LD21 — Escape

Mission: Earth Escape by Laksen 2011-08-23T05:39:00

The concept is certainly interesting, but some things don't make sense; like why do I have to pay for engines and brakes again? Surely I should only have to pay for fuel and upgrades? With some tweaking it could be way more fun.

Failed Turn-based Space Combat by roBurky 2011-08-23T16:01:00

Really cool idea, but there is no game :'(

Prison Break by Valeour 2011-08-23T05:19:00

Runs at about 1FPS on my Windows 7 machine, the side bar menu takes about 5 seconds to come out, so it's unplayable for me.

ESCAPE by alfie275 2011-08-22T17:15:00

The combat system is pretty cool, but you definitely need more instructions, as I sent about a minute trying to figure out how to fight a brick wall. Also, the leveling is a bit broken, because once you fight about 10 guards you can kill them all by just holding down attack without taking any damage.

Cave Runner by DecsterB 2011-08-26T15:09:00

Not bad, but the movement felt like everything was taking place on the moon, which actually made it more tedious to play than if it were twice the speed(I imagine).

Escape at Faermort by kinshuk 2011-08-23T05:48:00

Where's the gameplay? I just point toward the compass marker and win? The plane's controls are pretty sweet, as it feels really heavy, and the shooting is pretty cool. But beyond that, there doesn't seem to be much.

=-=Solar Escape=-= by Lenthan 2011-08-27T07:15:00

The way the objects teleport onto the screen rather than scroll into it is rather annoying.

LD23 — Tiny World

Disregard All Humans by Fireblend 2012-04-23T05:08:00

A very solid game! The graphics have a nice style that's clean and consistent. The dinosaur's animation would be a bit better, maybe have some kind of stomping and eating animation? After reading the description, I have to say that I didn't get the feeling my dinosaur was getting bigger, it just seemed like the planet was getting smaller (the moon background stayed the same size).

Cereal Prize Astronaut by MutagenMan 2012-04-23T10:22:00

Yeah the controls and collision detection ruin it. I like the lighting, but otherwise there isn't really much to do.

Tiny God : Small Diety, Big Pantheon by Lacutis 2012-04-23T06:03:00

Pretty good. What are the enemy wave sizes based on? The first time I played it, I got through it very quickly because I'm pretty sure only 5-10 or so enemies spawned at most per wave. Then when I play it a 2nd time each wave gives me 10-20 enemies making it much harder. Either way, it's an interesting game, it could use some better media though!

Invaders From Space by smvilar 2012-04-23T13:09:00

The art style is very nice, and it's pretty well polished, but the enemy dudes are just too annoying. Once they reach you, you have no close range fighting ability which makes it rather frustrating trying to kill them as one mistake can get you killed very very quickly. Also maybe it's just me, but I don't think the fixed rotation camera suits this kind of game. However, I will say that the bullets arcing around the surface is awesome!

Pixel MMO by daniel 2012-04-23T06:09:00

Pretty unplayable for me due to the lag and lack of client-side simulation, but the webpage is very nice!

Pico Planets by brianshaler 2012-04-23T04:39:00

It's a solid game, all it needs is a few more hours polish to make it stand out. As mentioned above, you really missed out on some potential comedy gold!

Tiny Vessels by xel 2012-04-23T05:30:00

Very nice aesthetics, combined with the music and story it sets a great mood. But this isn't a game.

Planet Trot by Logan 2012-05-08T06:49:00

It has a very nice aesthetic, but the way you handle the planetary rotation makes it too annoying when you essentially get stick at the poles.

Big Space Tiny Man by invaderJim 2012-04-23T08:05:00

Very funny, I loved the sun and moon! The way the inhabitants climb onto your mask is awesome, but I couldn't figure out how to beat the game once you collect all the parts?

TinyFish by Werxzy 2012-04-23T05:47:00

It has potential, but right now there doesn't seem to be any goal. I like that you can kill the other fish, in fact you can pretty much solo all of them except the big white ones (maybe if you used the rocks you could solo them?). The game art is also very nice.

Urth Defense by kylerhoades 2012-04-23T04:54:00

I got 700!

At first I thought it was very difficult, but then the 2nd time I won quite easily. Once you get the weapon upgrades (especially the 2nd) it becomes a bit too easy. The game itself is well-rounded, but nothing really stands out: the enemies could be more interesting, the music doesn't really fit, there could be a bit more work on the graphics, and I'm not really fond of the control scheme.

Snow Globe Kerfuffle by j_peeba 2012-04-23T05:21:00

Very good! I especially liked the music and the snow globe glass breaking. My main gripe is that the gameplay and difficulty didn't really change during any of the 10 or so levels I played, so I got bored. The enemy, rock, and player graphics could also do with improvement.

Tiny God by davidwparker 2012-04-24T02:18:00

Looks pretty cool, but there isn't much to do. The particles also slow it down a bit when you click on loads of planets (on my PC at least).

LD28 — You Only Get One

singleton by berkano 2013-12-16T15:46:00

I love this style of game, it has so much potential to be expanded. My only major gripe is the unintuitive menu system.

YOGO Cookie by Lacutis 2013-12-18T05:08:00

I normally don't like stealth games, but it was more fun than I expected. I don't understand the title though, because I have to get more than one cookie?

Coin by jarnik 2013-12-23T10:20:00

I thought it was going to be a puzzle game so I chose to scratch the car, thinking that was the only option that allowed me the keep the penny. I was wrong :(

Dirt Cheap Dungeon by dalbinblue 2013-12-16T07:17:00

Cool game. I noticed that when changing rooms the rocks and enemies disappear, but the hidden items remain, so it's possible to spot where they are by changing rooms.

One Chance by Huskitch 2013-12-16T08:21:00

Cool game, it's very serene! With a bit more polish and a less abrupt ending it could be even better. Nice looking planet btw ;)

Doubloon Dash by George 2013-12-16T12:41:00

There should be a warning when you hit the shore, because I was very confused the first few times I played. There also needs to be some kind of objective. Also, I wasn't able to activate the Easter egg, or maybe I missed it?

A Trip To The Moon by Dayko 2013-12-17T09:33:00

Cool stuff, but when I got to the moon my screen just turned grey.

Azimuth Zero by Joror 2013-12-16T14:53:00

I liked the gameplay, but the UI was too confusing. Near the end I got about 5 different messages on top of each other and I couldn't read what any of them said. Also, I couldn't figure out how to break resource connections.

Pixel Factory by ZwodahS 2013-12-16T06:56:00

It works for me on Windows 8. But it was incredibly difficult to understand at first, even after reading your description. After about 5 minutes of trying to make sense of it I was able to make a working machine, but I quickly found myself running out of money due to the poor chip draws. A game like this really needs a tutorial!

The Hotdog Parable by SunShiranui 2013-12-21T14:44:00

Very very good! The main complaint I have is that when opening the right menu it sometimes/often clicked something while expanding, which was particularly annoying when I unintentionally buy flyers or something.

The Last Rock by JaviCepa 2013-12-16T09:00:00

If LD had a 'Satisfying' rating, you'd get 5 stars from me. I didn't think you could top the sound of the zombies dying as your thow the rock-thing through a group of them... until the bulldozer.

One Shot. One Kill. by shatley123 2013-12-16T12:16:00

Cool concept, it's strangely addictive.

YOGOS - YouOnlyHaveOneShield by Muciojad 2013-12-17T09:47:00

Pretty cool upgrades, but the game itself is too repetitive.

Jameson The Pilot by rezoner 2013-12-17T06:53:00

Very nice. Some of these trade routes were way too profitable though, and every time I right clicked in Chrome the context menu would pop up.

Tether by orbitantlers 2013-12-17T06:17:00

It looks great, but after running it three times and making sure I read your instructions correctly, I still have no idea what to do. Pressing the arrow keys does nothing for me, pressing x sometimes thrusts, and cutting the tether seems to be the only thing that works as expected. Maybe this game is amazing, but with completely unintuitive controls with close to zero feedback from the stated inputs, it's unplayable.

One Earth, One Defender by Mental Atrophy 2013-12-16T12:22:00

I really like the aesthetics, but I don't see how you can reach a million without the ability to buy better weapons or something.

Cyclopses Versus the Gangs of Neptune by wespaugh 2013-12-16T08:02:00

The game works well, it just needs a ton more polish. The way you have to move to the single pixel at the edges to go back to the map screen is silly. The final boss is pretty ridiculous, he does almost no damage yet takes hundreds of hits to kill which is tedious, especially without a health bar. I like the way you can send mobs to a different zone. Shame about the ripped sprites!

Planet LD-28 by Tragon 2013-12-16T08:54:00

Frustratingly interesting :) The options screen was a nice touch, but there needs to be some sort of goal.

Element Fighter by smash ball 2013-12-19T18:46:00

Cool concept, though I didn't like that shooting caused all your ammo to get discharged.

In Space by Hermes 2013-12-17T09:39:00

Does this require a controller? Nothing I pressed could make the ship move up or down.

Unibrow by ViliX64 2013-12-16T06:11:00

Nice game, the only issue I had was sometimes it's a bit hard to see which plane the items were on, perhaps separating them more would make this easier. I also noticed I can get negative coins and negative minutes remaining.

Nent by Zolmeister 2013-12-16T07:36:00

The core game is really good, but the controls are really bad for people that don't have three hands. Also, the max speed upgrade doesn't even allow you to outrun enemies which makes it rather ineffective.

Light and Mirrors by Pantzar 2013-12-16T08:08:00

Haha, the particle count is ridiculous! Cool game, though instead of skill it felt more like trial an error to get the angle just right.

Startrader by Nessic 2013-12-16T15:59:00

The control scheme annoyed me the most. You should either add keyboard controls to move around, or allow click and drag. The concept was very nice though. Also, doesn't the 'Stave off Death' button just kill you?

Life Boat by Move127 2013-12-16T06:21:00

It started off good, but once I finished the conversation trees I got bored pretty quick.

One Job One Shot by BluShine 2013-12-16T08:47:00

Awesome idea, though I'm so bad at it that I can't beat level 4.

Seed of One by Artguy 2013-12-16T07:45:00

Cool game. Though mouse sensitivity for panning is too low, and transferring strength to the front of your structure is a bit tedious.

Buy the World by Ymir 2013-12-17T20:47:00

This game is actually really addicting. I got to *ahem* turn 1500+ and gave up. I managed to get 50% of the money to buy Earth, but the strategy required to buy it was too ridiculous. Basically I ended up at the stage where the best thing I could buy was Tundra, but that was always around 1% the value of Earth, so to win I had to buy at least 100 of them, but doing that is difficult because they only come up 15% or so of the time, so I had to shuffle the shop hundreds of times, and make sure my inventory didn't get filled up with too much crap (else the price of Earth might go up more than the amount you sold the other Tundras for). I gave up shortly after realizing this.

Serious Surgery by FrozenCow 2013-12-17T06:02:00

I found the controls pretty frustrating at times, and the levels would use indicator to show you where to go, but it's an interesting take on the platformer genre.

Dungeon Raider by The Evil Cult 2013-12-23T09:52:00

The engine and graphics are very nice, but I found the combat to be annoying due to the awkward attacking. While impressive for 72hrs, the gameplay itself was way too easy and repetitive. If you cut two levels from the game and added some stronger enemies into the mix then this would have been a lot better. I also questioned why there was so much gold on every floor when there's practically no use for it.
