LD23 — Tiny World

Balance by hadesfury 2012-04-24T23:53:00

Deceptively hard! I really like it, I found that to keep the world more balanced you need to kill / push off clumps of the little dudes. Their animations are pretty cool and so are their sound effects, nicely done.

Alien Archaeologist by jplur 2012-04-25T00:59:00

Pretty fun! With a bit more refined gameplay this would be really awesome, the "growing world which you burrow into to collect things" is a great idea.

Block Bros by HeuGamer 2012-04-25T01:13:00

Congrats on your first game!

The First Frontier by Nickardson 2012-04-23T05:09:00

It also ran super-fast for me, but I was still able to beat it by carefully tapping S. I like the idea as well, makes me think of some part of Super Mario Galaxy.

When you do any time-sensitive stuff in a game, such as moving things with velocity, always multiply the velocity by the amount of time that's passed since the last game tick (I forget what LÖVE calls it, maybe timedelta or deltatime). This should make stuff move at the same rate on all computers.

Conqueror by Hume 2012-04-23T13:38:00

Got to level 3. Here I thought Kamehameha was just something from Dragonball Z. I like the "Washington was burnt in revenge" because hardly anyone probably knows about the War of 1812 and the burning of York (Toronto).

Tiny Island by Zathnic 2012-04-23T16:15:00

I couldn't get past level 3, I assumed I just wasn't clever enough for it, though. :)

Macro Marines by JonathanG 2012-04-29T18:12:00

Really creative, fun concept! "Base getting hit" sound is a bit annoying.

Necro Gaia by lazybraingames 2012-04-23T18:49:00

Chrome thinks your .exe is malicious. I will try this out as soon as I can, it looks really cool!

Necro Gaia by lazybraingames 2012-04-23T22:35:00

Wow! Does not dissapoint! It's a difficult but very creative take on Shmups. Kind of like a tower defense that I actually like.

Minilization - Dawn and Fall of Man by jarnik 2012-04-27T16:14:00

I wasn't able to win, I ran out of space and kept respawning at a location where I couldn't move far enough to try to create a new city. Neat idea, though.

Voyageur by Spotline 2012-04-27T17:20:00

Cool, graphics are ace and I like the vibe. The transitions into planet atmospheres are cool. I'll pass this along to Ed (maker of Proteus).

Ra Ra by YMM 2012-04-23T04:55:00

Holycrap this is cool! I will try to get friends to play it. It's hard to aim your attacks so it's a bit random-feeling, but I think over time I could figure out some methods. This would be a PERFECT arcade cabinet game.

gravity by Rémi 2012-04-23T20:27:00

I was able to get 39. Creative but hard!

Five by Five by eventhandler 2012-05-06T16:39:00

Really clever idea! Gets a bit frustrating at the end when it's really hard to tell if you can place anything.

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-04-25T01:34:00

Neat! I like the idea of tiny-world gardening games.

Serendipity with Cubes by halogenica 2012-04-23T16:24:00

It took me a little bit to understand the meaning of "Connect the two pulsating cubes with a pair of same-color cubes" because the pulsating cubes were different colors. I would have written something like "change the color of the pulsating cubes so they match, then connect the pulsating cubes with a chain of cubes of the same color".

I like the style and the basic gameplay is nice, I noticed it's most effective(?) to connect more cubes of the same color than you need to. The only problems are A) gray cubes can still be interacted with and B) It's not obvious why you get a Game Over: it's hard to tell when you have "stranded" a cube.

Giant Apple Pie by mmarcati 2012-04-25T01:05:00

I got so close to winning! Pretty cool use of the theme.

Tiny Trader by divillysausages 2012-04-30T17:40:00

Pretty neat! The 'clean pickup/dropoff' bonus makes it pretty challenging at times. Some kinda gameover when you reach 0 credits would be nice, but I got the point pretty quickly anyways.

Evolve by jerombd 2012-04-25T02:55:00

Tones.wolfram.com is a surprisingly good musician, thanks for the link!

Adopt-A-World by thotdoctor64 2012-04-23T05:02:00

I can't download the game, my browser just hangs on a blank page, even if I do to filetolink.com directly. I will try again tomorrow.

Kumiho by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2012-04-24T22:13:00

Really fun! Really beautiful! SHMUP YOU!

I had some trouble timing my teleports exactly, it was not uncommon to teleport directly into a bullet. I would have preferred to be able to hold down X, which displays a "ghost" at the point I will teleport to, and then RELEASE it to teleport.

Awesome job!

stack::tracer() by nihilocrat 2012-04-27T04:53:00

I posted a post-compo version with some improvements and two new levels!

Mitochondrion by Rybar 2012-04-23T05:18:00

This is the best mitochondrion-themed game I have ever played (I think I played some terrible FMV mitochondrion-themed game from the 90s). The "don't get too big to fit through passages to deliver the amino acids" idea is neat.

It's very pretty, too!

Another Kind of World by daandruff 2012-04-25T00:51:00

Best audio I've heard so far, great graphics too. I would have made the fuses on bombs shorter, or made the throws a bit less forceful, so it's a bit easier to hit things without just throwing a bunch of bombs.

Everlasting by feyleaf 2012-04-25T00:27:00

Always good to see some procedural generation!

Pin Party by cambrian_era 2012-04-23T19:23:00

Cool interpretation of the theme! There are not enough medieval-philosophy-dance-party games in the world!

Orbiter by thatshelby 2012-04-29T18:24:00

Creative spin on the TD genre. Not a big fan of the the genre (probably why I thought it was a bit slow) but still an interesting game.

Superpixel by lectvs 2012-04-29T18:29:00

Nice Super Meat Boy clone :)

Subatomica by SFBTom 2012-04-25T00:40:00

Very interesting idea. Pretty tough!

BEEFWAR by crackerblocks 2012-04-23T16:48:00

GROUND BEEF!!!! POW POW BLAM KHTHOOOOM!

MyLittleWorld by guzzungo 2012-04-23T16:02:00

I also couldn't get Silverlight working, it wanted me to enable hardware acceleration but I couldn't figure out how. Blame Microsoft :(

Epic Scale Warfare by devwil 2012-04-24T23:44:00

That was pretty funny! I felt a little sad at the end when nothing happened when I clicked.

This Precious Land by Ishisoft 2012-04-23T04:44:00

Pretty fun to just fool around with, I wish you had the time to implement something to do with wood, rock tiles, and water tiles. You lose an innovation star 'cause Triple Town already did it :). Great job!

Rat Conquest by Canard Sauvage 2012-04-23T16:07:00

I didn't have the patience to eat enough to grow to the next size, I think if there were more humans and you moved faster, that wouldn't be a problem. Dodge-bullets-and-eat-humans looks like it would be more fun when you're bigger and there's lots of bullets to dodge.

LD25 — You are the Villain

Flight of the Abductor by enfyrneaux 2012-12-17T05:07:00

My score was 9 goats!

Fetch Quest by sclark39 2012-12-17T17:36:00

Pretty cool! Nice UI, it gets pretty difficult if you aren't able to coordinate your defense well, 'cause you will lose your monsters one-by-one and might not have the gold to buy more.

Double, Double! by metadept 2012-12-17T05:33:00

"Double, Double" makes me immediately think of this: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Double-Double

Nice game! Fun, with nice graphics.

The Princess Killer by jahlgren 2012-12-17T17:53:00

Pretty freaking hard! I like how it fit the theme by forcing me to chase a woman around and beat her to death, that's really uncomfortable.

You are the Evil Overlord by Worse 2012-12-17T18:02:00

Pretty creative design and controls; kind of a dialogue-controlled RTS.

Alphanauts by dom2d 2012-12-17T04:19:00

Props for completing a jam entry ahead of the deadline!

Alphanauts by dom2d 2012-12-17T17:30:00

Keyboard errors are probably due to the keyboard controller hardware, though I suspect OS can contribute, too. This is why, for example, the Arcade Royale arcade machine actually uses two seperate keyboard controllers because otherwise you would get really weird results when multiple players tried to press their buttons at the same time.

I didn't even think to try to move multiple dudes at the same time! Somehow I got to Level V anyways, but had to go afk suddenly, I was so bummed. My strategy was to try to space out the dudes as much as possible so that when a black hole appeared, I would only need to move one at a time in ideal circumstances. If I thought about multiple dudes, I would probably try to group together dudes who are close together on the keyboard, but otherwise keep the same strategy. Kinda hard to move A and P at the same time.

Greedy Aardvark by newton64 2012-12-17T02:54:00

Cool ending! But I gotta ask, is this canon?

Land of the Weebums by vrav 2012-12-17T05:03:00

It's pretty fun to fling them into the air by getting them to fall over on their side THEN flinging them, so they go directly up.

Bad Driver! +1 by uncade 2012-12-17T05:19:00

Get the car on its roof by turning sharply while going fast, then see what happens when you hit W.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Duke Dashington by AdventureIslands 2013-08-26T17:43:00

Pretty cool, I like the combination of puzzle-style controls, gravity, and timing, which makes for some creative platforming.

10 Seconds to Clear by Foxtacy 2013-08-26T16:18:00

A unique approach to the typing genre.

Flock Of Steel by ThatSamu 2013-08-26T16:30:00

Lemmings!

Don't sink by Doctor Broccoli 2013-08-26T17:12:00

I got a score of 1415 over 14 days. I used as many actions as I received, so I ended up going into explosive growth and turning the whole island into sand. I like the idea of a turn-based building game that has time pressure.

Grand Steam: DUEL by stellar-Ø 2013-09-12T20:53:00

Really cool looking, and great use of the theme, but it felt kind of like a crapshoot since I just had to guess what the enemy was going to do.

1000ms by Loren 2013-08-26T16:15:00

My highest score in "score rush" was 10206.

The one-second modes are basically trolling. :)

10013 milliseconds by mortus 2013-08-26T16:53:00

I have to agree with all the "whoa cool this is awesome but I can't make sense of any of it" comments :)

Using the ten seconds as a resource to execute commands is a great idea. I think if I had more patience I would figure out how to beat the game through experimentation.

Invasion of the GooseNappers by ocmu 2013-08-26T16:34:00

I like the idea of swapping between worlds every 10 seconds, most games simply end in 10 seconds. I actually didn't realize I shouldn't kill the geese, but I like the idea of the gameplay changing each time you switch, it reminds me of a game I made several years ago with "two-sided" gameplay: http://gamejolt.com/games/arcade/axis-caeli/4007/

Navigator by osthekake 2013-08-26T16:28:00

Cool! Creative way of thinking about the theme. Reminds me a bit of Frozen Synapse.

Particle Fighter by Tym0r 2013-08-26T17:00:00

Looks really cool. It's pretty hard to control your ship, especially when you bounce in a corner and get stuck bouncing back and forth. I think it would help if it didn't re-orient your ship after you bounced.

Burger Hunter by euvl 2013-08-26T17:03:00

Looks pretty cool. I lost because I couldn't find a piece of lettuce that was on top of a green square.

Jumitris - stucktris by muumero 2013-08-26T16:22:00

Clever. Much like in Tetris, it would help to have a preview of the next block's shape.

"Save the comrades" - CAT_IN_THE_DARK_WOOD by CAT_IN_THE_DARK_WOOD 2013-08-26T16:57:00

Cool portraits, I'm not really sure why I keep losing even though I'm outrunning the crosshairs though.

Antidote by Antidote 2013-08-28T00:11:00

Really cool! I like the risk/reward tradeoff from looting levels more thoroughly.

BLAM BLAM PLANET by ratking 2013-08-27T03:30:00

holycrap, this is so awesome. Weird (and pretty) graphics. Weird sound effects. Cool use of the theme. Cool weapon design. I really can't find anything wrong!

10 Sec Hero by StabAlarash 2013-08-26T17:29:00

I kinda like the concept but because I had to stop for each battle I didn't really have time to do anything else but get the wooden sword. Maybe I'm missing something. I think it might work better if you didn't have time auto-advance but instead make it advance when you moved / attacked, keeping with the turn-based nature of the turn-based RPGs that inspire this game.

Defuse by KevinWorkman 2013-08-30T16:28:00

I scored 66942. I really like the concept of the game.

Jellyfish Shall Rule the Earth by bigbazwa 2013-08-26T17:25:00

I liked the fact that I had to shoot the legs, made the shooting a bit more interesting.

Also, "Jellyfish populations have spiralled out of control, and they have become EVIL." ^_^

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Garden State by cbear_wallis 2015-04-21T17:28:00

I like how the plants talk randomly, I don't think I've played a puzzle game like that.

carena by TomBoogaart 2015-04-26T04:32:00

really juicy!

Laser Kitty Sim by smikulcik 2015-04-20T13:31:00

Title screen animation is neat :)
It's interesting to try and figure out how the cats respond to the pointer.

Lalyvilley by From Smiling 2015-04-21T00:47:00

chopsquare souls

Star seal by Zo0MER 2015-04-20T13:28:00

I like the charge-up attack and how dramatic it is. The camerawork could be a bit better, tweening instead of just jumping around, but it's a neat idea.

Save Earth by patman123 2015-04-26T04:38:00

Mac-only build of a Unity game, boo!

The Rod Of God by RandyOrenstein 2015-04-21T00:46:00

dongiest game in the compo

Doll Quest, Bad Brother Beatdown by JaJ 2015-04-26T04:36:00

Pretty hard, I couldn't beat any of them on the first try. Air control would help. Still, neat concept, cool use of theme.
