This engine is pretty impressive, I liked the main idea. Some puzzles are a bit tedious but still tolerable. I think adding better control when you blast particles would help, or some cursor that indicates the direction, as it's not easy to tell what direction you are gonna blast them towards otherwise. Good idea, solid implementation!
The basic idea isn't bad, the execution wasn't very good. I hope you can work on it more and you may have a good game here! :*
This was cool! The time pressure kinda killed the exploration sense I was starting to enjoy. Game with more levels (screens) so far :)
I really liked the idea, screen size was kind of a bad choice (I know you can make it smaller, but that was way too small) I dunno about the dead bodies, I couldn't make it that far, is there some tip to get past the first screen with the 3 enemies?
Good visuals and atmosphere. I felt a bit uneasy in there, maybe that was the point? A bit monotonous at times too, but overall pretty cool. :)
I hope you can finish this up someday, I think you have something going on, it just needs lots of more time to be developed. Keep it up! Nice music btw
I liked how you managed to add dialogs without pausing the action. I missed the sound, but I know it's tough with so little time... Game mechanics are cool too, good job! :)
Pretty original, nice retro arcade feel, I would love if it had some music and also I didn't like that you had to use your mouse to go to the next level, a key press would've been much better. But, pretty awesome! Cheers! :D
Very simple, but a good start. A simple finished entry is always better than an amazing unfinished plan. Keep it up!
Not bad, isn't too fun for long though. Why is the file so big? Now that's a mystery... :) thanks for finishing on time.
I agree the smooth movement would make it better. As it is, the enemy is really hard to dodge and makes the game a bit annoying. The idea isn't that bad so it's worth working on it a bit. Cool tune!
Great concept! Simple to play, addictive, fun. Probably the LD21 game I've enjoyed the most so far. Congrats! :D
The engine is pretty good, I like how the level renders, not allowing you to see all the screen but little by little. The game could use a strafe button too. Nice skill showcase!
Supreme graphics and style! :)
This one was cool. Nice game/level design skills. Good looks. music was good albeit tracks were a bit too short. Some collision problems but that's it. Good job! ;)
Nice graphics! The press up on title screen to start is little intuitive, I was pressing everything but up never crossed my mind as arrows were used to move cursor.
Original and well executed, I agree with the field of view comment. Good little game. :D
I really like the vibe of this, great job, I hope you can finish it up!
awesome, very enjoyable, this has a lot of style, you gotta try it.
Not a very fun game but the story was funny :)
Cool game! I liked the color choice and the puzzles, the village seems unnecessarily big and some of the puzzles could be a bit less annoying (some require you to repeat the same action several times). You could use less keys as well (2 keys for talking?). Still, great job!
Fun and interesting, a bit annoying you can only carry 1 item at a time though. Good job!
I'm like the anti-player for this kind of games, Not my kind at all, lots of trial and error and stuff, I couldn't even use or get to the staircase. Still I found it a bit annoying that you are reminded constantly to type help to access the help menu. Like every time you input some command. Just have that message written on the side.
Cool graphics, good mood, the mechanics are interesting, loved how the enemies approached from the dark and disappeared under the light, feels kinda scary. Good entry!
I like the whole concept, this is similar to my game and I certainly think I can borrow some of your ideas :p
I really hope you can finish this up, it has a lot of potential if you can dedicate more time to it.
I agree with all the comments before mine and would also suggest you could make the transitions between some scenes less abrupt (especially the music changes).
Seems like it pays off to have kids after all, you now have a little army of game devs working for you heh heh way to go!
Buggish. I would get constant blank screens and the music keeps on playing after closing the tab where the game was running.
I like the mood and the music and how talkative the cat is without repeating itself. The controls make it hard to jump on those small platforms, also the blue color is hard too see when you play this during the day but overall it's a nice little game, congrats :)
I like the depth effect on the stars
lameo -_-
good looking game, the idea isn't bad, but needs more time to be executed better. Sound is good but the music loop was too short and got tiring quickly. I would love to see a shoot key added, constantly clicking the mouse button is uncomfortable to some of us. good work!
I really like the concept, this could be a good base for a rogue-like game. I think it would be better if you inverted the colors (so anything outside the circle is black -it helps the you-are-in-a-dark-dungeon vibe-). Nice!
I like the idea of the engine, of course you didn't have the time to implement it well (normal, no one does). But with more work this could turn out pretty well. Keep it up ;D
I like the game mechanics, I think they could fit a RTS or tower defense game very well. Pretty good!
I liked the movement of the ship too and the particle effects
:/
cool music, game made not much sense. You shouldn't use a different key for every action. It was really annoying to have to press Y after dying to restart because it makes you reposition your hands on the keyboard every time. Put more time into planning, so things turn out better next time, congrats on finishing!
Audio, visuals and notes combined well to create a good creepy mood. I'm not totally sure what the point is, the city is so repetitive, big and endless it creates a feeling of uneasiness. Probably that was the point, and it totally succeeded at that. Not a fun game, but a good experience. One of the best I've tried so far, congrats!
Very good graphics! The controls were not good though, I don't think using the mouse was all that necessary. In general a cool little game, well done!
I didn't get what the point was, it has a very unique style, though. Good experience :D
I think the camera spins way too fast while the character is initially too slow, so it's a bit hard to control the action. Seems like a good base for a bigger game, congrats on finishing! ;D Also, change your link to say Web instead of Windows so more people get to play!
I didn't get the punch/pet thing either. The game was, however, very charming and those aliens look pretty cool.
No android. Try to have a more popular format so we can play and rate it.
Not much of a game here, but visually impressive. The audio is awesome too. Well done, man!
Cool intro! I like tower defense games, this one is very basic due to limited time, I hope you can work on expanding it more! Good job!
It says it's not a valid Win32 application and won't let me run it. :( (I'm on Windows XP SP3)
Crashed on Firefox twice, the last one froze my PC. :(
I agree it's way too fast. With some balance could end being a fun game. Good job! :)
The basic game mechanic is cool, reminded me of Gish somehow. I agree the controls can be improved. Some variety would help too, overall solid entry! - You shouldn't update your compo entry, that should be left untouched, but you can add a link to a post compo version with improvements.
The creatures look pretty cool, first time I see something like that in Flash. The game needs to be more interactive though. Good to see an original idea! ;D
Great graphics! I know the frame is part of the game, but the design is a bit distracting with those gradients. It had some bugs with the jumping that prevented me from totally enjoying the game. Needs balancing, the bar runs out too fast! In general it's a nice idea, I hope you can dedicate some more time to polish it up a bit, could be an awesome game. Congrats! :D
The mouse turning was too fast. Especially the vertical axis was too sensitive. The slime looks like the slime from Zelda II, so that's cool :p. Nice game, will try the post-compo version now.
Great intro! I didn't enjoy as much the "action scenes" though, they were not as special. So improving them or making them shorter/easier would be good as people are here for that other part of the game. Good job, though!! :D
Great visuals, animation and mood! The game was a bit too simple, but with some more time and work it's got potential for something great. Quite charming!
Good mood, cool sprites. The game's a bit simple and repetitive, so I hope you can improve on that. Also try to not use red and green colors in the same tone, some people can't tell them apart. Good job!!
I thought the taking notes mechanic was gonna be used somehow, maybe you ran out of time? As it is, it's useless, but I think you had something in mind for it. There's a lot of charm in this game for some reason, music, graphics, etc. Reminded me of the good ol' NES times. :)
A good and original idea. The game runs kinda choppy for me on Firefox. This would really benefit from some relaxing soundtrack, that would improve the experience. I never figured out how to use the scissors. Good to see people trying new ideas, eco-friendly to boot, cool!
Nice idea, would be cool if it was time based a la Wario Ware, so you just get to play each game some seconds and then to the next. Overall a good entry, cheers :)
I hope you keep working on this, pretty good base you have here. I'm a sucker for SimCity so I really liked this. Great entry, keep it up!
Needs more interactivity and to be clearer. The main idea is original, so kudos for that. :D
Good idea! The character is a bit hard to control though. It was annoying to have to grab the mouse when leveling up. Good effort, well done!
A bit glitchy but cute, well done! :)
Cool game! Original too. I agree with the asteroids being too dark. Everything else seems pretty good, great job!
Very good concept, I think the big level (3rd?) had some design flaws which made it unnecessarily frustrating, but overall pretty solid!
Great idea! Very few strategy games are as easy to pick up like this one. The graphics and style are great. I had some performance issues, the game lagged a bit for me.
I think the interface can be improved a little, maybe showing your characters on the bottom instead of the next/prev unit buttons. Also when you change units should be clearer which is the active one. I'm kind of amazed you managed to make all this in 48 hours. Strategy games are usually hard to code. Congrats!
Good to see a sandbox game, cool idea. The movement was a bit slow and the music was totally annoying. I liked the main concept, though. Good job!
I liked the main concept, the trial and error approach to this game is a bit frustrating. Especially since you need to restart the whole game if you waste your battery in the wrong place. Good entry, keep it up!
I really enjoyed this one! I think the menu needs some work, it's annoying to have to cycle through all options just to exit and things could just be clearer.
Another problem is that you need to be so close to the edge of the screen to make the scrolling advance, which reduced considerably how far ahead you could see.
Overall great game, I had lots of fun with this one!
Hey, thank you! The third stat is size, it will make your creature bigger. You need to eat corpses to increase it. ;)
Good and interesting concept but I couldn't help feeling it all was too random, maybe clearer instructions could help. Nice visuals and audio, too much text. Props for trying something new!
Props for trying something new, but you need to add more interactivity. Make it feel like a game. I just watched doing nothing 'till I got bored :(
Nice little game, I like the graphics and the randomness. I think all candies should have the same basic design, though. When the tall one appears you don't know if it's good or bad at first. Also, it should be the other way around, you should avoid candy and eat tomatoes! :p
The mood created by the audio and graphics was great. A nice little tale! Well done!
Good graphics! Took a while to figure out what to do, you get killed really fast. It was annoying that I had to read that text box every time I played from the start. But seems like a good start to build it from there. :)
