Hey, it's an original idea! And it plays! I yearn for a little planet-destruction animation but this is well-executed, clear, simple, fun.
Coming back to this.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD23 → Magma Defense

Interesting idea. Unfortunately, it seems like the later waves get a bit frustrating. It isn't really clear what you need to do to control the amount of material you get. Is the best strategy to just mash the button as soon as more stuff becomes available?
i really enjoyed that! nice work
Thanks for the feedback.
@Hume yeah the whole time developing I kept thinking, "now for the explosions" but never go to it
@mikolalysenko yeah I wanted to make that clearer with an animation or something but ran out of time. A bonus is enabled by blocking 3 missiles of a given color, or for the blue one by putting 3 missiles in the water. The only strategic part is if you try to use the bonus before it's fully lit up, it resets to 0 so you can't just constantly press ASDF.
Wow! I like this idea. Very quick to get into and a great use of HTML5. Found this a genuine challenge. Enjoyed playing this one more than most.
I made it to level 4 with 26 missiles left. I think that the best improvement to the game (if you revisit it) would be to add a short intro about how the last space invader-defender person dies, but time is obviously a constraint here. 4/5
It's a fun original concept. Maybe could have used some smoother animation on the planet. The jerkiness makes it hard to understand things at high speed. Good job.
Unique and fun! Easy to pick up and play. How did you do the dynamic terrain thing?
Despite clear instructions it took me a minute to figure out (I don't always read carefully) but once I did this game was a lot of fun!
This is pretty neat. I've played a game a lot like this, but by making certain missiles super damaging against certain layers, it adds a lot of complexity to the game. I also thought the dynamic planet terrain was nice. It was a lot more fun than the last game I played like it.

I noticed that if you take a hit on the side of a magma wall it does almost no damage, so you can clear a wave with a massive planet by just chipping away at a sheer magma wall the entire time.
Neat idea though! Would love to see it expanded upon. Maybe randomize missile launch points and intervals for more fun :)

in chromium. :(
This is one of my favourites :D
Finished it :P
Fun little game. Adding new material didn't seem to do anything a lot of time, but maybe I was missing something.
Fun mechanic. This could've used some effects, music and perhaps some secondary gameplay elements.
Fun and simple. The fact that materials gradually become available was confusing because if you used them while they are half-way through they seem to do nothing besides reverting to fully-disabled. It was interesting though. Needs music!
pretty fun game

A simple to understand, fun game. Great job.
Love it!
This was awesome. Well done... sound/music would be a nice touch.
It was definitely hard, but once I understood that you wait until the bonuses are fully up, it got a bit easier... and I achieved victory :)
