I couldn't figure out how to be sustainable after 3 runs. I was probably trying to expand to quickly with markets. Very nice looking game.

As Felicity gains new powers, you have to discover the way to use the power. Jumping higher is automatic but shows the white aura to alert the player that something is special here after picking up the power. This helps the player learn to try and discover other abilities without having to explicitly tell them this. This is brilliant game design.
The visuals are lovely. I especially loved the lava pits. You can see the seams of the level tiles because of the missing inside corner tiles but that just stems from trying to get it done in 48 hours. The tileset is lovely.
I found Boss 4 to be much harder than Boss 5.
I discovered one defect where if Felicity caused a block to fall, that was over a transition pit, Felicity would then stand on the block that is at the bottom, just off the screen. You could not initiate the down room transition any more. Not a big issue as I could jump out of that pit at that one point.
I enjoyed playing this. Great job.
Is the character a guy, naked, and erect? Killing zombies gets him so excited! haha. I like that there are other humans running around naked too. I like to run with them, then run away from them so the zombies chase him instead of me. A good survival tactic for when you run out of ammo.
I was able to make it to level 3. The first level was overly difficult because the controls felt loose. I think it is maybe the player acceleration that felt off.
There are a lot of grammatical errors in the text.
Good on you for doing an Android game, I also did one for this LD48. The controls for this were pretty rough and unresponsive though. It did eventually crashed on me as well.
I don't understand how to kill the no weapon person with the cowboy suit. That gun was not that great. Going back to the knife felt way too difficult. Graphics were really good.
I found the combat was a little too hard. Especially bats and your floating jump. I ended up taking a lot of damage and dying. Good work on the theme and story.
Why did I give up buoyancy in the second round! That ability makes the game much easier, especially paired with fast movement. Buoyancy is the best of the ability in my opinion. I wish you could re-choose the abilities to lose and gain, like at the start of a level, when you die so that you can "evolve" to meet the needs of the level. Instead I found my self guessing what would be handy/cool. Although I bet the levels are doable with out any of the traits any way.
This was a fun game and the music was pretty good too.
That tic-tac-toe line printer animation is awesome. Although I won the game, and the line printer said I won, it said I lost and made me restart.
Love the three-headed monkey. One of my favourite Monkey Island recurring gag.
Wolf3d didn't seem to let me shoot the red blocks half the time. So I would die. :( The facial art was well done. I don't know if it is possible to beat this level.
Nice variety of games and gameplay.
Sorry about that. I can understand that frustration.
If you really want to try it you can use the Android emulator that is in the Android SDK. http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
kirill: Nice! Battles did feel a little long but I wasn't able to tweak the gameplay the way I needed to in the 48 hours to change that. The 8 boss scientists were randomly created at development time, as I was running out of time. So they are not that difficult. If I had more time I would have crafted the enemies manually so that some were stronger than others, and make it more of a challenge. My FlashPunk port made it just as easy to make as a Flash game.
Thanks for playing it to completion. :)
Enough people have asked so here is what the chemicals do.
Red: Attack Damage (small decrease in critical rate)
Yellow: Critical Rate (small decreases in attack damage and hp)
Green: Attack Speed this decreases time between attacks (small decreases in HP and critical rate)
Blue: Hit Points (small decrease in attack speed)
Yea, I didn't know how to have player interaction during a shogun-style battles (or if it was needed). I didn't have the time to think of and balance those mechanics. What I had was what I figured I could accomplish in the weekend. If I do anything after this I will look into that.
I think there might be some legal issues with a bundle. I'll look into that for next time.
@jplur Yellow potion is critical chance. Every once and a while an ant will flash white and do double damage. More yellow in the system the more it will happen. Thanks for playing.
Decent. I had many deaths before I made it to the unfinished end. The castle level was kind of annoying because you couldn't tell, on your first time through, which blocks were going to drop.. You had to just see (after many deaths) that they were always the blocks that had spikes below them. Fun game, I liked the sprite animations.
I feel as though I could last forever standing on the first block that is just right from the start (you can fall onto it after spawning). It may be better if you spawned on the ground so the attack fish could get you if you do not run away. Could have used a bit more challenge in my opinion, more toxic waste would have done it. Good work though.
Just a few minutes but I didn't need to move so I ran into an attack fish to end it.
At first I didn't understand but I caught on. It looks like the orange pucks match to the red dots. Expansive world. Fun times.
I just can't get test 5. I got there on my like 5th evolution and now I am on like 40. Kinda boring when I can get through the first 4 so easy but just can't make the shot to get the first dot on test 5. Good game though just wish there was a skip level when you don't need experience any more and just want to get more chances at the one you can't win yet.
Side note: On the enhanced version I won in 15 evolutions. Great stuff.
Solid. I really enjoy the PW:AA series and this was quite well done. Interesting story too.
Pretty cool. Wasn't quite sure I wanted anything other than plants. They are easy to maintain. Extinction happened but I am unsure as to why. There still seemed to be some creatures left. I got around ~500 points on the first try.
This style of game is the game I wish I made with my LD48. I didn't know how to do the controls but you have the right idea with moving the whole colony to the location. I decided to go with more of a long game strategy (picking which evolution group to fight next) but I don't think it paid off as the my battles were pretty boring and long (I also ran out of time to balance the game). Congrats, I really enjoyed it.
Interesting visual style. Was not able to get that far. The compiler menu didn't open anything and my instruction disappeared from the linker menu. I think the controller look sensitivity was too high for my preference but the mouse controls were good.
Would be cool if the parts you pick up change the way the player moves. For example makes the player moves faster or jumps higher. I like that the final area is a level editor.
I thought a red and blue would eventually make a new purple egg. Found out they are their own base species that requires an egg drop to get more. Lightning was pretty annoying to use. I ended up using the climates to mass kill instead. Neat little game.
Movement was ok. I think player acceleration from dead stop could have been a little tighter/faster. The music was cool and the sprites are nice.
Great game. Was kind of frustrating waiting for your sick people to change floors but not too bad. I dug the music and the animations were good. I won with maximum sneeze and base vomit. Sneeze when it gets the range increase is great, nice and direct. Thanks for making this.
Having the debt hit at the end of the year makes that first year a mad dash to build things. You need to build enough so that you can build things in the last month of the next year. You do this for 10 years or so until you have filled the map densely. The rest of the game is spent demolishing a flower, then rebuilding it to prevent earthquakes. :) After 32 years I have $106k and $145k debt. So I figure I have beaten the game by this point.
My town is now "booming" :)
Arrow keys are great to use in platformers, especially if you have other buttons to hit (like slow down). Found it awkward to hit space and jump to the side all with one hand. Also most platformers jump when you hit the button down, not just if the button is held down. Personally I would have prefered space,x -> jump, shift,z -> slow, arrows -> left and right.
Slowing down time didn't feel necessary on most levels. Except to re-adjust things because the levels do not reset when you die. Found it easier just to die strategically to at a point where the enemies are mostly reset.
Good job though, I played it to the end.
