LD23 — Tiny World

Pale Blue Dot by KevinWorkman 2012-04-24T04:46:00

At first I just played the game, and found it a little frustrating, but after reading the author's advice it was a much more enjoyable experience, as a sort of galactic sightseeing/slow motion katamari. And, of course, Carl Sagan.

Tiny God by davidwparker 2012-04-24T04:51:00

Working in 3D on the web can be challenging, but you pulled off a fun experience. I think it's more fun playing in a short time period (10s or so). As with all things WebGL, it seems to perform best in Chrome.

Nematode by danblack 2012-04-26T14:32:00

Unfortunately, I had a similar experience as the other commenters here. Maybe if the worms moved in more predictable patterns, it would be easier to form them?

LD28 — You Only Get One

Rick McSlick by xgeovanni 2013-12-16T05:22:00

Fun stuff, I like the controls, they remind me of that old game Abuse that I love. I was confused on the first play through because I couldn't find any enemies, btu once I figured it out it was really fun to blast away at the little buggers. Parts of it are tricky!

YOGO Cookie by Lacutis 2013-12-17T03:28:00

Very fun evading the mom character, quite difficult too! Good stuff.

Distance by Edd Morgan 2013-12-16T04:47:00

Love the general aesthetic, and the music + sfx + feeling of looking through the scope makes for an eerie experience. I made it to level 5, but couldn't beat it after a bunch of tries, too tricky! I don't quite get how it relates to the theme, since you can take multiple shots in some levels, but it was fun anyways.

You only get one digit! by drnick 2013-12-16T04:52:00

It's great to see some non-traditional games in here, I'd love to see more games using basic HTML components; I think that kind of restriction forces you to be creative. I like the concept of this game a lot too, unfortunately I found it really, really difficult, even on the easy settings. Maybe I'm dumb, but I could only solve about half of the easy ones, and it took me a while. It would be cool if they started out being *really* simple, and slowly got harder so I could work my way up. Good job!

Matchbox by Sos 2013-12-16T07:57:00

This looks really cool, but as a Mac user I'm not sure if there's a way for me to run it?

Make Tetrominoes! by Crowbeak 2013-12-16T04:33:00

Clean and fun, more than I expected at first! I like the sounds especially. I was a bit confused by a couple little bugs (only one clears at a time, not able to re-choose after selected one block to place), but picked it up pretty quickly. Are the chinese (?) characters relevant too? Or are do they just indicate the color?

Shadow Night by ParaPup 2013-12-17T03:44:00

That black thing startled the crap out of me. Great sense of place with the rain and lantern. The lights turned pink when they were off, though? Overall fun stuff.

Super Alien Dungeon by TheColorMan 2013-12-17T03:25:00

Floor 14, 33 aliens, fun stuff!

PLANET HEALTH by kunzbe 2013-12-17T03:32:00

Cool stuff, I particularly like the idea of navigating by the stars, though I can't say I got familiar enough with the constellations to do it. Is there a way to not die? Fun just to spin around the globe and smush guys anyways.

Audio also didn't work for me, and I'm using Chrome.

parallelsync by 0x0961h 2013-12-16T06:10:00

Great game, love the unique mechanic (different from similar things I've seen before) and it's very well implemented. Have to say it's the first game I've played here that made me consider the nature of the space-time continuum, so that's gotta be worth some extra credit.

You Only Get 1 by Monoquartz 2013-12-16T06:50:00

I like the mechanic a lot; resizing based on pick-ups reminds me of Alice in Wonderland and could be a really good foundation for a puzzle game in the way that bigger = larger jump size, but less able to fit through gaps. Good stuff!

One Eye by kcpunk666 2013-12-16T05:59:00

Awesome blood fx & art, reminds me of meatboy. Gameplay is solid, but really tough.

UniSwarm by ChaseC 2013-12-16T07:10:00

Really like the look and minimalism, but it's difficult to figure out how to succeed. I understand the basic mechanic, but building on early progress is very hard. Love the general gameplay though, just need a bit more direction, I think.

Leap of Faith by Lustdante 2013-12-16T05:41:00

Very fun, and gorgeous pixel art. I couldn't make it to the end, must have died ten times on the rockets that come down vertically. Would love to see what came next though, the screen shot that looks like above ground is teasing me!

Monad by Piat 2013-12-16T05:05:00

Awesome work; an essentially fully functioning god game! The framework for a deep game is all there, and I'm amazed at how much you were able to get functional in 48 hours. (Also, I love the menu art, and the punniness)

Pellet Run by Brodenino 2013-12-16T06:15:00

I have to say playing this was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had yet. The physics feel right, and there's a decent amount of variety in the obstacles. I like the way the previous levels are "behind" the current one too. Good job!

Bowerbird Quest by mcapraro 2013-12-17T03:37:00

Fantastic art. It's a little too easy to pick up things by accident, but I suppose that's part of the challenge. The general mood is great, adding some calm music + little sfx would really take it to the next level. Love the background effect too. (Also your kid's off to a great early start)

Magnet Chan by jillytot 2013-12-16T05:37:00

The music & graphics set up the mood really nicely, and the gameplay is fun. I wish it was more clear which magnet you'd be attracted to when there are a lot of them out there, but I beat the whole game and enjoyed it. Cute character art too!

RSD by onemoar 2013-12-16T08:00:00

Fun game, but I'm not sure how to get farther than ~200.

Only One: A Gentleman's Game by DrPrettyPatty 2013-12-16T05:08:00

Awesome art, music, feel, and concept. The gameplay is simple, but enough to give me a solid giggle, and play through it three times. The insults are great.

The Day the Laughter Stopped by Crabman 2013-12-17T03:20:00

Extremely well executed, and I like the subversion of the "choice" mechanic. The flip side of that is that it lacks the hallmark of my favorite works of IF, which is the feeling that you're in control of the narrative. Still, a powerful work and awesome to see a more experimental work succeed in LD.

brick wall! by enderosc 2013-12-17T03:34:00

Great job, not a bad way to spend a weekend, huh?

You only get 1111 by funktor 2013-12-16T05:19:00

I get an error that the page contains a "redirect loop" when I try to download the OS X build. Would love to give it a shot, let me know if it's back up!

You only get 1111 by funktor 2013-12-16T05:46:00

The link works now! Very cool concept (for a nerdy audience at least), and a great use of the theme. The fast movement makes it really tricky, but I still played a bunch of rounds (didn't quite beat it though).

Dodge'n'Run by BillyTheCodingKid 2013-12-16T04:35:00

I wasn't able to download the OS X version from the link here, but the link on your site worked. The basic gameplay has something to it (classic evasion is always fun) but could use some additional obstacles, or some layer on top. I like the sprites quite a bit though, give it a nice whimsical flavor.

Choose Wisely by zconnelly13 2013-12-16T04:56:00

I love the general feeling of the game, like I'm in a meme-ified hand-drawn mario. The different upgrades are well-implemented too, though anyone who picks something other than kitteh needs their head examined.

Code Tower by madmaw 2013-12-16T06:58:00

The mechanic is well implemented; when you get a few good ones in a row it feels very satisfying, but the presentation doesn't give quite enough context for players unfamiliar with polish notation. The nature of polish notation means that operators on the right side of the board are unusable, which makes it tough to keep a streak going. Still, by far the most fun I've had with polish notation, and a more than worthwhile experience.

Holiday Chopper Frenzy by mcgraw 2013-12-16T04:40:00

Really nice use of physics with the chain/grabber thing, feels very fluid and fun to fly around with. I wish there was a little bit more to do with it, but I'm having a lot of fun just flying around. I spent wayyyy too much time trying to grab a turkey!

The Single Block by Static_boy123 2013-12-17T03:08:00

Cool mechanic, hampered a little bit by the physics. Fun stuff though and could easily add a lot more levels!

Make it count! by Kettlecorn 2013-12-16T05:17:00

Really like this one. The spy vs. spy aesthetic is great, and the silhouettes are animated in a way that gives them a lot of character. The gameplay is also very fun, gives you a little bit of a ninja feeling hopping around and shanking these guys. I wish you could knife someone before you use your gun, though, so you can save the shot for a tougher opponent to reach. The green level is really hard!

One bug: the level after the green level, where an enemy spawns semi-randomly in the level after you kill each one gets stuck for me about halfway through, so I can't beat it.

Fountain by Terry 2013-12-22T21:21:00

Fantastic, with a ton to explore and see. The little things like the audio and visual changes as the character ages add a lot to the experience.

Monocraft by MaTX 2013-12-22T21:16:00

Fun experiment; curious how people made the disconnected pieces?
