Cute art style. Cute music. I felt the gameplay was a bit too confusing. It was never really clear to me why two poggles would have a child or what to expect when they did. Likewise, I never figured out how to change the climate of the stage. As I was typing this I left the game running and won! Probably a sign that something isn't right ;-) I would try to make things feel a bit less random.

Interesting idea and fun to play... I had a ton of Poggle, but didn't really figure out how to win though (I didn't even have one of the three required).

shmarah 2012-08-27 03:29

This was fun, but it could use a few more factors other than climate; like, perhaps changing it so there's food that grows on trees or food that grows on bushes, and if the area has trees the short poggles die, and if the area has bushes, the tall poggles die. (Of starvation) Overall, very addicting!

Cool game. :)

My only gripe was with crowd control. The cloud was somewhat insufficient, and climate control is more of a "kill everything"-button. Something in between would've been great, I think.

raptor85 2012-08-27 06:57

This is actually pretty challenging...once you figure out how to use the mountains and scaring them it's pretty cool though.

gamblore 2012-08-27 15:38

I thought a red and blue would eventually make a new purple egg. Found out they are their own base species that requires an egg drop to get more. Lightning was pretty annoying to use. I ended up using the climates to mass kill instead. Neat little game.

I spent about 20 minutes killing things and changing climates without ever seeing a single one of my target species.

I guess my first mistake was assuming the colors needed to blend. Beyond that, I never seemed to get furry ones if I needed them, only furless ones of the same color that never seemed to make what I needed. Interesting idea, just didn't have any fun.

Very pretty, and a cool little game once I worked out what was going on

kirill 2012-08-27 19:09

Most well executed theme I've seen so far !!!
A beautiful game to play: quite fun :)
I tend to clean them all out and then start small, isolate, kill-off with lightning and viola!
What could be improved would be a tutorial - maybe a few demo moves or something - not just a bunch of text.

kirill 2012-08-27 19:17

ps. sometimes they just don't want to mate no matter what... (with just 2 left). a bug?

markavian 2012-08-27 21:50

Love the graphics and puzzle. I felt a bit frustrated by the ever multiplying poggles. I think if you changed the breeding mechanic to a manual one of, say, dragging a poggle into another poggle to force them to breed, it'd make the game a bit simpler, and allow the player to plan better. Zapping was fun, but slow. Instead I preferred to go for mass extinctions using the terrain modifiers, they were really cool.

renatopp 2012-08-27 22:48

Oh man, they are like mutant rabbits! A lot of child per second! Haha. I spent some time to understand how to control all aspects of the game, but after all, it is pretty simple and funny.

This is an adorable entry and a pretty fun game! Playing at natural selection with the Poggles did not get old for a long time.
I enjoyed the music too, but I played for long enough that I had to turn it off so as not to annoy others. ;)

kassoon 2012-08-29 05:35

I felt kind of bad striking down the cute critters. Neat idea, I could see it turning into a really fun and unique game with some more mechanics and refinement. Cool entry!

gnx 2012-08-30 10:28

Original art style. Nicely presented from the GUI to all the animations and sound.
Gameplay is confusing because there are so many poggles and you're not sure as a player what is helping your objective :D

dengzo 2012-08-30 18:18

very good job!

nseward 2012-08-30 21:39

I loved this game. I just spent 30 minutes playing. It was hard to target with the cloud when you got too many Poggles.

madflame991 2012-09-02 15:18

I really liked the game even from the Beta. However, I don't like that you have to wait for the cloud to charge up... in this respect the beta was better. Also, clicking on creatures to prevent them from mating is a bit useless as you have to keep pressing the cloud and that takes so long.. All in all, a very nice game I enjoyed!

puzzlem00n 2012-09-03 03:27

Incredible simulation of intelligent design and evolution as one... It shows a lot about how games can give us basic understanding of these concepts. For example, keeping a much smaller climate where your Poggles can survive increases control over breeding, much like a laboratory. Amazing.

From a casual gamer's point of view, it's pretty good, too!

marudziik 2012-09-08 10:57

Huh! Our games use the same mechanics, actually, so it's no secret that I really like your entry. Great minds think alike, I suppose! :) But yeah, your entry is great - the graphics (animations!) are awesome and the game gives player a little more control over mating (this is a GREAT idea, I've done something like this only in the post-compo version).

That being said, it does suffer from similar flaws as my own game, of which main two are: the overall feel that achieving the goal might be pretty random (and somewhat independent of the player), and (still) to little control over mating and which Poggle dies and which doesn't (lightning bug + it takes time to load). I tried to battle similar flaws in my own entry, but I'm still not entirely sure there's a good way to do it.

Overall, the idea is perfect (I should know), this is as close to the theme as it gets, graphics are awesome, there's even some music. It's fun to play, but it's still more of a simulation than a game, so it targets a specific group of people, I suppose (like me). Should I add that I loved it? :P Great job!

pierrec 2012-09-08 15:26

Reminds me of marudziik game I played earlier. I don't know which I love the best ^^ So similar and so different at the same time.

maple 2012-09-10 20:46

Pretty good entry. I guess the only thing few things to complain about would be the lightning taking a long time to charge, and sometimes it would take 2 creatures forever to engage in hot steamy sex, and other times everyone just couldnt get enough, and eggs would spawn INTO baby making sequences, and creatures would be popping up everywhere, haha. So I guess it was a little weird how that happened (Or maybe I'm misinterpreting? Do different types of creatures simply not engage?) Also, the climate change thing was a good idea, but it was kinda pointless; Whith the goal requiring a furry or not, then there is no point to have the climate support the other type, right? So I would just make the climate of the whole stage support the goal creature. The climate change would have been good if there were simultaneously more than one goal creature, and were different types. A cool feature would have been to mate creatures by clicking on one, dragging the mouse and then releasing on another one. Would have made things quicker and easier. But yeah, overall, nice entry.

robcozzens 2012-09-10 23:28

Pretty cool man!

atraxgames 2012-09-14 13:53

It's similar to mine. And this is good.

jedi 2012-09-16 04:30

I really like it but I was disappointed to see that you made the player charge up the lightning bolt. What purpose does that serve, aside from frustrating the player?

I played the game when it was still a WIP and actually liked it more at the time because there was no delay for the lightning.

Also, the music is choppy for me (Firefox 15).

Very clever use of the theme, 5*!
