What DLLs do I need to play XNA games? They never work for me on Windows 7 64
my computer is way to fast to play this, but it's funny
great visuals in the back there, concept was kind of obvious but the game feels good to play.
Hahaha well played sir
Great intros and cutscenes, from the characters down to the text effects and timing. For a platformer, it had a lot of immersion!
very great pixel art, and love the background. I agree, the control was a little tricky, and the puzzles seemed to be about mastering the controls.
Neat concept, nice to discover the score box at the end. The controls could have been thought out more and I'm not sure where the 'escape' comes in.
I can tell a lot of work went into the mechanics of this, but having to reload the map every time i moved a square didn't leave me enough patience. I dig the layout, maybe next time focus on the user's experience.
so we were escaping from a serial killer? Or the pressures of modern society on women? Glad I found out the ending in the comments, and didn't keep tearing out boards ;)
Solid and polished, but perhaps too simple. I liked the notifications for incoming vehicles!
Pretty slick
haha this is pretty nifty
Yep this should be in the jam.
Couldn't get past the start menu and f1 only said arrow keys and space bar so no idea what I was supposed to do.
Unique mechanic, next time have someone package a windows exe for you
Saw the thumbnail for this and new I had to play it, very fun, especially if you stick around and let the planet disintegrate.
Thanks for the comments folks! I'll definitely be addressing them in the new version, especially better collision physics, mouse down for firing bullets, and better balance of the game difficulty progression. Also looking into how I can optimize for firefox.
The later levels were really fun, very great game overall! The controls and physics are super clean.
Love the style and the difficulty, didn't get too far but bookmarked to play on a rainy day!
Fun to play around with, I'd like to see a post compo version of this!
You're right, single player is fun. Hope to see it done
Added to my list of fiendishly hard fun games to try to beat after I've rated everything else.
Very solid game, could of used some risk of losing, but still a lot of fun!
Great mood and fun rendition of the genre. Would of been nice with a purple shield ;)
Novel concept and lots of fun, you must keep working on this!
Pretty fun, could use some more polish with the UI, maybe larger fonts. Also would be nice if the buildings had some animations for the resources they were/were not producing.
I couldn't figure it out either, just went from room to room and watched as the '*' destroyed the dashes below the text.
I feel like I'm missing out !
Wow solid entry, on of my favorites!
Great game there, reminds me of that mental game where the farmer has to move a chicken, fox, and bag of corn over the river. A hot key to close the announcements would be great.
the clockwork heavens don't really mesh with the purple monster, but this could really be something interesting if you kept working on it.
Saw a lot of hype for this entry and it's well deserved, very solid dungeon maker, would love to see continued work on this!!
Love these kinds of games, solid implementation for 48 hours, would like to play an extended version!
Very polished!
As far as post modernist immersible interactive games go, this entry was a solid contender in the categories oH̸̡̪̯ͨ͊̽̅̾̎Ȇ̴̟̟͙̞ͩ͌͝Error 105: CommentȨ̬̩̾͛ͪ̈́̀́͘ ̶̧̨̱̹̭̯ͧ̾ͬCorruptC̷̙̲̝͖ͭ̏ͥͮ͟Oͮ͏̮̪̝͍M̲̖͊̒ͪͩͬ̚̚͜C̷̙̲̝͖ͭ̏ͥͮ͟S̨̥̫͎̭ͯ̿̔̀ͅPlease listen to this soothing music while H̸̡̪̯ͨ͊̽̅̾̎Ȩ̬̩̾͛ͪ̈́̀́͘ ̶̧̨̱̹̭̯ͧ̾ͬ
Like how I had a squirt gun, and how ambitious the project was.
Ran really fast, is that what the hardware acceleration was for? The radial world was neat, gameplay not so much.
Congrats on making a successful game on your first run, quite enjoyed it! Also the music was easy on the ears :)
Really interesting, I'd like to see this with some goals and the ability to zoom in and out
Works very well, cool to see another player on at the same time.
Ha didn't move a house but they seemed to get along pretty well. Nice game for such an ambitious idea, ran a little too fast for me to play on my comp.
Didn't realize I could harvest, but still had fun trying to just use achievement rewards to further my goals. Great game!
Great minimap, and I liked the feel of the planet, this would be a cool start for a bigger project
very cool, first entry where I read the source ;)
Nice effects!
I thought this was pretty addictive, the boss battle is great!
Nice take on the theme, made me smile!
Oh wow, this is what LD is all about, great game!
Hey thanks for the feedback!
"What I found instead was a lot of empty space to run around aimlessly in."
This is to be expected with the first person to try this out, check back after everybody has made a mess of the place ;)
@Brassawiking well I'm going to save daily dumps, so far 100 some screens have been edited. It's nice to fly around in space and stumble onto something neat ;)
@Maple yeah I just saw, someone is putting invisible solid blocks around, kind of fun to hunt them down and destroy them
munchor: fixed the source link, broke it when I put up the post compo :/
Very fun take on the sim city thing, like others I thought bankruptcy was a little sudden but thoroughly enjoyed the game!
Laughed quite a bit at this one.
I love dinosaurs and you made a great model with nice animations.
Don't take this the wrong way, but this probably should of resulted in a 'throw in the towel' blog post and not been submitted. If you had done something like scattering collectibles around the level with a timer and a simple game loop I could consider it a full entry.
Solid game with a lot of thought put in to the level design, appreciate it!
I managed to generate a guy that thrived in the water, didn't move but reproduced enough ;)
I think you managed to do what a lot of people tried to this competition, good stuff!
But evolution!
This is a great idea, with great intro/sound. I admit I got fed up quickly on the first level, basically had to immediately press auto pilot then hope to correct quickly enough near the wall.
ran smooth, wasn't thrilled with the gameplay but I like this visual style and could see this turning into something.
Liked that it was for android, going to take a look at your source now ;)
Really didn't like the controls, which is a shame because once things start spawning hectically it's pretty interesting. Nice that there was an android version ;)
Oooh this is a good one, could definitely spend an hour playing this if I didn't have so many entries to test ;)
I liked this quite a bit, reminds me of a lot of things I've made in the past.
Unfortunately I got an error when I picked up the 4th evolution:
main.lua:487: attempt to perform arithmetic on field '?' (a nil value)
main.lua:487 : in function 'draw'
[C]: in function 'xpcall'
An amazing entry, really loved discovering how to advance.
I think people having trouble with some parts are a bit impatient, but possible the running scene could be reworked.
Great stuff!
Really liked it. Quite a few gems fell over the side of the map, and i wasn't able to get at the final key below the rock. Now i'm super curious what was in that last chest.
Going to have to look at your source code, this runs very smoothly!
Hahaha great stuff.. till I lost 400 on the cat in the swim race >:|
This was a pretty good game, I played through a couple of times, picked up what was going on very quickly. My third game they started breeding out of control, creating this singularity of blip boop beep that progressively got more psychedelic as the program crashed. Great work!
I thought the tilt control was a fun feature, will keep this on my phone!
Pretty hilarious, loved the mood too.
Not enough adversity for me, but I like the graphics and concept
Couldn't get past the second level. Maybe that was Neitzsche's doing?
Love the concept but the execution was a little off, this could be great with better mechanics!
A solid roguelike and I enjoyed the bits of humor thrown in!
Best in show! Seriously the amount of complexity and hilarity here is astounding, played for an hour and will play for many more!
Wow this is great, didn't take too long to figure out what was going on, and I had a blast!
Loved this, works beautifully on my phone, and I've played it quite a bit since downloading it. Will be keeping this app ;)
Nice screens, a bit too much acceleration, would maybe be nice if it followed the mouse.
pleasant!
I'm really enjoying all the 'interactive simulations' for this compo's theme. This is one of my favorites!
Really dug the graphical style, would like to see a post compo of this.
I quite liked this, played it 3 times. Purple ants FTW! Never figured out what the yellow potion did :/
Amazing backgrounds, loved the city, lights and grid. Gameplay was pretty smooth and good you fit in evolution of the ai.
Very tastefull graphics, and I enjoyed the gameplay.
I liked it quite a bit. The ai ants started with very specific rgb traits, my guys died pretty quickly. Also it was hard to tell who's on what side ;)
Quite hard but a solid game that has a lot of replayability.
Enjoyable for the simplicity, pretty sure it's impossible to win however, and I wish the viruses were reproducing more organically instead of just popping up somewhere on the screen.
Polished stuff, didn't see the evolution but I loved the time trials.
Nice concept and decently fun. Love that there is an android version and am definitely keeping this on my phone, great job!
Love this graphical style
Simple idea but well made, could be interesting to keep going with it.
Loved the music. Gameplay/upgrading was neat, the dogfighting could use a tweak or two to acceleration and turning.
Great start that could be fun with more work.
Amazing graphics, one of the best 3D entries!
I quite liked the quadropus, agree with other people on the movement issues.
I'll be honest, I expect a lot from a Unity entry with a landscape, so although it was quite pretty I wish there was more to the gameplay.
I liked this, I'm a big fan of the Captain Forever games, did't mind the slow dogfighting but perhaps the speed/rotation could be separated.
I beat it but I did not see a cat land. But nice design on this!
Nice game, unfortunately it ran way to fast on my phone.
lovely controls and an addictive game
Pretty solid game, interesting take on a roguelike if you ask me.
great graphics, but yeah I don't think it was really finished enough.
Very inspired, I just wish it would tell you something about these birds when you discover them.
Hey my game also has a pixel sized penis in it.
Nice to see svg for the graphics.
Pretty addicting, I wish that you had to plan your improvements in order to keep getting stars. Pretty neat!
finally a humor contender.
Loved the effects on the visuals, caught on to the gameplay pretty quickly, and finally beat it!
Neat to play around with, but yeah could of been more challenging
I like the idea, would of been nice to see it completed.
Novel idea, loved the hexagonal arena.
amazing graphics, you should use the cross stitch thing in more projects!
Nice idea, was a little unsure of the benefits to new evolutions. I liked the mouse controlls, but not sure if it needed the isometric view.
Hey this is great, couldn't exactly figure out when they were hungry, the hunger reading always said 0, but I bookmarked it to come back and play more later on. Great to see another crafty.js game and cool that it's on appspot !
Haha loved the monty python ending. This is beautiful, funny, and the perfect length for a LD entry, great job!
Insanely cute, I enjoyed it a lot. Didn't think it was too grindy (well maybe for a LD game where we don't want to spend too much time with all the other entries)
Was kind of sad I beat it without upgrading much, could definitely be taken further in the post compo, maybe with finite blue dots to eat.
Great work!
Wierd, it's not showing the web link, maybe because there is a port number?
http://app.finalpage.io:8075/
Yeah sorry, trying to get it to be stable. The server is staying up now, but if box2D crashes it's messed until I can ssh in and restart the server.
I should probably just let it crash and use node forever to reboot it from the static html server.
Anyway, I added a link to the logs so you can see if it's up or not, and will keep tinkering ;)
No goal, just to play around. Also, good news: I'm pretty sure the server is stable, it might crash but it will be back up in seconds.
Link is definitely working.
Nice platformer and fun graphics, maybe could of used more puzzles, or maybe non linearity for how you move through them. The Indiana Jones level is top notch!
This is a solid game, very cool that you're porting it to ouya!
Great characters, you feel really bad for the son if you mess up. The idea hits the theme really well, I just wish I had more precision with the angles I could aim at.
Nice work guys, was great to log on when there was a group playing, and it was pretty fun!
Amazing! I can proudly say I was the first to kill an enemy ;) This hits the theme so well, you should be proud!
Ding du din ding da ding din ding da da din ding.
Very cool, also I like how you used your web app in progress as the platform, I bookmarked that so I can keep up with it in the future.
Hahaha nice! Perfect length for a LD entry, and great interpretation of theme
fun and very polished!
high marks on theme and graphics, would like to see an extended version!
The mystery science theater guys in the audience cracked me up!
Very hard (but in a good way), nice mood too!
loved the transition effects on the tiles, great audio too!
I think you've inspired a bunch of us to start using 3D scanning now :)
Really solid game, quite hard in a fun way! High marks!
Ah wow, this one was beautiful, really powerful game!
Nice to see pygame being used!
Nice entry! The character could of used some friction when landing, I kept slipping off the blocks.
Ah wow, this really had me on edge, in a good way!
Nice little thing, maybe could of used a more medieval song? And more hell.
Lovely! Only crit is the arena could of had more vertical structures to grapple onto, and the music was a little quiet for some reason
a little buggy (like actual error messages on the debug console), but it did work, and had lovely graphics and music
high marks! So much game and polish for a compo entry, very impressed!
Wow did you just pull off a Superhot in 48 hours??
Gameplay is solid, and I'm really feeling the mood you created with the environment art and audio, hyper cleanliness and violins in a demon housing facility.
Oh wow I loved this one! Music is the best I've heard so far. This could really be taken further as a post compo version
Woah, I did a dancing game too :) I giggled a lot playing this, only gripe is it sort of hung up a few times and I couldn't get the strobe light to turn on. Cool stuff!
super super entry, you should continue work on this - I could really see it as a popular phone game or something ($$$)
I like that you can opt out of the world because rock. It lagged out once the planet was covered in peasants so I might of missed a lot (I saw some knights at least)
fun little game, the dialogue intro is adorable
Very complete! You took a clever idea and fleshed it out into a challenging game, nicely done!
This confirms my suspicions about spoons :)
nice take on the theme and the piano sample was pleasant!
ooh nice idea, it's challenging! Game could use more polish, maybe think about a post-compo version :)
fun(ny) game, a little too hard, but I really dig this art/audio style you are doing
Loved exploring a world I'd apparently destroyed! The writing reminded me a bit of China Mieville.
Gameplay could use a little polish, but it's a great idea and I think you should tweak it a bit for a post compo version!
Nicely polished, now sell a million dollars of unlockable characters :)
All ghosts squeaked away! This was a touching little game, thanks!
love this visual style! Controls were a little rough, but the game was polished enough
Love it! Only crit is maybe it could of referenced a train car or passenger seat, and some types of objects could of played a different sounds sample. Very glad some people are being truly unconventional with their interpretation of weapons!
@repstyle thanks!
some spoilers:
'T' accepts input from the bottom and splits.
'$' is a bit useless
'U' is a finger for auto-clicking the core
About the arrows, yes thinking about removing that limitation for the post compo version. You can still create loops by making a rectangle with arrows.
And about the 'formal game', strongly disagree. Toys are games, they don't need a win and lose state. :)
Highly enjoyable, I played it 6 times :) Really impressed with entries like this that find a simple fun mechanic and polish it to perfection.
