LD21 — Escape

Arachnid Escape by Kenny G 2011-08-24T00:15:00

Like others, I keep getting stuck at the bee...

McPixel by Sos 2011-08-26T21:03:00

This was great!

Close Your Eyes by Coriander 2011-08-27T03:28:00

Good graphics and controls, but it was way too short.

epacse by Marach 2011-08-24T05:12:00

Fantastic!

Beam Runner by Geti 2011-08-24T05:29:00

I like the beams that come down, especially as they blow stuff up. Nice touch!

displaced by Klare 2011-08-24T05:24:00

It was pretty entertaining up until I got stuck at one point. Overall, pretty good!

Coin Runner by Danik 2011-08-23T23:44:00

This was a lot of fun, very Diamond Hollow-esque. I'm always impressed by how well the die-then-level-up mechanics works in games like this. Overall great job!

Huescape by mtthwcmpbll 2011-08-27T03:53:00

Neat idea, but pretty short.

NO ONE CAN STOP THE HARDWARE HERO by JigxorAndy 2011-08-23T22:21:00

A bit boring, but not a bad game. Toward the later levels though it can get a bit random, since there doesn't seem to be any check to prevent one of the pink blocks from starting on top of your guy.

D.T.R.J by Zemmi 2011-08-25T05:47:00

I like this concept quite a bit! I have only two complaints: First, the music got a bit repetitive after awhile. Second, some of the puzzles seemed to be somewhat ill constrained; I felt like I solved them by cheating/using a particularly inelegant solution. Of course I think that it is quite difficult to make levels for this kind of game, so hats off to you for creating as much as you did in the time limit!

BRITAIN:2027 by Sophie Houlden 2011-08-27T03:10:00

Graphics were great! But the game was way too short.

Henchmen, Attack! by qrunchmonkey 2011-08-24T00:10:00

I love the sound effects, and the game is really fun. The only thing I could possibly fault it for is being yet another cannabalt.

Prelude of the Chambered by Notch 2011-08-25T05:27:00

In addition to being so high profile, this is also one of the most fun entries of the competition this year! Congratulations to Notch on making yet another amazing game!

/ ESCAPE \ by schonstal 2011-08-25T05:08:00

Wow! This is amazingly polished! The only thing is that it does seem to be a bit frustrating, but the addicting music and slick presentation kept me coming back for more. It feels almost like a pachinko machine, I want to keep dumping more tries into it.

FuhFuhFire! by Radiatoryang 2011-08-27T02:44:00

Interesting concept, but I couldn't really figure out what to do with all the people. Also, am I supposed to be playing as an arsonist or a firefighter?

Bomber Planet by adamatomic 2011-08-26T23:01:00

Nice work! The multiple bomb powerups didn't seem helpful until I figured out that I could spam the button and stack them on top of each other for a combined effect. Also the map was a bit boring, and probably too large.

Persephone by thonk 2011-08-23T23:56:00

It was pretty neat, and I like the bomb mechanic. However I have two major complaints: 1. The controls are way to slippery. 2. Waiting for the bombs to go off is a bit tedious. It seems like it would almost work better if they just exploded immediately.

Death Game by icrisanto 2011-08-24T00:02:00

It is really hard to place blocks and move to the right at the same time. I almost feel like the mouse would be a better button to use for the blocks, and perhaps e could be used to toggle between the two modes. Also the looping background noise gets a bit old.

Asplosions! by blahoink 2011-08-23T22:08:00

Neat little game, I made it through once, though the second time I got stuck at the sumo level. There seems to be a bug where if you die there, the sumos don't ever stop coming in.

EscapeOut by David S. Gallant 2011-08-26T22:38:00

Hah! I like it, very clever!

Who let the robots out? by wallacoloo 2011-08-24T00:14:00

Well, this is a very ambitious and unusual game no doubt, and for that alone I am willing to give it quite a few points. However, it is also a bit unweildy at times and it is difficult to figure out what the goal is. The idea of programming the robots is really cool, but it seems difficult to use properly.

Lava Tsunami of Doom by Shot 2011-08-27T02:57:00

Had major performance problems, also whenever I left clicked the level mysteriously vanished for a split second.

Escapism by Dramble 2011-08-26T22:47:00

A neat concept, but I wasn't sure if there was a point to it (or maybe that IS the point and I'm not getting it).

Antagonist by Jonathan Whiting 2011-08-25T04:49:00

This was great when it worked, but there were quite a few times when it felt like the level design was slightly broken. In a few places the antagonist randomly teleported on top of me and instakilled me before I had a chance to react. Other than that, great use of the theme!

Land of Colors by ZirconCode 2011-08-27T03:25:00

What a cool concept! A pretty fun game if you have two people!

Escape! by JGames 2011-08-23T22:09:00

Kind of lame, more a joke than an actual game.

Dungeon Exit by angrygeometry 2011-08-27T04:04:00

I laughed, but that sound hurt my ears.

Escape - Forest 2012 by Chaoslab 2011-08-27T02:37:00

I tried, but I could not get this game to run. Sorry, :(

Idol Run! by Vidd 2011-08-24T05:50:00

Nice job

Help! I'm trapped in a compact 2D Riemannian manifold! by mikolalysenko 2011-08-24T04:41:00

KilledByAPixel: Thanks! Glad you liked it! As a protip, try using shorter gestures to move the ball around instead of clicking and holding (kind of like rolling a trackball). Also, on the donut level the frosting is very slippery, so you can try rolling on the cake part of the donut to keep the ball under better control.

Mangore by Fountain 2011-08-24T05:45:00

This is the best presentation of this joke that I've seen on the site.

pblob by nr505 2011-08-23T22:17:00

I couldn't figure out how to get past the second level. The game seemed to keep glitching out and turning me into a ball, whereupon I would immediately fall to the bottom of the screen and roll around down there. I like the idea though, and it seems like a promising concept.

Arenatron by ExciteMike 2011-08-24T00:34:00

Nice!

Can't play, linux :(

Planet Master by Dakota 2012-04-23T19:59:00

Haha! This is bad ass! Fantastic work!

A Theft of Mass by uberneen 2012-04-23T21:58:00

Interesting idea, and I think there is a kernel of a fun game here. As a suggestion, maybe add some recoil when the ship hits the ground? Also, the laser controls seem a bit wonky.

Hungry Ants by Dew 2012-04-23T21:44:00

Takes a long time to get started. Maybe set the timer for less than 15 minutes?

Quantum Entanglement by icefallgames 2012-04-23T19:58:00

Can't run, linux :(

Fort in the Woods by pkdawson 2012-04-23T20:25:00

What an awesome game idea!

Ant In Training by Syntaxide 2012-04-23T20:10:00

Can't play on linux :(

The Collector by blob 2012-04-23T21:11:00

This game looks fantastic! Unfortunately, the mouse firing doesn't work on linux. I tried to play it but couldn't get very far.

Matrix Creatrix by piman 2012-04-23T20:21:00

It's very... weird. I don't quite get what the rules are. Sound was nice though. Always refreshing to get a break from sfxr :P

Predicament by orangepascal 2012-04-23T21:40:00

Great job! Especially with getting the audio working in the browser.

Cowboys and Endians by ComaToes 2012-04-23T20:25:00

No linux version :(

DANCING NINJA! by Jabu 2012-04-23T19:51:00

It's ok. My main issue is the use of non-original assets. Even in a jam game, it seems against the spirit of the competition.

Bunny Simulator by rylowry 2012-04-23T20:00:00

Can't play, linux :(

Materia by Tempest 2012-04-23T20:01:00

Looks interesting, but unfortunately there is no linux player for unity :(

Men not wearing hats by nilstastic 2012-04-24T13:36:00

Can't play on linux :(

Accretion by bastiandantilus 2012-04-25T21:00:00

Neat concept, but the game took a long time to load, and after that it crashed about halfway through the first level.

3 Arrows by wupto 2012-04-23T20:23:00

The graphics look cool, shame it doesn't have a linux version.

Glue Galaxy Rescue! by kirbytails7 2012-04-23T21:15:00

The song is really awesome.

NanoQuest by Mago 2012-04-23T20:24:00

Can't play on linux :(

Ancestor's Sword by JaJ 2012-04-23T21:50:00

It looks really good from the video. I wish I could say more, but unfortunately there is no linux version.

Sirus the Virus by eburn184 2012-04-23T20:09:00

This game is frustratingly difficult. Especially in the places where you effectively get stuck after missing a red blood cell jump. Maybe it would be good to make some of them respawn or remove some bottomless pits?

48 hour MMO by mikolalysenko 2012-04-23T14:20:00

nilstatic: Thanks! Here is a protip:

In chrome use CTRL + Mousewheel to increase the size to make things easier to see. This can help with clicking on stuff.

48 hour MMO by mikolalysenko 2012-04-23T20:03:00

Also if anyone is having problems playing the game, please leave a comment. It should work in Chrome/Chromium.

48 hour MMO by mikolalysenko 2012-04-25T05:15:00

Well, I posted the game on reddit. Seems to be working now, but there was a bit of a traffic spike for a while. Should be available now.

48 hour MMO by mikolalysenko 2012-04-25T20:18:00

Also regarding the connecting screen: It will also do that if you have a browser which doesn't support websockets or canvas. Unfortunately I didn't get around to client side error reporting, so you may also want to try updating your browser (or using chrome).

A Tiny New World by Gameko 2012-04-23T20:02:00

GERMS: A Ghost Story by matt 2012-04-23T21:25:00

Seems like the website only works intermittently. Intro was cool.

Swift by andrebeton 2012-04-23T20:18:00

Movement was a bit too slow. I couldn't figure out what to do at the boss.

Affinity World by Jilius 2012-04-23T20:13:00

Can't play on linux :(

Magma Defense by kj654321 2012-04-23T19:57:00

Interesting idea. Unfortunately, it seems like the later waves get a bit frustrating. It isn't really clear what you need to do to control the amount of material you get. Is the best strategy to just mash the button as soon as more stuff becomes available?
