Seems amazing. Shame it's only for android...

devwouter 2012-08-28 20:12

No Android.

willx 2012-08-28 20:37

Android?

science4cake 2012-08-28 21:06

Any chance of getting a qr code for this so I don't have to manually push it to my phone?

guardian_bob 2012-08-28 21:23

No QR code needed, just e-mail yourself and hit the link.

I hit a bug where the map flashed on either side of the yellow line. The controls are not refined.

paulsb 2012-08-28 21:33

Took me a good while to work out what was going on with the movement: the dark walls are almost invisible on my screen. After that I struggled around a bit, got some parts off greys but it was all a bit of a struggle I'm afraid. With some touching up it could be pretty cool!

tehskull 2012-08-28 22:37

The movement is fairly bugged, the attack is difficult to perform considering you have to be facing the right direction as the NPC is right next to you. That's a rare scenario considering the NPCs are constantly moving. Beyond that, might I suggest Corona SDK to you? Makes development so much simpler.

mottmatt 2012-08-28 23:01

No android here.

moomoo112 2012-08-28 23:25

buggy movement how? trying to fix that is what took up all my time..
the attack definitely sucks and will be changed in a post-compo version, in fact the whole killing thing will be revamped, and a map added cuz i don't think any of you know where the white npc are..

ghribacki 2012-08-28 23:30

Limiting it to the Android platform wasn't really smart, as I don't think too many people will try it out. I did and I actually liked the game, but the control is hard and sometimes the screen turns black and the gray NPCs are back. I didn't know if it had an ending so I gave up.

I like the visual style though a little confusing, took me little time to figure walls, doors and trees out. =)

Next time try to get a larger audience!

moomoo112 2012-08-28 23:39

yeah, I knew the audience was going to be small going in, but I wanted a bit of a leap into android programming.
controls and color are on that list of revamps too..
And it doesn't end, you can't win, nor die for that matter..

susanthecat 2012-08-28 23:43

I found it a tiny bit disturbing that I was running around chopping people up. :)

whilefun 2012-08-28 23:56

I can't play it :( No Android...

science4cake 2012-08-29 17:10

I love the concept, but the controls were really spotty. Combine that with my older model droid 2, and it was barely playable. I'd love to see a rework of this on the play market! :)

bvanschooten 2012-08-29 19:37

It works well on my tablet. I like the presentation and mood of the game. Pity you didn't get more of it finished.

smirnov48 2012-08-29 20:03

I couldn't found white pixel. It isn't easy. But I like the concept and graphics. I amazing how quickly canvas works on my Desire. I think, it will be better if you add a menu and attack animation.

demonpants 2012-08-30 17:40

Another Android game! I wish I had a device to try this on. You should look into Kevin Glass's pipeline for coding once for Android / Applet / iOS (code the game in Java).

yakka 2012-08-31 11:58

I love this kind of mazes! Unfortunately, I didn't understand the gameplay. Sometimes I can pass through a block, sometimes not; sometimes I kill a monster, sometimes not. Maybe not enough feedback on player actions?

angrygeometry 2012-08-31 12:11

no android! upload a vid!

lesterpig 2012-08-31 13:57

Crontrols are very ... weird. And the game is quickly boring. Need some sound ! :)

elbowroom 2012-09-01 06:10

I think you did well taking this opportunity to make an android game. First I will congratulate you on completing a playable beta. :) It feels kind of like the begining of a roguelike / Beat'em up sort of thing. Not a bad idea. What was missing is a goal of some sort that is clear. I also think having the control on the corner of the screen is not so intuitive to the player. Simply letting you press where you want to go and attack on the screen itself would be much more fun. Best of luck.

hgcummings 2012-09-01 12:45

I liked the fairly sinister mood of the game and can see what you were going for with the gameplay you didn't manage to complete. I also don't think there's anything wrong with making an Android game if that's what you wanted to do (Ludum Dare is about individuality, IMO). The graphics were slightly confusing initially (it took me a while to realize which terrain was passable and which wasn't), although once I'd got used to it I started seeing it in terms of buildings with rooms. Was the map procedurally generated? - Would be neat if so, although I did spot one NPC in a room with no entry points. I agree with elbowroom that the controls could do with a bit more work. If you are making an Android game then you might as well take advantage of the touch screen, rather than sticking with the idea of pressing keys/buttons.

josh-dreamland 2012-09-01 22:12

I suppose this means you can't just build for other platforms?

moomoo112 2012-09-02 07:01

Thanks for the feedback, is Very nice to have, and I will work with it in mind for the post-version.
The map is not dynamic, I had someone paint it for me, so the mistakes are just funny to find, and the whole thing will be reworked anyways, along with better explanation of what's happening.
And josh@d, no I can't, I didn't use an engine for this, I coded everything myself in android's java, if you look at the source it is an Eclipse project.

gamblore 2012-09-04 04:02

Good on you for doing an Android game, I also did one for this LD48. The controls for this were pretty rough and unresponsive though. It did eventually crashed on me as well.

myachin 2012-09-13 00:23

no android) sorry

jplur 2012-09-13 23:57

ran smooth, wasn't thrilled with the gameplay but I like this visual style and could see this turning into something.

Liked that it was for android, going to take a look at your source now ;)

nuria 2012-09-17 17:24

No android. Try to have a more popular format so we can play and rate it.
