So this might be the most fun concept for a drum machine I've seen. More than anything, this is the first drum machine I've used in a while which doesn't encourage genre tropes. I clicked around, fiddled with things until they sounded nice, and suddenly found myself in the midst of a polymetric 5/8 thing that sounded weird, exciting, and great.
It's not easy to predict the exact timing of the balls, and the sounds aren't intuitive and congruent, but the system manages to dodge the pitfall of confusing absurdity and get into this really nice zone that I'll probably come back to a couple more times before this LD runs its course
That's a pretty interesting idea. I like it.

I like the idea.
I want a better accessibility, like drag&drop sounds instead of keybords inputs.
I don't understand "$", "t' and "u"
I would like to see sound bounce back on opposite arrow.
I don't think it has a formal game if i could say it.
Maybe turning it in a puzzle game requiring player to place instruments in the most efficient way to reproduce a drum patern could be great.

@repstyle thanks!
some spoilers:
'T' accepts input from the bottom and splits.
'$' is a bit useless
'U' is a finger for auto-clicking the core
About the arrows, yes thinking about removing that limitation for the post compo version. You can still create loops by making a rectangle with arrows.
And about the 'formal game', strongly disagree. Toys are games, they don't need a win and lose state. :)
As said when I was playing it, I'm not a technically musical person, but it was really fun to play around with and make pretty patterns (greetings from someone who's obviously the studio's artist haha).
