LD23 — Tiny World

PixDodge by whitebird 2012-04-23T08:36:00

Very simple game and graphics, but the real-time mouse control makes it somewhat innovative and different from any other game. Made me wanna play over and over again. Good!

Montezuma's Tomb by recursor 2012-04-23T08:45:00

I like how you fit so much into one screen. Feels exactly like a Tiny World with all the stuff going on.

It was too hard, though. There's nothing wrong with giving the player few easy successes first. Now I just quit in rage after awhile. The Game Over is also a bit pointless. It could just go on forever.

But overall it's a nice complete working game.

Our Worlds by rinesh.t 2012-04-23T08:50:00

Very innovative mechanic! With some polish this could be a very very good mobile game.

Now the graphics are dull and the visual feedback is missing. You should show more stuff like how well you matched. Flash the player some words like "perfect", "close" or maybe some points.

Good stuff, but needs work.

Berries by tlaine 2012-04-23T07:16:00

Didn't run on my win7 at work. Trying again from home.

Nineties Holywood Hacker by Casino Jack 2012-04-23T07:24:00

The hacking part was too difficult. I wish I could go back and forth between hacking and Hacking :) (can I?)

I totally love the humor and the retro graphics are very pleasing.

Tinysasters by Volute 2012-04-25T05:08:00

It was hard to get into the actual gameplay, but the aesthetics are absolutely wonderful and theme is well applied.

Biological Warfare by Bei 2012-04-23T10:44:00

Nice game overall. Everything works as expected and easy to learn. Not much in innovation, theme or graphics, though.

Lost Oxide by SidetrackGames 2012-04-23T06:24:00

Very cool and only 20h of work! Awesome graphics. Controls were very tight. I love sliding down the wall mechanic. It matches the darkness/light mechanic nicely.

Not much innovation and only vaguely in the theme, but super cool overall.

Pixel MMO by daniel 2012-04-23T07:13:00

Attempting MMO should be awarded :) Was buggy for me, but maybe it works for others.

Predicament by orangepascal 2012-04-23T07:55:00

AAAAAAWESOME! 5/5 all over the place. Funny, excellent graphics, uses the theme perfectly and great all around polish. My fav.

Tiny the Adventurer by onehandclap 2012-04-23T10:59:00

This is what I would call a "troll game". What I mean is that the game trolls you :) And I love this kind of game. Hard and infuriating. Bittersweet even.

Graphics are ok and I like the Spectrum palette. Not too much innovation or interesting twist of the theme.

Anyways, kept me entertained for a long time. Good!

CAPSULE [web] by True Valhalla 2012-04-23T09:16:00

Not fun as in fun game, but fun in other weird ways. I think the positive/negative mechanic is very cool! I could see how it would make an awesome bigger game with time and polish. I'd give you 6 stars on innovation if I could.

Desire by zazery 2012-04-24T04:19:00

I think the idea is very solid. Haven't played exactly this sort of game before so maybe it's somewhat unique (?). I agree with the others, that this would fly pretty well as a mobile game.

Graphics are good and clear. The player sprite needs some work, though. Needs more character. I would also try to convey the desires with icons or some other manner. Text is pretty hard.

Overall good take on the theme, worked well and was fun. Maybe make the island smaller. One game took so long, that I didn't feel like playing another round.

Tiny Stomp by DoktorAce 2012-04-23T08:54:00

Awesome! Very good feedback, great simple mechanic, humor and all-around polish. I'm droppin five stars here.

Angle Isle by Rusty Moyher 2012-04-23T06:33:00

Tight controls. Love the diagonal visuals. No extra hassle and you know how the play and what to do right away. iPhone material. First it was easy and then maybe got too hard too fast. Very nice!

Subatomica by SFBTom 2012-04-23T10:50:00

Cool idea! Good idea in making them bounce and not punishing the player too much. You can get through first levels with just dumb luck and feel the game out. Graphics are polished and game feels good. Nice twisting of the theme too.

Niña Nueve by Jonathan Whiting 2012-04-23T07:07:00

This is the definitely the best game I've played so far. Everything is very polished. I love the graphics & feel! Recycling the grid also amplifies the Tiny World aspect.

BUT I'm stuck very early, like third level or something. I must be stupid. I'd love to play this moar!

5 stars on many categories.

A Flying Shame by spiral 2012-04-24T04:43:00

What the other guy said. The background/foreground was hard to distinguish.

The game worked ok but it wasn't anything that I'd get hooked on. Not much epicness in the innovation department or theme-wise either.

The graphics do look ok and the sounds/music work well.

Lilac.27 by oddgoo 2012-04-23T11:46:00

Great combination of 2D / 3D. It gives awesome unique feel to the controls and the game.

The best/funniest part was when you step on the "teleport" first time and fly through the air to another planet. That felt sooo cool when you didn't expect it at all.

Maybe too much bloom on some occasions, but overall good looking game. Good use of the theme too.

Planet 161 by saint11 2012-04-23T11:20:00

Oh shit this is good. Polish just oozes out of it. Commercial quality.

Professor McSteen, and his shrinking machine by PerilousPete 2012-04-23T06:42:00

There is lot to improve. Graphics is ok, but not great. Controls are fine. Not much innovation with the theme. The games does work. No bugs.

The instruction text gets in your way when you solve the first obstacle. Couldn't get past the small hole in the second puzzle. Maybe some easier puzzles first.

Bonus points for using html5!
