LD28 — You Only Get One

A shark ate your other oar: A game made in one hour. by Sestren 2013-12-16T09:00:00

I actually really like this! It has an amusing atmosphere and mood in a weird sort of way.

As WhoaConstrictor said, more levels / obstacles and this would be a really fun little game.

Monster Interceptor by ehtd 2013-12-16T07:48:00

Really great! Really polished all around, and I the laser was fun to get used to.

Deep Life by 01010111 2013-12-16T10:27:00

Great writing and a really cool concept for a game. The gameplay (or what there is of it) seems like it could be really fun as well.

One Shot by zzzev 2013-12-16T05:04:00

I like it a lot! (Actually my favorite so far, I'm a sucker for simple aesthetics)

I never really triggered the explosion though, most of the time I just collided with something by accident, which was a bit disappointing. Perhaps in a future build the player should just detonate when they hit something?

The feel of the controls and the aesthetics of the game are great though. Nice job!

I forgot to write this is my comment about, but I think it'd be a lot more fun if the difficulty scaled a bit quicker.

Smooth Operator by pjchardt 2013-12-16T09:38:00

This looks really cool! Local multiplayer games are the best. I plan on coming back to this later and rating it when I have a friend.

Xcape by syawqy 2013-12-16T09:09:00

Fun! Old-school crunchy noises are always pleasing.

One Sword by mybluecorners 2013-12-18T05:14:00

This game has changed the way I play this game. When I first played this game I slid to a stop and enjoyed this game to its fullest. I will be the same for never after this experience. Good work as always bluecorner.

PLANET HEALTH by kunzbe 2013-12-16T06:03:00

Nice use of three.js. It was a bit tough to figure out how to control things, and I couldn't seem to keep the planet alive. Are the planets procedural?, if so that's pretty cool.

Trick Shot by jayemjee 2013-12-16T05:13:00

I like the noises! The mechanic itself is a bit tricky as it's tough to predict exactly where you're going to shoot, but not a bad experience overall.

The Lone Tower by Masadow 2013-12-16T05:55:00

I hate tower defense games, but thankfully this is a parody of one. Nice job!

UniSwarm by ChaseC 2013-12-16T08:07:00

This is really cool! I love the simplicity, and with a little refinement I can see this having a ton of depth!

I feel that the theme may be a limiter here, and that perhaps moving beyond it could make the game better.

Monad by Piat 2013-12-16T06:24:00

I like this.

Pellet Run by Brodenino 2013-12-16T06:13:00

Charming! I really liked the music, and the gameplay was fun. It felt nice to control, which is great given the strong potential for a feeling of disconnect with the gameplay.

Clueless by m12y 2013-12-16T04:42:00

A cool idea! I can see this being quite fun. I like the use of the theme too. It's a neat concept to allow the player only one action, and their real involvement is investigative thinking.

Wall of Fingers by LTPATS 2013-12-16T09:06:00

Really cool! Fun to play, and a lot of polish given the time. Not sure how the theme applies (you only get one mask?), but eh, it was fun!

Flickeroid by rorycooke 2013-12-16T10:39:00

Cool visual style. It's super difficult if you try to stay near the center of the stage, but if you go up towards the upper right corner and camp it becomes incredibly easy.

The Black Lighthouse by funselektor 2013-12-16T04:32:00

Very nice visuals and style! The simplistic audio is quite charming and ominous as well.

Many Robots, One Laser by OmegaVesko 2013-12-16T10:34:00

The best strategy seems to be to just aim really directly at the wall forcing the bullet to bounce back and forth a lot. Cool game!

Triangle Shooter Gather Level FTW XX ! by wobbleboxx 2013-12-16T10:18:00

Fun little game in a Peggle-ish sort of way. Nice audio!

Touch by WhoaConstrictor 2013-12-16T09:19:00

Fantastic! I think this is my favorite entry so far.

I loved the zooming out, and I thought it was really great how you naturally and slowly discover that the impact of those that you've touched is greater than anything you can do on your own anymore. As the scale zoomed out I became progressively more in thought over the implications of the game and what it was demonstrating.

I was actually disappointed with the reveal at the end. I feel the "reveal" is too explicit in its interpretation, and there is more to draw from the game by leaving it vague.

As a side note, it made me briefly think about space colonization.

Refuge by chardish 2013-12-16T08:53:00

A really neat experience! I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I feel as if the decision you have to make comes a bit quickly. I had only talked to each character about once before I had to make a decision.

The scenario though does allow an imagination to wander. It's interesting to think about, but I'm not sure I was deciding the choice the game thought I was.

Great little experience overall though!

Refuge by chardish 2013-12-16T08:55:00

I forgot to say it in my last comment, but I really liked the geometric backgrounds as well!

Last Minute Christmas Chopping by Notch 2013-12-16T08:40:00

I like the visual style and atmosphere. The snow particles are a nice touch.

The gameplay itself is a bit monotonous, but perhaps with refinement it could be enjoyable. I feel like the density of objects makes it tough to see ahead and to plan, which makes the game feel a bit frustrating at times, but of course we can't always have what is ideal given 48 hours!

One Button Metroidvania by mokesmoe 2013-12-16T05:29:00

Overall pretty great! A lot of clever mechanics here, and it is undoubtedly a one-button metroidvania. I did give up eventually, but I played for about 20-30 minutes first.

Nice job!

Make it count! by Kettlecorn 2013-12-16T04:54:00

@Cherno

Thanks for the feedback. The enemies are a bit tricky, although initially they literally were aimbots, it was terrifying.

Guns should drop everytime if they are carrying a gun, but sometimes enemies pick up guns. There also might be a bug, it's not unlikely.

Make it count! by Kettlecorn 2013-12-16T06:33:00

@ParaPup

Enter to reload was not intended, and that's a silly glitch.

Enter is mapped to the second player's gun, and when you're on a single player level I just move the second player far away. The thing is, in multiplayer firing a bullet gives the other play a bullet, and it still works when you're in single player apparently.

AAAAARGH! by Waynetron 2013-12-16T05:09:00

Overall quite charming! It's an amusingly dramatic way to fight aerial warfare.

Also, am I allowed to shoot enemy ships just for fun?

Objectless by lucars83 2013-12-16T04:58:00

Nice style. It seems like it could go interesting places.
