Looked more an intro rather than a game, but i really liked it.

Looked more an intro rather than a game, but i really liked it.
Really like the Zelda-like room transition and the game moving/shooting mechanics.
The graphical style is amazing but controls are awful. I still enjoyed it a lot.
Good audio and interesting gameplay ideas!
I had to download an emulator to test your game, it was well worth it! It felt like a 15 years ago platform game, excluding the fact XNA didn't exist at that time. :D
For a 5 hours work, is pretty good job.
It needs a bit more puzzles but it is a good labyrinth game. Graphics and audio gives works well together and give the players the right mood.
The physics were a glitchy. But i got i cake! :)
A pretty cool game, hard but not frustrating.
Really liked the graphics, too bad the enemy killed my framerate and stopped me from playing.
Creepy quiet sounds and great mood!
The first thing i hit was a rock, but that was my fault.
Upgrades are fine, first 2-3 days are boring as hell and shooting mechanics needs a rewrite.
Great mood, the ending almost made me cry. Fire throwing and double jump controls are the only bad point, i wasted more than 2 minutes trying to kill enemies on level 4.
Bad controls and no sound. The idea is good and i like the graphics.
Level generation has some flaws (i had one level 5 squares long, ended in like 10 seconds). Interesting idea, you should continue improving it. ;)
The game itself is lots of fun, but requires ninja reflexes. Make it turn based or slow it down! On a trackball mouse is completely unplayable.
Awesome music!
Thanks everyone for comments!
@Summaky
I knew the game was too easy for the average player, too bad i didn't have time to tweak difficulty.
@summaky @kalle_h
Sorry for that. Keys instructions on web entry page are now ok.
Too bad i had to redo everything every time i died, but it's an interesting entry.
Really loved your game! Hitting enemies with a broom and throwing toilet paper are fun ideas.
A little final bug report: i killed last pack of enemies in round 4 using a bomb and the game got bugged, preventing me from playing round 5.
Creepy and fun. The only bad thing were monsters, i died twice in the first level trying to avoid and kill them.
Mirrors were a really good idea and i loved the music loop. Good job!
Good game and style. Loved fog and day/night effects.
PS: I had to google and download a missing library.(libstdc++-6.dll). Maybe you should repack your game including that file in your game folder.
Freaking hard. But once you get used to game's controls it's only hard.
True genius game!
Graphics are a little too "blocky", it's really hard on some screen, but overall it is a fun game.
Great game! I didn't finish all the levels because some are hard.
Really loved the blind/sonar concept.
Awful controls but "Pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew!" made my day!
The ending was a bit "WTF?", but the game itself is really fun.
It reminded me of VVVVVV, with the ablity to move gravity in four different directions and the puzzlies. Awesome background music too!
Your tiny friends sometimes got stuck on buldings, i hated the audio part, but i loved the graphics style. Overall I think your game is quite impressive for a 48h compo.
Well written game. A bit boring after first 500 points, with some other kind of obstacles like enemies or bigger spikes could be more fun.
Solid game, with good graphics and well balanced difficulty curve.
Sound is bit rough and the planet could keep spinning when you jump. Great graphic style, cute background music and innovative gameplay. Good job.
WOW!
There's nothing more to say. :)
Really polished for a 48h entry. :)
The only bad point i noticed: The volume difference between audio clips and background music was way too high.
Awesome game! Good graphics and sounds, the idea of using two chars in two different ways was a fun one. The hand sometimes moved oddly.
I was playing the pixel shader version and i think is awesome! My vaporizer worked just fine even after restarts. ;)
Loved the score multiplier with 1sec:100%bonus ratio. In my first attempt i didn't manage to destroy the world and i got a lame 130k point while my second try gave me more than 2.340k points and made me happy. :)
The level generator kept me playing "one more level", but some levels were almost impossible because of odd collisions. Overall it is a simple and fun game.
One of the best interpretation of theme.
On Firefox sounds didn't work. I tried again with Chrome, but they where awful.
Nice and fun game, i loved the "hacking" system.
Oh, and there's a typo in your readme: You are a 'volunteer' in a "laboroty".
Clever and fun idea.
I played back and forth levels a couple times, taking stuff and the likes. But I never seen an end screen, did i miss something?
I had a great fun playing this one. Beautiful menu screen.
The graphics were really bad, but some animations like waving arms and the humorous part made me think this game is good. :P
VDZ's comment says all about your game.
I personally like the game mechanics, the graphics style even if it is simple. The only part i didn't like is the music loop, it gets annoying after a minute or so.
This game is pure awesomeness! :D
Nice idea, nice art and if you made that "aaaah" sound al by yourself, nice screaming too!!!
There seems to be a bug in player's movement. When i travel right to left near the tree i get teleported on the other side, while when moving in the opposite direction the tree block me.
The background music is charming. :)
The only bad note: no goal.
Otherwise good job. Clean graphics, charming audio (with nice voice acted intro) and the game is fun to toy with. :)
I could play this for hours. It is a lot funny in its simplicity. :D
Amazing game! The telport was a nice addon!
In LD #22 i made a game with the same GameBoy-ish style. But your game is far better than mine's!
The concept is pretty solid, you should keep improving this game!
Too bad I can't give you 6 stars in humor, this is absolutely the most nonsense and humorous game.
When you get a new planet it appears at a random position around the orbit. This insta-destroyed a couple of planets during my games.
Excluding that annoying part, the game is a super fun concept, i could play it for hours. :)
On first playtrough, I got a game over at turn 6 after a guard spawned right after my king. A faster/avoidable tutorial could have made this less annoying.
Great polished graphics and well worked gameplay and it fits theme well.
Amazing graphics with amazingly annoyng UI: Everytime i wanted to click a button my camera started spinning around. Aside from that, it is great entry.
Conway's Life, my nemesis. I never learnt the rules, so i just played by placing my drops at random.
Still, this is a great twist to the original idea with good looking graphics. I had some fun with it!
Solid entry.
Good background music and smooth gameplay.
The music was creepy, adding a lot of mood to your game. The missile command shooting style reminded me my old Atari 5200. :D
The music is a bit repetitive, but the "duh du-du-du-du-duuuh" at the end of the level is the best sound i've heard during this LD. =D
Interesting game idea, but too hard and with an odd camera. I didn't get past level 3. And after three tries i gave up because of the one level back penalty. Was it really necessary?
Amazing idea, fits theme well.
Nice that every box i found added a feature, keeping it worthwile to keep searching.
Great game! It somehow felt like a twist in Pang series. :)
The graphics made me think i was on acid. :)
Repetitive but fun mechanics. Graphics, intro and music were pure awesomeness! :)
The player moves too slow, controls are hard and jump is somewhat odd. Using rects for menu buttons when everything else is round is a punch in my eye. There's no hud or a way to see planet/player's health and where enemies are.
Your game is pretty solid, removing those bad points in a future version could make it a GREAT game. ;)
Oh, and I loved the simple but effective UFO design.
Really enjoiable. The story was the best part. :D
Interesting game. Nice graphics and background sounds. I didn't finish it because it's gameplay was slow and i got bored after 15 mins.
Maybe something like defending from enemies could have improved it.
Good looking and a lot funny to play. Good job!
Sometimes the controls get bugged.
A simple but addicting tower defense game. Ants fits the theme well.
Interesting and fun idea!
It crashed twice on my machine while moving large groups of units.
Using Chrome? I just saw it doesn't load it. I've added a link to load it in a non-wordpress page. Now it should work.
For those who find the ship level too hard, i've added a cheat to play runner level without having to fight ships. Just press "V" when on main screen. ;)
@KevinWorkman
Oh crap, you're absolutely right, adding features after the game's release is not allowed. My fault. I'm reuploading the game with that cheat commented out. ;)
I will add a link at the bottom of my page for the new version.
*facepalms* Looks like i commented out the wrong line. :(
Corrected: Now the cheat is NOT working and the runner level loads fine.
If you can't reach the second part while playing because of the high difficulty, rate on what you managed to see. ;)
Oh well, and there's an easier version with that cheat enabled and an autoshoot function at the bottom of the page. But please don't rate that one.
The intro was beautiful!
I didn't like the controls, more acceleration would make them easier.
This game has nice graphics and a charming music, awesome! The only bad point i can think of is the controls side: It was difficult sometimes to get past obstacles.
Your level generator's room reminded me a bit of Zelda series. I liked it.
When i closed the game window, the background music kept looping in my head. Nice audio, nice visuals and overall nice atmosphere. :)
Strange game but fun. =D
Beautiful graphics, audio and mood. But, I did not understand what i had to do with gameplay.
Really clean graphics and nice audio effects.
But controls were the worst worst:
-I found hard to avoid ships with movement limited to one axis at time.
-I miss an autoshoot feature (I made the same mistake in LD#22) which could have lowered boss difficulty. Am I the only one that didn't find the "weak spot"?
The game itself was fun in the first minute, then when you have 2 skeletons in the same place heroes can't get any further. Eventually I unlocked all 3 spots and filled them with skeletons.
Add more powerful enemies/defenders, and maybe a score, and you will get an awesome game.
Clap clap clap!
Somehow it reminded me a bit of Monkey Island's battles.
The lyrics were awesome.
I got to L4 by just pressing space randomly. I loved how the lights and sun worked as timer. I don't see how a bleating goat could be a villain.
Still I found this game pretty humorous to play.
Fits the theme really well! And it's perfect for the Xmas season, too. I really like the music but I didn't like how the difficulty grew up after one minute making me lose in seconds and killing the lots of fun I was having. An higher fire rate could have saved it.
PS: I made a Missile Command clone, too!
Developing a well executed RTS is an extreme task for LD, you overall made a good job, with a couple major disappointments. I agree with other comments about your game needing more ingame instructions. It also needs something to differentiate between player skeletons and AI skeletons.
Simple and fun mechanics. Loved the score system. The wandering hero really adds difficulty by killing minions.
Interesting and well developed idea. Maybe it was a little too easy.
I wasn't able to open doors without awaking everyone. I completed most of the levels just by following people around.
Really liked the graphics and the setting.
The first two fights are fun while you figure controls. Then you can complete all the other levels with bullet spam.
Simple but fun!
I lost before I had the chance to fully understand mechanics and had to stop and reopen the application. What about a restart button?
I hired a bunch of guys, ran out of money a completed both task. I had a couple of "breaking news" texts, but I have no idea of what I've actually made to trigger them.
The music loops were cool, but a bit short and soon they became annoying.
Overall I just clicked randomly without really understanding what I was doing.
You are a genius. Period.
Nice writing, white text on black background killed my eyes.
I'm not sure I understood the story: At the point I though was the end I got back to the first text.
Beast.
There's so much senseless violence that I actually enjoyed it.
The game-mechanic war really interesting.
But I got stuck at level 2, I don't really understand what I was supposed to do.
Nice story and lighting effects!
Simple entry, a bit too easy. With some well placed turrets it is impossible for officers to reach the hideout.
One tip: Rename the game's exe to the same name of the entry. I downloaded a bunch of games together and then I had troubles finding your game's entry page again.
D'oh, I completely goofed on it. There's a back button, but I coded it wrong: To get out level finished screen you have to press P.
@sclark39:
That's what made the easy AI easy. The hard one does not care about burned cities, making her harder to fool.
The AI plays its role really well, awesome. I had to think and retry a lot during some levels.
You could have named your zip/exe same as the entry, I got troubles finding it again through LD search.
I failed each level at least 10 times, thanks for making them all available a start.
It is very difficult to make blue thingies to do what I want them to do without dying or angering the evil boss.
Solid entry, good graphics and the bgm was the best one I've heard so far!
Online scores were a nice addition, too.
In one word: LOL! :)
This game starts automatically, giving me annoying popups while I was reading the upper text.
An healthbar or something similar could have helped in determining when I was playing well and when bad. There's a lot of randomness, the cops where just "popping" at random positions, which lowered the fun. Some kind of evade and pursuing gameplay could have improved it a lot.
It fits the theme perfectly in the game description, while the game itself is so abstract it doesn't show much of the theme.
For your first 3D attempt, effects were ok, I loved the moving board, much less boring than a fixed one.
I found lots of red stuff by just blowing up stuff at random positions without ever using scouts.
Even with bomb tool selected the Earth rotated when I clicked, this caused some bomb misplacements.
I actually blew up roughly 1/4 of the planet before getting bored, does the game have other levels or a win condition?
The graphic and music art were great, but this entry is more a story rather than a game.
I really didn't understand what the combats were about...
Slow paced fun and clever level design. I really liked this entry.
The runner part was slow and the static background didn't help. The boss fight was fun, too long to kill, but fun.
The chip song where absolutely great!
Hard but fun! Nice music, too.
I absolutely loved the level regression.
It was too easy, but it's a nice and clean entry.
Great setting.
But some jumps were to hard to achieve.
An "one button game" where I have to click to start! It took me a while to get past menu... :|
Still, beautiful minimal game.
Hard and humorous. :D
Nice background music.
The game was cool, the music and setting were awesome. But the ending was meh.
Cool entry! Nice effects and atmosphere!
Insightful game.
Wow. Just wow.
Good minimal runner/jumper game.
I really liked the fire effect.
For your first LD, this is a great entry. :D
A simple game and a lot of juicyness. You should really consider making it a full game.
I rage quitted at level 3 because I died twice and after the third playthrough there was no way to reach the second platform. This should be improved.
Multiple endings! :D
Feels like 80's car games. Good entry.
UP still freezes. (Firefox 20 on Win Vista Ultimate)
A good idea and an amazing execution, fits the minimal theme perfectly. Good job!
I agree with other comments about the controls, especially because closing a popup window by clicking an "X" triggered a shot, wasting a precious missile.
Fuel depletes so fast that a couple dodges usually ended my game because of no fuel left.
Good puzzle experience.
The music was so low I didn't knew it was there until I read other comments.
Cool and polished rock-scissor-paper implementation.
I played it with other 6-7 players and it was awesome!
Nice visual and audio atmosphere. The movement is really slow, but fits well the game.
You're causing a lot of hand aches here.
I tried a couple time but I kept drowning right at the start. :(
Audio was pure perfection!
Well executed turn strategy game. The mechanics are simple but work well.
I didn't understand what AI was doing: sometimes worked well (I got king and one warrior cornered by two warriors) and sometimes was just dumb (the same two warriors kept moving back and forth in the cells near my warrior).
Great game, so relaxing to play.
It reminds me Flow.
Great music! I really like the Octupus, too!
On my first playtrough I fell under some platform and basically reached the treasure with no effort.
It's so simple it's actually effective: Gameplay is smooth, graphics is cool and audio is perfect.
Nice entry!
I was not able to reach any "good" ending. I tried a lot of different stories but I kept dying in a way or another. :(
Nice horror game. I really liked the use of real life photos.
Three minutes of pure happiness!
Crashes if you throw too many bombs.
But overall is a small and enjoyable game.
Slow paced and fun. I loved exploiting gravity to move faster.
Great intro. Background music feels great with the game.
The lack of diagonal movement is a no-no and the need to follow the player with the mouse is boring.
The first time I had to get under the floor I actually got under the whole level.
Voice acting volume was low, it was difficult to hear it along with music playing.
I got stuck at the second green pad puzzle.
I see no actual reason for the energy refill to be so slow.
Apart from that, it's a great 3D puzzle, really high quality for a 48H entry.
A psycho-horror game. Everything fit together well.
The music was really moody and fit the game well, except the bell which was a bit annoying.
I really loved the style but I got stuck at the bird with absolutely no idea of what I was doing and what I should be doing.
Great game, one of the best I've played until now. It's fun, visually pleasing and with a great background song.
As a last note, the "Why?" section is a lie: I'm not sure you weren't on drugs when you had this game idea. :)
Great game, filled with awesome graphics and people screaming!
Sometimes I felt dumb while trying to hit things, but it still felt fun.
The game was going to be repetitive but the new weapons to try somewhat kept it fresh.
It took me a couple games to figure out the right moment, but after finding that the game became way too easy.
Good game, simple and really enjoyable.
Awesome visual style, possibly one of the top ones!
Very clean and polished game, simple but not too easy/hard mechanics.
I was positively shocked by this game.
To only part I didn't like were controls:
Keyboard to move and left click anywhere to shoot didn't feel right, a mouse only approach could have fit better.
The game shortcut does not work.
For people wondering: just run \bin\Whack a meme.exe
You should repack your game so the exe is in first folder.
Not to be that bitch but: the game should be a jam entry, since some of the images you used are not original content.
Lastly, on my pc the game runs too fast to be playable and I was not able to play. I will rate it once you rebuild it with some kind of fps limit. ;)
Nice entry with great art!
I would have loved some more mechanics, the game was basically running and jumping back and forth.
Great art style, the background music fits perfectly.
A bit glitchy when it comes to pickup stuff and drop it.
I wasn't able to play online, I only played local games.
I had absolutely no idea of what I was doing and the controls were so bad they felt actually good.
On Beneath the Surface level the camera actually got beneath the surface on slopes, I had no idea of where I was going.
" Box box box box box box box box box box boxboxboxboxbox! " This only made the game 10/10.
Writing in the instruction to NOT do something will cause troll players like me to do that exact thing.
I completed the first two level by legit means, but after that everything became a shoot to the moon. :D
Without this "feature" the game would not have been this fun.
Nice mix between tower defense and shooter genres.
Really polished for a 72 hours game, you should definitely make a post jam version of it.
Aiming at first was a bit difficult. On my pc the game's fps got down a lot when I built 5-6 towers and the central area got crowded, causing an huge input lag.
I still managed to make the guy live for 75 years and 190 days. :D
For those wondering why the infection number was increasing: monsters come from a door (two in the second level) and infection increase when they reach the door that don't spawn monsters.
It took me a couple losses before realizing that. You should include it in instructions.
Enemies should be harder to kill. The rest of the game is pretty much running around randomly to get parts.
Huge lasers and tank tracks were a great addition.
After getting some pieces the tank stopped picking them up. I don't really know what happened.
The game needs something like the ability to discard materials or clients. At one point my storage were full and I was not able to buy raw resources anymore, I had to patiently wait for the client timers to blow.
Said that: Nice pixel graphics, great mood. But what I liked above all else is your interpretation of theme.
Potentially one of the top Jam games.
The "third skull hangs the whole system" game breaking bug is now fixed in all builds. Sorry for the inconvenience.
