologies. There are two columns of technologies and there's no hints as to how the two relate. I just used the left column (messenger, horse, train, planes, teleports).
Great game. I hope you win in AUDIO. :)
Nice idea. I found it harder than I first thought. You have to plan ahead and it gives a nice vibe to the game.
Well done and good luck!
Very nice one. The ending was cool. I felt the fear of the "miners"... The atmosphere is really great.
This game is very well executed.
I sometimes managed to separate all monster parts when screaming or hitting, but it didn't feel too awkward. :)
Well done!
This is the best game I've played this LD. I like the graphics style very very much. Keep up the good work. Do you do this for a living? :)
@johnnyo Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunatelly, score of 850 was a bug. It was not updating the UI, the 850 was a placeholder text. Now it works if you are up for another try :)
Yeah, RNG is not the best, however if that happens at the beginning, you can still drop the unwanted ones in the bin. Since it's the beginning the score drain will not affect you much.
@antoined73, The brown (stinky) must have at least one space next to it, and the green one is sticky, meaning that you can pick it up only if it has no neighbours next to it (except maybe other sticky boxes).
Also, thanks for the feedback :)
The best death message ever: Death by shark!
Well done. There are some nice mechanics in the game. But without the tutorial they are really confusing, and seem random. Maybe you could enforce a tutorial, cause at first I didn't want it but then I was confused.
Well done!
Very nice graphics.
I am rather bad at multitasking so I am not any good at this game, but it's a nice concept. Very great potential for expanding on it.
The only thing I noticed is that the music is somewhat repetitive and that the pulling sound is rather synthethic making it annoying.
But still a great game :) Well done!
Like many already said, it gets rather dull in a while because of lack of variety. But I can see its potential. It would be good if we could stop the whole lane or something. would make things interesting.
Anyways, for a compo game, I like it a lot.
Really nice experience there.
My suggestions for improvement.
1) Fix the collider on the table so you don't fall through
2) Add at least a bit of color
3) Use better FPS controller (this stutters too much - maybe some camera is happening in Update instead of Late update)
5) Fix the start of the game - putting someting next to the start button is the most obscure action required to start the game I've ever seen.
6) Add sounds
7) Add freeze gun
8) Make $$$
9) Note that there is no 4. point
:)
Nice entry. Had fun playing it. Ping me if you update this to something greater. It will be 'uge!
Nice graphics there.
Nice game. But it should be rated PG-13. :p
Sad story, yeah.
Even though much different story, reminded me of Max Payne :)
Very nice game but controls seem a bit too unresponsive. I sometimes feel that I can't control the raft. Maybe it was intended this way because of the river current, but yeah. Also, I noticed the cats will fall out of raft too easily. Cat's can usually grapple even onto vertical surfaces, how can they just slip from the raft? :) But nevertheless, this feels very polished. Well done!
Very nice game :) I really enjoyed playing it. The take on the theme is really obvious, but too much of a negative feedback. I felt punished for optimizing the production. Nevertheless, a very nice game :)
Man those cops hit hard! :p I wasn't able to fight a good strategy for surviving past wave 2. But I am also bad at such games, so no wonder. :)
Very polished game though. :)
Now you don't have all 1s :) Man, stop worrying, this is LD.
The greatest reward is your game and all the things you've learned in the process. Your game is not bad at all. I am a tetris fan, and the only thing I lacked is the button to quickly drop the piece. Other than that, I've played it thru the end.
Just keep pushing and stop worrying about votes. Play and rate other games and you'll be fine :)
Super idea. I found a bug, which is not bad, but still. When you have like 1 more to pickup of a kind, and then you quickly press on 3 of those, before they actually fly away and reach the top icon, the remaining 2 will count toward the next goal, even when the next goal is of different kind of rabbits. It's not a big deal, but I just noticed it.
It's fun to experiment, because at first I had to think about what gadgest will yield what kind of rabbits. Well done!
This looks like a really polished game. I just think the controls are a bit confusing, because interact and accept are not the same key. I am bad at games like this but you should've seen my wife. Like she was playing Mortal Kombat.
I love puzzle games. This one made me think hard :) Well done!
I'm not fan of turn based FF style of combat, but you made my day with the jokes. Well done! :)
At times too many people is looking directly towards you so it is imposible to steal unnoticed. Other than that, the game looks cool. The way you did the menu, with the stretchy hand, I was expecting that it will be like that in-game. That would be awesome :)
Well done for a compo game! Keep up the good work.
Very nice atmospheric game. The 3rd level was just too hard for me. :) I didn't get it the first 20 seconds, but then it dawn on me.
Very nice entry! Keep up the good work.
I was very bad at this game, but the effort is really visible. :) Well done! Very nice atmosphere.
Hard hard hard! But so satisfying. Well done!
The only issue I have found with the game is that when the thief goes far, the camera doesn't follow so it's kinda harder to play in the back...
I have no idea what I just played. But still had to play it to the end. What a strange psychodelic experience.
On a side note, everything's good, but the music is a bit repetitive. Also, changing a pitch a little for the jumping sound would make things more natural, not always sounding the same. Jumping is also something that could have been improved, but other than that, interesting gameplay experience.
I've had a blast. Frustrating at times, but I persevered and finished the game. Well done! The only thing that I see that could be improved is that you give more sight to the player. Some falls were just into unknown... Other than that, great game!
On the ending screen, I ran like for 30 seconds to the right expecting an easter egg. Then I realized I'm running in place. Bad! ;)
Cheers!
I got 73000 and then I quit because it was too repetitive and no increase in difficulty. The way I played, I think I could reach any score...
But all in all, very nice idea and execution. I am not a fan of chiptunes, but for a compo game, sounds reasonable :)
Adding more colors with time would make the game ending inevitable at some point, so that's the direction I'd go.
Well done!
I like card games like these.
Great job. I wish that graphically it had more stuff, such as ships actually firing, but I know how compo is constrained, especially when you have to make an AI.
It did not take much away from the game.
One thing I really want to commend is that the game really feels balanced. Well done!
@tiffi This is a game.
How long you have to hold the button? It's up to you :) Unfortunatelly, you have to get pass the hold button to realize this.
But I must not spoil this much. Try to play some more. Or maybe you don't need to hold? But do you want to? It's up to you :)
@jestemstefan You cheater! We didn't plan for no notebooks :stuck_out_tongue:
Thanks for nice comments. We are not dads tho :) Just a married couple. But I might be a dad some day.
> After some time it clicked.
I see what you did there  @vinegarlove
@miu did you play it until the end? Because the button is not the point...
@miu thanks for clarification. It's just that I've seen some players give up and missing a lot because they were frustrated with a particular screen.
@caveman54 Hi, thanks for trying our game. I am not sure which Android version you have, but if I remember correctly, I've built it to be 6+. Other thing that might be happening is that the installation from unknown sources is forbidden in your phone. Since this is manual installation, could be it. You could try finding that option and temporarily turn it off, or install an APK installer that will allow the same for you.
In the meantime, you can try the game as HTML5 version.
We appreciate your effort.
@kuro Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunatelly, we have realized that it doesn't work/install on some android phones. We are not able to debug this on many android devices, so we are politely asking you to try the game on any other platform.
In the meantime, I will remove the android build not to confuse people anymore.
Thanks for the patience and sorry for the inconvenience.
@kuro I'm thinking about submitting it to Play Store. This way it should work on most devices. This is usually an internal/external memory or a permission issue
Thanks for the feedback and for not being toxic about it
The spikes reminded me of Prince of Persia
I had to play it twice to get to the end. At first I didn't get where I need to go so I just spent all my life on fireballs.
Anyways, I found out that sometimes the fireball does not kill an enemy even though it touches it. Some kind of bug.
But all in all, sweet little game with suspense music. The walking sound is funny, sounds like the wizard's going around in flip-flops. :)
Well done. Keep up the good work.
Spooky man! :)
An interesting concept. But I disliked the movement because I couldn't jump or just step over small obstacles... also, I'm moving too slow for the worms.
But even with those things, the game is fun. The way you have to shake off a worm off of you is a nice touch
But spooky...
Oh, now I realized, the title of the game is PERFECT!
@tinykidtoo True. Idea has some potential. But don't worry, games like these require a lot of fine tuning. And LD time is, ... well... limited.
Awesome job. It took me several attempts to realize that this game is too expensive for me  Very well done.
Nice touch with various traps that force you to take more care while traversing the level. I just didn't get why sometimes the coin does not damage an ememy when it bounces off of another enemy, and sometimes it does...
Well done! Keep up the good work.
Oh man, this was the... I mean... how to say it... AWESOME!
Just the perfect balance of everything.
It takes you about minute and half to forget that your character is just a rectangle with eyes :)
It is addictive.
Very nice thing here. I have only two comments: Most of the times after the "shop" I appear next to the wall and can't avoid hitting it. Shops sometimes have multiple of the same items (making them useless).
These are more of an improvements than criticism :)
I really enjoyed this game.
The music got a bit irritating after a while because of too hard/sharp beats, but if it was a bit softer, it'd be perfect.
Well done.
Hm... I really love the concept. But, it's too hard. It's not at all easy to avoid damage during fights. Like, I've managed to survive first 7 days thinking, it's ok, to repair the damage to the ship, I'll just cash out some. It was 285 gold!?! And I got around 60 during those 7 days. :scream:
But, with some balancing, this game would actually be one of the best games this LD, from my perspective.
It's hard. Damn hard. Pun intended. Although I don't usually like games about vampires, demons and similar, mechanics of the game are well done. Keep up the good work.
Very nice game. I've played it with ma wife. We see very little multiplayer games on LD
Two points: 1. Once you escape, the crosshair shot is too easy, the other guy has nothing to do. 2. It was not clear to me who will get stunned when the players collide.
But all in all, a nice entry. Keep up the good work.
Nice game. I dislike the underlying theme of hell, demons, blood and such, but mechanically the game is good. The only issue I've found is that jumping is sometimes derping, which caused me to fall down in the instakill fluid (whatever that was) so I had to repeat this quite a lot. But all in all, it's fun to play. Nice work.
Hm. Interesting concept. I really liked the bubble effect on camera.
The only thing that could be better done is to use separate collision box, mounted at characters legs. So that the collision between my head and other characters' feet is not considered a collision. In the current way is too hard to avoid characters...
Otherwise, nice job!
I gotta go yoink some monies! :)
Not bad, not bad  I dislike the whole devil idea, but conceptually it's nice. And it being a compo game, solid work I must say
Additionally, I reaaaaaly like the bullet trails
Keep up the good work.
Very nice game. What I really liked in comparison with other games with similar theme idea is that you could actually reduce your upgrades to recover health again. Nice mechanic.
Music is fitting as well.
Keep up the good work.
It's a fun little game. But RNG is against me... The flap takes me too little up and the distance between some mushrooms were such so that I would need at least 6 flaps to reach another one. But conceptually, nice idea.
Graphics are really nice :)
I like golf games like these. Very well done. Some levels are somewhat hard, but it's not boring to try again, so all is well.
Nice game. Keep up the good work.
For some reasons I couldn't see the textured backdrop as shown in the video. My instance of the game was really flat.
Nevertheless, once you detach yourself from graphical elements, it becomes a bit more fun.
I've noticed some bugs tho, like cattangles getting stuck in walls and similar. But that's ok. I can live with that.
The shop thingie was really confusing. It didn't say this was a shop and it refered to life as hearts even tho everything on my screen was a rectangle
But the music was good
Nice game... The controls are a bit wonky, but otherwise well done. Nice graphics as well :)
I will not write much, I will just say that you deserve to win 😊 Awesome game!
My wife  told me about this game. Really nice thing to do with family. It would be great if there was a hint that the end graphics is different depending on the damage you have taken, but it's great nonetheless.
Unlike many other games this LD, this one has a soul. A brother sacrificing himself for his brother. Nicely done
My wife mad me play this. And I am grateful  Very well executed
I had some troubles with jumping, but it's probably just me being clumsy. The game feels extremely polished, very well done! :) Keep up the good work.
@mamoniem Don't be discouraged by the toxicity of some of other developers.
While strictly speaking not a game, I don't see a reason why this should not be submitted. If somebody doesn't like it, they can always rate low. And it not being a game, I don't think the author expected to reach any great heights rank-wise. So what! LD was never about winning.
Nevertheless, this is one of the best creative experiences I've encountered recently. It's personal, it's emotional and it's really well done. The changes to the candle were so subtle that at first 15 seconds I wasn't even sure anythings actually happening. The ambient that the music creates led me to a feeling of sadness in a why-does-this-candle-have-to-die sense.
Very well done! Keep up the good work.
Yeah. The game is nice and looks awesome, but the mechanics were somewhat wonky. A single bullet would sometimes throw me across the whole screen, off the cliff. Idea is great and I can see the effort put into the game, but I guess it's the time constraints of LD that made it a bit unbalanced. But that's just a small issue. Otherwise, the game is real nice.
Ok, this has nothing to do with the theme, but it was an AMAZING experience. But it's not for impatient people  hehe
This comment is short because I need to go play Anthill some more. :)
Very well done.
Ok. Reality check. This is one of the best games. But also, extremely hard to finish without the guide. Some kind of keyboard typing (such as first letter of the word, or first few in case of ambiguity) would help tremendously. This way, it's kind of slow.
But honestly, very well done.
But it was when I drover over somebody and the dubstep started that I knew I wanna rate this game high.
In all aspects, extremely polished.
Very well done.
Very nice. But I was unable to get any trophy. I'm bad at such games. Graphics style is interesting, tho :)
I've read some of the comments. Yeah, I see why you tried to go with realism, but during my game design research over the years I've found out that it's the approximation of realism or the lack thereof is what makes the games fun. Games are not necessarily simulations so it's fine if some physical laws are broken.
The reason why games usually allow moving in the air is the precision of landing which is IRL possible because you can precisely position your legs, while in games you are actually controlling the character as a point and rely on it's bounding box to be in the right position.
Finding the right balance between totally unrealistic and completely realistic is the whole point of game design
Now about your game. The graphics are nice :) However, the fact that you can pass some levels only with a single upgrade, does not really make it a choice. It'd be great if there were more options. But it's ok.
All in all, sweet entry. The human meow sounds are awesome  Keep up the good work.
As others have pointed out, the controls are wonky and the option to invert mouse Y axis would help
Otherwise, very nice twist on the asteroids game.
Some upgrades felt a bit useless tho, so this needs some tweaking, but all in all, it's a nice entry.
Too bad it's unfinished. Could've been real nice entry.
The double jump is somewhat buggy. I couldn't consistently jump twice in a row with the same delay between jumps. Every time seems different.
Also, the sword does not seem to be necessary.
So all in all, the game has potential, but it obviously needs to get finished
But yeah, time constraints on LD, what can you do
Wow! Very well done. I never needed to make two of the potion types  but still, I managed to complete. Although, 4 customers were unhappy until I actually managed to do it.
With a bit more depth, this could easily be the speed running heaven :)
Great game for compo, keep up the good work.
I found out that I'm a workaholic. And also, I must tell you, as a vegetarian, healthy food is not that much more expensive than junk food
One of the most enjoyable games this LD. Nice job.
At first it was not obvious to me that I have to reach the right side. I understood "you have to cross it" as in cross the tiles so I was trying to find out how to activate/cross a tile. :face_palm:
Once I got it, I reached some levels.
The sound is somewhat too high-pitched for my taste.
But all in all, nice entry for a compo.
This game is a bit too dark for me, but I liked the twist in the plot. Graphics and audio is awesome. Like others already mentioned, the paralax effect is a very nice touch. Keep up the good work.
This is good. :)
However, I have two points I want to give. 1. Outcomes are somewhat unrealistic. For example, most people that win a lottery have it worse than before. They don't live 9 years longer because of that. Maybe homeless or desperately sick people, but they usually don't play lottery anyway. 2. The dice throwing felt unnatural. I could very very very easily manipulate the outcome of the dice as they just fall down and if their rotation is nice, they will just stay like this. There's no rolling of dice.
All in all, very nice job and nice ideas. I really liked the graphics style. Keep up the good work.
Had a good laugh :)
Dab. Dab dab dab.!
The stickman is awesome. Dab!
You got me with that level where the goal was just above me instead of to the right. Spent all my energy reaching it and died on my way back :/ I should've known better :stuck_out_tongue:
Keep up the good work!
Interesting concept. I found it too hard tho. I've tried several times. 6x6 I can take all the time, but for larger ones, I feel like I need to rearrange some scaffoldings to be able to move around which takes all my energy.
But I might be holding it wrong
Very well done. Keep up the good work.
As @simon-rahnasto said: Fanatic job!
Wow! one of the best ideas this LD. Very well done.
I've noticed some bugs, but nothing critical.
Also, did you know that baterries kill eachother if you align their line of fire? Made the game a lot easiser.
Nice execution, nice onboarding. My, everything's nice.
Besides balance, I think the game is awesome  Red ones are too few in my opinion.
But the game does glue you to your keyboard, that's for sure
@jordantanner Yeah, balancing is the hardest thing ever and takes a lot of playthroughs. It's especially difficult because there are many skill levels among players, so some kind of difficulty setting is usually needed. But otherwise, well done with the game
I liked this game a lot. Being an achiever, I had to go all over the place and search for all the hearts.
The tower was a bit hard at first, but I finally got it. The whole experience was really nice. Enemies being able to shoot thru the walls while you are not is a nice touch. Makes you think about positioning. I also really liked the fact that you go into a slow-mo mode while aiming and jumping.
Very well done.
Wait, they didn't change his room in 5 years? :stuck_out_tongue:
Nice game. The take on the theme is what I like. You might wanna check ours, it'll be kind of familiar :)
The sound is a bit too high pitched tho, but otherwise ok.
Keep up the good work.
One of the best jam entries. Graphics are great, music is great. The only thing I've had issues with is onboarding. I couldn't get what I need to do for quite a while. Once I did, I found a very nice game. Although a bit hard for me.
What I couldn't understand is when do the saplings appear? can I place them or I can just build them when they randomly appear. Because if that's just RNG, I've had a bad luck. All my farms appeared in one bunch and all protecting towers on completely other useless spot :/
But I really liked this one  Keep up the good work.
Very dark game :) I sold my arm and my leg. :scream: For a few bucks :scream:
I found a gun, but I was unable to shoot, is that a bug?
Otherwise, the game is fun. It'd be a bit more fun if the character would move a bit faster, otherwise all is well
Keep up the good work.
All those flashes can cause a epileptic seizure  haha
Very nice concept and well executed.
Is nice.
The only issue I've had is that the rightmost patient is not visible at all times and there are no audible cues as to when somebody is almost dying or getting too well.
If I got it correctly, the amount of money you get for the work depends on the number of patients still half-well :) If that is true, this is very nice touch.
I've had real fun playing this.
Well done guys :)
For a compo game, very well done. Seems rather polished.
The only thing I've found too limiting is limitless spawning... And I don't understand how enemies take my gold when they shoot me.
But I can work with that.
All in all, very nice entry.
I was always a fan of RNGs. The graphical feel is mixed (handdrawn terrain and fancy inventory icons)... But it's ok none the less.
I just found the game to be a bit hard... :/ And tooltips could be a bit better design so that all needed information is visible more easily. Nice job. Keep up the good work.
Very nice entry. Especially for the compo.
I've noticed one bug though, when the suit guy passed thru a first corridor in the second level, it attracted aliens from the room to the right even though there is no line of sight. And one of my stupid soldiers started shooting towards them, but into the wall :)
I mean, it was fun, but probably shouldn't happen :)
A nice soundtrack would fit nicely but I know how it is trying to squeeze the game into 48 hours :)
So keep up the good work.
I've had issues with my keyboard rollover (some arrows are not registered when holding two buttons such as A and W), so I was struggling a bit with controls. It would be great if mouse could be used for aiming.
But other than that (which is not exactly your problem), it's really a nice game.
Nice graphics and visual style.
Well done. Keep up the good work.
Very good game for a compo game :)
I liked how the money gives you too much weight. It's like that in life.
But I am not sure if it was a bug, but I couldn't buy a thing for 100c on level with red bullets... Don't know what that was supposed to be.
But all in all, this could be turned into a commercial game. Don't give up on the idea.
This is so contagious. Can't stop playing.
I'd leave a bigger comment, but I have to play Hackz Memories.
Hey, nice one. What I really liked is that you have a bit inverted take on the life economy. Instead of starting with life and losing it to gain benefits, you increase your life to add challenges. Very nice idea  Keep up the good work.
Man, this has potential. But it's too short. I like how it makes you quickly think whether it makes sense to buy an apple or to sell it to the first one or wait for better offer. Nice touch.
With a bit more diversity, it'd be even better. Keep up the good work.
Neat. I like it. If you had some more time to make the terrain have some kind of texture, it'd be even more immersive.
But in any case, I found it kind of hard to balance between the sleep and food. Also, it felt like the enemies are taking your food too quickly...
But very nice for a compo game.
Can't totally see the theme here, but none the less, this game is very very nice. I am a fan of tower defense games, so this one is just by my heart... :)
Very well done. The only thing that needs balancing is the scale of things... unless that was completely intentional
At first I was confused how to win... like, there's 3 of us and 5 of them... I've played a bit, confused with controls a bit. I'm more used to W/Up being forward, not absolutely up. But that's ok, just needed to adjust. So after several minutes, I rated the game.
Then I played once more to get all 5 of them. I've done it with 2 of my robots. And when it showed me the message I thought it's done. But then the yellow robot appeared. I thought: this must be a bug, the game is finished. Then I decided to kill it. It was when the message changed that I went and increase your overall rating by 0.5 stars.
Well done.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah man... It's tooooo short. Conceptually nothing new, but it's very fun nonetheless.
Graphics are awesome. :) Very well done. Especially coins' direction being a bit randomized.
Just has a really great feeling.
I usually really like rhythm games, mostly for cool beats. This one has really nice soothing music. I really liked it. The down arrow for the bottom line is a bit confusing as it feels like it's also coming from the side and I instinctively want to press the left/right arrows... but after some time I got used to it.
In any case, the graphics and story seem a bit rushed, but not too much can be done in 3 days
Btw, make a soundtrack out of this
Niiiiiiiice. I really enjoyed it. 7:48 is my score. I can't really find anything wrong with the game.
Maybe just that some of the later levels felt a bit easier than one of the previous ones, but that's probably very dependent on the player.
Also, removing the current state from the window title would be better so that the fadeout creates pressure for the player.
In any case, well done. Nice game.
@neithernathan thanks for playing. And while you don't need to rate us any differently, you may be interested in trying an updated/improved version. It has everything better. Less bugs, more ingame help, instead of walls of texts
@team-on @trigueiro thanks guys for the positive comments
If you liked the game, and you could spare some more time, we would greatly appreciate it if you tried the updated version (which fixes lots of bugs, balances the game and provides better ingame help) and give us more feedback on how we could improve it even further. Cause we are considering moving the game forward, after the jam and we need all the advice we can get.
@thebreakfast thanks for the reply. You are totally right. The death happens suddenly without any warnings if you are not careful enough. A warning would definitely improve the experience
Thanks for playing and leaving useful feedback.
@zguba yeah, that was a bug. Thanks for taking time to explain it.
We fixed it in an update, along with other goodies. So if you liked the game maybe you could give the update a go (independent of the rating) and share with us more of your thoughts.
Thanks for playing and rating. Good luck to you.
@flash22 Unfortunatelly we managed to put in the in-game help only after the jam, so if you liked the game and are willing to play an improved version, there's a link to the updated/improved version as well. Don't change the rating, but let us know if you play it again and you have more feedback for us :)
@madbarron Thanks for playing and providing useful feedback. Indeed, the purple resource should repair the decay (both cracked existing tiles as well as empty holes), but we've only managed to properly implement the feature in the updated version. I assume you have played (and rated) the original submission.
The main difference between the turns and the actions is that the universe updates on each turn (not action). So, during a turn, every planet has fixed resources and no tiles will collapse. When the turn is over, the universe will update (tiles will crack and eventually collapse, the inventories of the planets refresh). But I agree that this could be a bit confusing for the player and maybe makes sense to conflate the two in the same thing.
If you are willing to give it another try (without changing the rating), feel free to play the updated version. It is much much better and has in-game help. If you do, we'd appreciate any advice you are willing to give
And also, you should know that @joe40001  actually decided to commit a suicide at exactly 10000. Otherwise I have no idea when he'd actually fail.
@fabula-rasa thanks for playing. We are aware of many bugs, most of which we fixed afterwards. Thanks for playing and rating
@joe40001 is this video going to disappear in a week or so? You said it's there for 2 weeks during the stream.
Interesting idea, but it could be polished a bit.
The movement is somewhat weird to me cause I'm used to relative direction movement, and this one is absolute, but nothing that I wasn't able to get used to.
I think the core is too volatile for later levels. If you find yourself in the wrong place at the start of the level, while you still don't know where's what, you are basically done. That with having to absorb quite a lot of damage to power up the core again.
The sound effects feel a bit unnatural tho, but it's a jam game, so I can endure it
But beside some balancing issues and a bit wonky sound, I'd say it's a pretty nice game.
Niiiiiiice. Too bad there's no AI, but I know it's not really that easy to make (it's actually extremely hard). :)
Keep up the good work.
Hey, nice entry.
The jumping is a bit clunky at times and I was sad that I had to repeat stage 1 if I died on stage 2, which made no sense to me. But otherwise, nicely done game.
Keep up the good work.
75 / 4:01
At first the phrases come too slow, then it's suddenly too fast. A bit flattening of the curve would be better.
I usually like typing games (as I'm a fast touch-typer), but this was simply too random.
Not saying it wasn't fun tho
It'd be even better if it had a bit of change in the gameplay. Not just simply typing this out, but something else to happen on the screen, some other type of typing puzzle... such as a short quick burst of single letter items or syllables... those things. something to make it spicier.
But in any case, nice job.
Nice take on the theme. The game is really simple, but the collision box is way too precise... And I don't think a bird would pop my balloon if it just grazed it with its wing a bit.
But, I liked the mechanics of dragging the balloon.
It'd be great if you were able to actually draw lines between the parts so that it doesn't look as if the rope is broken into pieces, but I know it's hard to fit everything in this small time frame.
Some of the birds are too fast and just appear out of nowhere and the wind changes too suddenly.
Other than that, well done and keep up the good work.
I especially like these kinds of games, and this one was executed very well. Especially for the compo game.
Now, I always try to find some ways to improve and will try to share my thoughts with you (as a result of a several attempts to play).
I don't really understand how my city can lift off. At certain point I've exceeded the weight with the lift, but nothing happened so I am not sure if I got something wrong, so this goal is not clearly communicated.
The other thing I've noticed is that you are not checking whether a coal mine is in the darkness and show it's capacity even when it is. I think no popups should show for the coal that is in the darkness.
The last thing is that I really wasn't sure how to put more coal into the city. I've put several of those nodes that put stuff into the city and the influx was so slow I wasn't sure if it was working properly.
But other than those small points, I really enjoyed this game.
Keep up the good work.
oh, btw. You can change the links to end with `dl=1` instead of `dl=0` so that the automatic download is initiated when clicking on the link.
Wow. This is graphically one of the best entries this LD. Wow! Just wow!
The only thing that bothered me a bit is the amount of times I've had to open the book to see what's what. But other than that, very nice game.
Didn't get the theme here, but I still enjoyed this game.
This reminded me a bit of the Carcassonne tabletop game.
The gameplay is fluid, so good job on that. I'd just show a bit more pieces in the future. It's very hard to optimize anything without having at least a bit more insight in what's coming in the future.
I've read some of the comments and can agree with most of them. More feedback on whether the key was pressed at the same time. Also, note that not all keyboards can (as the matter of fact, the most of the non-mechanic ones) emit 6 characters at the same time. Just the way keyboards are done hardware-wise.
The music is a bit raw (I crave harmony in music, which is a bit lacking in this kind of computer synthesized music), but it's not unexpected for compo as it takes time to create something more advanced.
Skill-curve... hm... the easiest one was too boring, the fastest was too fast for me, so I guess everyone can have the game match their own skill level.
In any case, nice entry and good luck. Keep up the good work.
Wow. This game causes sooooo much "aaaaaaaaaw"s.
Very effective in conveying certain emotions.
I finished the game without the guy dying and then I saw: CPRs.
You know I just HAD to start over and let it die so I can CPR him.
In any case, as a dog lover, I APPROVE THIS GAME!
This game has very little gameplay, but it feels like a good basis for some nice mechanics. I've read your post about wanting to turn this into a commercial game. Good luck.
In any case, well done with this work. Despite not a lot of gameplay, everything seems rather polished. Keep up the good work.
An interesting entry. A bit dark tho
The font seems a bit unreadable for some characters, and the farming is not really straight forward, but otherwise, very nice job.
Keep up the good work.
An interesting game. I like well polished 3d games. And this is impressive even more for a compo game.
I've played only the web version and I don't know if that was a bug, but I wasn't really able to position the blue ones the way I wanted. It behaved like skipping certain tiles  I have no idea what gives.
But, very well done. Keep up the good work.
Oh, man. You reminded me of the university times.
I like playing with circuits.
Cool idea.
What is not really explained/defined well (IMO) is the fact that you can connect two wires to the same input pin. What is the pin value if two different signals come onto the pin? I guess with some experimentation, one can work it out.
Also, it'd be great if you knew when you passed the level without actually going back to check.
Other than that, I enjoyed fiddling around with this :)
keep up the good work.
I think I saved the world from shit. And got exactly $10000 doing so.
toiletpaper.png
Very fun game. Too bad you haven't played more games so that this game'd get more ratings. This game reminded me a bit of a game we've made several LDs ago.
The beginning is somewhat slow with only one toilet, but once you upgrade to bamboo, it all goes quite faster.
Nice graphics as well. Keep up the good work.
However, I see that you have updated the game a few days after the deadline and without any note on what you have changed, so please always do explain what has been updated. Otherwise, it's not fair to people that did actually finish the game before the deadline.
Hm... what did I just play?
I usually avoid occult topics but I gave this game a try.
It's well made. Too bad there's no sound.
The only thing is that it feels like the decisions are not really making sense, for me it was just a guess work. Ok, everyone is worse of after eating the fruit several times, but it was very hard for me to make meaningful decisions. So, I've tried it a few times with different choices and I can see that there are quite a lot of paths, but I just couldn't survive all 30 days...
I guess I'm just not a cultist person. Keep up the good work.
I liked this very very much.
The only thing I am still confused about is how do I know what level of virulence will attack me next? I can't plan properly without knowing that.
Maybe that was a design decision, but it causes sudden game overs, which can get frustrating.
Too bad there's no sound, it would really make a difference.
Otherwise, well done with the graphics! The style is really effective.
I felt like the game is too easy... I've just put all my vehicles, except the big one, towards the place where the enemies were coming from. They lasted for quite a while...
In any case, this has a potential to become something, so keep working on it  If you got time, that is.
Nice little game. Interesting but IMO too easy. You just juggle things around until you find which 4 they are and then just swap them until it's 100%. So there's no real challenge, more like just work.
However, if you'd introduce some time limits, or certain requirements changing over time, that'd require a bit more thought. Or if you'd just give some other kind of hint on how close you are to the real solution, and not exact number of items that are correct and the chance of it surviving.
You should've left the player with the option to actually open the box even tho it's not 100%. Then just apply the chance. :) Some would find a dead cat, others a live one.
In any case, nice work. Well done.
Nice. At first it felt like I was bored, but then the next levels got more interesting. I guess I just didn't know what to expect.
Very nice entry, especially for the PICO8.
Really really nice game. It took me two tries to win. I just never imagined a guy would do a jam with his mom and a favorite zombie, but thematically, it's really cool. Zombie wanting to eat much and the lazy guy wanting to sleep much.
Graphically very attractive.
The only thing I'd notice is that just stretching and expanding the graphics to achieve some kind of animation looked weird. When the game starts, it doesn't really matter as you're just looking at the progress bars, but yeah. That's basically the only critic I'd give.
Keep up the good work.
Very nice graphics, but there's not much in terms of gameplay.
Some very simple improvements would be nice: punish players for pressing the wrong buttons. Change buttons to press more often, change them to various characters. Hm... I think I'm turning your game into a typing game.
In any case, well done.
Also, my hands hurt now
I have no idea how my wife  rated this game, but I can second everything that she wrote. Very nice idea.
The jumping was a tad clunky and one player would sometimes prevent other from getting to the platform, but it creates more of a fun moment than a frustration.
Keep up the good work.
Very nice entry, but I found the controls very frustrating. It's not really intuitive in comparison to other similar games on market, especially when it comes to the wall jump.
Having said that, I am aware that getting movement right in such kind of games is VERY hard, so it's understandable that you couldn't make it perfect in time.
Still, the game is very much playable, but I simply found it too hard. I've reached the section where there's green goo to jump over and no matter how hard I tried, I failed somewhere on that level.
What I do want to commend is the fact that there's almost no wait time from the moment you die to the moment you can try again. That's how it should be!
Well done.
Quite a lot of AV software is marking your exe as a malware. Unfortunatelly, I won't install it. If there's a HTML5 version in the future, feel free to ping me about it.

Wow... Nice.
I couldn't get past the software licence, it all happened too quickly.
But I gotta say, this is one of the best ideas this LD.
Very well done.
Niiiiiiiice... Very cool idea.
The UI is a bit confusing and it takes a while of experimentation to understand what's going on, but once you get it it works :)
It's also hard to remember which type of a bee is good against with other bug, so this could be a bit more obvious.
Other than that, really nice. Some sound would be nice, but I guess you just ran out of time :)
Keep up the good work.
Very nice mood to the game. Once you start a fire I've played for a bit, but it seemed that there's not much of gameplay after that. Which is totally fine for a compo game, I was just hoping I'll be able to fight some enemies or make sure the fire doesn't get put out by rain or those kinds of things.
I really liked the graphics of the game. With some more things to do, this game has a potential to be really good.
Keep up the good work.
I am a fan of GoL, well... all automata for that matter. And I've very seldom seen the simulation turned into a real game.
This works.
Some levels were too hard for me so I've had to spend a bit more time, but a really nice concept.
Well done! Keep up the good work.
Nice game for a compo, but I found it too hard. It wasn't really obvious how the egg behaves with your position relative to it.
If this part was a bit better, it'd be one great game.
The music is a bit repetitive though.
But seriously, for a compo game, well done!
Nice game, but it really could use some balancing. To reach the first 500 hundred to by a hoe takes ages with only 4 spots. Also, there's a bug that doesn't reset the amount of stuff in your inventory after you drop off the food there.
The graphical style is really coherent and very pleasing.
With just a bit of tweaking the gameplay, the game would be really awesome :)
Yes. Very nice.
Literally I'd change only two things. Throwing the egg feels unpredictable. I never know where it's gonna land, especially for levels where you need to throw it to a platform above yourself. It's weird and it cost me several replays. The other thing being forced to replay all levels when dying on any.
Other than that, one of the best entries I've played this LD.
Keep up the good work.
Too dark for my taste, but well polished. And the only issue I've had is that the people passing by are doing it randomly...
otherwise, nice game. Keep up the good work.
Hey, nice game for the compo.
The levels are a bit obvious so there's no real challenge there, but with some additional work put into it and a few more different entities to interact with, it could be improved a lot.
Also, a bit less waiting between placing the bomb or chain reaction on the explosives would create a more panic like feeling. I felt like I'm waiting for too long just doing nothing, waiting for the explosions to do their thing.
And too bad there's no sound  Probably just out of time, ha?
In any case, well done
@mantaraytv-games yeah... A feeling I'm too familiar with.
Very nice game. At some point the level became mind boggling, but still not too hard  The only thing I'd suggest to improve is give a hint on how many levels there are
Another improvement is the change to a square. Currently, you center the square around the current position of a girl and then snap the rectangle to the right space afterwards. Much nicer effect would be if you synchronized these two animations: shapeshift into square and move this whole animation towards the final position. It would feel so organic. It's not that bad this way either, but that one piece would really shine.
Next point I want to suggest is to animate the girls a bit. They are animated during the walk, but having an idle animation for the girls would be important than for the doors (although I appreciate the animation on the doors as a cue to where the exit is, which is a good UX).
The last thing that could be improved is jumping. It feels somewhat clunky, but I've tried such things and I know these things are hard to do right...
All in all, very nice job here. Keep up the good work.
Hey, nice little game. Since it's a compo game, I guess, there was no time for some character animations, that would really go a long way.
Keep up the good work.
I really like the graphics style. I also like when chess is used for cool ideas.
One thing I've noticed is that the rook seems to be more powerful than the queen, because it shoots in the straight line, and even quite fast. Considering that you can trivially and cheaply cause the poker chips to go in straight line, it's a win win. It's much harder to make the queen useful. Unless the queen actually hits harder as well, but that I couldn't really check without any damage indicators.
Another thing that could be improved is the speed up button. This is nowadays de facto standard in TD games and it'd be really useful in this one as well. But it's not that much of an issue for game jam.
All in all, I really like this entry, and particularly for the compo.
Well done!
Nice feel to the game. Especially for a compo game.
Things that could be improved:
* Fix the time counter. It counts seconds to 100 instead of to 60. * Different enemies (maybe even ranged ones so that you have to prioritize where to go first). Currently there's not much gameplay besides just circling around the artifact and prevent the enemies from getting close * Maybe upgrades
But otherwise, well done for introducing the achievements as well. I see those rarely in LD games.
Keep up the good work.
Very polished game. The graphics are among the best I've seen this LD. Very well done.
I was at first unable to pass the first road (after I lose all but one) for many tries. I was at the verge of giving up. But I'm glad I was finally able to go thru and reach the end.
Keep up the good work.
The gameplay is very simple, yet effective. I wish there were more different _puzzles_, but knowing how much time that takes, it's reasonable. You still managed to put quite a lot there, even for a team of 4.
Very well done. keep up the good work.
The art style is really nice, but the wolves simply move too fast for me to be able to react at all. Thus I couldn't progress too far.
But really an interesting idea.
Although, I love my wife and I'd rather not throw her that high in the air
Very nice entry, the only issue I have is that the graphics are not really understandable on their own and I've had a lot of trouble understanding what's what.
But it shows that a lot of effort went into this and for that I applaud you
While I don't appreciate the timing of making a game about a virus killing people while so many people in the world are suffering in the pandemic, the game was executed quite nicely.
The recorded sounds is a cool touch
And the fact that there's some tutorial is nice as well.
Keep up the good work.
Man, this was stressful. I'm not good at games such as this. But it was fun.
A few pointers tho: the info messages on the screen are distracting. You are not really able to read whatever's there that much because you really have to focus. So, just something that'd appear somewhere and stay there for a bit would be much more readable than a thing that moves around. Another thing is that it wasn't really obvious when you get the long paddle (I only accidentally saw it as a hint on the screenshot).
Also, the score... it's just too big. Once you go millions, your brain can't say if it's 10 millions, or 100 millions or a billion. Drop it down by a factor of 1000 at least.
Anyhow, keep up the good work.
Hey, congratulations on your first game. It looks better than my first game, years ago
In any case, the things that could be improved:
* More explanation of what's going on. I still don't know what that other thing next to the water is. It looks like stones and it killed bugs, so I guess I found the purpose for it on my own. But otherwise, it was a bit confusing at first.
* The goal seem to be to let the plant grow large and to keep it alive, but there was no particular skill-involved challenge. When I'd see bugs, I'd quickly switch to _stones_ and then shower them with that until they're done. Then I'd go back to water and shower the plant with water.
* The numbers on the screen are a mystery. The second one seem to be the water level (?) but the first one confused me as it kept changing a lot. I still have no idea.
Anyhow, it's hard to gauge anything else because there's so many unknowns, but if improved a bit, this could be a proper fun game.
But definitely good entry for the first time.
Keep up the good work.
The controls are so hard that I unfortunatelly haven't gotten too far. But the idea seems nice, too bad it's not executed too well. But not much can be done in this limited timeframe so well done anyway. The only thing I'd really change (beside the way you move) is to make the death not as slow... When the cat dies, it takes too long IMO until you can try again so it's just a lot of waiting. And trust me, I was so bad at this game that I had to wait quite often. Anyways, keep up the good work.
Nice compo entry. Not much of a gameplay but what is there is nicely executed.
The only thing I've noticed is that the collision for the paddle is somewhat too big. I kept killing a ladybug and I'm sure the paddle wasn't really over one...
But all in all, cute entry
Keep up the good work.
Hey, nice polished game.
But instead of spending time to design one more level, a checkpoint system should've been created. ;) Lazyness is not an excuse :stuck_out_tongue:
One more thing I've noticed is that the movement is not as responsive as I'd expect. It almost felt that the movement happens only when I hold the wasd for a very small duration. Not on press, but on very short hold.
Other than that, nice entry, especially for compo.
Also, please please please... don't use installers in the game jam. There's no need for them.
Not really too much gameplay, but the setting is very original.
Graphics and sound is also very good.
Keep up the good work.
The game is a bit laggy. But really nice graphics.
Hey, nice little game. It was a bit confusing at first. And it took me quite a while that I can use this thing as a weapon. But afterwards I found my way...
The only thing I'd change is to make it not inverted, so that if I want to shoot to the right, I don't need to move mouse to the left... That was unintuitive to me.
Otherwise, nice game for the compo.
You know you are not supposed to UPDATE your game without specifying what you have updated. The rating process must take into account the ORIGINAL submission, not the update.
Please specify what you have changed so that I can rate this game. Feel free to ping me when you do.
Otherwise, it's not fair to other people who are rated only on what they managed to squeeze in 72 hours.
Hey, no worries. I apologize if my words sounded harsh, it wasn't my intention.
I just needed to be sure that the update is clarified. And considering that this is your first LD, I can understand your situation.
Don't worry. I just want the LD to be a community based on trust.
Now that you have clarified, I will now play/rate your game 😉
Review upcoming.
I've played the game. The graphics are really nice. The controls could have some refinement, but otherwise, it's a nice game. Too bad there was no music.
Keep up the good work.
Hey, the audiovisuals are really nice. Feels polished.
I just wished that the game had some difficulty to it.
I felt like I was just spamming the buttons and it was totally enough to keep it alive. No real challenge to it.
But remembering those things from my childhood, it was about the right timing to put it out of your pocket and do something with it. I don't think it's really translatable to a computer game.
But all in all, it shows that you've put some effort into making it feel nice.
Well done.
Very nice game. One thing I really liked: you made the violence a non-option! And also the way the character moves, is really immersive :) Well done!
Wow, I was about to close the game when I heard the voice. Veeery nice.
Although I promised myself to not rate any games related to the covid, I decided to make an exemption for yours. You have addressed the situation in a meaningful way, and I really appreciate that.
I can't say I understand the exact mechanics between the cells in this game, but I like it very much. Doesn't feel like a game though, but it is strangely satisfying.
Keep up the good work.
Hey, nice entry. We've encountered some glitches where the game wouldn't show correctly... the pieces and the whole board was missing, even in multiple browsers. But after some messing around, it just started working.
Interesting concept, but I wasn't really sure how we are supposed to communicate. We did do some planning so that we don't mess up the last place where the crown needs to go, but I felt constantly compelled to look at the other player's screen.
This collaboration aspect of the game wasn't really clear to me. We did still have some fun with it.
The presentation is nice and effective. Keep up the good work.
Nice. I just wish there were more variety in the typing sentences...
In any case, this game is very relatable. And I like the thematic items that help you with productivity but also speed up your thirst.
Keep up the good work.
You should also be aware that you can't code while having your right hand on the mouse and your left hand on the WASD. That's not how coding works :stuck_out_tongue:
