When you finish the jam an hour and a half early and garbage Australian internet makes you miss the deadline.

kupnu4 2020-04-21 05:40

Real shame. I'd love to play it!

kyle-bowman 2020-04-21 05:42

Wow this looks so fun. I'll be checking back when you guys have it up!

bloodyaugust 2020-04-21 08:07

HEY ALL! I just uploaded the Jam version now. Turns out a truck hit an internet node in our area and it just got fixed. I'll upload a version in a few days that the "full version" which is what we wanted the game to be and had planned but ran out of time. This version is everything we did before the deadline.

There's also a few bugs here and there but nothing too major. I'll fix those in the full version.

Missing Features In Jam Version:

- Weather Effecting workers production

- Music & Sound

- Nest Upgrades.

- Unit Upgrades

Cool graphics. Honestly I am super impressed you managed to pull this off in such a short time

axeliz 2020-04-22 16:57

@bloodyaugust forgot to tag you when i got the upload up ;P

@marcusnystrand cheers! we worked hard I wish we had another programmer because the team absolutely killed it on the art side. Would of completed everything we set out to as well.

gandalfderwaise 2020-04-22 17:44

thanks for the mention. It's really amazing what you've set up in this short time! There are many features of a strategy game and it's a lot of fun exploring the features, yu've implemented :) I really love the whole idea, the placement and detailed designed graphics. For me it was pretty hard to defand against the enemies though. Still a really lovely nice game! Maybe add some sound in the future - keep up with it! Good job :D

axeliz 2020-04-23 08:21

@gandalfderwaise Cheers! Yeah the waves are set to randomly spawn from a static list at the moment so someitmes the game is super easy sometimes it's super hard. In the full version i've got more combinations and there stats incrementally changing as the game progresses as well as a difficulty multiplier on the main menu to make it a bit more interesting.

I LOVE the design and animations. The wiggly larva especially. Nice job on all of the details! It was great.

blue-pin-studio 2020-04-23 19:21

I am officially deciding this is my favorite game of the jam and i'm 70ish games in. Loooooved it! Im ashamed to say i didn't beat it on either playthrough but i would love to play it again.

Just a heads up, some of the numbers become hard to read when the buildings are upgraded because UI elements cover them up. Everything seems to be working like a charm tho!

squid 2020-04-23 19:30

Had a few things that did not work and when you summon army bees they spawn to far forward to protect your queen. Still real fun and seemed pretty well balanced.

teo-yong-jie 2020-04-23 19:38

great concept! however it feels a bit buggy and unclear on how to unlock certain things, the addition of music and sound(maybe through some royalty free sites?) can make this game even more polished. the graphics are very well done!

adam-clayden 2020-04-23 20:05

Really nice looking graphics. I like their facial expressions and looks like a lot of work for a game jam! Was a bit hard to get used to the controls at first though.

coolestdoggie 2020-04-23 20:07

Amazing game and great grafics but a lot of yellow colour and i had eye strain after playing.

axeliz 2020-04-24 05:25

Thank you for the feedback guys! Means a lot! I'll take all your advice on board when finishing up the full version of the game should hopefully be done in a day or 2.

kyle-bowman 2020-04-25 22:42

Glad you guys could get it uploaded! Loved the animations, especially the queen eating the honey. There were a few bugs (lol) that I noticed. The rolly polly blew up my buildings in one shot which made it almost impossible to defend against (not much of a bug, more balancing). The UI would still say buy when I clicked off a building onto the larvae (and then when i clicked it it bought the building). Sound would've made this game amazing! Also a minimap would be really helpful because the scroll speed is rather slow and I can't tell what's coming until it's too late. Great job, really cool game!

axeliz 2020-04-29 06:03

I tried full version and I really love that. Pretty hard to get how to play, so wish ability to see guide in-game.

bloodyaugust 2020-04-30 01:37

Came back to play this one, and I very much enjoyed it! The stats, upgrades, and UI in general could use a lot of tweaking to make it more obvious what things do, how they interact, and where you can un-block a production chain, but it's honestly impressive that you managed to fit so many mechanics and so much content in during the jam! I love tug-of-war style games, and I really hope you take this one the distance to release!

kaisean-games 2020-04-30 09:14

Niiiiiiiice... Very cool idea.

The UI is a bit confusing and it takes a while of experimentation to understand what's going on, but once you get it it works :)

It's also hard to remember which type of a bee is good against with other bug, so this could be a bit more obvious.

Other than that, really nice. Some sound would be nice, but I guess you just ran out of time :)

Keep up the good work.
