Cute game, really like the graphics and the concept!

darkcoder 2012-04-24 02:18

Looks pretty cool, but there isn't much to do. The particles also slow it down a bit when you click on loads of planets (on my PC at least).

Working in 3D on the web can be challenging, but you pulled off a fun experience. I think it's more fun playing in a short time period (10s or so). As with all things WebGL, it seems to perform best in Chrome.

very nice graphics... but the gameplay / theme affinity lacks...

gritfish 2012-04-24 13:10

Solid effort! ran well in firefox, but I did get the texture problem - it was still playable though. Good, simple interface and clear instructions :P Why did you decide to use a new language/framework for a gamejam? - I'm curious because I did the reverse, I did ONLY what I was comfortable in.

I'm running Chrome on OSX, the game didn't show planets the first few times I played, but then they appeared on the 3rd game. Pretty nice visuals :) Some SFX would have been a really nice touch though!

kato9 2012-04-25 00:12

Honestly not a very fun game (just clicking randomly), but cool psychedelic graphics!

davidwparker 2012-04-25 15:29

@gritfish, I decided to learn Three.js/WebGL for LD mostly because it forced me to learn something new, and fast. Another major reason is the fact that I mostly only know OpenGL (C) as far as graphics go, and I wanted to make something that everyone could play without having to compile anything.

Interesting gameplay. I felt quite evil and competitive doing this.

vilya 2012-04-25 22:37

Liked having the choice of game length - nice idea. Particle effects were cool too. Gameplay is a bit shallow though; maybe certain worlds could be friendly & you lose points if you click on them, or something?

voidchronos 2012-04-25 23:30

Great timekiller! The only thing i was annoyed about was particles, after blowing the planet. It launched as 6x square boxes, full of particles, like this:
<-x x->
<-x x->
<-x x->
flying to the edges, leaving the top and bottom of the block empty.

Anyway, Good Job!

daredevildave 2012-04-26 20:37

Not really much to do here and a little buggy, but kind of fun in a mindless sort of way.

moonmagic 2012-04-27 03:39

I enjoyed watching the planets drift by, and I thought that the peaceful feeling of the scene contrasted nicely with the mindless destruction. Sound and music would have greatly enhanced this experience; also, if watching the planets for a length of time was rewarding, there would be an aesthetic risk / reward between watching for cool interactions and destroying planets (since that is the verb).

jplur 2012-04-28 02:58

very cool, first entry where I read the source ;)

greg20man 2012-04-28 09:15

So many tiny lives lost in a fit of rage T.T

summaky 2012-04-28 15:43

I see nothing but a black screen that when I click, at random, it says I destroyed a world... Tried in Google Chrome on Windows 7 32-bit.

caranha 2012-04-28 16:51

Fireworks! So pretty! :-D

Very fun game. You should add some SFX for the explosions.

Cheers!

blackdogg 2012-04-28 19:18

It's a really awesome technical demo (pretty amazed by how it's smooth even with a lot of particles) but as it game it looks a bit short. But I had a fun clicking time anyway.

datahaven 2012-04-28 21:48

Nice graphics! Found the gameplay a little limited, though. Some sound effects might be a nice addition?

derosa 2012-04-30 12:09

Nice casual game, but i missed some "phew-phew" and "ka-boom" bfxr-made effects :)

mark_ffrench 2012-05-01 00:04

Sorry, nothing but a black screen for me... (That said, I managed to blow up 20 planets in five seconds, so I'm pretty sure I'm so awesome at this game I don't even need graphics!)

dr-pingu 2012-05-07 16:56

Well done, a good use of these technos.
But this game suffer of a lack of content.

Good work :)

rvmook 2012-05-08 18:03

Really impressed with the webgl stuff especially since this was your first time working with it. Didn't really feel much for the game though

azurenimbus 2012-05-10 03:29

This was a cool looking particle-fest! The concept is simple and full of potential, you should explore it and create some interesting challenges.
