Very nice implementation. I got stuck tho
Really well done. Needs some more coaching. The puzzles are quite hard to solve if you don't get the mechanics, and some introductory levels teaching them (see portal for this done at it's best) would help a lot.
Very very cool! This is totally sweet.
Absolutely fantastic! The puzzles were a great deal of fun, and not impossibly hard. I recalled Limbo, for some reason. Managed to epacse.
Wow, really fun, it gets a bit frustrating later on, but definitely in my top games from the compo.
Works nicely on Linux! But I think the cavernous areas are WAY too dim so see... A little more brightness wouldn't hurt =) Love the light effects made by the particles. Very interesting game. I also gave up on it, on frustration... =X
I really liked this game, for the innovation. The puzzles were interesting and hard to complete (not in a bad way) and it was definitely fun. Good job!
really nice game, one of the few thats actually fun playing til the end ... although some puzzles are kindoff an endurance test - it's still great
The puzzles were a little tedious, but ingeniously designed. Gameplay was pretty good as well. The only problem is that the game's resolution may be too large for some people's monitors. That can be fixed by changing SCREEN_ZOOM in settings.conf
It works in multiples of 200x150
Just for anyone that has this issue.
Fantastic!
Very fun and nicely done. Although I would have gone towards large element volume physics and less pixel-perfect building.
One of my favourite entries! Such a COOL game. Lemmings-look-alike character that escaped from a cryo tube of sorts. Particle simulation physics fun with lovely lighting/shadowing. Good level design and the right level of challenging.
The water level was maybe a bit too tedious however. Jumping on sinking dirt while being in water is a difficult task. The sounds were annoying so I had to mute it.
The ending was rather disappointing, so I tried twice to see if I could jump over it, to no avail. Then I read there was a secret ending... Hmm, I just had to find out! Only by looking at the source code did I figure out where the trick was. The secret level (not so much of an ending?) was pretty sweet.
All I can see is a black window :'(
What's your graphics card? Do you have the latest drivers? Is there any text in the console window?
This engine is pretty impressive, I liked the main idea. Some puzzles are a bit tedious but still tolerable. I think adding better control when you blast particles would help, or some cursor that indicates the direction, as it's not easy to tell what direction you are gonna blast them towards otherwise. Good idea, solid implementation!
I really love how the graphics are simple and complex at the same time, nice level design! really great game !
First time I see a sandgame with a real gameplay. The level were great, some of them have a kind of "Another World" ambience !
Looked this up, went "wow, this looked cool, I should port it to mac so I can play it!". Ported it to mac. By the time I was done kosinus had already ported it to mac ^_^; oh well.
However it looks like Kosinus's mac port currently only works on Lion, whereas this version should (?) work as far back as 10.4 (Intel only), so I'm posting it anyway:
Game: http://vote.grumpybumpers.com/j/ld/etc/epacse-mac.zip
Source: https://bitbucket.org/runhello/epacse_temp
It also has an icon :D
Now I'm going to go play this.
Registered with this site for the sole purpose of saying how much I enjoyed this game. Fantastic. Would love to see additional levels--finished these in around 20 minutes. Couldn't get the Linux version to run (Ubuntu 11.04 with GeForce 9500 GT graphics card), but rather than tinker with it I just ran the Windows version under Wine 1.2.2. Works a treat that way. Thanks a heap!
I liked this one a lot, though some of the levels were fairly fiddly. Very creative. I found the secret level with the help of the source (it's the coolest looking one), but eventually gave up.
Is there a mirror for this? My ISP (Time Warner) blocks .tk domains :(
I'm looking for the Windows version and source.
It's not actually your ISP, my server is down :(
I'm going to contact my webhost as soon as possible, but I don't have backups for the binaries; if they're lost forever, I'll rebuild the game from source.
Awesome, thanks!
The Windows version is up on an emergency server.
First Mac version is up too.
Linux version and source recompiled and uploaded! Everything is up again on a new, reliable webhost.
I have epacsed ^^
I wish I could still download this...
